Do not come here. This place is unwelcoming, staff is flat out rude, and they couldn't be bothered less with an OFFER they had on their website. I had gotten a link online for a FREE BRAKE INSPECTION. Just a basic inspection (measuring rotor/drum wear and brake fluid test) They're offering this from March 1st-31st. I set an appointment for March 8th at 1:00 pm. I come in 10 minutes early and most staff is on the phone so I walk up to one of them and he says he will get to me in a moment, so I wait and once he's done, he asks what I need. I tell him my name and my appointment, he looks it up and says, "keys". Off putting but still hand him my keys and then he asks why do I feel like I need an inspection. Truth be told, my brake was spongy and I just wanted to see if it had anything to do with my drums,rotors,brake fluid etc; Once I explained he immediately told me that I didn't "want" an inspection, and that what I "wanted" was a diagnostic and that'd it run me $160. Immediately I'm shocked because again I just wanted what's in the free offer, and I wasn't expecting them to tell me specifically why my brake was spongy or to fix it, I just wanted the inspection done and if something was wrong during that then I'd have them look into it further. But the man just refused and said that would not solve my problem. I told him "I understand that, I'm not asking you to fix it or to tell my why brake is spongy, I just want the free inspection done just in case," and he still sat there arguing with me that no it'll be a diagnostic, so $160. I just told him to give me my keys and I left. I went outside, baffled for a minute, and I thought maybe I read the offer wrong who knows? I go back and see and nope it says what I think it says "will measure rotor/drum wear and perform a brake fluid test" so I GO BACK into the store and show him the offer and read word for word. And he still looks at me and continues to say it'll be a diagnostic, I just wanted the free inspection. So all I had was my time wasted when I could've gotten it checked somewhere else with no problem! STAY AWAY FROM HERE. P.S. I called the manager afterwards and he said that his employee was only "explaining" that the inspection won't guarantee that I might find out why my brake is spongy and that it might not even have anything to do with my drums/rotors/brake fluid etc: again, I UNDERSTAND THAT, but I just wanted the offer done which was to get my rotors/drums checked and my brake fluid checked. I've brought all of our vehicles to this location for the lifetime alignment. Generally have no problems. If the car is newer, there's rarely an issue. You get the alignment and leave. Older car, is a crap shoot. Sometimes I'll take my older car in and they'll do what needs to be done and make a few recommendations. Other times, I've been handed a wish list of thousands. Sometimes, they're necessary for safety issues. If it's too much more than expected, I'll go get a second opinion. Sometimes the recommendations are the same, other times I've been told to save my money. So I'll continue to get alignments from here. Location is pretty busy and it's close to the interstate, so it's not unheard of for a car to be bumped, even if it's a scheduled appointment. read more

I know how car repair reviews go... you come to Yelp to gripe about what they did wrong. I get it!! But not this location, this Firestone has been our go-to location since we have been married. The staff are always so helpful and honest. That can be hard to find!! We have a Firestone card that gives us 0% interest for six months which is amazing, a huge blessing for sure. Highly disappointed in the service here recently! I scheduled an appointment a few weeks ago to have my oil changed, tires rotated and balanced, brakes changed, and wheel alignment! I dropped my vehicle off on the morning of August 26th and went to pick it up on the evening of August 27th. At this point all they managed to do was change my oil, but was prepared to charge me for everything else! I expressed my discontent and the service technician was very apologetic. So I scheduled another appointment for September 15th to get everything else completed. I asked will it be ready by tomorrow because I leave for out of town Sunday. The gentleman replied by saying yes! Fast forward today, it's 4:30pm and I haven't heard anything saying my vehicle was ready. I decided to head over since they close at 6:00pm. When I arrived I saw my vehicle in the garage and thought that it was almost complete but to my surprise they have not even started. I asked the same gentleman man from the day before what's going on with my vehicle and he replied it will be ready Sunday! I reminded him that he confirmed it would be ready today, but could not provide an explanation for it! Avoid this location at all cost!! I came in to the Pelham, AL location to get an oil change and walked up to one of the two service people. I asked about a standard oil change and Shaun, who I was not talking to, tried to tell me my car could only get synthetic. That it would be unable to take standard oil. This is not the manufacturers recommendation, so I said as much. Jamie, who I was talking to, tried to cover saying, "since it's what Firestone recommends they have to say it and that the work would not be "guaranteed or covered" if I thereafter chose a standard oil change". My car takes a standard oil change. Full stop. The idea that Firestone would not cover what the manufacturer says is correct is B.S. Shaun tried to talk at me at random all the rest of my visit, addressing me by name. Not to smooth it over,--he seemed bored; trying to agitate me further for fun. There was another person waiting; he never addressed them at any point. As I waited, they discussed with each other how a customer had called prior about several services they had asked to have done that didn't seem complete after they'd left. Shaun bought up how the mechanic had finished all four things that included an oil change, tire rotation, and etc. in under 30 minutes. Jamie agreed it was way too fast and he COULD NOT have done the work. It seemed clear they had vouched for the work but were talking about how there was no chance it was actually done. Not that they would say anything about it or do anything about it, just that it was clearly a lie they had vouched for to the customer. After this, Shaun took a call where the customer apparently asked if Firestone did a particular tire service for his truck type. Shaun scheduled it, but once off the phone, bad talked the customer with Jamie participating. They both talked about what an idiot the customer was for wanting that kind of tire work done and how it would cause huge issues with their vehicle. Again, just like the first conversation, right out loud like the other person and myself were not there in the waiting room. Never suggesting to the customer it was cause an issue ...just a "come in at x time". This would have been weird if I didn't remember Shaun were objecting to the online coupon I had for my service. I guess if you're willing to pay full price, to hell with what Firestone will/ won't guarantee, right. I was up against a travel deadline and needed this oil change (and watched my car like a hawk during the service), but who would want to come back here for service. read more

Terrible. Unqualified technicians. I took my car there for rear brakes. Dropped it off Sunday morning, they called me Tuesday afternoon telling me it would be $500 and ready the next day. They also recommended a battery and I said okay if it needs it replace it and also while it's there do an oil change and rotate the tires. I paid $1000 for this and picked it up Wednesday evening. I drove the car home and back and forth to work Thursday and Friday. Saturday I was driving and the car would not start after I turned it iff. I open the hood and check the new battery that they just charged me $338 for installing and the positive cable was loose. It had not been tightened up after the installation. I washed the car today and noticed that the tires had not been rotated. I had 1 tire that was a different name brand than the others (due to a flat that couldn't be repaired last month) this tire was in the same position on the car. So to sum it up they can't be trusted. They are either incompetent or just completely committing fraud by telling people they are doing things that they are billing them for and not doing them. I will never return there. read more

**Edit, 11/18/18: I have removed 3 stars because I was just made aware that this location does not service transmissions on vehicles with over 50,000 miles. That is ridiculous. As far as I am concerned that displays a lack of confidence in the abilities of the staff, parts, and methodology used to service a transmission. Firestone, please correct this. How can you include the phrase "complete auto care" in your name and refuse to offer this basic, necessary service? Ludicrous. I have come here a few times now and I am happy with the work I have received. Normally I make an appointment, but even when I do not, they work to accommodate my service needs. I appreciate how quickly and professionally all of my service has been, as well as how friendly, courteous, and helpful, all of the employees have been. They gave me confidence that they were doing their best to serve my vehicles needs. This location has free coffee! I look forward to working with them in the future for any automotive services that I may need while I am in the Pelham and Alabaster area. I can not recommend recommend this location to anyone who is in need of automotive service in light of recent knowledge about their refusal to service transmissions. It's also worth noting that my experience with Firestone Complete Auto Care now includes 4 locations in 3 different states, and my experience at all of them has been above what I expected. There is not a location that I would not recommend. Of course a time may come when everything does not workout in my favor, perhaps a part may be delayed through no fault of the employees, but when it does I will remember the excellent service they have provided so far. read more

Brought my car in basically 2 hours in before closing and was personally told it would be ready by 7pm. Come back to pick my car up at 6:50 and was told it had not even be pulled and was just now about to be pulled. I was not called nor notified that it would not be ready by closing time!!! read more

I stopped by on a Sunday morning to drop off a tire for it to get changed. They told me it would be ready the next day by noon. I called at noon to make sure it was ready they asked me to give them 30 more minutes. Instead, I gave them an hour and a half. When I showed up at 1:30 they had not even started on the tire. They did ask me to give them five minutes and they would have it ready for me. Five minutes turned into 40 minutes. When I asked about my tired they said they were still working on it to give them a couple more minutes. What was supposed to be me stopping by to pick up a tire turned out to be an hour and a half wait in the parking lot. read more

I came in with a nail in my Firestone tire. I sat for over a 2 hours and they had not looked at the tire. They were more concerned with selling people new tires. A gentleman came in just after me with the same problem and was out in 30 minutes. I have never had this problem at the Firestone I normally do business with. 2 and a half hours to fix a tire. I dropped my car off and was quoted 2-3 hours. I called 4 hours later only to be told that they had not started on my car and they couldn't be sure how much longer it would be. beware of getting tires mounted here! Brought 4 new goodyear tires in to have mounted on my BMW and have had to go back twice to get fixed (needed to go for a third but decided to cut my losses). First after about a day the rear passenger tire was flat as can be. Turned out to have not been sealed correctly. They blamed this on not cleaning the old sealant off the rim which 'isn't included in mounting fees'. Never heard of this, but okay since they fixed for free. About 3 weeks later my car is throwing low tire warnings after about a day of driving. Take it back and they apparently they didn't screw the valve stem in all the way on the front drivers side. No problem they fixed it right in the parking lot. Now for the kicker. About a week later the front passenger tire starts throwing low tire warnings. take the stem valve cover off and low and behold the stem valve isnt screwed in all the way. i thought. Had a neighbor with the tool to screw it in and when he tries nothing happens. Turns out they stripped the inner part of the valve stem and it is barely held in and not able to tighten. The bad thing is i now have to replace the TPMS sensor since you cant rebuild the stems without replacing the whole thing. SO in conclusion go there at your own risk. Maybe i got 2nd rate service since i didn't buy the tires there, but will never use again regardless. read more

Absolutely livid with the care (or lack of) that was taken with my vehicle. I have beige interior and received my car back with black stains on my console and driver's seat. It is so ridiculous that anyone would think this is acceptable when returning a car back to a customer that has purchased most lifetime services that are available. I would NOT recommend being a patron to this business if you care about the care that is given to your vehicle. read more
