This shop is so unprofessional, I brought my car in to get a flat tire fix, but they told me that my tire cannot be fixed and told me to get all four new tires. I have doubt of what firestone told me, so I took my car to discount tires. Discount tires fixed the flat tire for me free of charge. Also notified me that my four tires are still in good shapes. I wish yelp would allow zero stars! The one star is not deserved for this place! My mom took her car there for an oil change and alignment/rotation and they just ruined the whole car! I mean COME ON! It's not a rocket science to do these things on a toyota!! So this is what happened: The next day after the oil change she felt the car was not driving right and then the day after ALL the hazard lights came on and she took it back the day after that and asked them to check the car. They hesitated and said they didn't have time and she had to argue with them so they would check the car as the car was not safe to drive on the freeway... So as soon as they open the hood, she witnessed the loose pump hanging in the air and the manager went back and talked to the technician about that and then they fixed that and returned the car to her and then she looked under the car and she saw that all the engine parts are so close to the ground they were about to fall down. So she told them about it and it turned out that they FORGOT to put the system back together! What the *&$#? Do they realize that someone's life can be jeopardize by their irresponsibilities???? This is just a shame! I am not even sure if the car is now safe to drive or not! Shame on you Firestone people! read more

While driving down the 15N my car warned me of leaking coolant and soon after started to overheat. I went to the nearest spot I could find which was this Firestone "Complete Care" center. Jordan told me it would take 2-3 hours to diagnose the problem when I dropped it off at 10am so my wife and I went to eat and waste some time but by 2pm I had heard nothing. I decided to sit in the store to see if my presence would keep me in sight and in mind so they could hurry up but all I learned is that I should come back the next day. So I had to find a ride back to Balboa park area. When I left they told me the part I needed would be in first thing. which to them was 10-11am and they would call me when it was there. The next day I called at 11am to see if the part was there but no luck and the story changed to maybe 1pm because they had to get it from the BMW dealer in LA. I waited for a call but nothing and around 3pm I called and they told me it was delivered to the wrong store. The part finally got there too late to work on the car so I had to wait yet another day. The next morning once again I had to call them instead of them updating me. I was informed that it was misdiagnosed and the part would do no good because I needed a new radiator. The topping on the cake was that this "Complete Care" center told me they would not fix the radiator because it was too hard to do on my car. Apparently all of the technicians on staff that day were too young and inexperienced to do it on a BMW. Their words. Complete care my ass. I ended up driving away with a bottle of coolant they gave me. topping off as my radiator leaked all the way to a real mechanic. The only positive thing is that the manager, Reza, did not charge me anything and seemed to care and be embarrassed. The problem is that I doubt anything will actually be done about the horrible communication of the workers that could use some additions to their understaffed store. read more

Went in for a tire repair (bolt in tire), was immediately told that I needed a new tire. Seriously!?! Worker just glanced at tire and never inspected anything. Tires have 10,000 miles on them and object is not in sidewall. After 1/2 hour, I was quoted $299 for a new tire ($180 for store brand tire). Was then told by worker that maybe Mazda will do warranty work since car is new. Now at Discount Tire in Poway getting the tire fixed for FREE! I will never go back to any Firestone shops. I understand tires can become unsafe at times, but do not try and force people to buy new tires when the do not need them. What a joke!!! read more

So quick follow up on my prior review I came into Firestone for an overdue oil change and for them to check a brake service light that was lit. Not to be confused with the brake light indicator. I came strolling in and the service advisor recalled who I was even though it's been a while. It's nice to be recognized. So she tells me in a laughing way..."So you wrote the particular review about blah blah blah".... My spider sense was tingling at that moment. Nonetheless I still booked an appointment for later in the week to do the repairs. Make a long story short, I came in hoping that the brake system indicator was nothing to worry about, but it turns out the master cylinder was leaking fluid due to a bad seal....bad news. Also I had to replace my two front tires and get a subsequent alignment done...more bad news. All in all, I did have to pay more than I was hoping that day. I want to make it perfect clear this is not in all in any means a negative review about Firestone. My car is a dinosaur...it's ancient...it's on it's last legs. So one can expect that amount of money for maintenance to be shelled out. I will say that the Firestone crew have been very straight forward with me, professional, and even tried to help me out finding applicable discounts where it's available. Overall, I will more than likely continue to patron Firestone until the day my Honda goes up to the big garage in the sky. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. Brought in my car for a checkup after hearing a slight knocking noise. They called me and told me my battery was dead... Okay, I let them replace it. A couple hours later they called me and told me that my car wouldn't start for 4 of their "15 year professionals" and that they wanted a couple hundred dollars to replace the starter. I had STARTED and DRIVEN the car personally from my home to the auto care center. I turned the car on in front of the man I left the car with when I dropped it off. After they worked under the hood (Replacing my battery and who knows what else) They insisted that the starter was broken and somehow it was my fault despite the damage occurring in their care after they had worked on it. They held the car for almost a week. I had to head down there personally, and when I did I got into my car and started it immediately. There was nothing wrong with the starter at all. Four "experts" had failed to start the car because in their collective 60 years of experience with cars, they've never experienced an ignition that required the slightest amount of pressure to connect. As I was leaving, they refused to jump my car (after removing the battery they had put in) and I had to bum a jump off of somebody else. I took my car a few hundred feet away to Pettey's. He was able to start the car immediately, and even told me just from the feel of turning the key why I needed to apply a slight pressure. He diagnosed the entire car for much cheaper than Firestone originally wanted to diagnose only select sections of the vehicle. read more

I may have written a review before, but they deserve special mention for this. I'm a fulltime comic ventriloquist who lives in San Diego but perform all over. I was slated for an event in Thoursand Oaks tomorrow and over the past few days noticed that a firestone tire under warrent kept getting low. My car's low tire warning light was on. But I noticed it was REALLY bad Saturday. I asked them if they could fit me on on Sunday and they said they were very tightly booked but would try. I told them I would get there very early. I was first in line but they were booked solid. Rather than this take hours, it took at most an hour. The tire had a nail in it. It was under warranty so I got the appropriate pro-rated discount which was GREAT. I was also impressed that they didn't (like some places) go into a list of what my car with 160,000 needed to be done. This is the third time I've gone to them (a lot of my repairs are done on the road) and I really do have to praise them. FOOTNOTE: they have GREAT wifi so I could do my political blog while I was waiting and also there's a very good bagel/bakery next door. THANK YOU for your help (on a Sunday yet!!). I was tempted to try and make it up there with the tire, filling it with air, but they noted to me that I would never have made it!! read more

I had my belongings stolen at this location. They tried to say it was found in the back of the parking lot after I called to complain about theft. They have lost my trust. I don't think twice about hiding or removing my personal items from my keychain nor my car whenever I bring my car here for service until now. They've lost my trust. I would give this place a negative rating if I could. This place a is rip-off. I waited an hour while they performed a free brake inspection. During that time I listened to what the salesman told the customers about their cars. It was like listening to a recorded message. Everyone had something expensive that was 'recommended' else the car may not run at its best. And BTW, most of these customers were 55+. I was disgusted by what I witnessed so I told the guy I wanted to get my car back and leave. He said it was almost ready, then came back a few min's later with a quote of $802.77. What was that expensive? This is what the quote showed: Standard brake service $99.99 Brake Rotors (front-both) $195.98 Clean and adjust rear brakes $29.99 Resurface brake drum (rear-both) $70.00 Wheel cylinder $283.98 Brake fluid exchange $94.99 tax $27.84 Total $802.77 Seriously? $800 to replace the brakes? You can decide for yourself. Do you think $800 for a brake job is too much? I will never come here again. And you shouldn't either. read more

While Reza was very friendly and well versed, that's about all I have to say positively about this place. Dropped my car off at 9 am with an appointment and stood in line for 30 minutes because there was only one person to check in my car. I called at 4 pm that day and they still have not started replacing my 4 tires. It's been sitting there since 9 am! What's the point in having an appointment?! They won't have it ready until 6 pm when I was told noon on the phone while making the appointment. Will never go here again and wouldn't recommend. read more

Somehow my basic oil change turned into me needing a new oil pan because these geniuses said my oil pan bolt was stripped and would no longer tighten down causing the pan to leak. I knew something wasn't right so I took my car to another shop just down the block and they said all I needed was a new rubber seal. Stay as far away from this place as possible. They will also try to sell you everything under the sun. They give you a low quote only to have it turn out to be way more. I used to work in this industry and we were told by management to sell, sell, sell, even if the car didn't need the part. I lasted one day because I didn't feel right ripping people off on repairs they didn't need. So go ahead and take your car here, but don't forget I tried to warn you. If you need tires, try Discount Tires. If you need mechanical work there are several other shops just blocks away. Now just watch, the owner will write me back telling me how sorry he is that I had such a bad experience, but that's about it. Personally, I'm not interested in his excuses. read more

The staff here is remarkable! They were transparent and friendly. I had gone in on New Year morning, and the shop was slammed. My wait was going to be 2 hours as a walk in, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to stay. I'm so glad I did Martin was the person to greet me. He was friendly and patient. He went above and beyond what I expected from an auto shop. Martin first let me know that I had the option of staying or having a friend come get me. Thanks to Uber, I could get a ride home. Next, he helped me get the services I needed to meet my budget, helping me to know what deals Firestone had for the services I requested. While I was out of the shop, He went out of his way to communicate what was going on with my car, and let me know when it was done! When I picked up my car, Reza surpassed my expectations of great customer care. He was so friendly and a great conversationalist. He gave me pro tips of how to keep mechanics honest! Also, he double checked to make sure I received all of my services that I requested! They forgot to do my tire rotation, and I got to wait another 20 minutes, and it was the most pleasant experience. In San Diego, shops get so busy, and as someone who walks in, I expected the wait. Pro tips: If you need Services in a timely basis, I recommend that you make an appointment. Reza recommends that for any service you get, be sure to ask for your parts back so that you can inspect them. This keeps mechanics honest! Always ask for a price reduction or specials! read more

This is one of our favorite stores besides on in Las Vegas. We had our family all get their mechanical work done there and everyone has been pretty satisfied. No one likes to have their car worked on but at least they will try to soften the blow. They are like any business where they find something they can work on to up-sell. If this doesn't bug you, you'll have no problems here. My wife had a problem with a customer service issue. Unfortunately it was a busy time and the customer service rep took for granted the loyalty we show to this business. Fortunately they realized it and made everything right again. I always leave feeling like they took care of me. I also feel like they're keeping my safety in mind when working on my cars. I think this would be five stars if they hadn't taken us for granted. Unfortunately, whoever the employee working the front desk was today when I went in for an appointment was childish and embarrassingly unprofessional. He acted as if I'd committed a faux pas for not wanting to buy the tires they'd quoted me on the phone after I'd found something a bit more affordable. Then he made a show of balling up the paperwork in front of me and informing me that they'd already been ordered and I should have let them know earlier. I didn't engage too much after he became belligerent, but I wish I'd walked away immediately without speaking to him at all. People who take on this kind of infancy when they feel inconvenienced are not worth trying to reason with. I know things are very difficult right now for everyone-- but this kind of foolishness is not going to help businesses get back on their feet during this crisis. read more

I had the pleasure to be greeted by Reza and he took really good care of me. He offered exactly what I needed to get my truck's tires sorted out (I had a nail puncture the corner of the tire, needed to replace that tire, then the spare which I had put on was 15 years old, so needed to be replaced). They didn't have the tires in-stock (no big deal) but were able to have them within a few hours. I dropped off the truck the following day (my choice) and everything was completed in the promised time, at the quoted price (which seemed very fair, $73/tire + installation, the tires for my BMW are $500 each...). Zero Star!!!!!! I always do my cars service (tires. change oil. Air filter. Etc) at RB firestone for my both car CRV n Civic since i bought the cars in 2012 because it located next to my home. I used firestone tires for my Civic and my CRV is from Costco. I bought protection plan for my tires at firestone. Now my civic gonna hit 100k miles and i always had to change new tires when it went half gone bcoz of the nails all the time and they said tires cannot be fixed it. I asked them to check history. They see that. I cannot use their tires until it gone. My CRV tires never happen like that even it is over 100k miles. Now i totally realize that their tire quality is really bad. I won't use their tire again. The customer service is really bad too. If u don't believe me u can compare the tires and customer service with Costco. If u never compare u never know. I don't mind i go 5 miles to go costco for better service and better quality with cheap price. read more

This is my go-to tire-replacement and alignment facility! When I make an appointment (which everyone should do) the service is always prompt, and the customer service reps are very friendly. The technicians really seem to know what they are doing, and took extra caution when mounting the tires on my 911 Porsche. They do not seem to be over-bearing with their recommendations like some repair facilities. The location is near about a dozen restaurants within walking distance, which is an added bonus. I had a slow leak in one of my rear tires and discovered a nail in it. Called up this place and made an appointment since it's close to where I live. Showed up in the morning for my appointment and they patched up my tire in less than an hour. Great customer service from the guy up front Reza and prompt response from the one mechanic in the shop. Been coming in for my lifetime alignments regularly and they do a great job! Recently bought some tires here and two weeks later got a huge screw in the tire. Show up at 4:15pm and TIM drives to Mira mesa store to get a replacement tire and finishes the job at 5:30--with traffic!! After taking my car to another shop for 3 days, spending so many hours they could not properly fix a leak in the cooling system. I went to this RB location after reading reviews. Jude, Service Mgr and Tynia, Store Mgr are top-notch. I just happened to drive in on a Sunday. I was greeted very professionally by Jude. This shop had me up and running with no leaks in a matter of a few hours. They understood my need for safety traveling in my vehicle as an essential front line worker in the emergency department during a Pandemic. I highly recommend this shop for any auto needs. read more
