First off I wanna say I am giving this place a 5 star rating!! The reason for my rating is because the manager by the name of Hugo has amazing customer service and an amazing team behind him. As many times I have been there for different car issues Hugo and his team have always handled my situations with a smile!! As a customer that means a lot to me. They serviced my vehicle with all possibilities and always were willing to go beyond the distance to make sure they were able to fix it. And now my car is running great cause of them. I will follow Hugo and his team wherever they go no matter the distance because that is how much Hugo and his team care about customer service!! I brought my car to this place for an oil change. They recommended the brake inspection package, in which I could bring back my car without charge for the repairs, as long as it was within a year. My car kept making a shrieking, skidding sound every time I stepped on the brake, and it did not go away even after I paid for fixing it. I brought my car back and forth four more times (after Christmas) for the redos. There were different technicians fixing the brake; the last one eventually told me that they did not have the right part, they had to use the one from China, and they had been trying so hard to modify it. I wish the young assistant manager then could have been more honest to let me know about it so I did not have to waste my money the first time, nor coming back and forth for several months. Not only he did not apologize, but he also became upset with me, telling me that it's natural for the brake to make that kind of noises. I was told that he was new and inexperienced at that time. Regardless, isn't honesty is the most important factor in any business? So, I have stopped bringing my car to them since then. read more

Do NOT come here unless you actually know about cars or else they will try to take advantage of you. Was getting shaking in the steering wheel around 50 mph so i brought it in to get the balance done. $140 and a few hours later they told me that if its still happening then i need to get the struts replaced for $600. Of course it was still going on after, didnt have the money for that so i was waiting to get it done. Now i find out (from a mechanic at Ram Auto nearby) that not only are the struts fine for another 60k miles, but they are completely unrelated to the shaking. So not only did they not do the balance properly that i had payed for, but they tried to sell me a COMPLETELY UNRELATED service for $600, for a part that is completely fine. Absolutely absurd. Can someone explain this to me. I came here for an oil change and they broke my oil nut and then made me pay to replace it. Okay that's fine, I'll play along because I don't know what they would have done to my car if I didn't have the extra money. They broke my oil nut after all so all my oil was drained out. BUT. And this is a huge but. What really made me upset was when after only a month, my car wouldn't start and the check engine light was on. Curious, let's see what's wrong under the hood. I asked my friend in the Navy who also fixes cars to check what was wrong. He checked my oil and it was at a very low level and very dirty. Huh? What? I had an appointment at 10:30am for an alignment. Steven said it would take 1-1/2 hours. 2 hours later he tells me that it's a waste of time to check my alignment because control arms were bad. He also said it took them 2 hours to get to my car because there was one car ahead of me getting an alignment too. Both BS excuses. They're obviously only entertaining customers they could bait in to buying something. LIFETIME ALIGNMENT means checking and aligning my car whenever I bring it in. Took my hyundai for wheel alignment and given a free inspection (technician-Henry Woong) eclipse for a wheel bearing replacement and refilled the engine motor oil for free (technician-Angel Lara). Two days after, i checked my cars. The hyundai's battery covers were missing, these covers don't come off easily and no need to fully remove the covers to test the battery. The eclipse's engine oil cap was left on top of the engine. Luckily, after driving for two days the engine cap was still there and the oil did not spill all over the hood. Just can't trust anyone, better check under the hood if you get your vehicle serviced here. read more

Oil change, wiper blades, tire rotate, I'll give you guys a star for those services. I don't even know where to begin with this place. Yes, all the negative comments are true. They will shark you and upsale unnecessary parts/service. 2 weeks ago, I took my suv in for oil, wiper blades, wheel balance and alignment (lifetime = whenever they feel like doing it because it just seems to be "out of service today"), and they recommend new front breaks and shock and struts. I gave in. Told them, sure.. Get it done. So, i leave my suv on a Sunday, all day, 9am-after 6pm. Got there around 530pm, still waiting. Mechanic tells me they didn't have time to do the alignment. Ok, no prob, I'll come back later in the week. Mechanic test drives it, pulls me to the side and tells me that whoever the mechanic was that worked on my suv, didn't do the breaks right (was shaking.. Or something like that). I gave him credit for being straight up with me and we agreed to leave it over night, and I'll pick it up the next day. As a compensation for them messing up, and had me waiting all day, they said they'd replace a pair of front rotors at no charge. Sure. Monday, after work, picked up, drove around, and noticed a loose noise.. Sure enought, I had to go back ("something was loose"). After they supposedly fixed everything, I drive off and noticed my wheel and the whole car would shake on lil bumps on the road. I told them from the beginning, I was going on a road trip with my family and I need this take care of. 3rd trip back, they didn't do anything to fix the problem. The manager tells me, "we (says he had 3 of his mechnics drive around to diagnose the problem) didn't feel anything abnormal." I check the odometer and they didn't even drive a quarter of a mile! After hearing Hugo's bs after bs and putting on the reassuring qa act in front of a customer/s, I just left and will NEVER come back. A week later, I took my suv to a local mechanic on Franchesca rd. They redone the work and showed me the problem. Whoever did the work at Firestone, used a clamp on the rod of the shock and it's been leaking since the day they even started doing the work... On BOTH sides! I wish I can post a pic of negligent work, but I'll save that for corporate. Been going to Firestone for oil changes for years. You guys just lost a customer. Long story short, 3 trips to fix their mistake = $400+ wasted. Took it somewhere else, fixed Firestone's negligence in less than 3 hrs. read more

Be careful with Firestone, off of Nogales. They like to overfill tires so they wear out quickly. They have done it every single time i have brought my car to them. They also like to tell you they will get a part in next morning, which is a lie. Yup. They like to waste your time and money. Firestone told me they could get the part I needed first thing the next morning. So my boyfriend brought it in. They told him the part was not in yet and would give him a call when it gets there today. They NEVER CALLED. They are very dishonest. read more

I would think twice about getting tire alignment here. I"ve never had problems with tires before. However this place was close by so I gave them a chance. I purchased tires with lifetime alignment at this place. There tire selection is so small. Have you seen ratings for Firestone tires? I went to another tire company for an inspection. They told me the alignment had been done improperly and is balding. It was not normal. The tire treads were ok. Think twice about it. Your tires are important. If you go through the trouble of rotating, balancing, and aligning your tires, your tires should last. Done improperly, they will not last. Take the 10 minutes to find a reputable service provided by competent and honest mechanics. They are nice, but that isn't an indication of competency. I've never had such incompetent service regarding tires before. You spend good money with unreputable company like this and you aren't better off. Find a competent and fair priced mechanic. Its worth the search. This is an update. I have a suspicion if alignments are not done correctly or excessively, you will needlessly bald tires. Not the sidewall and treads, but other parts of the tire will bald as 3 of my tires did. Meaning this company is selling you a service you probably don't need. read more

This is probably by far the best tire shop I've been to in all my years of being on the road! More specifically speaking, this location in the city of Walnut off the street "Nogales" out here in California. I've had countless Pepboys horror stories that I can certainly count on my two hands! You think I'd learn after the first few times of getting my car serviced there.... But, nonetheless, not only are all of their employees at this Firestone location super helpful and have absolutely wonderful attitudes in the work place.. They finish servicing your car in a timely manner. .. Which is what one of our favorite employees, Jose, is doing for us today!! Since we came in today.. Jose was able to juggle multiple walk-in customers, among several phone calls that came into the store! He had such a refreshing attitude and work ethic.. and most certainly knew what he was talking about!! All and all.. not only do I recommend doing all car servicing needs with Firestone's company specifically.. but, I most certainly recommend visiting this wonderful location!! Avoid this place at all costs!!! Went in for a lifetime alignment check and they constantly tried selling me more services that I didn't need. Once they got a hold of my car, all I could do is watch add they drove it around the parking lot recklessly for their pre-service check. They then refused to do the alignment and warned me that my tires were highly unsafe and on the brink of failure, when other shops tell me they're fine. Firestone then attempted to use scare tactics to get me to buy a new set of poorly reviewed and overpriced tires from them, claiming that my tires could fail at any time. Avoid!!! I went in with a flat tire and they told me it would take 3 hours to fix it. They said they only had 2 people on staff. They didn't even offer to put the spare on for me. So, I slowly drove about 100 yards away to the gas station where the guy changed to the spare in 10 minutes and advised me of a tire store a few miles away. went to service my 5th generation type SH prelude a year ago so this is a compiled review for what they "supposedly" took care of . My daily driving subaru was totaled & hit by a drunk driver so had to revert to my old car, so this car needed maintenance. Went here because my pops had credit from this company which i was reluctant to go to because of it's reputation, which was proven to be right as soon as 1 month. I knew a lot needed to be done since the car wasn't used regularly. so i went in to get the basics. I wanted service for my ignition, gaskets, and cable replacements with of course full diagnostics and ect. First, let me inform you I was well aware of the work required and the suspected problems but i did not have the time nor tools to work on it myself. My daily driver was gone and money was not a factor when it came to restoration of my car, since personal transportation is a necessity in California. THE START OF A BAD EXPERIENCE--- So everything I wanted done came out to ~$1300 after fees & deductions.The female manager was polite and probably the only worker who felt an urge of customer responsibility. Now lets talk about the head mechanic. This mechanic(can't remember his name/would't want to either) I hope no longer works there and i'll explain. When picking my car the next day and doing the basic walkthrough, he tells me i might still have some oil leakage. (no surprise to me since 5th gens are known to be oil guzzlers anyways.) So i ask him "how much would i be looking at for future maintenance?" He replied with "well its going to take a lot of work bla bla bla" He basically inadvertently said HE CAN'T & DOESN'T WANT TO DO IT. His excuse was because "if i fix it, it's going to happen again and you'll blame me(..uhh so you're psychic & can see the future?)and we'll be constantly chasing leaks(like i didn't know? why else would i ask about future average price maintenance)". If you can't do it, then refer me or suggest a couple shops that will, i've worked in the hospitality industry ovtand its something called customer service. At the end of the conversation this guy has the guts and audacity to suggest i buy a new car. WTH?----So you're my life advisor now? why would I spend 13bills to repair a car if I had the option to get a new one? do your JOB and repair with pride, I'm an opportunity to make into a loyal customer for future income. ( btw the younger mechanics respected my car & probably would've bought it). During this whole conversation i was polite and never showed my emotion to them(I'm from asian culture), i acted dumb and ignorant to cars since I look really young for my age but I'm not, its my third car i've purchased. Most frustration was handled between me & my pops for forcing me to go there. Fast Forward 2 weeks --- -Check Engine Light goes on, ran CEL codes at home. i complained to them because i was told nothing showed up in my diagnostic, the female manger politely fixed my problem and said bring it in and we'll run it again. Fast Forward 1/2 week later--- -CEL goes on again. frustrated with the experience I went to a smaller personal shop. Agree to get a new diagnostics $$... but this time they tell me the reason. My CAT converter. finally an answer to the cel codes that i ran at home. So i bought a new CAT converter through them which is not cheap but oh well. SO THIS TELLS ME THAT FIRESTONE JUST RESETED MY CELL CODES AND POSSIBLY NEVER RAN A DIAGNOSTIC!! either that, or they never updated their machine. waste of money & shady business. Fast Forward 1 year--- They only changed my oil pan to band-aid remedy my oil leaks. (looks like they the minimal job to troubleshoot my problem) my mechanic noticed that the side gasket were old and they only replaced the top. lesson of story, Find a company that will do it right the first time and respects doing business with you. Yelp and word of mouth helped me find my new honda mechanic. GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO WASTE TIME. since 1 star is equivalent to 0 points(you cant give 0 stars), i gave 2 stars only because at least management tried and they didn't sabotage my car like some "nail in the tire shops" in the area. read more

Service was terrible I have taken my car to three different firestone locations and none of them could fix the problem that they caused.. Finally came to this location and the manager on duty was scared to confront me and sends one of his mechanic (Bill) to come solve the issue. Which wasn't bad. Bill was the only one who fix my problem that no one can fix and was honest with everything. Definitely got my trust and he is definatly the only person I'm letting to touch my car.. The guy Hugo will promise you a delivery time for your car, but will not timely deliver. I was here a couple months ago. They promised my car to be ready at 11:00am. It wasn't ready until 2:00pm of the next day. They screwed up my schedule as I was supposed to be somewhere else that afternoon. Yes, they paid for my rental but they shouldn't have needed to if they just made good on their promise. Not so coming back to this location, although I have an lifetime alignment service with them. The men who work at this location are patient and friendly! I came in to get my breaks fixed around 2:30 pm and got picked up because I was told the wait would be around 2-3 hours. I kind of expected the wait so I wasn't too bothered by it. But around 5 pm I got a call that they weren't able to get to my car and that they wanted to keep it overnight. I ended up picking it up the same day because I had plans the next morning and I told them I'd be able to drop it off again at 9. I was told that my car would be first priority tomorrow morning and my car would be ready after an hour so I ended up getting breakfast at Native Fields in the same area. An hour goes by and I see my car is still sitting outside. It wasn't until 3 hours later than I get a call saying my car is about to get checked and that they'd need an hour to an hour and a half to finish. It was kind of annoying because I had plans that had to get canceled because of the wait. I was expecting to be out of there after an hour but I'm understanding to it being a Saturday and that they're backed up. Just wish I knew sooner so I could have arranged something instead of being told they'd just need an hour tops. read more

Came here a few months ago. My car was fine just needed a light change and oil change. Im writing my reveiw now because ive been having issues with my car ever since i took it here. I went in and spent a long time waiting around for hours when i went to go check on my car it hadnt been touched so i went inside the lobby to wait the rest of the time after another wait i was told the work was done. I walked out and checked on the light it wouldnt turn on so i went back in. Turns out they forgot to do the light. They took the car back and spent 5 minutes fixing my light. I kept getting irritated looks from the people working on my car which is dumb because had they gotten One man was very helpful older asian man. Had they gotten it right the first time they wouldve been done. I dont plan on going back because when they took my front bumper apart to fix the light they didnt put it back together right its not aligned. My light went out 2 weeks after which im thinking may be because of the car itself but i didnt feel comfortable bringing it back here again because my car has been making noises from the back ever since. read more

Had such an awesome experience here today. I got off work at 0630 hours and noticed a huge bulge in my tire from a pothole yesterday. I was so afraid to have a blow out since it was the front tire. I called the store and the manager Hugo said he could have my tires there by 0900 hours. Thank you so much to Gilbert who picked them up from another store! Everyone was so nice and quick service. Hit and Miss! This one was a Disaster!!!! Came in for a routine oil change, the only place I've been taking my car for a few years. They stripped my oil pan bolt and said they could try an oversized bolt to get me on the road temporarily but they would have to order it. Now there is an auto parts store in the same strip mall, so I walked over and bought the bolt for $16.00 brought it back, they tried it, said it would not work. However, they could order me a new oil pan for just under $300. REALLY? I looked quickly online seems they go for $198. Okay, I understand you guys need to make a little profit, but $100 for a phone call (not to mention you were the ones that over tightened it and stripped it.) I said no thank you! I will go to a junkyard and pull one myself. Quickly the manager said okay if you can get it we'll install it free of charge, but I have a guy that will go and get one at the junkyard for $80.00 plus the cost of the oil pan and now their price for a new one went down to $200 and change. This situation was very confusing to me because I had visited this store a few months ago for a brake job and had new rotors that I wanted them to install in the trunk of my car, they said they could not use parts that were brought in by the customer. That being said, they were able to use the oversized oil pan bolt I walked over to get at the auto parts store. HMMM? Bottom line...It cost me over $600.00 and my car in the shop ALL DAY for a routine oil change. Break down: $200 oil pan $400 labor (Manager said he would not charge me for this! Coincidently when I picked up my car he had left for the day) Here's the kicker... My brakes were perfectly fine when I pulled into Firestone for an oil change that day. Since I drove out of Firestone that day, my brakes started squealing and produced a strong clunk on the passenger side. I had my friend pull the tire and check the brake pads, still a lot of wear on them. However, a nice shiny clean area was seen, wouldn't you know, in the 5 miles I had driven my car home one of the brake caliper mounting bolts had inadvertently unscrewed its 1 1/2 inch torqued shaft from the mount causing the caliper when depressed, to shift on the rotor making the clunking and squealing I heard. Imagine that! WTF? I will never give Firestone my business again! read more

Had a great experience at Firestone in Walnut today. Made an appointment the day before and was greeted by Steven at the door. Took my car right in and started to do the alignment. After everything was done, Steven went over the alignment spec and said what was changed. Even though everything was adjusted to factory spec, my wheel still made a scraping sound so I brought it to his attention. Turns out that for some reason the fender liner was pushed far out and was causing it to rub still. He advised to keep alignment per spec and instead remove the fender liner until I fix the protruding liner. I decided to remove it and he said no problem and got back to working on it. Despite the alignment not fixing the problem (not firestone fault) I appreciated Steven finding a solution and quickly getting it done. read more

Manny and Chris are the new managers there. I think they are really good and are pretty straight shooters. Normally I have not met many managers at any of the Firestone Auto places as even above average except for Sally. However, I would rate them as half a notch below her. I would say this Firestone in Walnut because of Manny and Chris are 4.5 starts. read more
