Twice I've schedule something an appointment online, and both times they've canceled on me. The first time was for an inspection. I get there and he said he called me 3 times that morning to tell me they couldn't do it. I never received a call. Then today I scheduled an appointment at 6am for an oil change at 12:30 and they called me at 10:30 to tell me they can't do it today. When the inspection thing happened, I called Midas and they literally got me in right there as I was leaving Firestones parking lot. Just called Midas again right now for an oil change and they told me to come at 1:30. Save yourself the headache from Firestone and go to Midas. read more

I was visiting from out of state. My first night in town, I got a flat(something punctured my tire). I get my car serviced at Firestone in VA, where I live so I looked for one near where I was staying. I called first thing the next morning and spoke with Dan. He was super friendly and communicative. He let me know they could get me in first thing the following morning. I arrive to my appointment, I'm greeted by Dan and he was helpful right away. He informed me they would be able to repair my tire and had me in and out within 1/1.5 hours. Dan and his whole team were really great and made me feel at ease with this unexpected situation in my vacation. I highly recommend!! read more

I ran over a nail, so I took my tire to Firestone for them to assess whether I should replace or repair the thing. The morning staffer took the tire from my trunk, and said he'd call me back. Later that day, I was told the tire was damaged beyond repair, and they suggested I buy a new one. For various reasons, I decided against the work so I stopped by to pick up the dud, and managed to pick up the WRONG rim for my tire. Realizing my mistake, I returned, and the staffer who helped me (Mike), was already walking outside with my actual rim (with a big smile on his face)! Now that's service! One last experience: during routine maintenance, the staff noticed something that could be fixed by my dealer under warranty, so they suggested I take it there. They said they could fix it at Firestone, but it'd cost me. Appreciate their honesty! read more

Made a online appointment for a simple oil change and filter. Arrived at this appointment 15 mins early as they suggested. With is said and me being the only customer, this process took 145mins. I had a job around the corner and came out to find a flat tire! Bummer. Looked up and found that Firestone was across the street. They did a great job getting me in, then the hassles began. Needed a simple plug so I can get on my way. Two techs advised me that I needed to buy a new tire as it was against policy to have one plug directly across from the other plug (i had previously had this same tire plugged). I travel up and down the northeast extension on a weekly basis, and as a result - I get a flat about once every 3/4 months. First time anyone had tried that one on me. In fact, they hemmed and hawed about plugging the tire, saying they may even lose their jobs. I told them I'd be happy to speak with the manager if that would help them, as I didn't trust what they were saying. Update - Tire has been fine after 6 weeks, and I didn't need to buy a new tire. They tried to upsell me and I won't be back. read more

I brought my car in for a regular oil change. During the oil change, the mechanic accidentally stripped the oil pan plug. Firestone offered to repair the oil pan for free. However, during the oil pan replacement, they then broke an adjacent engine cover. After over a week of my car being in their shop in an undrivable condition, Firestone finally got both the oil pan and cover replaced. However, I subsequently experienced issues with stalling. It turns out that they forgot to reattach some sensors in the car and the computer was receiving engine failure messages, which caused the car to turn off/stall. To summarize, I went in for a simple oil change and left with multiple problems with my car. It seemed like anytime they tried to fix their errors, they caused additional errors. Despite these problems, there are some positives. Despite being very angry, which included me cursing a few times, they tried their hardest to fix my car (albeit unsuccessfully) and they provided me a free rental car for over a week. They were generally respectful through the entire situation. They repaired everything for free, including all the part replacements. When I added up all the repair costs and rental car fees, this equated to close to $2,000, which Firestone picked up 100%. read more

Most of my family and friends don't consider me your typical 'manly-man'. Can't say that I agree with them; but it's unlikely you'd ever hear me arguing the point...mainly because I don't like confrontations. I guess I just consider myself more 'polite' and 'respectful'...while they've been known to use terms like, 'pushover' and 'dim-wit'. Make of that what you will... But when it comes to automobiles: I can hold my own with the best of 'em. First off, I've probably seen every episode of Home Improvement. They were constantly working on hot-rods and other cars on that show. Plus, I always paid extra attention during the special segments of Tool Time...so I practically earned an honorary degree from LincolnTech just by watching all those episodes. Secondly, I've seen every Fast and Furious movie...and I think that speaks for itself. So when my car started acting up the other day, I just assumed I could handle it myself. Boy was I wrong!! I keep a toolbox in the car, so I started by grabbing a screwdriver and hammer. Then I popped the hood (gear head lingo for 'opening the front compartment where the engine is located') and began to check things out. Well, let me tell ya: If you haven't done this before, be prepared to see a lot more stuff under there than you realize. There were things spinning, vibrating and making a whole lotta noise. I didn't know where to start! Maybe I should've been taking notes during Tool Time. Tim Taylor would disappointed... Anyways, even though I didn't know where to start with my car, I did know where to start on Yelp. I quickly did a search for 'Auto Care' and located Firestone. I called and they said I could bring my car right over and that they'd be glad to take a look. That earned them star #1. When I arrived, I parked and walked up to the counter. Before I could even introduce myself the guy said, "Looks like you got yourself a flat tire there." I was blown away! This guy wasn't even a mechanic (I don't think so, anyways) and was already diagnosing the problem. So I gave him some basic info (both on me and my car), then he said they'd take a look. I handed over my keys and he informed me that I could have a seat, watch some TV, read a magazine and even help myself to a cup of coffee! In all my amazement that he'd identified my car's problem from behind the desk, I hadn't even noticed the incredible waiting area in the lobby!!!! They really have a TV, lots of magazines and coffee!!! What he failed to mention was that the coffee was specialty. Not exactly sure of the make (because it wasn't Keurig) but it was a machine that makes those individual cups of coffee from packets. There were a few different choices but I went with 'French Vanilla'. Oooh, la, la! Anyways, this earned them the second star. After about ten minutes or so, I was called back over to the counter. They told me that they were almost finished with my tire (they were replacing it...said it was beyond salvaging with a patch job) and wanted to know if they wanted me to do a basic check on my vehicle. I said, 'Sure'. Then I sat back down to drink the rest of my coffee and watch a little more TV. It was tuned to one of those cable news channels, so it didn't keep my attention for very long, and I wound up drifting off into deep thoughts about how 'ironic' it would've been if they were airing a re-run of Home Improvement while I was there. Anyways, after they had finished, I was called back over and given a full report on the work they had done. They replaced my tire and said that otherwise, my car was in 'fantastic shape'. They did say they topped off my windshield wiper fluid (free of charge) because I'll need it with this harsh winter weather. So I paid my balance and then asked the cashier if I could say 'thank you' to the mechanic. I winked at him when I said the words, 'thank you', and he said, "Sure, I guess. I'll go call him over." So he called him over and I slipped the mechanic five GW's (George Washington's for anyone not on the DL). (DL is for down-low for anyone not on the down-low). After that, I felt like a 'manly-man', so I grabbed my keys and headed out the door. All of that earned them stars number three and four. So you might be wondering how they got that 5th and final star from me, huh? Well, before I could make it out of the parking lot, I saw the cashier waving at me and then motioning for me to hold on a second. Apparently, while I was too busy trying to be something I'm not (a 'manly-man'), I'd left my cellular phone on the coffee table near the TV. So he had spotted it, grabbed it quickly and ran it outside before I left the parking lot. Talk about phoning a friend!!! So I thanked him and told him I was grateful for all their help and would be back again soon. And that's how you earn FIVE stars! read more

Please note that the three stars is more a reflection of the big chain of Firestone than the service I received. I came here on Sunday around 2. I was told it would be an hour wait and I explained that I had found a nail in my tire. Since I had to wait for it, the customer service rep, who was incredibly awesome and very kind, said he would try to get me back as soon as possible. I wasn't even waiting 10 minutes when he told me that he had bad news. Per Firestone and their ridiculous policy, they were unable to fix my tire (which was around $22 without tax if it was deemed fixable). Firestone claims that the nail needs to fall smack center in the middle of the tire in order to fix the issue. Their claim is they "fix from the inside out in order for the hole to be completely sealed and not leak." Their suggestion was to buy a new tire and knowing I have an SUV, would have to buy two and at $150 a pop, that's $300. The service tech and representative were both very professional, left the tire as is and put air back in my tire so that I wasn't riding on a flat. Fast forward 12 hours, I took my car to Creamery in Skippack. $10.60, the tire was patched and so far, no leaks or noticeable changes in the tire. Can't even see where the hole originally was - plugged with perfection. It really is sad that Firestone, amongst other big name chain stores prey on those who do not know what they are dealing with and just say "ok" to whatever is thrown out at them without doing their research first. That's the only way they stay in business. $10.60 as opposed to $300 -- yep, it's good to do your homework. AGAIN, the gentlemen in the shop were awesome and accommodating, however, Firestone - get with it. Stop ripping off the uneducated consumer. It is very disheartening. read more

I came here to get my summer tires remounted after having a set of winters put on. Shoddy work with no attention to detail. If you have dark wheels, don't come here for tire mounting under any circumstances - my dark wheels were scratched on all of the edges and clearly marred on a four month old car. I've had success at other Firestone locations with this car and my last but do yourself a favor and avoid this one. read more

The work is done right the first time, the prices are competitive, and the hours are terrific. I also don't feel unnecessarily up-sold. They're pretty straightforward about what's absolutely needed, what will be needed in the future, and what they recommend. They're also friendly to deal with. Chadd in particular is great on the phone and in-person. I feel comfortable calling if I have a question. It feels a lot more like a good independently run shop than part of a national chain. read more

Today I took my car to Firestone with out having an appointment. I was impressed by the service I received from Chris, shop manager. Chris explained in detail the situation of my rear brakes and what was needed to be done. He was exceptional! Chris was able to take care of my car in just a few hours which means the world as I have no other kind of transportation. It drives like a brand new car! Out for a ride on my motorcycle and my bike broke down. They were the closest business. I asked if they could charge my battery, willing to pay for it as of course. They said they were too busy. I was stranded in their parking lot. I offered to remove and the battery and have them just put it on the charger. They refused again. They then told me to push the bike to the PepBoys 1/8 mile down the road uphill. They offered no help when I was willing to pay for it. Pepboys were more than willing to take my money. read more

I've been at this shop a few times in the past and always receiving a great service. Well, things are changing to the opposite since they put some of they're dirty games on me... I went for state inspection and got some remarks on a few things I did check right before that - burn off headlamp bulb, sidemarker bulb and the classic one for a PA State inspection - worn out brake shoe(or pads). Every car owner in PA knows for these little nasty games when turns to inspection time, a good way for same extra cash. What really disappoint me was the cheaper way they did it to me, headlight on the right side needs just a minute to replace it - no battery removal or things like that - hop, pop and bum $26 down. The sidemarker bulb even worse - the bulb was left into the housing - say YES on the proposal and you got over paid for your old one. The brake shoes were old but not worn out as they state it - sure, I've to change them too if want to pass the inspection. Just the wiper blades remark was a true and if that was the only mark I was willing to give my money and get it fix by them. If someone is not comfortable with the cars, I'd recommend to skip this misty place for such type of a service. don't bite like me on a coupons $39.99 State Inspection as it might cost you way more. read more

Made an appointment. Left work early to travel to get here. Called on my way, which double confirmed my appointment. Sat in waiting room for 20 minutes. Finally, i'm informed that the manager sent home the only guy in the shop that knows how to do breaks. After I left and took my car somewhere else for another opinion, I was informed that nothing was even wrong with my breaks. So either Firestone realized that and made up a dumb excuse as to why no other mechanic in there could look at my car or the manager here is really that stupid. How do you send someone home early without checking the appointment book and realizing, wait you're the only one qualified to do this job and this is who is on the schedule. Customer service and organization is lacking here. I guess everything happens for a reason though, because I was about to spend unnecessary money on another "made up" issue that these corporate places love to con you with. read more

There was a bit of a mix up ordering the tires I had asked for but man did they make up for it. Without any fuss or hassle they gave me the higher end model of the tires I was originally looking for while honoring the same quote and discount that I had seen online. They know how to take care of their customers. I will definitely go back to their store. read more

I sometimes forget to follow up with reviews regarding service but I felt it was important to make sure this shop got its recognition.y first interaction was via phone w Chad, I explained my issue w my truck to see if it was something firestone could accommodate. He was polite accurate and efficient at explaining the process and setting me up to get in. I dropped the car off the night before and by 1030 the next morning Chad was calling me to come pick it up, that the repairs were complete. At this point I decided to ad a tuneup to the visit since I already had it at the shop, no problem he said give them Til 2... I arrive a quarter of 2, the truck was done and I was ready to check out. Chad informed me he only charged me for the portion of the tuneup that was necessary because the rest wasn't needed. Now any other shop would've taken the opportunity to run up the bill, especially being as I'm a woman and most of us don't know jack about our cars. That alone will have me bring me and my other vehicles to see Chad. The shop was clean, the service was good quality, prompt and professional. One less headache of my chaotic week ahead.
