Bought tires here about a year ago and recently went back for a tire rotation on my 4Runner. I was told they could not rotate the tires because the wheel lock key/wrench was missing. The issue is that the only people who have ever used it were the technicians at this location when the tires were installed. I've tried calling the San Marcos location multiple times to resolve it, but the phone experience is unbelievable. They don't even answer and say hello. Someone picks up, immediately puts you on hold without speaking, and then never comes back. I've sat on hold multiple times for over 30 minutes with no help or follow-up. Very frustrating customer service experience. I simply wanted help resolving something that likely happened during the original tire installation/service. read more

I was excited by the online appointment system. So much for that. When I called the day before to get a time estimate for the service, I was told 60 to 90 minutes, maximum. When I arrive the next day for my scheduled appointment, I was told they were behind. At 11am, already behind. I asked the time estimate. I was told 2 to 2.5 hours. And I informed the person at the desk that I made a reservation. To which he replied, a reservation just gives me priority. That really is not how reservations work. But I was not going to argue. I needed an alignment. I had went to one shop that told me my lower control arm bushings were bad and needed to be replaced. I knew that was a lie because I had just had them replaced last September. I had several problems regarding an alternator only to find out that it was the starter (they told me it was related when it wasn't). My starter was fine before coming here. They left me stranded at their shop as it was already passed 6pm. My car wouldn't start properly or even drive. Sleazy and completely lacking in humanity, decency, or integrity. My family had terrible service on 7/18/25. After spending $1500 last October for repairs and maintenance, I had hoped this experience would set the standard for future interactions with Evans. Unfortunately, that was not the case. My appointment was scheduled for 7:30 AM today, and I arrived promptly. However, by 9:40 AM, I had not received any communication regarding the status of my vehicle. This significant delay was not only inconvenient, but it also demonstrated a lack of regard for my time. I walked back into the store, expecting to have some clarity on when my vehicle would be ready, but was instead presented with a recommendation for an additional $220 brake cleaning that would take another hour. When I requested that my vehicle be returned to me immediately, no staff member seemed to be aware of the urgency, nor did anyone appear to be working on getting my car back. I had to go back into the store AGAIN and directly advise the front staff that my car had still not been retrieved, which was both frustrating and unprofessional. It is clear to me that the service provided today was completely unacceptable. Many other vehicles were being serviced while mine sat unattended. The fact that I had a scheduled appointment, took time out of my precious weekend, and was still treated with such disregard speaks volumes about the overall level of customer service at this location. The inefficiency and lack of communication displayed today have ensured that we have no intention of ever returning to any Evan's Tire shop in the future. This experience was extremely frustrating and has irrevocably damaged my trust in this business. As a result, I will be sharing my dissatisfaction with anyone I communicate with, and I will urge them with the highest degree of insistence to take their business literally anywhere other than Evan's Tire. read more

My Tesla tire had a screw andcthe tire was going flat. I went to 2 other places only to be turned away by either short staffed or refusal to fix it because they're foam tires whatever that means. I called Evans as I was across the street at the tire place that wouldn't fix it because he was short staffed. After that disappointment Evans Tires picked up the phone and a very friendly Alberto answered and said they can fix it but it may take a few hours due to short staffed and Saturday busyness. I had no choice but to wait and also got the tires rotated and balanced since i had to wait. After this experience, I wouldn't hesitate coming to this location if I lived closer. Alberto is a hero because it's hard to find great customer service and his professionalism is the gold standard. I overheard him while answering the business phone and I am impressed because he took responsibility for a little timing mistake with a customer for their 2 cars then made it good by shifting the work around. He told me there was an issue with my tire sensor, but he told me it wasn't life-threatening, so I didn't have to do anything about it if I didn't want to. Came in at 10am, requested an oil change and tire rotation, was told it would only take 1 hour. It is now 11:47, did not receive a call so I walked inside and asked for an update. The guy went to the back and came back and said it will be another 30 minutes. Didn't apologize or explain why it is taking longer. I have been to Valvoline in the past and it took 16 minutes for the same service I requested today. Also Jiffy Lube does it in 15 to 20 minutes. Terrible service and would not recommend. I made an appointment for a 9 am tired patch that they did not get to until 10:45 am. Granted they had a few customers waiting as well but since when does a tire patch take almost two hours? Additionally, after they finally got to my tire the guys up front told me they could not repair my tire because I had a nail in the sidewall. They said they'd put sealant on the tire for the time being because the patch wouldn't work for the location of the nail. I understood that is true but when I went to go pick up my car I asked if sealant had been put on the inside of my tire. The guy up front said "no we just put air in your tire." I said "I talked to the guy on the phone and he said you guys put sealant?" He said "well if that's what they told you then yeah." Long story short I didn't trust them so I took my car to Discount Tire down the street. Replaced my tire and long behold there was no sealant inside my tire. It would have been flat by the morning. I don't think I've ever received worse service than from this shop. Got my car towed here due to its location. Was told two tires were replaced but the wheel needed to be sent for repair and they'll call to take the car back. 3 weeks later, we call and they said no... that was a mistake. Meanwhile, all safety features of the tesla has been off for misalignment. Took it back, they think they forgot to reset it, however they weren't able to correct it after having the car for a whole day. Took it to tesla, they said it's because of the random old firestone tire with the 3 continental tires. Ok... took it back to evans to ask them why we have that old firestone tire there. They absolutely refused to say it came from them. Even presented with pictures from my insurance adjuster. I keep asking them how we dropped off the car with 3 Continental tires and one very shredded firestone tire and left with 2 brand new continental tires, one old continental tire and one old firestone tire. After speaking to the manager, he agreed to replace the firestone with a new continental tire and I agreed to pay for the other new one to balance it off. They didn't put air on the new tires even though it said the pressure was 41 on the receipt. They also did not do an alignment. So now I'm having to pay for tesla do redo all the crappy work. Check your car for damage before and after.... Found an 8 inch scratch across my hood after my service. No way to "prove" it happened there. But it was there. Beyond that, service is okay for the price. But they'll try to upsell on services quite a bit, and they'll charge a premium on parts. So do your research. And again... Rescheduled my appointment for another day. My only service was an oil change and despite having an appointment I was in the shop a total of 3 hours despite them assuring it would be no more than an hour. I'm highly not returning here again. After changing my tires two of my tire sensors were broken. I'm certain they broke them and I am certain the tire pressure warning light was not on when I gave them the car. I decide to leave and replace the tire sensors myself, on the 1% change that the 2 of them failed at the same exact time. I go outside and my hub cap is falling off. I go back in and have them put it back on, and the front desk guy lies to my face and says the tire pressure light was on. 10+ year customer of Evans. Ochoa. On the phone, Mr. Ochoa quoted my daughter $140 each for two front tires, assuring her they were in stock. After driving to your shop and waiting two hours, she was informed those tires were unavailable and was pressured to purchase four tires instead at $746.81. This dishonest practice wasted her time and left her feeling manipulated. As a parent, I am deeply concerned about such predatory tactics, especially toward young femacustomers. This experience aligns with other negative reviews about your business, including high-pressure sales and questionable recommendations. While some customers praise your service, the inconsistency is troubling. Your commission-driven environment, as noted in employee feedback, may contribute to these issues, but it does not excuse misleading customers. I strongly advise others, especially families, to avoid this location or visit with someone else for support. Always request written quotes beforehand to prevent similar experiences. I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau and am considering further action with consumer protection agencies, as bait-and-switch tactics are unacceptable. I had the Best experience here on Tuesday. I was alerted that i had low tire pressure. I went by Evans and they quickly added air but had to tell me I had a nail in my tire. Even though they were short on technicians and had several customers, I was able to leave my car to get tire repaired. They finished the job ahead of what they had estimated and ..........did not charge me a dime !!!!!!!!!!!!! there is normally a charge but they did it for free because I've been a customer for many years .
