I had to get my car towed there because I got a flat tire and didn't have a spare. service was really good. they had one of the guys help me pretty quick. they also got me a new (old) rim and tire so that I would have a spare. it was a little pricey but what isn't these days. I'm not sure it would have been much cheaper somewhere else. very happy with how they went out of their way to get me serviced pretty quick and for taking the time to set me up with a spare. back on the road and happy !! read more

I brought my car 8am my appointment said in the morning because get set of tires in eBay!!! I was first in line and they started working with other cars and finished them and they leaved my car until 12pm 4 hours later of my appointment and now is 12:45pm and car still in the shop! This is inaceptable, I know tires came from eBay but I deserve the same attention Very disappointed I'm not recommending this service Now they mess up with one of my rims lugs 3 of 4 doesn't work anymore and now my cas has to be in the shop until they fix it! Replaced 4 tires supposed to be an easy work but because they leaved my car as a last job they try to work fast, in the hurry way and now the consequences are here! I brought my car in today for an oil change at 1:45pm for a 2pm appointment. I was told it would take around an hour. I came back at 3pm and my car hasn't moved at all. I was told my vehicle was next up. I then asked why are you taking appointments you can't honor and why did you tell me it would be ready in an hour if you're behind schedule? The answer I received was, "it's not my department you can talk to a manager on Friday." This was from the same person who earlier told me it would be ready in an hour. I asked for a card for a manager and was told that Firestone doesn't offer buisness cards for management. I wouldn't recommend Firestone if you are on a schedule. It's best to make an appointment and leave your car overnight even for something as simple as an oil change. Also, if anything goes wrong don't expect anything from employees because they truly don't care at all. It looks like, "not my department" is going to be the new company slogan? i arrived at 830am with a nail in one of my tires. they recommended at least 2 tires be replaced and since the nail was in the sidewall was a good idea. sadly opted for 4 new tires which came to appr $800. i quickly searched the tire cost online and they were way less online. we negotiated on price and i got about $300 off. there are add on fees and these raised the final cost. unfortunately did not have the time to negotiate better as the price was still high compared to my Bay area shop. however the staff was courteous, knowledgeable, the work was done quickly and i was in my way back home. next time i would definitely research the tire costs online first as the cost difference was significant or go to get a few other quotes. can anyone suggest other tire shops locally? only 3 stars given the initial high tire prices compared to online search. read more

So I waited about 10 minutes for service and the person they came out to help me explain to them what was going on after explaining what was going on he told me they were closing soon, so I drove down to American tire were they did help. Made an appointment for tire installation online and then called to add an oil change to the appointment, which they confirmed they could do and when I got there they said they were running really far behind so I ended up having to leave my car there overnight. The next morning I went to pick my car up and they didn't do the oil change and claimed it wasn't in the appointment notes. Didn't get an apology, just got looked at like I was stupid. I live out of town so it was really frustrating having to leave my car overnight and crash on a friends couch, only for them to not have done the oil change. I even called before picking it up and the guy on the phone did not care at all about checking the notes for me. Very unprofessional and i hope they work on their customer service skills. read more

So I took my car over to get an oil change because a friend had their car oil changed and I thought the price was pretty reasonable. So I reached out got a quote and I decided to get my oil changed and while they were changing the oil I just decided to have them flush my radiator and put new radiator fluid. Not a hard assignment at all. The problem now and the reason I am writing this review is two days after picking my car up I get notification that my airbag in the passenger seat is malfunctioning and on top of that I'm now dealing with my key not staying in my ignition. I put my key in my car indicates I can start it and then I do and then my key falls out. Not too happy about that. I should've listened to the reviews that I read prior about negative things happening to their cars once they pick them up. read more

Dented my car. I went in for an full oil and filter change, dropped off my car for an hour. Made the mistake of not inspecting my car right away. The next day I leave to visit my girlfriend, when I arrive and get out of my car I notice the front is extremely pushed in. I park every night in my driveway so I know no one hit it. Recently took my car in for a check engine light. They diagnosed it as needing a fuel system flush and cleaning a sensor. Went to check out and the bill was more than quoted over the phone, they gave me a small discount. I left the cars engine light was off...good, later noticed splotches all over the car and windows from some chemical that weren't there before. Wasn't worth the time to go complain. Several days later the check engine light was on again with the same code. I wasted almost 300.00 on a service that wasn't really needed and didn't fix the problem. I was a regular here for inexpensive oil changes, until the team gaslighted me when they left my car in a pool of oil after a routine oil change. When I picked up the car, there was a oil under my car which I thought could have been from another vehicle, but it continued to drain out all over my parking spot at home. When I pointed it out, they claimed that I had a leak and they could fix it if I wanted, for ~$400! No, sorry, I would know if my car was leaking that profusely before I brought it in. They ignored me when I told them so, insisted it was because of a leak. Naturally, that left me thinking they had screwed up, either by forgetting to drain my old oil when they added new, or stripping the oil pan. I had to take it to my mechanic to get the truth, who told me they were probably messy and didn't wipe up spilled oil that got caught in the chassis, and everything else was fine. (Yes, I had a minor oil leak that I was already aware of and that was not the cause of the new mess on my driveway.) Really simple. Instead of gaslighting me, they could have listened to my concern for 2 seconds, admitted their minor mistake and avoided all the confusion and my distrust in them and their work. Before, it was worth waiting 2 hours for a 20 minute procedure. Now, I can't in good faith return. read more

Stay Far Away from this place! I purchased new tires on E-bay from Simple tire, 305/40/22 for my truck. This place was 1 of there referred installers. So I chose them and the new tires were shipped to them. I set up an appointment to have them installed Friday 3/15/24 at 4 o'clock. The appointment was confirmed. I took off work 2 hours early and checked in at 3:45. I spoke to Jeff at the front counter and he proceeded to tell me he had no record my appointment, even when I showed him my confirmation. He said it never got confirmed with him from the call center. He said there was nothing he could do because he only had 1 tire installer who was new and was doing a oil change at the time. I set another appointment for Sunday at 9 am. Jeff said he would have plenty of installers there. I live 45 minutes away. I drove there Sunday morning at 8:30 , was told that the 1 installer they had would be in at 9am. So I am waiting, it gets to be 9:20 and their installer finally shows up ,a 20 something year old named Armando. He takes another 15-20 minutes to changed his clothes before he comes out to work on my truck. I told him I had a function to go to and needed to work on this asap. Now it is 9:45 and he is trying to figure out which socket he is going to use to take my rims off with. After another 10 minutes searching tools ,it was clear he had no idea what he was doing. I went in and told the service man Harvey that I wanted my truck down off of the lift. I would not trust this kid installing my tires and jeopardizing my safety. Harvey told the installer to put the tires in the back of my truck. The installer just took the tires and threw them on the ground behind my truck and walked away! I wasted 2 hours off of work and $40.00 in gas trusting this place. I complained to E-bay about them. Terrible customer service. Don't do business with these people. read more

The man who was at the front desk was polite and asked about my day, and was polite when I came back to pick up my car as well. The short story: Great service from a friendly attendant when we needed our tire pressure fixed! The long story: Our tire pressure warning went off in the middle of a mountainous area on our road trip, so we pulled into the nearest gas station... which was a terrible idea. The guy was grumpy and unhelpful, and the air machine gauge was apparently broken, so after several attempts we ended up overfilling our tires and rushing out of there. 10 minutes down the road and the warning goes off again. Now we were worried we had a flat. It was a Sunday, so ALL the nearby tire shops were closed except for this Firestone location. We pulled in and the attendant immediately checked our tires for a flat, then used his gauge and adjusted the air on all four tires. He was super friendly and reassuring the whole time. And in the end, didn't charge us anything! We're so happy and grateful we found this place and could continue the drive home safely :) read more

As with most company names, they shorten it from the corporate name because it's hard to put it all on a sign facing the main boulevard. In this case it should say firestone completely incompetent auto carelessness... We came in for a flat tire repair that we called to confirm in advance that they had in stock. They did actually have it in stock. They chose to put on the wrong tire instead. We've been here 4+ hours and counting.... They only allow one star ratings, no less. I want to make it clear that this review applies ONLY to the Firestone at 3948 State St, Santa Barbara. (Unfortunately, there is a huge variation from one Firestone store to the next). Dishonesty plagues the automotive repair industry, but not here! I have the utmost respect for Elan Dominguez (the manager), Goeff, the other service writers, and the technicians. The work that has been done on my cars over the years has generally been excellent, and for the most part very reasonably priced. If you put me on the rack and forced me to say something negative, it would be that there are some more specialized repairs, e.g., A/C work, electrical diagnostics, that can't be done here. I'm not a huge review writer but I wanted to give this place a little bit of justice and let others know that, at least in my experience, Firestone ...is not THAT bad. Actually, it was a pretty good deal. After reading all the negative reviews, I was SO skeptical coming here, but there was a 15% off for an oil change coupon on their website so I just practiced my very best and stern "no, I ONLY want an oil change, don't try to rip me off" voice, and hoped for the best. Now, this is just my own experience, so I'm not trying to defend Firestone from the other reviews down below or saying the other reviewers are wrong but I was so pleasantly surprised by my visit, I had to say SOMETHING. The guys working there were so awesome. They were friendly, genuinely helpful, and engaged in conversation with me. They were great. I was quoted $24 for an oil change..but a little bit later, I was told it would really be only $21 since my engine was a little smaller than they thought, which..okay, awesome! They said my car would be done in 45 minutes..which is exactly how long it took them. Granted, it was pretty empty today, but it still went by much quicker than I thought (especially since after reading the reviews I expected a 'gonna be another 2 hours' situation) Sure, they gave me offers to buy/upgrade to better products/services that I didn't want done, but I told them that I only wanted the oil change today, so..they let it go and NEVER pressured or hassled me into getting me to buy more services. Sweet, I didn't even have to use my stern voice. I don't know if they stepped up their game after all of their bad reviews or what, but if that's what happened, then they really turned themselves around. The customer service was great and I offered to buy the crew pizza and they said no don't worry about we open to six and doing our job. What a great attitude. I have been a loyal Firestone Auto Care customer for 5 years. They have convenient business hours and are located close to my house. A few years ago I even got their Credit Card due to how often I used their services. (APR is high, but you have 0% APR for 6 months on purchases oner $300) However, over those past few years I have seen a repetitive pattern of overcharging for not only oil changes, but specifically car parts. Today, I had the worst experience to date; I have never been the type to expect the worst from people but Firestone has made an exception. I have had it with the consistently dramatically overpriced parts they keep "In Stock". I have been a loyal customer for going on 5 years now; I not only have my own car serviced but my girlfriend's Nissan Altima as well. I own a 97 Honda Civic LX, a couple days a go the car would not start. I had it towed over to the Firestone location close to my house to have it checked out. I chose Firestone over the mechanic that AAA offered a discount for. From the sound of the car's efforts to start, I was not too concerned with the cost of the fix. The engine would turn over without a problem, it just would not spark. I had a feeling it would either be the spark plugs or perhaps the distributor. (Both easy and relatively cheap fixes). I have an out of town trip coming up this weekend and am pressed on time to have the car fixed. (Perhaps the worst thing I could have mentioned to the Firestone Representative) I was called the next day by one of the reps at the office explaining that they think it is the distributer and they would need to have it replaced to get the car started. I am actually relieved at this point as I had a feeling it could be the distributer and have actually had the part replaced on my sisters 2000 Honda Civic before. Now keep in mind I own a 1997 Honda Civic, there is no way my car's part could possibly be more expensive than my sister's car part of $140.00 at a local mechanic shop. This was less than a year ago by Carpinteria, Ca. WRONG!!!! Firestone's price is $549.99 + $94.50 to remove and replace the part (3 screws). Are you kidding me? How can this possibly be? So I started to reach out to our local auto part stores like O'riley and Auto Zone. You all have google, please feel free to look up the car part for my 97 Honda Civic LX ANYWHERE: Part #725 21011 800 The average price for a NEW part that is better quality than firestone's part is well under $200.00. I was able to locate the actual Honda made part at the Honda Dealership down the street from Firestone for only $185.81, and available for pick up. The sales representative stated that they could not use a part that is not part of their stock. Conveniently for Firestone, their parts average 2-3x more expensive than any local Auto Part Store or Dealer!!!!! I feel misled and betrayed by a company that I have put my trust in multiple times, and have even gone as far as recommending my friends and family to. The individual handling my case knew I would be using the Firestone credit card to cover the bill and reminded me of my trip at the end of the week. He then conveniently pushed the 5% discount and 6 month 0% APR..... I have no choice but to fix the car due to my upcoming trip, I feel helpless and completely taken advantage of. It is a shame that Firestone does not value ethical business practices - where they consciously overprice their "stock" parts 2-3x the actual market price. Knowing that I have been a loyal customer, I would have appreciated if they would have at least purchased the available part from the local dealer where it was less than half of their marked-up stock prices. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of customer care and lack of empathy from a company I thought I could trust. read more
