I have been with this store since 1996. I've always rated it 4stars. Not today. I don't know where the old staff went since October but the main greater Philip was horrible. Came in to have my tire checked. Their tires, warrantee etc. He Tried to sell me whatever he could! I wouldn't bite on new tires (don't need them yet). I wouldn't bite on a once a year air filter ( I'll wait for oil change). I wouldn't bite on a new tire senser ( I'll wait for new tires in May). Then, to top it off wanted to charge $23+ for checing out their tire. When I questioned why, he gave me an attitude & handed me my keys, So disappointed in them. read more

They charged my girlfriend $860 for a new starter that costs $151. I get there are other fees like the $50 tow and $80 in labor but the piece itself they charged almost $600. firestone said I needed a timing belt. I took it to 3 other mechanics for inspections and every other company said the timing belt was fine. it costs 3 grand for a new belt that I don't even need. I'm so glad I did not trust Firestone. I did happen to get an oil change with them that day. so today was the day I needed another oil change and when taking off the oil filter, I realize Firestone gave me one way smaller then a regular oil filter for my car. I will never return to this location again avoid at all cost. I would give a zero star if possible. read more

I had to get a couple of tires and I have the lifetime alignment there so I set up the appointment for service as I've been coming to this location for many years with several cars. Everything was fine until I got in and my car wouldn't start. The technician gave me a jump start and said what happened is when they do an alignment they have to run all the accessories and it drains the battery.Then he said they tested the battery and it was dead and asked if I had any issues with it lately and I said no. I actually did my oil change 4 days beforehand and they didn't advise me of a low battery and they always do it safety check. I wish you would have had the wherewithal to charge the battery afterwards to prevent the issue if you have good business practice is all, previous loyal customer. read more

I like Firestone's and use them often, although this was my first visit to this location. I left my car here to get a new brake booster installed and 1 new tire. It was dropped off after closing and within 2 days they had the part in and installed and the new tire on and all was good to go. They told me they couldn't do it and referred me to a place I knew had a shady reputation from my time working in towing. I took it to another mechanic, they replaced my bearing and fixed the entire issue. I've been driving the car for over 6 months now and had two other mechanics look at it, neither found the "entire front end" at all. I've brought my car here by choice a couple times. One time, it took them over 2 weeks to fix my ac. They incorrectly diagnosed my problem and fixed the wrong part originally, after I showed them it still was not fixed they had me bring my car back and few days later and then they held onto it for 5 more days before it was taken care of. In the end, I discovered that my Bluetooth was broken in the car, when they took apart my cabin console they messed up the computer system and now my Bluetooth no longer works. The first time I brought my car here it was for an oil change, I dropped it off when they opened and didn't get it back till the following day. If you bring your car here they will almost certainly take longer than a day to fix it, even for a simple oil change. read more

On four separate occasions I scheduled an appointment on line (7700 49 St N. Pinellas Park). Each time I chose the earliest time slot, usually on the same day or one time was for the day after I went on line. Each time I received an email indicating they were checking the availability of my requested appointment. Today (3/10/23), about 90 minutes later I received a follow up email indicating the time was not available. I then attempted to reschedule on line and got a message saying I already had an appointment. Don't know how long I would have waited for a COURTESY phone call as I do not live at my computer, I was just busy doing other business when I saw the firestone email. I called the store to ask two things. The first thing I mentioned the on line scheduler showed multiple openings for the remainder of Friday, all of Saturday, and all of Sunday. I would like the earliest appointment available. Tom, the tire tech., told me "maybe Sunday or Monday." I told him this was the 4th time there has been a problem with the on line system and asked for a customer service number. He told me this has been a years long issue and did not have a customer service number. I asked to speak with a manager. I was put on hold and in less than a minute someone else got on the phone and without introducing himself said "Do you want to set an appointment for Sunday or Monday?" My response was "No, but. . ." at which time the person said something like "I CAN'T HELP YOU" and hung up the phone. Totally uncalled for. If this is the best Firestone has got, Wal-Mart is looking pretty good. Update. I received a call from the store manager Tim late in the day. He was open to what I had to say and receptive to my concern. He said he would deal with the issue and apologized for the way I was treated. 3/11/2023 I received a call from the person who was rude and hung up on me. He was very apologetic explaining the stressors of the day. He said that was not an excuse however and appeared to be very humble. Because of the apology taken, I added a star to the review. Not a fan. Only reason they get 2 stars is because they actually corrected their screw up and didn't make an additional charge. My husband got his tires rotated here last week. Not only did it take forever, but he had tire problems less than a week later. They screwed on the lug nuts too tight to the point where they snapped off when he tried to remove the tire. Had to get the car towed to the shop for them to correct it. Waste of time and $$. Save yourself the headache and go the Big Tires and More down the road. read more

The customer service I received was like nothing I've experienced anywhere in my life. I dropped my car off for an overheated thermostat, the water pump and coolant hoses were also damaged. Knowing this already I was expecting a mechanic to still go over an estimate with me. Nada. I got a call with no voicemail. After calling back I gave my name and the mechanic said "That'll be 932$ can we get started?" Nothing was explained to me, no price breakdown, no invoice, nothing. When my wife returned to pick up my keys she was also treated with blatant disrespect by a rude white older gentleman with thinning hair. Had a flat that needed replaced, took in the wheel in perfect condition, freshly cleaned and ceramic coated from the night before. I pick it up with huge scratches on the inside barrel. In a poor attempt to cover it up black spray paint was used. As if I weren't going to notice or care because it was the inside of the wheel. I was never notified via phone call, or even when I picked it up. I had to find it myself. They have offered to pay for it to be fixed, however I'm not sure if I can even trust their source for fixes. I do not recommend using their services. If they have good deals on tires, go for it, but have another shop do the install. read more

Never asked them to touch the AC but apparently they said they took it out & put it back in. Asked multiple experts who said the AC doesn't just get damaged overnight and that it goes bad gradually. I came in for an alignment and wheel balance. The tech realized hat aligning the car wasn't possible without replacing the tie rod end link. That was fine with me, I had the part on hand because I was planning to refresh the front steering/suspension at a later date so I supplied the part and instructed them to use it. I go to get the car back and they not only have damaged 13/20 of my lug nuts by over torquing them clearly via the use of an impact gun but have completely ruined one. I specifically told the person taking my car to use a click style torque wrench because the lug nuts were aluminum and can be easily stripped. They clearly lied to my face when telling me they would do so as evidence to the damage done. In addition to that, they also CHARGED me for the part I supplied. No explanation or mention to me that they damaged a majority of my lug nuts and they didn't provide me to see that they had overcharged me. After I paid I was able to look online and found that they overcharged me. I've been to other Firestone locations before and didn't even think to check my vehicle over until I got home because I'd never had issues before. I deeply regret not going to those ones even though this one was a little closer. EXTREMELY dissatisfied but doubt a chain or it's workers even cares to make it right. I needed to get my wheel alignment done, and I noticed that Firestone had a lifetime wheel alignment agreement available. At first, I was a little hesitant to purchase it as I thought it was a good sales tactic to bring customers in so they can claim "this is broken, that needs to be replaced" and up charge me on services I do not need. But I took the gamble, and went in. Let me tell you this: I must have used this agreement over 10 times at this location and never did any employee there try to sell me anything I did not need! This location and its team have always treated me with respect and were always professional. The waits weren't long either. If I made an appointment, I was always in and out of their shop within 45 min to an hour. Please make sure to come in next time you need to get your wheel alignment done. Brought my car in for tires Friday, got two in the back. As soon as I drove off Friday afternoon the car veered to the right, extremely... this didn't happen before I brought it here. Made an appt for Monday. Monday they said they need to align them, I said do it. Picked it up Monday afternoon, still veered. Went back, he said come back tomorrow morning. Came back Tuesday morning, was told two guys checked it out it doesn't veer. I drove away, still veers. I asked for a tech to ride with me, I said see, it veers with in seconds. He said let me take it on the roads I drove it on, I said the road is going to make it not veer.... BS.. He said take it back to the shop and let me take it. I put the car in park and said here switch now drive us to your roads. He said if you don't take me to the shop now I'm going to call the cops... First of all, for what?? second with what?? I drove back to the shop, let him drive to "his roads, it did the same damn thing" ... like I said it would, then he back peddled and said well it's going to veer a little, I said it veers completely into the right lane quickly. Zero would have been a better rating, but that's not possible. The absolute worst tire place I've ever taken a car. I set my appointment online with what I needed to have done and got an email confirmation and received a phone call also confirming everything. So far so good. Nothing good happened after that. I went to drop off our car at our appointment time and had to give all my information again to the guy behind the counter and tell them what needed to be done. Replace the two rear tires and do an oil change. Pretty simple. It took 15 minutes to check in when I should have been able to hand them my keys and walk away. They called two hours later to say it was ready and we drove back to pick it up. We were in the process of paying when we discovered that they put four new tires on our car. Hold up, I stood there for 15 minutes checking in to have them still screw it up. Two tires and an oil change is all we needed. Here's the best part, no apology or saying "sorry we messed up". Bob, customer service guy, said we'll pull it back in and swap the tires and then Bob walked off to the service area and started smoking his huge e-cigarette, you know the ones that put out an entire cloud of vapor. Attention businesses-stop letting your employees use e-cigs in front of customers. 10 minutes pass with four guys standing around laughing, smoking and one guy eating with nobody touching our car. When we asked when they were going to start on our car, Bob got confrontational. He said they were working on it, when the car was still parked outside and had never been touched. If you screw up something just take care of the customer. I didn't ask for anything other than my car and a manger, but the manager was gone for the day. They swapped the two tires out and our car is finished and instead of telling us it's ready and taking care of us they keep taking care of new customers. We waited 35 minutes for them to swap the tires out, but they called me two hours ago to say our car was done. There is no customer service left in the world. read more

One the most unprofessional staffs I've ever done business with. Not just on one occasion either. Had the oil changed on my Toyota solara. They cross threaded the oil filter that leaked out enough oil to cause the low oil pressure light to come on. Called to have the vehicle check but was informed I would have to completely set up an appointment? Ended up having to put 4 qts of oil back in the car and having to take it to another shop to have it fixed. No apology or refund. Recently was having two vehicles inspected for prepurchas and set up appointments for both vehicles. Was told that the inspections would only take about an hr each. It's been 2 hours and only one car has been moved. When I inquired about why the other vehicle hadn't been touched but other vehicles that came after me and already been serviced, The sales associate became extremely hostile and told me that the appointments only worked when there was a available tech. But again there had been one that opened. Completely unprofessional staff. Every time I come here I am consistently let down by the service. We drove in from Chicago with a rental car and picked up a nail on the way down. We popped into several stores from different competitors...but no one was willing to help us and shooed us away because (unbeknownst to us) the rental company we chose is difficult for shops to work with. Luckily the wonderful staff at Firestone was ready and willing to help. As we dealt with the headache of our rental company allowing the work to be done the men at Firestone eased our troubles with their prompt and friendly service. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone in the area...the staff is super nice and organized and the actual shop itself is nice and clean! Thank you so much! read more

I came here two weeks ago and they were able to change some hoses and distributer cap for less than 700. My car has been running good since. I just called to check on getting an oil change and I explained to the guy that Im getting a friends car done before she gets back from her vacation, all I know is it's a Nissan. "What model" he asks. "I don't know" I replied and explained, again, that it's not my car I was just shopping for the best price to which he responds "oh my god". Excuse me??? Your job is to help me, not make me feel inadequate for not knowing everything that makes your job easier, but considering that you do this on a daily basis I was assuming I could get a ball park price. He then explained the price in which they start and the additional cost in case the car held more. Voila. All that should have been said as soon as I explained the situation. This was the MOST ridiculous experience I have had in 30 years of oil changes...was told I would have to wait THREE HOURS for an oil change because I did not have an appointment...and they were "SUPER BUSY" (with only 3 appointments ahead of me and 4 employees in back?!?). This obviously caught me off guard as an oil change takes 15-20 minutes- to which he responded "not if you're doing if 'right'". Ummm if it takes you much more than 15-20 minutes to do an oil change YOU are doing it wrong buddy and are too incompetent be anywhere near my car. Firestone writes the wrong date on tire warranty then almost refused to honor it until I suggested they check the numbers on the tire. Oops, right warranty, our mistake. An hour and half later the tire is repaired but they tried to convince us it couldn't be fixed and we needed to pay to replace it! But it was still under warranty! We waited even though we made an appointment but a young girl drives up and two mechanics couldn't get her on the lift faster. A middle age man comes in half an hour before her and they tell him he has to leave the car and come back 4 hours later, for the oil change he needed. I watched them fall over themselves to get the girl and they knew it. Under the light of obvious discrimination, suddenly the man's oil change is only going to take an hour. I tell him the confusion over the warranty upsets me because of my mental illness and he says he's a dumb blond! No, really I'm a disabled veteran. "Oh I'm sorry I was just kidding I donate to charity and I help wounded warriors, so I understand that stuff really well " was his response. This is from the store manager (he's about 5'8 190lbs, white, thinning blonde hair in his 40's) watch out for this guy and his mechanic friend because the two will sell their soul to make a buck for the company. I had a slow leak in one of my tires. Even though my road hasard warranty didn't show up on the computer, I showed them my copy of the receipt listing it and they honored it without any further qustions. Also, they found a sharp screw in the tread and plugged it. I had an appointment, so total time in the door and out again was only about 40 minutes. Thank you! read more

This place is not the palace to go if you need any thing done in a timely matter. Stopped in on a Saturday needed two tires put on a car I just bought was taken it on a three hour ride back home. Called said they had the tires dropped car off said it would be an hour went and took a long lunch come back and car is still in the parking lot. Asked if there any issues said no pull car into bay and let it sit there I explain again I still have a three hour trip sales man said they are doing one tire I said impossible as all tires are still on the car. Horrible Experience at Firestone @ 7700 49th Street North Pinellas Park Florida. I have came to this place last year for tires and a breaks. They did fine then my car all of a sudden had a power steering leak. Which I brought it in, February 2018, they said I had an oil leak which was more Important to fix so parts $165 Labor $837. Wow. So I had to pay that and wait more time to fix the power steering because I dont have money like that. And now September. I had another person put on time rod which he did it wrong , that was September 1st. So I called Firestone made an appointment for Tuesday September 4th 7 am. I brought my SUV Hyundai Santa Fe 2007. In to get the rack and pinion fixed for the power steering and the tie rod fixed with a rethread, the kept my car until Wednesday September 5th at 945 am. I arrived paid $1200.00 get in my SUV to leave and hear a grinding sound which scared me so I parked it Went back In side the guy who worked on it came out and test drove it and. Said nothing was wrong. I noticed a like on my dash. I said OMG what does that mean? He said All the lights were lit when you left it, I said NO way the lights on my dash were lit up. It's been good! Well the ESC Off light was on. And he told me it's an airbag light and not to worry about it,. So I left. I got home and hour later had to leave. My SUV did the grinding jumping jerking stalling thing. So I brought it back same day he test ride again I told him he was wrong about the light he said oh yes I know I just looked it up(wtf). Well he tells me to bring it in @ 7am Thursdays September 6th . I go in to drop it off and the bald guy at counter said are you the vehicle that he rode in twice and heard absolutely nothing?!! I'm like there is grinding etc I said he needs to fix it because it was fine e before I brought it in,. Bald guy said "he NEEDS to fix it??! With an attitude I said well he told me to bring it in at 7. He said dropping off? Or staying g. I said staying. He said well it's going to take hours. WHAT!?!? Why? Because they are pissed they messed up they make me feel like and idiot and are trying to make me out a lier! I've been crying and upset. Since. Now I'm writing this. I don't know what to do because. I know they did This to my car and they are treating me like shit and being rude and putting everyone who has walked in after me before me. Excellent service from the time I walked in until finished with the work. I have an older vehicle 2005 Kia Sorento that needed tending to and they did everything to keep costs down while also tending to all needs. They even adjusted my windshield wipers as the overall mechanism is aged & probably needs replacing but with the adjustment keeps it working as expected without replacement.
