I ran into a dilemma this morning . As I was driving to work, my windshield wiper popped off. Unfortunately, it was the drivers side and yes it was pouring rain. I made my way off the highway and eventually into a parking lot. I tried repairing it myself but that was a complete failure. After about 20 minutes of trying, I went to the Firestone that I did not originally see in the parking lot. The person who greeted me was so kind. He came out to attempt to put the wiper back on. The wiper was completely broken. This man kindly installed me a new wiper without hesitation. He gave absolutely no indication that I was bothering him, interrupting his day, or was inconveniencing him in any way. When I tell you he is my hero today, I mean that wholeheartedly! Greg, thank you so much for your kindness. We need more people like you in this world. I wish you the same kindness that you give to others. read more

If i could give a zero I would. I got my Jeep back in worse shape than I took it to them in. We had to have the Jeep towed in because the brakes had gone out on it. It just needed a master cylinder replaced but one of the flared nuts was froze on and we could not get it off to replace it. we took it in on Monday, 2/09/26 and told them we just needed a master cylinder and that was it. Tuesday comes and we get a call that the Jeep needed front and rear brakes, rear axles seals, wheel cylinders and calipers. they replaced the seals and calipers and finally the master cylinder but suddenly it needed a proportioning valve now to fix the bakes. We said no we will do it ourselves. Was told they could bypass the valve. On Friday we are told it's ready. we paid over $1500 and it still has no brakes, says they can get the valve on Tuesday 2/17/26 again we told them no, they twisted off one of the brake lines and left it. we drove home with no brakes and out $1500 and still have to fix the brakes. The vehicle just passed a state inspection with no issues whatsoever and suddenly it needed all this work. All they needed to do was replace the master cylinder but instead bilked us out of over $ 1500 in repairs and still did not fix the vehicle. Horrible service is an understatement. They should not be in business, and they need to find mechanics who actually know how to work on cars. read more

I wish 0 stars was an option. I made an appointment for Thursday at 8:30 a.m. and dropped off my car as scheduled. I didn't hear a single update until 5pm, saying they had to order a part and it'd be in Friday morning and I could pick it up Friday afternoon. The next communication came at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, saying the car would be ready in a couple of hours. By 6:00 p.m., I still hadn't heard anything, so I went to the shop myself (they close at 7). Once there, I was told the technician had left the car unfinished and wouldn't be back until Monday. I had a wedding to attend out of town on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and they said they'd try to call someone in that morning. I got a call at 1:00 p.m. Saturday saying the car was finally ready but by then I had already left town with a friend. When I went to pick up the car on Sunday, I was told they hadn't actually fixed either of the two issues I brought it in for (a faulty tire pressure sensor and a broken driver's side A/C). Despite that, they tried to charge me $396. Completely unprofessional, poor communication, and unacceptable service. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Went there around 4pm as my tire got the nail around the middle on top. They could not patch it the same day and I left the car overnight. Called me next morning saying nothing could be done, that it did hit sidewall. I was told that I need 4 new tires as they are all have less than 50% thread on them and their policy are not allowing that just one tire being replaced. I got mad, took my car to the local mechanic and it was repaired. Paid $20 for it. Firestone tried to sell me 4 brand new tires and lied about it as well. Do not go there. Andre receives 5 *****! He was very helpful, friendly, and honest. After an accident, I had to have my vehicle towed because I blew out two tires. This was the closest place, so I ended up there. Andre (and team) were super helpful because they were able to save the "ball joint" and other possible problems so I didn't have to pay for them to be fixed or replaced. The other guy that checked me out was also great to find a way to apply an extra coupon so that I would save 5%. He didn't have to do that. I purchased the "Destination Le2" tirest, and they are terrific. Andre suggested these for my old Sequoia - VERY happy with my purchase. They are performing great. Will definitely use this Firestone location for my future car needs! read more

Firestone is great, reputable, trustworthy. But that doesn't apply to the Olive/Creve Coeur location. Two issues: First issue: A few months ago (pre-covid era) I scheduled an apt for Saturday morning. Arrived for appt and the store wasn't open. I was there within store hours, as posted out front, but no one was home. Called the Manchester store and they confirmed store should be open. They had me come down to the Manchester store. Second issue: I came in a couple months ago and got two new tires. I have after market rims that include a spacer to fit 100%. After getting new tires I felt vibration. Chalked it up to new tires. Went to dealer for different service today and they found the spacers are missing! Firestone forgot to put them back in. I went in to speak to a manger about it today, 8-12-2020, and he basically told me "tough luck." Do yourself a favor, don't go to this Firestone. Go to the Manchester one. Made an appointment for 8 am 2 week ago for an emissions inspection. Arrived at 7:45. Was told the inspector would get at it at 8am so I waited. Inspector didn't even show up till to the shop until 9am. What is the point of making an appointment if they are not kept. I was the only one waiting and they couldn't even update me on the status periodically. Also witnessed while waiting is Amy at the front desk let's customers stand at the desk for 20-30 minutes before she comes in from the garage to take care of them. Worst customer service of any Firestone I have ever been to. Emissions inspection should take 30 min or less. They have had it for and hour an a half. Get your act together firestone. read more

I hate this place. Use to love it. I work in the same plaza and it was always a plus to drop it off in the morning at 7 am for oil changes and pick it up when I joy off. Well not this last time. My fiancé dropped it off at 8 am and didn't get the car back until 5 and got home at 6. Customer service was horrible and I have a repetitive oil light on my car now even though I just got the oil changed less than a month ago. They also were very happy to send him home with a1800 dollar estimate for things wrong with my car that are not.. I don't know if they switched management but we miss BRAD! He was so pleasant and polite and made sure things ran right. I will never in life take my car back there nor will I recommend it to anyone we know. Snakey. I called and set up an appointment with Amy for 2 oil changes. She told me the latest I could bring my car in was 2pm to get it serviced at 3pm. I drove out there and arrived at 1:55 and was told that they were booked up and had no slots the rest of the day and the next. I told the person behind the counter what Amy had told me and and he said he would speak to her. He comes back and tells me that she told him she did not tell me that, she didn't even have the courtesy to come out and talk to me herself and try to resolve the situation. Really needed to get an oil change so looked up a firestone close to my office. Found this location and looked like they had openings that afternoon. Got everything booked online and got my confirmation in my email. Got out of work early and drove over to the store. When I got there waited 5 minutes before someone came to help. Gave him my name and said I had an appointment. He does a little typing and says sorry no appointment but if you just leave it with me I will get to it when I can. I said well I made an appointment so I wouldn't have to drop it off and now you want me to leave it. I just walked out. I have been a Firestone customer since 1985. I have 4 vehicles...all with lifetime alignment and Firestone tires. I bought $1k worth of Firestone tires for my Ford 3/4 ton. While overnighting at a nearby medical facility for my mother, I requested my routine 5k mile oil change, lifetime alignment and the free tire rotation blah, blah, blah from this center. I get a call saying it's ready (and I'm pleasantly surprised its that quick). I walk over. All they've done is the oil change. No free alignment, no tire rotation. WTH? "Your tires have impact damage and we can't work on them. So..how come the other 3 Firestone's I frequent never mentioned this, and further still, they rotate them routinely? "I cant comment on another shop or mechanic, but you have great wear left on your tires and we can get you a new set pro-rated". So...now I don't know who to believe but I do feel like each Firestone can play fast and loose until it gets caught (and then the textbook apology). I'm 67 years old but I'm not stupid. Giving a one star review because I can't give zero stars. Took in my car an hour before close on a Saturday, they didn't have time that night to work on it but said they would get to it first thing Sunday morning. I received a call at 3 PM Sunday (they opened at 8 AM) that they could not start my car and the car would not even jump start. They wanted an additional $30 for diagnosis on the starter (I was already paying $75 to diagnose two other issues that they hadn't even started working on yet). He also said that there was so much corrosion on the terminals there was barely any contact. I told them I would pick up the car and take it somewhere else. 5 minutes later I was dropped off, picked up my keys, and magic! It started first try. Save yourself money, time, and headache and take your vehicle somewhere else. I have used firestone for years with no problems, but this branch on Olive has no ethics. Do not trust Marc at the front desk, I overheard him lie to other customers over the phone while joking with an employee about it afterward. Don't walk away, run away from this store. Update: I took my car to Roy's auto on 141 and Manchester. They were packed with cars but got me in earlier than expected, fixed the actual cause of the issue, and price was competitive. Roy's had my car for the same amount of time as this Firestone. Firestone was able to call me and lie about not being able to start my car, and never even look at my car. Roy's replaced a thermostat, high and low horns, and fixed a previous mistake from Firestone with my brakes. read more

Called for a state inspection. After being on hold for 20 mins, I explained I purchased a car in a different state & even though it was inspected in that state, I needed inspection from my state. They could not get me in for eight days. I made the Appt, & they did get me in & out quickly, but they didn't give me everything I needed. Apparently, I also needed an IDOD, but they only gave me the safety & emission inspections. When I went back, they told me they were too busy to accommodate me, I would need to make another appointment. I left & called the Firestone in Manchester, as they had been more helpful before. I love this place and I hate this place. Have gone to this Firestone several times for both of our vehicles due to the close proximity to my job. The good: pricing for things like tires and brakes. Also, I bought the Lifetime Alignment package for my truck 5 years ago and enjoy the fact that I can bring it in any time to have it adjusted or balanced or whatever for no charge. The bad: First of all, customer service is hit or miss. Some have been kind, attentive and helpful, while others have seemed impatient or even annoyed. I totally get it that I'm a chick who knows little about cars, but bear with me, I want out of this conversation as much as you do. Secondly, the wait time is always ridiculously long. I mentioned that this location is near my work, so it is convenient to drop it off around 9:30 in the morning and I really don't care if it takes them until 5:30 to get the job done. But they consistently have not had my vehicle ready until 7:00 or later. This is even if I've called the night before and even if they are only performing something simple, like an inspection. No, I'm not exaggerating. I have been finding myself going out of the way to take my vehicles elsewhere for oil changes and whatnot. read more

I had gone in with my son (College age) for a quote on a flat repair, the actual price came in over five times higher as I left them to work with my son. I called in and expressed that I was concerned that they would charge so much more when dealing with a kid. If, and I mean "if", it needed a new tire, they should not have put a nice tire on an old car. They didn't even let my son know any options existed. At the end of my call They offered a solution to me to have a much cheaper tire put on if he brought the car back in. So I had my son call back to Schedule an appointment with them. Greg Greg Greg... Mr Attitude. Answers the phone frustrated seems like he's never having a good day and takes it out in the clients. I Damaged my car from sliding on ice into a median. Luis told me to bring it in and they could fix it the same day. However after receiving the estimate I decided to go through my insurance company. After filing my claim I called back and Greg answered the phone and basically went off on me because I decided to go through my insurance instead of paying out of pocket.. Wth? That's what insurance is for I thought. He said he was waiting to hear from them and that could take weeks. So I called my insurance company and she called and spoke with them that same day.. I then called Firestone back (same day) to ensure they in fact spoke with her and with disgust in his voice I heard him smack his lips together when I told him who I was. I asked if he'd heard from my insurance company and he replied Yes I did in the most condescending way ever. Smh I should've been the one frustrated without having a car, All I was asking for was an update but Greg acted like I was wasting his time. I don't get it if you're in the people business you should have a bit more patience. (I thought maybe it was just an isolated incident with him. So fast forward a week later I called back to get an update and AGAIN! Mr Attitude is in full effect. Acting like he doesn't want to be at work. Hell sometimes I don't want to be at work but I don't take it out on my patients. So I asked for Luis.. He stated all they were waiting on was the tire and my car would be complete. But no I misinterpreted what complete means. Because once I received the call that the wheel was there I assumed then the car was complete but oh no they were just getting started fixing it. And low and behold they found more damage on the car. Which isn't the problem I still have yet to receive my car and they still have yet to send the supplement estimate to my adjuster even after a email and phone call to the manager. So still no car and still no answers. I will never ever refer nor return for service at Firestone. Not if this is a representation of their business. read more

Was in St. Louis this weekend with my wife and teenage daughters for a soccer tournament. Had a flat Sunday afternoon around 3:30 and stopped in the Maryland Heights Firestone location to ask for a flat repair. Upon speaking to the manager I was told that they were closing at 5:00 and they "didn't have time to help us" because they would have to stay past closing time. So I ended up changing the tire myself in their parking lot in the rain while my wife and daughters stood outside the car. They could have done this in 15 minutes yet weren't willing to stick around past closing time. Last visit I will ever make to any Firestone anywhere. For such a big company that has many layers of training, might want to think about focusing on customer service. read more

i need to update my review...... the short story is..... after being told to have my shocks and struts replaced...I found myself visiting this locations about 1x a week for a month and then every month i was back. The noise coming from the front end was annoying and sounded like something was going to fall off. After having the strut replaced twice and multiple "not sure what the noise is" I gave up. Here I am several months later, I had my cousin who is a mechanic look at my car. In 15 minutes he identified the ball joint was bad and the strut was leaking. I have grown a very huge hate relationship with this store. And I'm disappointed in their lack of effort in identifying my vehicles issue. To top it off, I can't even get an alignment without having to return b/c it's off......who can you trust these days!? read more

My elderly relative takes her car there to get the oil changed. She makes an appointment days in advance and yet they they make her wait for hours while they go get an oil filter even though they should have planned ahead and made sure they had it on hand. Keith Vestal, the manager, on more than one occasion yelled at her when she dared ask after hours of waiting there how much longer she would have to wait. How incredibly rude of him to treat a sweet old lady like that! Once, one of the workers stained the seat and steering wheel with oil. When she politely asked him to clean it up, he rudely told her to take a hike. Ever since then, she stopped going there and found a much better shop. read more

Good, honest shop. One of the few open on Sundays. First come first serve. My brakes were shot. They didn't have time to replace the master cylinder but they did look at it for free and diagnose it. I got it repaired elsewhere the next day but their assessment was honest. The qoute was 300 and my super cheap shop fixed it for 250, so they are good with qoutes too. Will use them next time I need an emergency repair on Sunday. read more

Be warned of scams and shady practices here. I took my car in for the $99 brake special at the end of July '14 to have my front brakes taken care of. I was told I had a seized caliper and that they should be replaced in pairs - an additional $485 and that my pads were worn unevenly 2 & 8mm (they hadn't gotten to the rotors or anything else yet). I told them I wanted to check to see if they were under warranty and it turns out they were, so I had them stop what they were doing and put it all back together. The service advisor was not happy about that. The next day, when the dealership was done with my car, they told me that there was nothing wrong with the calipers - nothing needed to be replaced in the first place and that calipers don't need to be replaced in pairs - unless you subscribe to the 'one went out, the other probably will too' theory - and that the wear measurements they gave on the pads were completely inaccurate. My takeaway from this place - they will gouge you for hundreds of dollars at the drop of a hat if you don't know anything about cars or don't think to question your warranty or get a second opinion. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. read more

I would like to apologize to the young man who I cursed at today. He was the lead customer service tech at the desk for Firestone at 12740 Olive Blvd, Saint Louis, MO 63141. My first impression was him with an older lady (much like what you would see in a Rockwell painting) and he was pitching fear to up-sell the lady on a product sold at Firestone. My incident in question started when the young man informed me that the "manager" of Firestone at 12740 Olive Blvd, Saint Louis, MO 63141 would prevent him to remove and remount a tire to my spare; because it was a used tire. This didn't sit well with me; because I had (within a few weeks ago) brought in 4 tires, that were purchased online, and this store mounted/balanced them perfectly. So, why did this young man find it in his heart to council me on my purchase of a used tire? I think you can see he was starting his pitch for an up sale. This is where I when off the rails...I told the young man to "F" off and then left. In hind sight, it wasn't the young man's fault. For that I say I'm sorry to the young man behind the counter. On the other hand, It was the management of this store's fault...for heaping up sale fear to the kids (yes I said kids) working at this store. End result...I took my business elsewhere. My dollars spend just as fast at another tire chain store as it will at Firestone located at 12740 Olive Blvd, Saint Louis, MO 63141. I'm sharing this on other blogs...it just pissed me off to see someone taking advantage of that lady. read more

I don't write reviews at all so for me to write on about my experience really says something. So I took my car in to the firestone yesterday morning. My left rear tire was low and I heard air leaking from it. I asked them to see if they can check it out and patch it up for me if they can. They said they will get to it in 3-4 hours bc they were busy. That was fine with me, I even said if they can't to it today they can look at it tomorrow if that's better. I get a call from them at 6:09pm that day saying my car is ready to be picked up. Knowing that they close at 6 I told them I will pick up my car the next day. I came in this morning to pick up my car. They told me I was good to go. So I paid and drove my car home. Once I got home I realized that same tire was low again. I inspected my tire and saw that nothing was done. I looked at the second page of my receipt and saw that they checked marked that my tire (which I took in) was unrepairable. I called up to the firestone and told him my findings. The person on the phone respond "oh yeah sorry for the miscommunication" And then hangs up. I then put on a donut and drove to Dobbs to have them look at my tire. According to them, it is an easy fix and I should have my car back today. read more

Took a 03 Jetta there for an inspection and they said the rear brakes were in "dire need" of replacement. Thought their quote was a bit high so I shopped around. Found a place (won't name names but they are right down the street) who was a little more reasonable on the pricing. Took the car there about a month after the inspection (very busy schedule) only to have them tell me the brakes still had more than 1/2 life left on them. Long story short: They tried to rip me off over 300 dollars. I'd avoid this establishment. read more

I have used this Firestone for a couple years now. The staff was always very honest and did good jobs when Keith was working there. However, Keith is not there anymore and now this location has turned into a huge scam. 1) I asked them to do an alignment check and they tried charging me for it even though they had also marked down that I needed an upper ball joint replaced. Unfortunately for them, I am extremely knowledgeable about car repairs and I called them out on their fake "alignment check" (you can't check alignment with a bad ball joint). 2) They claimed to not be able to find the lug nut remover (even though I had just used it to change the flat) on my mom's car. They charged a ridiculous price to strip off the old lug nuts and put new nuts on. They obviously stole the lug nut remover. 3) They tried telling me I had a power steering fluid leak and wanted to charge well over $100 to fix it. I declined their offer and just topped off the power steering fluid level. And the fluid level hasn't dropped at all over the past 2 months. Basically, either go to a different Firestone location or try a different company unless you want to be charged for fraudulent repairs! read more

BEWARE OF THE CON-MEN AND CON-WOMEN AT THE 12740 OLIVE BLVD FIRESTONE. I have been taking my 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 to Firestone for many years and have never had any problems. However that location closed down so I took it to the Olive location for a routine state safety and emissions inspection. I knew of at least 2 things my truck would fail for, a cracked drivers' side mirror and 3 tires. I was failed for those two things and a cracked sway bar, o.k. no big deal. I should have known I was in for a ride when Eric, one of the managers tried to convince me I was very lucky to pass the emissions test. It is common knowledge in Missouri that every vehicle passes the emissions test, it is simply a source of revenue for the state. They fixed my mirror and put on 4 new tires while I waited there. Since one of my tires was almost brand new I asked them if they could switch it out with the worn out spare, Eric said absolutely. At the end of that first day Eric came back and said they couldn't get the spare to come down, I said that was strange because I had gotten it down myself just this year. In addition to the work they did that first day, I would also have to pay for the sway bar in advance because once it's ordered it can't be sent back. When I got home and tried to lower the spare I realized they had stripped the crank that lowers the spare. I guess I'll just have to pray I never get a flat tire. They couldn't find a sway bar and would have to order one or find a junk yard bar that would not be warrantied. Three days later a new bar that they ordered arrived and I went to have it put on. While waiting there they called me into the garage and showed me the bar they took off my truck sitting next to the bar they ordered, they were clearly different bars. They blamed it on the manufacturer sending them the wrong part and since they broke the old bar while taking it off I had to drive home with no sway bar and wait until the next one arrived. Three days later when the next bar arrived it was also the wrong bar. Eric told me he would take a picture of the old one and compare it to whatever he ordered next. They claimed the correct bar only exists in California and would have to be shipped here, so 5 more days passed. At this point I have been driving around with no sway bar for over a week and my plates are now expired. At one point Eric said they lost the tracking number and didn't know if the bar was coming. After having to initiate over 25 phone calls Eric finally called me back saying they have the bar and it matches the old one but the mechanic that removed the first one should be the person to put the new one back on to ensure it's done right and he wouldn't be at work for 2 more days, but if I want I could come in and have the mechanics that are on duty try to do it. I went in and after an hour and a half Eric's exact words were "my technician is scared to put it on". Eric said if the tech damaged the bar another one would have to be ordered from California. I asked if I should make an appointment for Friday when the tech would be back at work, Eric said no, just come on in and I'll see it gets done right away. Of course when I showed up Friday morning Eric was not there. Another manager, Jerry, claimed he didn't know anything about the situation even though he had been involved and/or present while much of this nonsense was going on, same thing with Kit she was involved too, insisted they were too busy and I would have to make an appointment for tomorrow. He reminded me that a non- warrantied junk yard bar was going on the truck. I said it was supposed to be a new bar with a warranty. Since I already knew that Josh, the mechanic that had been doing the work on my truck, doesn't come into work until 9:30, I asked why I should come in an hour early. Jerry actually tried to convince me it would take an hour just to get the truck up on the lift! After making a new appointment and going home I decided I wasn't going to risk getting a ticket any longer. I went back at about 10am and told them I'm not leaving until they put the sway bar on my truck. Kit said It would take until closing time at 7pm, I said what choice do I have my plates are expired and the truck is unsafe to drive. She said it would take more than three hours just to get it on the lift, I said fine. Fifteen minutes later my truck was on the lift, an hour and a half later passed inspection and an hour after that had my new tags.
