I have gone here twice, the first time for a tail light that was out, they proceeded to break the internal tail light clips while changing the bulb and I was driving around for months with the taillight partially hanging out, I ended up taking it elsewhere to replace the part. Then today I come in at 4 pm for an oil change appointment they tell me it'll be an hour, I walk down to get a coffee and come back an hour and a half later and the car hasn't moved from the lot they tell me it'll be another hour and if I'm upset about it I should leave, like bro, I already waited an hour and a half I'm not leaving? Meanwhile the guys up front are chopping it up sitting around doing nothing. Despite the 2 hours they had they said they couldn't change the other taillight that when out recently and could only do the oil change tonight. Go somewhere else for service. read more

5 stars! They had open communication & complete transparency that it would take 2hrs to inspect the car. I go in, let them know it's my brother's car, it's making a high screeching noise. It took less than the estimated time and Santino not only communicated the problem (break pads worn out/scraping metal), but showed me the difference between what a break pad should look like vs what the car had. After that, I discussed I needed to go back home to Sj asap due to my schedule for the day, and they worked in light-speed !! They lied and wasted my time today. My appointment for wheel alignment and tire rotation was at 10:00 AM. I brought my car in at about 9:00 AM then left it there to be picked up in the afternoon. I called at 1:00 pm to check the status of the car. The person over the phone said its on the rack being worked on. So I proceeded to the store to just wait on it. I arrived at 1:45 pm to find out no work was performed on the car and it was never on the rack. I said to the person behind the counter that its always best to tell the truth no matter what. I had oild changes for two cars (2010 Lexus RX350 and 2014 Honda Accord LX) last week. I checked the oild and noticed that both cars were overfilled up to 1 quart of oil. I called and mentioned that to Michael today, 10/23/24, and Michael told me to bring both cars and he checked and removed some oil to be below the MAX level. With Michael's attitudes, professionalism, and his prompt services, I would give him 6 stars (Instead of 5 stars) for his excellent services. This is the second time I've made an appointment to have my car serviced, and they leave my car parked for almost an hour or more before they do a 20-minute service. Honestly, they make me feel like I'm wasting my time and are very inconsiderate. I don't understand their appointment scheduling system. Making an appointment is supposed to be so you can arrive, spend that time with your car, and then leave. Not only that, the new manager and his new staff show no interest in providing good service or empathy for the customer. When Manager Michael was there, everything was different. I came in with a nail in one of my tires. I had been to another tire service company who said I needed to replace all 4 tires because it is an AWD. Which I understand - but the tire treads were not worn down. Santino Angeles took a look at the nail and the treads of the other tires and were able to plug the hole where the nail was. The Firestone at 1458 El Camino Real in Redwood City gave me horrible customer service today! I had a 10:00am appointment for an oil change, and arrived at 9:55am. My first observation was there was several cars up on the racks, but not a single employee in the garage! My first thought was that the crew was having a staff meeting, so I headed into the office. Well, there were employees in there, but they all seemed to be just hanging out. Only one employee looked up and asked if he could help me. I told him I had a 10am appointment, and he then asked for my keys. "Short and to the point". I inquired if he needed to know what service my car needed. "Nope, all the info is here in the computer". So, I asked what kind of oil will be put into my car. He said that he did not know. I said "full synthetic". His response was, "will that be all?" I was irritated by a lack of conversation and a lack of enthusiasm, so I said "Yep" and handed him the keys. He laid them down on the desk and I was somewhat surprised that none of the guys that were standing around, acknowledged me or indicated an urgency in grabbing the keys and getting started on my oil change. I turned to go sit down in the very sparse lobby, and just watched the half dozen guys continue with their break. I noticed that there was still no employees out in the garage working on the cars on the racks. Lots of time went by. No urgency! I continued to watch them and thought, "who the heck is the boss here"? Finally, one of them left the herd, and yawned, "guess I'll go to work now". He moved very slowly toward the garage, and went to another car (not mine). This team response was lackluster and boredom. My car was finally driven into the garage, and there seemed to be no urgency to work on my car or any cars out there. When my car was finally finished, I hurried to the front counter so that I could pay and go. I paid, and got no paperwork. I asked for the work order and was told that he emailed it to me. "We're paperless now" he said as he turned away. When I got to my car, I checked all the fluids, and none of them had been topped off, even though that was promised to me as a part of the oil change service. I didn't even bother to go back inside and ask them to do it because I knew that I'd get a "song and a dance" as to why it was NOT done. As I drove off the lot, vowing never to return here, I noticed one more thing that had been forgotten. The reminder sticker that has always been placed on the inside of my windshield (next oil change at xxxxxx miles) was missing. Probably purposely not put on the windshield. Why would they care if I brought my car back again for service? It was truly unprofessional and sloth-like service at this Firestone location. Never again! read more

Not sure what has happened to this location, but not worth the inconvenience and headache. Have been a loyal customer for 7 years and the quality of service, communication, and professionalism is poor. I had an appointment scheduled for 9:00am and did not get my car until 6:00pm. I requested an alignment, rotation, and also get my air filter changed. Around 12:45pm I get a call from the service manager (David) saying that I need my brakes changed and it will take 2 hours. I call at 4:00pm to check the status; "oh yeah it'll be ready in one hour". I get there at 4:45pm because the location closes at 5:00pm. I get there and the service manger blamed AutoZone since they did not deliver the part of timeI finally got my car back at 6:00pm and did not even get the air filter checked/changed. The fact that it took 9 hours to get this all done is such an inconvenience. You wait all day with no update until you show up at the location. Service manager also needs to be evaluated. While waiting for my car, he asked another customer if he had good credit because the customer was waiting for the service manager to talk to his insurance before getting charged. The service manager insisted on the customer paying the $1,200+ service and after the transaction the SM finally spoke to the insurance and told the customer "I do not know how to cancel this transaction". I get this is a business, but the fact they will over look everything else to charge you with the service that costs the most is so disheartening. read more

This is a scary story with happy ending. My 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport's battery died. Initially, I found a compatible battery for $169.99 at Costco. However, an auto shop quoted $199 for the installation, while another quoted $375 for battery and installation. Then, I jump-started the car and drove it to a "Firestone" location in Sunnyvale after they quoted $299.34 for battery and installation. But, after arriving, I didn't see a "Firestone" sign and they didn't even have a compatible battery. Fortunately, I didn't stop the engine, and was able to drive the car to this Firestone shop in Redwood City, after receiving a quote of $345 for battery and installation. They kindly offered a $20 off discount, and finished the job on time. I paid a total of $279.78 including taxes - which is a great value, as they avoided reseting the electronics. I saved over $89 and was impressed with the service quality, prompting my 1st Yelp review. read more

I got a nail in my tire and brought it here to get fixed, they told me they couldn't fix it and I needed a new tire. Okay sure. I went to pick it up, drove home which is less than a mile away. Then I drove it out at night for less than a mile my tire pressure light goes on. At this point they were closed. I went to get my pressure checked and it seems like another wheel. I wanted to bring it back to them to get it checked. Dropped it off around 9am, called me around 10am telling me that there's no leak. But why is the pressure reading low? But you would think that if there's no leak in that one shouldn't they look at all the other wheels before they call back?? Just me? So they said they'll check the other wheels. Because my light went on after seeing them. They told me if they can't find a leak they recommend something. Okay sure. 12:50pm I tried calling back and SUPER UNRESPONSIVE! I've called them over 10 times. They put me on hold for 30 mins... when I got through, the person couldn't tell me anything about my car and said they'll call me back in 10 mins....I'm still here waiting.. I had to call them back and was put on hold and forgotten about. They finally called me back and said nothing wrong w it and I asked them did they check the pressure in all the wheels and the AGAIN put on hold without no warning. Summary: BEWARE: The Firestone team quoted one number via phone and then charged almost $400 more without a change from the original over-the-phone quoted work. Detail: So I come in to get an oil change and tire rotation and asked the team if there are other recommended services given my vehicle history (I have been coming to this shop for quite some time)--they didn't provide any. Note that I fully had the intent to get the car fully serviced. I drop off my car and several hours later received a call with all the recommendation. I asked how much was the total and was quoted $1,000. I asked if there were discounts and was told they have $100 off. And I said, $900, please proceed and send me the work order via email. None arrived. I called the store and was immediately put on a 35 min hold...so I hung up and of course I am working and couldn't follow up on something they were supposed to do--provide the quote. I arrive to the store and was told that the bill was $1,261 without adding or changing the scope of work. I asked them why did it change from the $1000 minus $100=$900 quoted and was told "oh it must be a mis-communication" without further explanation. It was an almost $400 difference of Mis-communication error on their end. And it gives a very bad perception of impropriety. If I would have been told the $1,261 beforehand I would have still approved the work as my intent was to get the work completed--I'm pretty reasonable and I get it that people have to get paid as I too run a business. This leads to the appearance of a shady back-alley mechanic service praying on their customer--you wouldn't want to recommend them to your mother, sister, or neighbor. Now I feel like that I have to follow up with my mechanic friend to ensure all scope of work was actually completed--once trust is lost... Remedy: 1) Make good on your verbal quote. 2) AND Always send out a quote following up a phone call, which is easy to do, especially since I am in the database--it's only a click away and can prevent "mis-communications." I've been meaning to write this review for a while now and I finally got around to it. I would highly advise you to reconsider going to another Firestone location. This particular location in RWC has lost my trust. I scheduled an appt for a tire rotation and alignment. I was curious to see how they were rotating my tires because Subaru's have a specific way of rotating because of the AWD. So I snapped some photos of my tires before taking it to get serviced. I dropped off the car in the morning and by the end of the day they called me saying it was ready. I picked up the car and drove home. At home I compared the current location of the wheels to the photos and was surprised to see that they were in THE EXACT SAME SPOT! My wheels and rims each have distinguishing features (ex. Scratch marks, stamped numbers from other dealers, etc) so it was 100% obvious they didn't rotate my tires at all. I called them that very same day and asked why they didn't do it and the person who answered didn't know and rather than apologize and offer a solution, he said "well how would you know if we did it or not". After I mentioned the photos he had no more witty comebacks. He then offered to get it done the following morning which I appreciated. Next day I bring it in, I stay on site to make sure it gets done and it was rotated correctly this time. However, they still managed to not readjust the tire pressures (my car has higher pressure in front, lower pressure back wheels) which was just another annoying thing they overlooked. You expect these people to be professionals and they pull simple rookie stuff like this!? Unfortunately I paid for the unlimited tire rotation and wheel alignment when I purchased my tires here so it's sad that I now have to travel to another further away location to continue using a benefit I already paid for. Definitely won't be coming back. TLDR: please double check they actually complete the work you paid for! read more

Day before: scheduled appointment for 10:00am Day of appointment: show up at 10:00am and they say "there are 2 people ahead of you; it will be 1.5 hours" Call back at 12:15pm (2.25 hours): "we can't fix the tire, you have to buy a brand new one, but not as good, for $200 plus labor". I say OK fine. They say "we will call you when ready" 2pm: I go to pick up because I know putting on a tire takes 5-10 minutes and it has been 1.75 hours. In person response: "just starting, 20 more minutes". Gimme a break. I go to nearby park to wait for call, and do some work zoom meetings. 4:15pm: I go back and say what gives? They say "it was ready like 5 minutes after you left; we should have called you". What!?!?! I ask for discount because they messed up. They say no. What a terrible business.
