Not only did the front desk person fail to provide a cost sheet (required by NJ consumer protections law) and then the mechanic broke my glovebox due to negligence by pulling it off the hinges too hard. The one manager who helped me is probably the only thing this location has going for it, they fixed the glove box for free but then broke the trunk lock switch in the glovebox making it impossible for me to get into my truck. There seems to be a general lack of care for your vehicle and a lack of double checking the work being done to your vehicle. I tried calling again, was told I would get a call back about the situation but never did. At this point I realized going through the headache and whatever they'll break next wasn't worth getting the part fixed by here again.

Apparently they only changed one, because the other went 1 month later, I was told it was never changed by a new mechanic. Also, my BRAND NEW snows were badly worn on the outside passenger side, which means they either didn't do the alignment at all, or was WAY out of spec. Now I am out the full cost of a half-assed job, 2 snow tires AND the cost of someone else doing the proper repair. I absolutely abhore places like these.

You drive your car to the back of the shop where there are 2 lanes. A mechanic will tell you which lane to go to and will ask you a series of questions. There is a car scent (choose a scent from lemon, vanilla, clean car, or baby powder), vacuum, windshield wash, and 14-point check included for no extra charge! I sat in the waiting room for maybe 10 minutes before my name was called saying they were done! Very impressed with how quickly they were able to complete everything and my car feels and smells good as new! The staff were extremely professional and did not recommend unnecessary extras. However, less than an hour after dropping my car off, they called me frantically to tell me my "battery was cracked and leaking acid ALL over". I don't know much about cars, but this sounded odd. Especially since my car is only 2 yrs old. The guy proceeded to tell me the car was very dangerous to drive. I jokingly asked if it were going to explode or something and his actual words were "its possible, yes it could explode". Since I'm still under warranty at the dealer I called them and they suggested I bring it in for a second opinion because a "cracked battery" is not a common problem. So, I brought my car to the closest dealer and the mechanic walked to look at the battery with me. It turns out absolutely nothing was wrong with my battery. The guy at the dealer advised me to never go to that midas again and said he thought the guy who said there was a crack might actually have been smoking crack! I know mechanics try to take advantage of "young stupid girls" but unfortunately for them I wasn't fooled and saved myself close to around 150 dollars. Car broke down while visiting family and went to here since I used to go to Boonton Tire & Auto…read morewhen I worked next door, assuming it would be the same good work and service. Got an expensive bill for a transmission and had family and old coworkers all telling me to steer clear of of the shop now since it was changed and that I would regret it, but I went through with it anyways. This resulted in a series of being givens false times, being told I would be kept up to date on the progress only to never be in the loop at all, and the final result being poor work done on the vehicle for an exuberant cost. The delays would have been fine if they stopped promising so much as I only went with them because they said it would be done by a certain point and almost cost my partner and I our jobs as we kept giving out new estimated return times to our workplaces and using up what little vacation time we had to just consistently be told to wait longer and longer. Even more work than a transmission was needed in the end and I was not charged, but it was still nonetheless another delay that took another day from us and while not charged for this fix, it was done poorly and I am at my preferred mechanic finally getting it done correctly. The final result after the days of frustration and excuses given out was a car that finally let us go home, albeit now three times as loud and still showing issues from before that I paid for them to fix that I am now paying another person to fix. I should have trusted all my coworkers next door to the shop and family members when they said to not go here, and will be steering clear like the others from now on.
