    ***HAMPTON XPRESS LUBE BEWARE!!***…read more I took my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for a routine, and what I thought at the time uneventful, oil change on 12/18/18 at the Hampton, NJ Xpress Lube. On 2/25/19 my Check Engine Light came on as I was pulling into my driveway. All pressures and temperatures appeared good, but I left it parked until I could get it into the dealership to investigate the morning of 2/27. Within a few minutes of pulling my Jeep into the garage, the service manager called me back and wanted to show me what had been found. Under the engine cover around the oil filter adapter cap was a mouse nest approximately 1 foot in diameter. Pinched under the adaptor cap was wedged a piece of the "mouse house" where oil had obviously been seeping out. When the oil filter was pulled out it was torqued in a corkshew pattern and within the oil filter cavity was yet more "mouse house". The pressure caused by this foreign matter was to blame for the disfigured filter. My oil dipstick was completely dry. It is a miracle my engine didn't seize and that none of the foreign matter made its way further into my engine causing irreparable damage. The final bill was over $370. I immediately called Xpress Lube to voice my displeasure and demand they pay the bill for the repair and stopped by to make the same demand after repairs were complete at the dealership. Dave, the manager, made copies of the dealership report, said they'd need a picture of the old filter and that he would discuss it with the owner, who was out of area, and took my contact information. Later that afternoon Dave called me and stated the owner had agree to make amends, but that to do so they'd need the actual filter, gasket and mouse material so they could file with the filter company. I contacted my dealership and had them collect all of the above, promptly collected it after I got off work and presented it to Dave that evening. He wanted to keep it, but I would not allow it and stated they could have it when I was repaid. He then told me the out of area owner would call me on Friday, the 1st. On Friday, Dave called me again stated his research had showed that the code Jeep put on the receipt was for an oil leak and referenced 3 Technical Bulletins insisting the leak was a fault of the Jeep. He suggested they were being scapegoated and the fault was the dealerships, who were trying to pin it on them. What code he expected for tech shoved a filter through a mouse nest I am uncertain of. He all but made it clear they would not make amends. I have never been spoken to or been called by the owner, although I have requested that contact on multiple occasions. This is an obvious case of an incompetent and/or indifferent technician doing the wrong thing and the local management not having the integrity to own it. I will be filing complaints with both corporate Xpress Lube and the BBB, if they are registered there. I strongly suggest you do not give them your business and that you share this with all your friends and family to protect them from a similar experience.     Car broke down while visiting family and went to here since I used to go to Boonton Tire & Auto…read morewhen I worked next door, assuming it would be the same good work and service. Got an expensive bill for a transmission and had family and old coworkers all telling me to steer clear of of the shop now since it was changed and that I would regret it, but I went through with it anyways. This resulted in a series of being givens false times, being told I would be kept up to date on the progress only to never be in the loop at all, and the final result being poor work done on the vehicle for an exuberant cost. The delays would have been fine if they stopped promising so much as I only went with them because they said it would be done by a certain point and almost cost my partner and I our jobs as we kept giving out new estimated return times to our workplaces and using up what little vacation time we had to just consistently be told to wait longer and longer. Even more work than a transmission was needed in the end and I was not charged, but it was still nonetheless another delay that took another day from us and while not charged for this fix, it was done poorly and I am at my preferred mechanic finally getting it done correctly. The final result after the days of frustration and excuses given out was a car that finally let us go home, albeit now three times as loud and still showing issues from before that I paid for them to fix that I am now paying another person to fix. I should have trusted all my coworkers next door to the shop and family members when they said to not go here, and will be steering clear like the others from now on.
