Busy place. Get an appointment before you come here. I walked in to get my tire fixed and it took me more than 2 hours of wait time to get it done. They check your vehicle as part of their service. They check your battery, levels, all tires, and give you a recommendation if something needs to be taken care for. They do a good service, they have coffee, water and magazines. Also a TV which you can turn on and pick any channel you want. If you are hungry, it's just besides Olive Garden, so an option is to drop you car, eat and come back when they call you. read more

I've been here a couple times for oil changes. So easy to schedule and always on time. They tell you what your car needs and no upselling pressure. Listening to them talk to other customers I made the decision to bring my car here when it was making a weird noise. I was kept informed every step of the way. Walk in early morning as it is close to my work and my usual mechanic was not quite open yet. Had a simple question / possible 5 minute job. Waited 20 minutes at the counter before anyone spoke to me. The person that did respond was very rude and dismissive. Completely unhelpful. Moving forward, I will ALWAYS take my car back to my usual mechanic Mark and Mark Jr at CarX. Friendly, reliable, helpful. I have never had a bad experience with Mark. Reliable and trustworthy service. They have really nice tires with a good warranty and the employees are knowledgeable and nice.

Although the employees were very kind, I came in with an appointment for a simple tire change which should only take 30 minutes tops and was stuck sitting in the freezing cold waiting room for almost 3 hours. If you're looking for a quick job then I would not recommend, but if time is not an issue, then the service is good. read more

I first chose Firestone because it was walking distance to my place of employment. I made an appointment online and when I went in I explained the noise I was hearing while driving "woo woo woo". I imitated the noise and my advisor knew right away what I was describing. Considering soon I'm switching jobs and will need to commute a lot I wanted to make sure that the car was safe so I told them to do everything (oil change, inspections, tune up etc). After completing the inspections and oil change I received a call where they said that everything looks great and that they recommended spark plug changes and flush due to the miles but it wasn't absolutely necessary. I told them to go ahead and do it. When I arrived to get my car, I asked about the noise. I was told that they think it's feathering or a bearing could be going bad but they inspected and the car is safe. I was then told "I don't like to throw parts at a car and hope it fixes a problem". How refreshing because they could have done just that and increased the bill of sale. Nice guys all around. read more

I'm not too happy with the South Westnedge Firestone store. I've had problems with the quality of work there. I watched a technician throw one of my wheel covers on the floor, I raised a bit of bitching. My first oil change, the technician left the screw in oil cap off, I found it wedged between my hood and windshield. I took care of this and added oil, I caught it the day afterwords. Not long ago I had to purchase another wheel cover, evidently it blew off,,, after the tires were rotated/balanced and an engine service. That cost me $109.95 shipped to my door. My car is from FL, bet you'd be hard pressed to find one this nice. My A/C is dying a terrible death,, I am going to the Beckly Road Firestone for repairs. I believe it's in the neighborhood of $850.+ I've purchased at lease six tires, front shock absorbers,struts,alignment, battery,cooling and transmission service, and take my car back for regular tire upkeep. I had an appointment for a simple alignment at 1 pm today...they still haven't gotten my car in almost 2 hours later, while I watched other customers have no problem getting their service done. This is the second time I've had a bad experience with Firestone. Overpriced, poor service. Not coming back for a third helping of shit. read more

I had a great experience at Firestone today! The technicians were very helpful, fast and I thought they were being honest and straightforward (sometimes difficult at car repair shops!). I had shopped around a bit for some all season tires and was about to buy a full set of tires at Sams club, but I'm glad I stopped here to ask for an estimate. They were having a sale so the tires I needed were about $80 less than any other price I could find, but then they told me about a coupon they had for $100 off of $500 purchase, so I saved even more! I got a good deal on an alignment to go with the new tires and I'm super pleased with the whole experience. I will definitely recommend Firestone to anyone looking for great tires! read more

I called today to do an inspection on my car at 4pm and the guy said ok and after i came to the store at 3.45 pm he told me ok we will work on it; then he told me maybe we won't be able to work on it because my guy is working on a car now !!!! i told him i'm walking to my job so please let me know if you can't do it. I left to my work and at 6.45 i called my friend to pick up my car so he get someone with him to help to find out that the guy didn't touch the car!!! at least call me to let me know and don't give me an appointment if you can't work on it!!!! read more

Went in to have a noise checked that I thought was coming from the brakes. They informed me it was a normal sound. Took it to a different Firestone on Saturday because the noise was getting worse and found out I had an extremely loose tire. I will never go here again. I also wouldn't have done a review on Yelp, but I did a customer survey and said I didn't want to be contacted by Firestone after the survey and they still called me on Sunday to find out what was wrong. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! read more

I visited my local Firestone store for the second time since moving to this area a decade ago. The service was great. I got the service I originally went for and installed shocks as well. The most significant thing that impressed me was the service reps I dealt with. After my vehicle was given the once over and needed repairs were identified by the technician, there was no hard sell. The customer service rep made me feel comfortable in deciding what I wanted to get done and when. I don't like feeling like I'm being pushed into anything. Well, bottom line the Portage, MI Firestone Store has a new regular customer and I plan on scheduling appointments to make the repairs they identified I needed. Thanks guys, you're awesome. p.s.
