Few weeks ago, my car was on the fritz. The alarm kept going off, the sensors were all over the place and I didn't need to have my alarm going off every 20 minutes. Dealerships were unavailable for an appointment and Firestone came through at the last moment when we called. We brought Herbie in, they took a look and advised that the key fobs are the issue and they most likely needed to be replaced. The manager was extremely professional and took care of us without charging us for their time. We were not expecting to not be charged because to me, time is money, and we were very appreciative for their help at the last minute on a Friday afternoon. Brake job; front. vehicle at 71000 miles. Never an issue; just replaced because of pads low, (level 4). Ok so they said caliper piston was 'sticking', ok replace them. Then showed a photo of a dipstick showing 1 qt low on oil. Recommended change oil, however last oil change was 1200 miles ago. Got home; checked oil, oil is fine. Next 'replace brake fluid'; checked fluid in reservoir after 'service'; dirty fluid. I did well with tires plus in Florida; but these guys in Queensbury are into nickel and dimeing; if not bait and switching their customers. Prior, the same store; I asked for a transmission filter change. Quoted a price, and had the audacity to charge extra for new transmission fluid... I spent a lotta money with Firestone in the past and they were very honest people. These guys in Queensbury are to be avoided in my experienced opinion. read more

Firestone clearly doesn't value their customers' time, so don't feel bad about wasting theirs. Our car broke down on the way home from a family vacation, and this location was the only one open within a reasonable distance, so we had it towed there. They only managed to read the engine codes before closing and promised to call the next morning with an update--but I never received a call. After two unanswered calls to check on the status, I had to go in person around 1pm to finally get an answer. At that point, they told me they needed to order a part but couldn't provide a clear timeline for when my car would be ready. We had already extended our vacation a day due to the issue, and waiting around Lake George for an indefinite amount of time was simply not an option. So, I called Warren Tire based on the recommendation of the Lyft driver I used to take me to the Firestone and they were able to take my car the same day and promised to have it fixed by the end of the following day. While Firestone being open was convenient, it ultimately didn't matter, as it took them 24 hours just to identify and communicate the problem to me. I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere and supporting local shops that actually value their customers' time. read more

Stopped in on Friday for an inspection, I was told they wouldn't be able to get to it today and recommended I drop it off and leave it. They called and left me a voicemail Saturday afternoon to inform me that the vehicle was ready to be picked up, I returned their call Sunday morning to let them know I got their voicemail, but I wouldn't be able to pick it up until the following day (Monday). I was put on hold and when he came back on the line he told me that was fine. When I came in to get the car the next day, I was informed I was being charged an extra $275 for a storage fee. No one informed me about this fee through any of our correspondences. They wouldn't release the vehicle to me unless I paid, or I could speak to the manager, who wouldn't be in until the next day. I had to call corporate and make a complaint in order to have my vehicle released to me without having to pay the storage fee. When I finally came back to pick it up, they had me wait about 40 minutes to ring me out for $21, which seemed purposeful... and they apparently don't accept $100 bills- so they told me to go across the street to get change from the gas station. Be wary of leaving your vehicle here, they are scammy con artists/crooks. read more

The service is ok I guess, my reason for saying that is this. I called and asked about how much it would cost for front brakes and rotors was quoted from $250 to $500 for my car. Was told to bring it in and they can look at it. I get here mf takes my car for a test drive,when he gets back they proceeded to take off all 4 tires to look at the back rotors and brakes as well. Never asked to look at the back brakes. My issues is if I asked for front brakes why tf are you looking at my back brakes. Then you come to me with these high ass ridiculous prices when I can get the problems done cheaper. If doing to much was a thing this Firestone would have to be it. Front brakes and rotors for a 2010 Honda Accord over $500 fuck outta here. It's so hard finding a honest mechanic who won't rape the shit out of you. read more

I took my car to the shop. Diagnostic fee $130+ understandable for high end places. What's not understandable is a $2300 quote for a remanned AC compressor, belt, R-134 recharge(parts and labor). I was told parts were the most expensive. 8$ difference between parts a labor via printed quote so not sure how that makes sense. To top it off, their finest mechanics left the splash shield hanging after I declined to pay their price gouging offer. Folks this issue isn't rocket science. I paid $350 for all these parts and a very knowledgeable man not affiliated with this shoppe $200 plus tip for 1 hr 30 mins of labor(including short telephone breaks). Only difference is the AC compressor is new and not remanned. Don't let the manager pull one over on you, get a second opinion like I did. I setup a appointment online for a alignment. I received a confirmation stating the time, date, and that I will be waiting for the vehicle. I arrive for my appointment and they say we'll call you when the truck is done. I specifically made the appointment for customer waiting. I regret I didn't get his name, but he tells me that he changed it to a drop off. He shows me on his computer that he changed it. Like I need to see that he changed something I setup online. He said I can wait if I want from my original appointment time which was 9, to sometime "around" 4. I've been to other firestones and never had a issue with making appointments. Horrible customer service at this location and I will definitely not return to this location. I called another Firestone call was transferred to a appointment company which set me up for a 12 same day appointment. Good so I thought. I called the location again to confirm and they told me they have no appointments available till a week from now. So basically don't make appointments online, nor deal with their appointment company. My nightmare with these guys began back on 03/27/2021 when I had my car towed there because I have car shield insurance on my car and they require you to use a shop with an ASE certified mechanic, which firestone is the only shop around that has an ASE certified mechanic. This review is for my wife. She took her car down to this shop to get inspected. She proceeds to call me on the phone saying that the front tint needed to be removed. I have done this before and it takes all of about 5 to 15 minutes to do this task, razor blade and maybe a heat gun. They proceeded to charge her 125 bucks to remove tint on TWO front windows!!!! Anyone that does tint knows that this is a complete rip off. I called spoke to the service manager and he states that it's half out labor per side. He begins to cut me off and we begin shouting at each other. I've worked on cars for 20+ years and never have I seen this type of taking advantage of. Stay away from this shop! To top it all off, they wanted to charge her to put the license plates on. VERY poor customer service, we will not be going back. read more

Brought my car here to find the problem after sliding into a curb due to weather. They told me it will be $20 to look over the car and another $20 to check the alignment, I told them the alignment doesn't need to be checked it's clearly off. When I went to pick my car up they tried to tell me it would be $45 when I pointed out I told them not to check alignment the manager said "don't bring your car here again then" that threw me off when I said "excuse me how can you tell me To not bring my car back I'm just pointing out the price difference?" Spending the night in Queensbury with and kids seemed imminent. Enter Fred J, store manager. I spoke to Fred and he was willing to wait around until after closing. I did get the car in around 6. I am very nervous taking my vehicle to new places for service but had little choice yesterday. Went to go run a few errands and my car would not start, I was able to charge the battery and get it started at home but knew I needed a new battery. Went to Sears because the warranty offered on Die Hard batteries is top notch. Come to learn that Sears does not make a battery for my SUV nor can they order one. So I thought I should just replace the battery myself, went to AutoZone, and Advanced Auto and same story, they do not carry a battery for my SUV nor could either place order me one. I looked at the brand of battery in my SUV and saw it was an interstate battery. Went on their website and it listed Firestone as a dealer for Interstate. Long story short Firestone had a brand new battery in my SUV within an hour. Not sure why 3 other places couldn't do it but Firestone could. After talking to the techs and service manager I would actually feel good about having all my routine car maintenance done at Firestone, it is obvious they hire only knowledgeable people and I would trust them fully to work on my Range Rover. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP! I brought my car into them in March paid a $1000 worth of work. Car started acting up again in June. I paid $400 for the work. Picked up my car from the shop...THE NEXT DAY MY CAR IS OVERHEATING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. They swear they checked everything. They charge me for the tow and some more work done. I picked up the car from the shop...AND THE NEXT DAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE THERMOSTAT STOPPED WORKING. I brought my car to a Chevy dealership, they fixed it in 1 day and I've had no problems since. The car runs beautifully. This shop doesn't know what they're doing, and if they do know what they're doing, they're scamming people for money. I want to start with a positive the young man that took my money was kind. Vincent is his name he tried to give me a positive experience my first time at Firestone. I really needed brakes I had a coupon...... sure my car needed other things they all do when they are 7 years old. So a big list with items and a price of 1,600 was presented to me! Wow is this so when I pay $517.90 for rotars and breakpads I will feel like I got a deal? I had a coupon for $50.00! I had another coupon for diagnostics for sensor they would not honor that although they ran a diagnostic for a warning light. All in all I would never go here again because I paid too much! Friends were texting me what they paid for same service $375.00 and less. So I only recommend going here if you want to pay lots more for services! You can't rush perfection. I had an appointment to get my front brakes replaced under warranty. I was there for 3 hours while they turned (resurfaced) the brakes that a Firestone in NJ installed. They were vibrating after just 7,000 miles. Yes, I was there for a long time, but when I got my truck back, the brakes felt PERFECT. I've went to Firestone many times for simple repairs and have always had a good experience. That was until today. I just moved and decided to try out this Firestone. When I called I spoke with "Bart". He was not informative at all and very rude. I excused the phone encounter to being just that, a misunderstanding on the phone. I drove over to have my car looked at later in the day like I was told to do. When I got there, I again ran into Bart. He was just as rude face to face as he was on the phone. I was here for a inspection on 10-21-19 I was told i failed inspection due to front brake pads and rotors, a broken coil over the shocks in the front, that i needed new tires as well. The quote for duralast gold pads and new rotors was 403.68. They never gave me a quote ln coil repair. I declined to allow them to make the repairs, i went to autozone who has duralast pads, and rotors, i paid 260 dollars for front and rear pads and rotors, alot less for all 4 wheels compared to what they quoted me for just 2! I brought my car home, and all 4 of my existing pads where already brand new! The shocks were not cracked anywhere! Good try Firestone, i seen alot of these reviews are true about you guys trying to rip people off. I also witnesses them telling another customer that they were only shop intown with a diagnostic tool for the car, and it would take 2 hours to scan the computer! Another lie. Then a woman wanted to see what caused a flat in her tire, she wanted to see what they removed, they guy Vince kept avoiding the question, but the woman was set on seeing it. So he tells her it was just a screw and she insists on seeing it, he comes back and i hear her say thats a awfully shiny screw for being in my tire, i could still use it, looks brand new! Beware of firestone on Glen street glens falls ny!. They will try and get you to replace brandnew parts thinking you wont ever find out. For a inspection i was there over an hour close to 2 hours. After a half hour and a print out of why it failed, i was there another 45 miniutes waiting for them to pull my car out, while they all hung out drinking coffee. When i wanted to see the coil and bad brakes they said wheels where already back on. So i habe no idea what took them so long. I got tires on at another shop directly after leaving here and paid 200 dollars less for them. All around bad buisness, incompetent work, bad customer service! Needed a tire repair after clipping a curb. Triple a guy tried his hardest but could not get the lugs off. Ended up needing a new tire, manager was helpful in finding a good tire at a reasonable price, said it would take about a half hour and amazingly it did! All it takes is one person to be a jerk. I have a credit account with Firestone and sometimes they can be competitive. Between 3 different vehicles I've spent a fare share over the course of time. A couple weeks ago I took my Moms car which is a 2004 Grand Am to this location on RT.9 in Queensbury because the windshield fluid was leaking out over the course of two days. I dealt with "Bart" at the counter who couldn't give me a price on the part for whatever reason. I asked him if someone could take a look at it and he said I'd need to make an appointment or it would take at least an hour if I wanted to wait. Meanwhile I see 3 techs talking to each other in the work bays and another that was thumbing through papers listening to the conversation. So I asked again if someone could just take a quick look..and this is just great: Bart tells me "there's other people here and we can't just drop what we're doing for you" ..after that I told him to have a good day and left. As I'm walking to the car I still see the techs in the work bays standing around talking. The next day I took the car somewhere else and it took 9 minuets to figure out that it was a bad hose. They ordered it and installed it 2 days later along with a few other preventive maintenance things I had them do totaling $520. $520 that Firestone in Queensbury didn't get because Bart was an asshole to me. read more

After my exhaust split apart at a joint they brought me in and recommended a whole new exhaust system, they said a huge portion was missing new flange would not be possible. They said he had something he could try and did that and told me to get it tightened at my local garage when I got home,when I did me garage told me that I was overcharged for a new flange. After a complaint they did refund me the amount the exceeded on the estimate. But be wary of overcharging and unnecessary repairs if you use these guys. read more
