Poor customer service due to poor communication and employees act like they obviously don't give a fuck. They didn't have a simple part needed to do the job, even though I had an appointment, and they said it would take three days to get the part. I said I need my work van back for work because it has my tools in it. I brought my vehicle in for some tire work to be done. Scheduled ahead of time, arrived on time, and they took my vehicle back. They quoted around 1 hour - no problem. After about 90 minutes, they told me that everything was done, except they couldn't balance my tires because they ran out of wheel weights. THEY RAN OUT OF WHEEL WEIGHTS!!!!!! This is a tire shop. They use wheel weights on EVERY. SINGLE. VEHICLE. that they service. HOW DO YOU RUN OUT OF WHEEL WEIGHTS????!!!!!??? Imagine walking into McDonalds and them telling you after you order your Big Mac that they're sorry but they ran out of buns. But not to worry they said, the wheel weights would arrive soon. News flash: They didn't arrive soon. All told, it took them 4 hours to do a 1 hour job. So, when they were done they apologized, right? Nope. Oh, strange, but surely they offered a discount for the issue that they caused, right? Ha, not even close. All they said was "Lets get you paid so you can get going as soon as the truck is done." 2 stars because the work itself was done properly and competently. My car alerted me that I needed air in my tires. I promptly took a pic and texted me dad. He said to take it into a shop like this and they would put the air in for free. I was a little intimidated to walk into the shop without any appointment or much knowledge. I have never been here before either. I went in shortly after they opened. An employee told me he would be right with me. I was the only one in the shop and he didn't appear to be on the phone. He was finishing up something on the computer. I am sure it was very urgent. I don't think I waited long, but was getting antsy since I had to be at work in about 20 minutes and didn't know what to expect there. When I had his full attention I told him the issue and showed him the picture. He told me to go around back for assistance. There was an employee there ready to help. He quickly filled the tires and I was on my way! There was a delivery truck close by and I was being careful not to hit anyone or anything on my way out. It would've been nice to have someone be a second set of eyes on my way out. I made it through without any issues. I am grateful for the help and the quick and effective experience. Excellent service provided by Heidi Bahuman and Brian Mendoza. I needed 4 tires, Brake fluid exchange and an alignment. Firestone price matched Costco and 5%off for using the Firestone credit card with 0 interest for 6 months. Costco only does tires, I wanted all done in one shop and Firestone did.. P.S I called Costco Temecula never answered left message never called me back. Costco San Marcos did answer they were nice Bob Baker Fiat called me back two days later after I called 5 times. I've spent $$$ at bob baker fiat for years I was really disappointed in them. read more

Had a brake issue that required parts and they bought the parts from Mopar and charged me double on almost all the parts. They charged me for a sensor they didn't even install and I had to call the customer service several times to even get that issue resolved. They denied gouging prices for the parts which are all clearly listed on Mopars website. In total I was over charged for parts to the tune of $1350. They refused to resolve the price differences through customer service and I had to catch them in a lie to get a refund for the sensor they never even installed. BE WARNED: take your car anywhere else to get service; unless you want to be ripped off on parts. read more

I cannot say enough negative things about this place. I called an hour before closing and asked if my brake pads could be fixed in time, they said yes and took my information. So I came over ASAP. When I arrived, I was shocked by the level of incompetence. They had lost the paperwork and seemed very frazzled. I was fine going somewhere else but they said they could get it done. Hesitantly, I gave them my keys. Then, a young man and his friends showed up (clearly inebriated and on drugs) and started yelling at the employees. While this isn't on Firestone, they had the ability to refuse service or called the cops. Instead, they dealt with him and took his car back (after closing). Then, because the guy was so out of control they stopped working on my car and only worked on his. As I write this, I am still waiting for my car. I have been waiting over an hour. My car is taken apart and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. I'm infuriated and NEVER coming back to a Firestone again. Update: After waiting for 2 hours I finally was able to leave. I raised my review from 1 star to 2 because I know realistically most of the delays were due to them trying to deal with the other customer. They apologized multiple times for the delay. I know originally they were just trying to help the guy but it still was an incredibly negative experience. It would have been a lot easier if they just told me my car couldn't be fixed before closing or refused service to a man who shouldn't even be driving. read more

Please go elsewhere. Very unprofessional and lack of care in their service. Had some work done here and then the next day I had an issue with my break light. I called asking them to look at it because there was no issue with the break before I took my car there. They basically said sorry can't help you we don't deal with electrical. I took it to Le's auto service in Escondido and all that needed changing was a small part on the break pedal. Firestone even did a break inspection prior and still released my car saying it was fine. Totally unprofessional to not even offer to have us come back to even check it. read more

The service requested was completed. We saw a $29.99 oil change which I feel is misleading. That add was for like 10/30 oil only so don't fall for that. Almost any newer car will be synthetic.Anyhow it was a little over a hundred bucks. They charge for tire rotation and the experience felt dishonest. When I spoke to the gentleman working he genuinely seemed overwhelmed as there were many customers. I made an appointment to get my oil change done, after getting my oil change a lady called me And told me that I needed new tires and that they assessed my tires. What they did not know was I knew I had a nail in my back left tire, they failed to let me know that I had a nail on my back left tire. This lets me know that they're not very detailed in their work especially when they tell me that I need new tires yet they don't tell me that there was a nail in a tire. I brought my Chevy Colorado to the location on Oceanside blvd. The truck needed a new transmission and they said they were able to do this for me. The truck was at the shop for 3 and a half weeks. At one point they told me my truck would be done. I got dropped off at the shop and sat in the lobby for 3 hours. When closing time came around they said it was not ready. They did not offer me a ride to my house or offer to let me use the phone to call an Uber. Finally at the end of the 3 and a half weeks, after I paid them $3,900, they said there was a hole in the block of my truck. The truck was unrepairable. BEWARE of this shop. I can't imagine all customers have this type of experience however my interaction with this shop was very poor. I do not recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I'd give them zero stars if it was possible. They're the worst service shop I've been to in the states. I would not trust them. They nearly wrecked my vehicle twice, used it to try and teach one of their employees how to operate a manual transmission, and insisted on keeping my car even though they were supposed to notify me that they did not have the capability to work on it. I was unaware of this until their store manager called. STAY AWAY from this place and their company all together. They wasted my time. read more

Made an appt online 8/13/19 for an alignment on my 2019 4Runner scheduled for the next day at 9am. It is new but I had just installed bilstein adjustable shocks to level the front 1.75" so it needs an alignment. I got a phone call right away to verify the appt. The salesman brought up the option for a lifetime alignment for $199. I told him about the modification I had just made and that I wasn't sure that it would qualify for the lifetime because I "modified" the suspension. After hearing what I had done to it, he assured me that as long as it wasn't more than a 3" lift, it wouldn't be a problem. Cool. I show up 10 mins before my appt, the guy working takes my keys and checks out the truck. We talk about the options for alignment and he explains that because I "modified" the suspension, it isn't possible to do the lifetime. Ok fine. That's what I had originally figured but I told him that the employee that called me the afternoon before explained something different. So.. please make sure that you have training standards and all of your employees are on the same page. It's now past my appt time and he wants to make sure that his machines have the correct alignment specs for this new 4Runner. Uh.. ok. I made the appt yesterday, so I'd hope that you would have done that before calling and confirming my appt for an alignment on a 2019 Toyota 4Runner. "Sorry for the delay I have to wait for the computer to come up to get the specs." Really.. it's now past my appt time of 9am and your store opened at 8am. Your machines aren't ready over an hr after opening? He eventually comes out and explains that his machines do not have my specs... I just explained to him that this is a 2019 model that came out in late 2018. It is now middle of August and supposedly you don't have the correct specs? On top of that this 5th generation of 4Runner has been around since 2010 model year... I just walked out. That just seems like a blatant lie. These people are untrained and lazy as a whole. Good for you if you left here with a positive experience. Hopefully this was an isolated incident. read more

Abysmal customer service and communication. They were to replace a CV boot and said car would be ready by 2pm same day. After having not received a call by 4pm, we called them and the store manager, Brian, was curt, dismissive and rude. He offered no explanation or apology for being late nor did he offer us a new ETA but stated he'd call us when he was ready to do so. Yikes! At about 6pm, we called again. Car wasn't done. I spoke with Jeffery and he was very apologetic. He said they were having a hard time removing the boot. I've replaced many CV boots and they can sometimes be tricky; but with the right tools and know-how, it's not that bad, so now I was wondering if their mechanics were remotely competent. He said that the car would be ready no later than 11am next morning. By 4pm, we still hadn't heard from them, 4-5 hrs past the promised time. So I called and asked what's up. They said they received the wrong part and had to order another one. I asked if my expectation that they call us to update us in a timely manner was unfair. The manager, Brian (again!) said he had no idea when Jeffery had told us when the car would be ready. Wow! He did manage to say that that wasn't my problem. Anyway, you get the idea. After another phone call that went like the others, we finally hear from them (they actually took the trouble to call us!) at about 6:30pm saying that the car was ready. We picked it up the next day. Sigh. Not once during this ordeal did they call us to let us know what was going on. Not once did the store manager actually apologize or acknowledge that we were a tad inconvenienced by all this. We will never go to this or any other Firestone, ever! If their training (of mechanics and managers) is this poor; if a store manager can get away with being this incompetent and rude, then I have no confidence in Firestone whatsoever. read more

So I called up one day last week because my rear brakes were making a horrible grinding sound. I got a price quote over the phone and asked worst case scenario if I needed rotors how much ? he quoted a little over 200 so I said cool can you do it today ? he said sure. So I dropped it off around 10:00 am and had a co-worker drive me back to work. I get a call from the shop and they said good news it only needs pads and that they can do it for $130.00 I said great lets do it. Since they did not try to upsell me anything I asked for an oil change while it was there. they said ok. I had a dear friend pick me up from work and drop me off since she was passing thru that day and had my car back by 2:00 pm. Great service and good price. I will be bringing it back if I ever need any more service. read more

Firestone University is by far the most reliable Firestone that I have been to. Incredibly welcoming staff, very professional and informative. From my experience, most mechanics will try to rip me off or over charge for parts or work. This is the first time that I have ever been told what is actually wrong with my car, told what I absolutely need done and what needs to be done with my car in the future without the "YOU HAVE TO DO THIS RIGHT NOW!!!". I would give less than one star but it won't let me. On my visit, I went in for oil change, spark plugs and wires. I showed up and the service manager Gill ignored me for about 15 minutes while he made phone calls and filed paper work. I left. Called customer care and spoke with someone who had Gill call me back. I went back to make a deal with Gill so he could earn our business back. We've been loyal customers since the place opened and always recommended them to everyone before this. Gill said he would do my oil change, spark plugs and wire for $115. Tried to have it done Saturday and Jose told me that the $115 only included the spark plugs, no wires. I explained that Gill had said the price was with wires included but Jose did nothing but make excuses. This is not the first time I've had issues with Jose's lack of customer service, but I decided to try and give him another shot. He blew it. I will not be returning and neither will my family or friends. I will NOT be recommending ANY firestone facility ever again. Go anywhere but here to get your car serviced. read more

My daughter had a flat tire Saturday night and left her car in the parking lot in front of Firestone. Called Firestone Sunday morning and Wes (Mgr) was VERY pleasant and accommodating. Took the Nissan here knowing full well there were problems with the brakes; they changed the brakes and rotors for $300, which was the same quote at another service shop, but only for the brakes! I would have had to pay $500 at the other place ($99/rotor) or worse, would have had only the brakes changed out when the rotors were easily shot as well. I plan on taking advantage of their lifetime alignment special soon on my 530i. They currently have a summer car care special going on and will check out the car under the hood as well as the breaks for $14.99 (I do my own maintenance, but it's nice to have the pros look at with the computer & tell me exactly how much brake/tread wear I have left). What I appreciate most is the no pressure sales. They tell you what's going on with the vehicle, ask if you'd like them to take care of it, and if you say, "Not today," they've got the "No pressure, just an FYI & come in when you're ready" attitude. I came in for an oil change (because my regular place up the street was out of my filter) and was up-sold for their "complete vehicle inspection" as well. The oil change for my Corolla was $34.99 for the high-mileage conventional oil, including the $10.00 discount on their website (the customer service rep mentioned this so I downloaded it on my phone really quick). They quoted me about 45 minutes, which is fairly reasonable without an appointment. (Unfortunately, I ended up being there for about 1.5 hours, but I don't think this had anything to do with the oil change... read on for the explanation.) While writing the ticket for the oil change, my customer service rep went into his standard spiel of 'a service we offer to all of our customers is a complete vehicle inspection including fluids, yadda yadda yadda brakes' which I mistakenly assumed was the standard 'check fluids/tire pressure and hey this place must throw in a brake inspection' complementary service that most places do. So there was a miscommunication and I unwittingly ordered this super in-depth inspection where they actually take your car apart and inspect everything then put it back together. So.... 1.5 hours later, you can imagine that I am very annoyed that my oil change is taking so long. There was another surprise when he was ringing me up - the extra $20 for the in-depth inspection Id accidentally ordered. *Cue lightbulbs for both of us at now understanding the delay/annoyance of delay* He was nice enough to work with me and gave it to me at half price, since I hadn't intended to order it. So, not the best experience for the oil change because of the 'inspection' delay, but I'm probably at least 50% at fault for that so can't really knock off any stars... But as for this in depth vehicle inspection, I'm very impressed at the results. I had come in thinking I needed new pads and rotors and have even gotten so far as to budget money for it... and told the guy point blank that I needed and wanted a quote for both. However, they didn't even try to sell me this. After inspecting them they told me there's still plenty of life left on them and to not worry about it in the near future. Honesty = HUGE points in my book, since I'm a relatively feminine looking woman who usually gets the "SUCKER" treatment in anything automotive. (Funny how all of the things that the place up the street tries to scare me into paying them to "fix" before my car explodes into fiery doom every time I'm there actually ended up checking out just fine by these nice folk.) Their inspection did turn up a few things which I do believe and which I allowed them to quote me for. Their prices seem very reasonable, and I may go back to them for some of the services which are a pain to do myself. I haven't had any work done yet, so hopefully can up this review after more experience. Compared to the place up the street, this place takes a bit longer, and is a touch more expensive... but I'm thinking the whole 'not using scare tactics in attempt to swindle me into doing unnecessary work' thing is going to keep me coming back. read more

I will have to agree with the other post if we are talking about the same guy behind the counter. On my visit the guy behind the counter was great, he made me feel like a valued customer and I was just coming in to use my "Lifetime Balance", most other Firestone locations make you feel like you're a 2nd rate customer when you try to use what you paid for, but not here, I can't remember the guys name but he was really nice, he actually called when my car was done unlike other places that say they will but never do. He did try to offer me some other services but was not pushy in any way, it's because of his good service and the others working here that I drive from Valley Center to have my car looked at. I don't know who was manager at this shop before, but I do know Gil, who is manager now, and he does a fantastic job. I met Gil the first time I took my car to the auto service place where he used to work. He was extremely friendly, courteous, and patient when I asked questions (I ask A LOT of questions!), so I kept going back to that shop to get oil changes and minor work done on my 2005 Jeep Liberty. When I heard several months ago that he'd left to manage a Firestone I was sad, but luck was on my side and we reconnected here! I will definitely be coming to Vista Firestone for future oil changes since it's close to my house, and I trust Gil's opinion when something goes wrong. As a girl, there's not a lot of mechanics you can trust, but I've been luckier than most in drawing to me the ones that I can. My daughter needs tires on her 95 Camaro too, so we'll be in soon! read more
