It has been a couple years since my initial review and I wanted to share some love for the staff and crew at the Schofield Barracks location. About a week ago I had called because the place that changes my oil noticed the possibility of some maintenance that they are unable to do. So I called Firestone and scheduled an appointment for them to take a look. I scheduled for today, which is Christmas Eve. I felt bad bringing in my car because I am sure that everyone would rather be with their family. From the minute I walked in to when I left, everyone was smiling and friendly. One of my favorite things about this establishment, is the friendliness and knowledge of the staff. They answer all of questions and .ake me feel that I am valued as a customer. Two stars because they are half the price of other places for their tires and they put them on correctly,lol. We were told to make an appointment because walk ins weren't guaranteed same day service so we made an appointment for Thursday @ 2pm. We were told the service would take 1-1 1/2hrs to change out 1 tire. We ended up getting 2 tires and left 3 hrs later. There was no communication letting us know that they would take double the time we were initially told. We saw several other customers leave very unhappy with their wait time and even chatted with an older gentleman that told us he had an appointment for 11am, he left about 30 minutes before we did. Went in for a simple alignment and tire rotation and waited almost 4 hours until I go ask for my car and it had been done already because what do you know they didn't even do anything and claim they can't do anything. I then asked if they at least rotated my tires and she told me yes. I go and inspect the tires and they weren't EVEN ROTATED even though I paid them. Just a complete waste of my day. Appointment was at 1pm told it would take 2 hours and ended up calling 5 times until 6:30pm being told it still hasn't been worked on. Stayed 30 mins past closing for an appointment at 1pm. Asked for new set of tires and when finished the technician attempted driving off the lift with the wheel chocks on and scraping. Drove away and my tire pressure monitor was on and had to go immediately fill up cus it wasn't filled up to my correct pressure Recommend others don't come here, was not worth the money and complete waste of time. read more

The whole point of making an appointment is to be serviced at that scheduled appointment in a timely manner. Very poor customer service and the guy in the front tried to argue with me about it taking 2 1/2 hrs to do one tire patch and told me the guy doing the service was old and that's why it took so long and it's Hawaii you won't find anyone in the area, regardless I sat there and watched them while no one touched my car for a hr and a half. Service at the front desk was great when I first walked in. I was very impressed by the gentleman's ability to multitask and take care of everything quickly. If anything, his excellent customer service skills are why I would be willing to return to this location. My oil change was fast and pick up was quick and easy as well. My only issue was the mechanic who came out to the front desk as i was leaving. I asked for clarification on how to drive out of the shop's parking area, and when I walked out of the glass doors that lead to the waiting area, I heard her mock me and loudly laugh. I found that highly unprofessional and very childish. I'm not sure what she felt she was accomplishing or why she felt the need to be rude. If it wasn't for her infantile behavior, my whole experience would've been great. read more

The staff was pleasant but Don't bother making an appointment at this firestone.... if you walk in you have more of a chance of getting your cars taken care of. We had a 1600 appointment just to mount a tire, with the equipment they have it takes less than 30 minutes. We are still here waiting for the tire time is now 1730. I literally had to walk in and ask about it at 1715 for them to tell me it's next in line "would you like to wait?" ... well yeah, guess I need to. I watched them take a tire, mount it, and balance it in approximately ten minutes. Noooooow ours is being mounted and time is now 1737 it's now complete and sitting by the door next to the one completed before ours. I understand how much work these mechanics put in believe me, I'm one myself and I appreciate their work. But they may need to hire more seeing as how they seem to always be backed up. read more

Trying to get a safety check. Made an appointment and they did not start on my car until 2 hours later.

I needed to fix a tire that I had a screw in. I had an appointment last Thursday at 1100. Dropped my car off and couple hours later I have a message saying "your car is done, however we can't fix it because your tire is too big to fit in our machine". I call back and say "so what is this about my tire being too big for your machine?" "I just brought my car in 3 months ago to fix a tire, same tires and you guys fixed it so how did you guys fix it then?" The guy says let me talk to someone who knows about this situation. He comes back and says "we wil have someone else look at it because the person who looked at it probably didn't look into it that good" That was at 3pm. It's now 530pm so I call back to ask what the status of my car is and the girl says "oh we weren't able to get to it yet, let me check if we can still do it". She comes back on and says, "we can't get to it today, can you leave it over night?" I said, "Um, no, I have to go home. I wish you would've told me at 3pm that you weren't gonna work on my car because I was under the impression you guys would work on it since it was your screw up. I said I finished work at 4pm but I'm still here waiting for you guys to finish my car. If you told me that you werent gonna start yet, I would've picked it up and just bring it back. So, I end up bringing it back Friday morning and I get a call 1 1/2 hours later saying "oh we cant fix your tire cause the screw is too close to the side wall. You then tell me you have a tire that will fit and will cost me $3 hundred something dollars. No thanks. Don't want anything to do with you guys. I called another place and they fixed my tire and it's cheaper then you guys charge. I will never go back there again or any Firestone for that matter. I had a bad experience with the Kaneohe one where I know they were trying to rip me off cause I'm a female but I'm not stupid. I thought I'd give you guys a try but you guys all the same. I brought my truck in to get a tire plugged and oil changed and left it overnight. A person from Firestone called me and said he had bad news and said he couldn't replace the plug In a tire because it was plugged and leaking. I repaired tires for years and know it can be. He suggested I buy new tire, the same suggestion given by the same store when my wife brought her vehicle in for r tire rotation. So, it may be Firestone policy not to fix a plug, so i decided to take it to another place to get plugged. It appears to me they are just trying to sell tires and make commission. I was able to tow my van there. Although I couldn't get it seen same day. They did tell me how backed up they were. They still took my van. They had it safely parked in their gated facility. 2 days later they called me told me what the issue was and thankful had me on my way. I was able to start my week off with my van out of the shop. Ive brought a vehicle to this Firestone twice now and been extremely overcharged both times as well as the job wasn't done anywhere near the timeframe given. Aside from the absurd pricing and terrible time management both times the car left with not only the same problem but also more problems than I originally had, the most recent being a problem that could've only been blatant malicious intent or complete incompetency. The customer service is some of the worst I've ever experienced of any business I'll be contacting AAFES as well as putting in an ICE comment because this establishment should be allowed nowhere near a military installation. Wish I could give -2 stars. UPDATE- took the vehicle to another auto repair shop and they told me there's thousands of dollars worth of damage that was absolutely malicious intent, to them it looks like someone was just ripping out wires and pulling things apart carelessly and that's why there are significantly more problems with the car than I had before.... read more

0 star review. This place needs to be shut down or management and employees need to be changed out. I first got to the island and brought my beater in because it was over heating. Quoted and paid $900 for a new radiator and left. Next day still overheating and went back in and they said they'd fix it. This time they said it may be a gasket leak. Still overheating. Both times the temp sensor and thermostat both tested good. Needless to say I went and bought a $30 thermostat and swapped it out. Threw some new coolant in and what do you know it stopped overheating! This place is a complete rip off and you'd think they would look out for the soldiers and families on post but no, overcharge for simple fixes, misdiagnose and take forever to do a job. I called cooperate and got a refund for the radiator job. Smh go somewhere off post please!!! read more

First off. I would give this business a 0 rating. I took my car into the shop for a brake fluid flush to get air out of my brakes, and a tire rotation. After a week of work the shop did. Three different workers called me letting me know that they had flushed the brakes but the lines were still loose and the pedal was still going to the floor. None of the workers were communicating with each other letting the crew know they've already called. They did further diagnoses, and got the result of a broken ABS unit. Since it's a factory part, it would take 2 weeks to get it and cost about 2000$. I asked them to get the truck ready for me and I'd pick it up later that day. After paying for the brake flush, you would expect the shop to inspect the vehicle and make sure the sensor and the master cylinder is not only visibly inspected but working as best as it could be. Upon getting my vehicle back from the shop and driving it 3 miles to get home knowing the brakes were still loose got home. I received the part that they said would be 2000$ to replace and a two week waiting period, I got it in four days. I went to work on vehicle and noticed not only was the master cylinder not hooked to the sensor, but it was in two pieces. The top portion which holds the brake fluid was removable with no tools. Which makes the diagnoses inaccurate, but if it is accurate they let a vehicle leave the shop without an inspection saying it was safe to drive on the road. I truly do not understand how the shop is allowed to send vehicles back to their owners in worse shape than they came in. read more

Needed to replace a tire (gotta love Hawaii pot holes LOL) & an oil change. They did not have the tire I needed so they ordered one. I was told that I would get a call. After a couple days & no phone call I called them & they said no problem it was ordered. I asked the service rep to verify which tire was ordered & she said it was a $700 tire!! I'm sorry but that is a crazy price for a Volkswagen car tire. Oops, they ordered the wrong one.. but they fixed the order & scheduled a day/time for my oil change & tire replacement. I show up & am informed that they did not order the oil filter so I have to come back another day for the oil change. I guess at least I got the tire replaced that day. A few days later I go in for the oil change. I ask about how long of a wait & am told around an hour. 4 hours later the car is ready. The worker was nice enough to give me a $20 discount due to the long wait. Honestly not horrible service, just slow & make a lot of mistakes. read more

Here's how bad I am pissed, I made a Yelp account to leave a bad review. I went in the shop because one handy dandy morning my driver side window would not go up after I passed the gate. It had been raining a lot lately and I knew it would be 1-2 hour labor job plus the hassle of buying a motor and regulator after work which i wanted to skip, so I left my car there for a couple of hours in order to get an accurate quote. They gave me a quote of 715$ for the repair, which I thought was out of the realm of reality, nevermind, asked them if they could at least pull the window up for me, to which they said, they could not. i went in, draped a piece of rag over the prongs of my gerber n pulled the window slightly up until i could grab it and was able to pull it halfway up. (hey that's atleast something) Then I was asked to pay 120$ because they worked on the car to find out what's wrong. I tried to explain that i already knew what was wrong and just needed a quote, they said they had to find out what parts needed to be replaced and explained that they found out my windshield wiper motor could use replacement too. (WTF?) Well, did not want to argue, paid n left, but I've never felt cheated by a business inside the post and I guess it was strange. I genuinely think the employees were not blame as they were being as nice as possible to me, and were explaining what the system put out in front of them. They had been handling long lines of customers and were still courteous to a certain extent. But seriously, I basically paid 120$ to have my car parked inside the shop for just over 45 mins. read more

Dropped my car off at 11:30am to have a flat fixed and the oil changed. They said it might take a while, but they'd have it done before they closed at 7pm. It seemed like a crazy long wait, but I rearranged my day to accommodate not having a car, and said okay. I went back to pick it up at 6:45pm and they hadn't event STARTED on my car yet. The tech said I could wait ANOTHER HOUR, and he would get it taken care of for me. Like it was a favor! I told him to just fix my tire and forget about the oil change, but that was still another 20 minites. They did fix my tire for free, but they neglected to put the spare back correctly. I took my car elsewhere today for the oil change, and it was done and the car vacuumed in 30 minutes flat. Needless to say I won't be going back to Firestone. read more
