have had several complaints made to corporate over the past few years. Nothing is ever done. So this is probably a waste of time. All you need to do is look at the customer reviews for the Sandusky Ohio location. I was desperate for a place with weekend hours. That's how these corporate places always have customers coming back. Since last Friday 2/14, I now know my local Ford has service hours on Saturdays. So I will NOT be returning First off, Firestone claims that I need control arms on rear if my Edge. This is hard to believe since the shaking I am feeling is in my steering wheel and brake pedal. Secondly, why does your techs NEVER take my vehicle for a drive before looking at car and pulling straws? Why did the interior of my edge have greasy finger prints on the visor, above drivers door, and below my panorama sunroof?????! When I noticed it as soon as I got home and went to open garage door for house, I backed right up and took it back. Tony was VERY RUDE!!!! He made it seem like it was already like that when I took it there. Excuse me????? I demanded that it be cleaned and look like it did when I dropped it off! About 20-25 minutes later it was clean. Too bad corporate doesn't allow me to post these pictures in my review! I love how the company takes down bad reviews on Google. Miraculously, they have 4.3 stars on there. It took two days to get my tire replaced. I was offered a tire for $200.00 the same day. But had to wait til Monday for a cheaper priced tire. When, l picked up my it was parked right next to the street and unlocked. Then l noticed scratches on the rear quarter panel of my car where my tire replaced. It wasn't there before the service, because l just had my car washed. I called and manager Josh & he never returned my call. read more

Well took it there because my aftermarket warranty has a deal with them.They were to fix my blowermoter and they wanted to charge 330.99 for the part alone.The warranty company said they would pay market rate for the part which is 158$.I called and asked why so much and the manager Andy said they have to make money.I called District Manager Mitchel and he said they do this to every part.I say never take your car here because they will try to rip you off. read more

Got quite a bit of maintenance service done here when I moved to Sandusky earlier this year including a timing belt and water pump change. I was a little miffed the first time because I had pre-paid for all the service and make made an appointment for the weekend but when I showed up, the one timing-belt guy they had was too busy to do it. Turns out pre-paid tickets don't show up on the schedule so they guy didn't know... Anyways, I showed up the following weekend and everything went smoothly. Overall these guys seem trustyworthy and have had no problem with their worksmanship so far. I also compared prices with Sears nearby and everything was pretty comparable. They also gave me a little discount because I was getting so much work done. I would come back here without any qualms. read more

There are 2 Firestone retail locations in my city. Both locations seem to be hurting. I've made appointments with both locations for a simple tire rotation. The first store called me an hour before the appointment and said they could not guarantee that I would be able to get my tires rotated that day and suggested that I call the 2nd store, who made me wait 2 weeks to get on the schedule. I dropped my car off on the day of the appointment at 9:00 AM for a 10:00 appointment. After no call indicating the car could be picked up, I showed up at 5:00 PM and it was done. I have no idea when they finished with it and received no apology that I was not notified. I'm no longer a Firestone supporter and am looking for a new tire retailer. read more

If you're ever in Sandusky, Ohio and need auto repair, THIS IS THE PLACE! we were driving on I-80 from Delaware to Indiana and heard a loud harmonic rattle from our car. Long story short - we did a quick search for a nearby auto repair shop and this was the place. 7 miles from the interstate. They were MAGNIFICENT! Steve Worful listened to our story, made time for us in the schedule, and sent us on our way an hour later, having figured out the problem and fixed it. I went there to get a flat tire fixed, and really wouldn't recommend them. First, they didn't use nitrogen when they fixed the tire (all the tires were previously filled w/ nitrogen), and didn't tell me (I had to ask). They told me they never use nitrogen even if they are repairing a tire that already has it in. So, given that three tires have nitrogen and one has air only, I expect that the tire pressure will be different at highway speeds. Second, they over-inflated the tire to 48.5 psi (the recommended pressure as listed inside the door is 35, and the maximum safe pressure is 44. I checked the pressure with my digital gauge after their work was finished and was shocked that it was 48.5. Lastly, they didn't even have the courtesy to put the spare back where it belongs, and just threw it in the back of the van. I passed two other tire stores on the way to Firestone to make sure I had tire professionals working on my Firestone tires, but was very disappointed in the result. read more

I would like to give a shout out to manager of the Milan Rd Firestone Richard Oliver . I was on my way to work when my truck stopped I thought it was the battery. Richard was on his way home from work stopped to see if he could help He said he thought it was the fuel pump , He said he could call a tow truck for me and tow to firestone I could get a quote the next day and decide what to do ( no pressure, no real sales pitch ) that is what we did . Richard Oliver even gave me a ride to work so I wouldn't have to lose a days pay ! He said it on my way ( which was a little out of the way). Went in for a battery check, windshield wiper fluid fixed, and an oil change that could all happen that same day. Called them 3 hours later saying they were working on it, so I went in an hour after that. Different guy told me that I said we originally said it can be done tomorrow, which wasn't true. Told me they didn't have a battery for my car. Couldn't tell if my windshield wiper fluid was broken. Forgot to put my glove compartment back on. After 3 days of going in after receiving a phone call saying my battery was in only to have it not be there, this will be my last time using Firestone after being a customer for 6 years. read more

About an hour out of Cleveland, heading west on the Ohio Turnpike, we suffered a flat tire due to a large rip in the sidewall caused by something that hit it. After a short (about one-half hour) wait for the AAA to arrive and install the spare, we headed for the nearest exit and Sandusky. We were glad to spot this business because the existing tires were Bridgestones and we knew that we would need two new ones. The flat was clearly not repairable and the other tire had 42,000 miles on it, so replacing just one tire was not an option. Despite a busy day, the service manager (Kurt, I believe) assured us that he could fit us in and have us our way in about an hour and a half. That is pretty much what happened. The technician (Derrick) did a great job of balancing the tires (I hate vibration at highway speeds). He even cleaned the rims and applied tire dressing (without being asked) to the new tires so they matched the others that had been detailed just before the trip. The price we were charged was very competitive with what we would have paid closer to home. By the way, Kurt has a good sense of humor, which helped us to get through this unexpected detour. The residents of Sandusky are fortunate to have this business available to them. read more

My Subaru engine got a hole in it on the tollway so we were towed to the Sandusky, Ohio Firestone. The General Mgr. "Andy" went out of his way to make sure all of are needs were met. He helped us (my family) get a cab to Toledo to rent a car so I could get back home to Chicago. While we were there. Other customers told us how pleased they were with Firestone's service. Was driving cross country and my fuel pump went out in the Sandusky area on the interstate. Triple A recommended this business so I opted to be towed there because of limited options at the time. They were quick to start work on my vehicle the next day and get me back on the road home. They charged substantially more than I feel was justified for the cheap brand replacement part, almost $1000. dollars just for this repair. They also did not replace the fuel filter which is should be replaced when replacing the pump. The fuel pump they replaced only lasted two years and cost around $500. to be replaced by a local mechanic with a much more expensive OEM AC Delco pump. This price included some other service too. In my opinion this business took advantage of my situation and also tried to up-sell me with additional unnecessary repairs and failed to do quality work in replacing the pump. I am a man with some automotive knowledge and can only imagine how they treat others with no knowledge of their vehicles. Typical corporate owned greedy salespeople with questionable service ethics. The fuel pump they used costs about $100 at the local auto parts store. So they charged me over $800. in labor to replace something that should have taken four hours, a routine and common repair. Beware, find a local non corporate owned shop that has integrity if possible. read more
