I've brought my cars in a couple of times to see if accidentail punctures in my tires could be repaired. The first time all four of my tires were already nearing the end of their lives and I did an oil change with Firestone before deciding to get new tires elsewhere for a better price. This past time, the tires were new and I was really disappointed they would not try to patch it by claiming it was too close to the sidewall when it really was not. The two people I dealt with were both nice and they didn't charge me this past time, but there are definitely better places to go nearby for tire damage. read more

I came in to replace 1 tire, George made my experience super easy and super quick. My wait was short and they got a little busy as I was waiting on my car and even though they seemed to be understaffed today my wait was under an hour! My fiance was trying to get tires on his car and had to have it towed to Firestone where he was refused service with some bs excuse he needed body done work to just put new tires on the car. They were also rude to the tow truck driver. We tried calling and spoke to Bob who confirmed they wouldn't work on it after stating previously over the phone they would. Bobs attitude was so foul that when asked for a corporate number he said look it up on the Internet and hung up on us. We happily went somewhere else and also found that corporate number. read more

If decent, cordial communication is very important to you, and you are new to this store location, I would pass and opt for another nearby option. Can't speak on their repair work, but today I finally was able to connect with someone at the shop via phone (on 4 prior occasions in the past I've called unable to reach a live person), I was polite, kind, and to the point inquiring about how soon I could come get a tail light bulb replaced. The man who answered sounded annoyed, and like I was annoying him by simply seeking service and scheduling. I made an appointment out of desperation but tried to find someone who could see me sooner. In contrast, the representative who answered at Pep Boys was kind. I walked into AutoZone and was warmly greeted - they directed me to their Claymont location for the service, I called that location and they too were kind and offered to help today or tomorrow. I called to cancel at Firestone, and again, the guy who answered sounded annoyed to even take the call. I'll only come here as a very last resort. Why even deal with customers? Man. read more

so I made an appointment 2 days ago for a battery replacement. when I got there, I was told that the battery that I want it, they didn't have they would have to order it. So they wasted my time for me to drive down. But then they offered me a more expensive battery, which I had no choice, but to take. This game is called the bait and switch. When I asked if they cleaned the battery terminals, I was told that it was an additional $15 charge. Which I refused. Then waiting the so-called mechanic came out and told me I needed a new engine air filter. That's awful funny because I just bought the car three days ago and it was completely serviced . Went for an oil change (usually go to one in West Chester which has always been A+). Was told during a routine check battery needing replacing for $400.00. The checklist sheet also said they checked tire pressure at 35 PSI both coming in and going out. Tires are rarely all even. Tires were at 31 and lowest one was 29 upon entering my car to go home because I checked finding it curious their documentaction. Took car to auto mechanic I trust and battery did charge on the low side but the cable was loose as well. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! ( STORE MANAGER ROCCO) I ordered my tires from tire rack and had them delivered to the Firestone Complete Auto Care store at 3982 concord pike, Wilmington DE. I set an appointment on May 25th for May 31st at 0800 hours. I arrived at 0745 and spoke to the store manager Rocco. He asked for my name and phone number and started laughing at me. Then he says you don't have an appointment. He then continued to laugh at me and I showed him my appointment confirmation and he goes you can show me what ever you want because you still don't have an appointment.Then he goes I don't know when we are gonna get you in. Then I asked what his attitude was this early in the morning and he continued to laugh and not answer me. He then said he runs the show there. Then he asked you want the tires installed and I said yes. Then I asked again why are you laughing at me and he said your not getting your tires installed and proceeded out to the garage and threw my new set of four tires out of the garage. I needed new tires. I checked prices and Firestone seemed affordable. They told me it would take 1.5-2 hours. After the tires were on they said they needed to be aligned - for another $107 and an additional wait. My affordable service is longer competitive and I had to wait three hours total for new tires (not an intensive service). No one apologized for the misinformation or delay. I'll take my business elsewhere next time. The TV blasting Faster with Finnegan didn't help either! I was so disappointed. read more

Most of mechanics are fresh out of school with zero experience & the seasoned mechanics aren't any better! The have ZERO experience with foreign cars. I have a Nissan Maxima and I would told my transmission didn't have a dip stick! I had to show them where it was!! They have misdiagnosed my vehicle a few times, but this is the last. On Aug 20th I was told I needed an axle replaced, so left my car overnight to be repaired on Aug 21st, received a call from Alston who said not the axle its the transmission and they don't do transmission work. Took it to Nissan and my damn tires were loose!!! So didn't need an axle or transmission, just my tires tightened!!!! read more

Desperately needed a tire replacement after tire getting deflated. I'm not so intrigued with the rates and costs of the tire, but so far the tire quality seems great. The ridges on the tires look brand new. The tires were installed well. Kind of pricy for my price range, but felt like it was needed at the time. I had the worst day on Saturday when my car battery died 45 minutes away from home, too far to reasonably ask a friend or family member to come jump me. After a frustrating call with Geico and a horrible incident involving a stranger, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Luckily I was in the land of commerce and I saw the Firestone across the busy street like an Oasis in the misty rain. After a quick game of frogger across 202, I found myself in the best hands I could possibly be in. Within a few minutes, they met me at my car, got my battery going and escorted me back to their store. Since this was the second time in the last month my battery died, I knew my baby needed a new one. I didn't have a long wait, and also didn't mind since their customer area is quite comfy with a flat screen TV (showing HGTV!) and plenty of magazines. The gentlemen Ray and Britton were also kind enough to show me some other body issues with my car that would need to get fixed pronto and in doing so, may have saved my life. You honestly can't put a price on that sort of service, but even when I went to check out, the cost was exactly what I thought it would be in my mind. In a situation that started out so awful, their customer service and overall kindness made me feel so much better about the whole mess. I only wished I lived closer so I could go back for my other car repair and upkeep. read more

Just got my Car back from FireStone. I had a check engine light Flashing. It was a spark plug and ignition coil Issue. Got charged 105 bucks for Diagnostic that was the intial fee. Wait till i am finish . Then they said i have to change 2 Ignition Coil . My car is 6 cyclinder. So they said they will charge each ignition coild 78 bucks . As far as i know Ignition Coil online or in Autozone cost 144.56 bucks for a pack of 6. I ended up changing only 2 as i need the car to be able to at least drive. I ended up paying 334 buck and few cents just for a 2 out of 6 ignition coil. The labor cost was 120 bucks for an hour to take a screw out and replace the ignition coil . All in all ,no customer satisfaction Guarantee. Yes, only thing Guarantee is a total RIPOFF. If i had an option in YELP to give no star i would actually give it . read more

I picked up a bolt in my tire on the way to work this morning. Since driving to my regular mechanic (roughly 50 miles away) was not an option at the time, I started on a search for a shop that could patch my tire while on my lunch break. The person I spoke to at firestone was pleasant, and told me to swing by and they could repair it on the spot. Upon arrival, everyone I interacted with was pleasant and professional, and within 45 minutes, they had my tire patched and my car back on the road, and for far less than I expected. If I'm ever in the area and in need of service again, I know I'll be headed back to this shop! read more

Stripped my lug nut proceeded to tell me it was like that. I put on and remove my lug nuts with a gun I only came here to get my rim put on my tire and it was Labor Day weekend. I will first say that the price was right for an alignment however the person who helped me was rude. I asked him about the tire life left on my car and I felt that he berated me for not rotating my tires and I quote "might as well leave them like they are now" after I asked him if I should rotate them. Would recommend coming here for small services for sure. If you value your wallet and life avoid this business. I took my car to this Firestone because my engine light came on. And immediately thereafter, the engine wouldn't accelerate past 20mph without wanting to stall out. (I would have gone to my regular mechanic but I happened to be right next to this Firestone) Firestone claimed that the problem was due to a clogged fuel line. They cleared the blockage and charged me $600. I drove out of their lot and not even a minute later the engine light comes on and again the car would not accelerate over 20 mph without it wanting to stall out. I turn right around and take it back to Firestone. The guy behind the desk apologizes and reassures me that they'll fix it right away. He comes back about 20 minutes later and tells me that the "real" problem was that my pistons were caked with carbon deposits which needed to be ground off. They estimated a cost of $1200. I tell him no thanks and I slowly drive my car 15 mph on 202 to Route 1 all the way to my mechanic in Toughkenamon. I left Firestone with 3/4 of a tank. I arrived at my mechanic's with less than a 1/4 tank of fuel. The distance between the two businesses was 19 miles. I tell my mechanic the whole story and when I get to the part about the amount of fuel I used his eyes widened immensely. He carefully took his penlight out of his pocket and took a look underneath my car. Apparently, when the Firestone technician cleared my fuel line he also cut into it, which is why I lost so much fuel on my way home. I get on my knees to take a look myself and I could see fuel dripping onto the ground. With that much gas pouring out my fuel line, had I caught a spark on the way home I would've blown up along with my car. I contacted Firestone right away who put me in touch with a regional manager who apologized profusely. They returned my money for the horrible repair they did and I promised to never give them my business. Take my experience for what it's worth. I'm not saying all Firestone Centers are bad but this one is beyond horrible. read more

I just left Firestone on Concord Pike. I was scheduled for an oil change. My husband brought his car there about 3 weeks ago. So I decided to take my car there also. I just encountered the rudest worker ever. (Tall white guy with glasses- did not get his name but was working the front desk on 5-21-20 at 4pm) I will never patronize this place again. I moved a chair to be closer to the table to put my book and drink on. I was sitting in a corner by myself, no one within 6 or more feet of me. I was on my phone. The person on the other end of my phone could not here me through the face mask so I move my face mask down so that the person on the other end could here me. The man working the front desk came over to me and said "Put the chair back, get your foot off the table and put your mask on."(my face mask was actually on but lifted up). Perhaps I could have not had my feet on the table (I was trying to get comfortable) and even though I had my mask on, I did have it lifted up. So ok. It was more about the way he spoke to me. "Why do I need to put the chair back?" I ask. He responded saying to keep 6 feet away. "Away from who I ask?" The one and only other customer was at least 10 feet away. I took my keys and left. I am not giving any place my hard earned money who thinks they can speak to me any way. Needless to say, I won't be going back there ever. It's not what you say, it's how you say it. read more

I use to like this place. I was a religious customer to get my standard oil changes and other maintenance until yesterday. I came in for a standard oil change. When i got to the register i I found out they charged me for a synthetic oil change without telling me. I feel ripped off. It was sneaky and conniving. They didn't even pull my car up front when it was finished like they usually do. They just left it in the back. They put no sticker on the car to tell me when the oil change was completed and when I should be back. I'm still questioning if they even did anything to the car. I have to check my dip stick. Something about this this place has changed for the worst. Needless to say they can keep the 25 dollars they sneakily took from me. I hope it was worth losing a customer who would have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars there in the long run. read more

This place is a SCAM! I went their for tires and they told me other things were wrong with my car. I took it to my mechanic and there was nothing else wrong. I only went to this place because they were the only ones that had the tires I needed in stock. I completed the survey and the person that waited on me that day called to say he was the manager. Due to how cocky he was the day I went in for service, I didn't waste my time. Needless to say I did not get the $10 coupon I was supposed to get for completing the survey.
