Warning: don't let them try to "upsell" you! They really should just stick to tires. I went in here a while ago because I had a nail in my tire. It was a Sunday, so most other places were closed. After I brought my car in, I waited and waited. Turned out they had opened up the hood and poked around. They told me there was a bunch of work needed, including replacing the brake fluid. Not knowing any better, I relented. Spent at least 2 hours there for what was originally supposed to be a very simple job. Took car in because the AC was running hot, the garage was nearby to my home so I figured I'd pay a bit extra to go to Firestone as it was a reputable brand and see what they could do to help me. Quoted $45 for an oil change and $55 for the AC to get looked at. I was fully prepared for the price to go up after the inspection and was going to be happy to take a repair quote of approx. $450 to get it fixed, and if they could reasonably justify any additional small fixes I would have been willing to pay a little extra. Two hours later, I get a call back that the quote to get the car fixed was approx. $1500. I informed them that I was not going to pay $1500 for the work and I would be picking up the car shortly. During the walk a back, that quote changed from $1500 to $650. The first quote included non-essential services but to get the AC working again was an engine issue and that would be the cost to get it fixed. I declined this quote, as I felt that they were simply trying to find a way to charge as much as they wanted as I was a first time customer at the garage. As they had completed service check and the oil change I paid $85. When I took my car back and left the garage, the AC was working fine again with no more issues. Evidently the problem with the car was not requiring significant engine work as was previously recommended, but a simply oil change and some fresh coolant. I am incredibly disappointed that for a reputable brand with previously good recommendations on this site chose to behave in a way that reinforces the stereotypes of car mechanics, rather than provide a simple and honest customer service at a reasonable cost. I cannot fathom a justification for attempting to charge $1500 for something they clearly fixed in a few minutes and use jargon to try and hoodwink customers. Summary: Do not take your car to this garage, there is no guarantee that the services they offer will be honest or accurate, or at a reasonable price. read more

Stopped in after we got a flat this past weekend, and the staff was friendly and helpful from the beginning. Even though the initial patch on the tire didn't work (since we ended up have two punctures on the tire) they were quick to help us come to a solution that was easy on our wallets. Randy at the front counter is very personable and easy to talk to. There is seating with a tv, coffee station and free WiFi for when you have to spend more time than anticipated. There's a lot of great restaurants nearby that you can walk to while you wait as well. I will be using this location for all my future car needs. read more

Many Issues That Lead to This Negative Review Background: I found a single nail in my driver-side tire. I call this shop to make an appt and confirm the pricing. Gentleman on phone said, "with all taxes and fees it's $32." I repeated and said "So, it's $32 out the door?" he confirmed "Yes." We were good to go, as so I thought... 1) At the time of paying, it turns out "out the door" means something different to them, I was told it's the base cost PLUS taxes. This didn't make any sense to me given I verbatim use the phrase "out the door" and got it confirmed on the call with them earlier. So, I tried to explain why they call it "out the door" (i.e. the final amount you pay go out the door). The man actually had the audacity to double down and say, no I was the one who got it all wrong, and said "'out the door' plus taxes". Not sure in what world this makes any sense. Then we wouldn't call it Out the Door, now would we. At this point, I gave up on this argument. It's not the amount at all, it's the principle. If the first man over the phone would have 1) clearly communicated the right final pricing and 2) not get mixed up with the definition of the phrase "out the door" and 3) during checkout this guy would take a step back and listen to what he is evening saying and realize it didn't make any send, I wouldn't have had a problem. None if this makes sense. 2) To reiterate, I went in for a single nail in a single tire repair. When I went to pay, the checkout guy said, they found another nail in another tire and they went ahead and fixed it, so the cost is going to be double the amount I was expecting to pay, going in. He said he tried telling me on the phone but couldn't since it went to voicemail. I just checked my voicemail just right now again, there was no mention of this in the 6 second message. I would have expected him to have mention this. I did not authorize this work, and given the fact that I had the above issue, I'm really questioning this second nail now. I have no vote of confidence with this shop and would recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

Beware of this location. My girlfriend's car tire had a nail in it. Her dad runs a semi mechanic shop and had one of his mechanics come out to look at it and try to fix it. He attempted to and said it was an easy fix but didn't have the right patch and he called this Firestone location to get it taken care of. After he called them we took the car in and she dropped it off and put it under her name (she did) and didn't mention that she already had it looked at by someone else. They called a few hours later saying that the tire needed to be replaced (still not aware it was looked at by another professional). Well that fleecing did not sit right so we took the car back and her dad had to drive up and patch the tire. To an unassuming individual this could go on without anyone's awareness turning a routine patch into a new tire and more $$$ for the Winter Park location. I came in with a random flat tire - no clue how I got it and I didn't have time to wait so I was going to continue my search for a tire elsewhere. (No negative feelings toward Firestone at this point - I just didn't have time). Silvio took a look at my tire and said I wasn't leaving like that. TL;DR: Firestone had the worst service I can imagine, and Walmart just made Firestone look worse with their excellent service! Please do NOT go to this place. I had a flat tire so wanted to get the tire patched and the store manager Alan told me that it would take 2 hours. His attitude was already SO BAD but I thought, "it's alright as long as they get the job done". Waited for two hours and asked him if it's ready soon and he said it would take another 45 min. Store manager didn't even look at me, no apologies, just mumbled and had no will to communicate. I thought I couldn't trust his time management so decided to pick up the car later. He called an hour later to explain that they cannot fix it and we have to get a new tire for $130. WE WAITED FOR 3 HOURS JUST TO BE TOLD THAT THEY CANNOT FIX IT. Anyway, I had to go back to pick up my car and he gave me the receipt that explains how much it would've cost. I saw "$180 in total" and apparently he didn't want to explain the service fee of $50 or whatever they were going to charge me. Went to Walmart, the mechanic checked the car BEFORE MAKING ME WAIT and NICELY told me that they cannot fix it and it would take 30 min and $78 in total. Why couldn't Firestone be this decent? I really cannot understand... Maybe it was ignorant of me for not asking him to check the tire at the beginning. But this is my first time getting the tire patched and I have no clue about cars. Imagine your fine Sunday, the only day off you have is ruined by this. I wish I could give 0 star and if anything this 1 star is for the mechanics who might have gotten the job done. read more

I realized on Thursday, as I was preparing for a trip this weekend, that I needed an oil change, and did not have much time to get done as I worked all day. As usual, I called up where I always go for great service, Firestone - this was Thursday at 12:00pm. I talked to the team there, and luckily they were able to get me in at 6:30pm, when they close at 7:00pm. I had explained I did not get off work till 6:00pm, and would not make it over there till then. Graciously they said no problem, we want to make sure you are safe, and accepted the appointment. The team at Firestone are always so nice, and helpful. They were able to get me in at 6:30pm and done by 7:00pm, which was great as I had so many other things to get done before my trip. I will keep coming back here because of the service, as well as the knowledge of the staff when I like to learn about what is going on with my car. I recommend Firestone for oil changes and other car services. Make sure to ask them about the lifetime warranty on alignments. You pay a bit extra but have free alignment for life! read more

Stopped here because we got a flat tire on our Jeep Grand Cherokee. I had already changed the tire out with the spare, but stopped here since it was close to where we were and it's location was convenient. I walked inside and was warmly greeted by Randy, who asked what he could do to help me. I explained I needed a flat tire fixed and that I had already taken it off. Randy told me they may not be able to get it done today, (it was around 3:50pm and they closed at 5pm on a Sunday) but said they would try and do it before close. The inside of the business was clean with ample seating, a television which had the football game on, and a small self-serve coffee station. Randy advised the charge would be around $30, and that would include them reinstalling it on the Jeep once it was repaired. I left after he took down my information and he said he would call when ready. The wife and I drove across the street to grab a bite at a local tavern, and within 30 minutes, I had gotten a call saying it was ready to go. I drove back over and this time was greeted by Wes, who immediately recognized me and welcomed me back. He thanked me for getting back tonight, and asked for my keys. I spoke with Wes about the area, and the weather, he was very engaging in conversation, and our talk never felt forced. About 10 minutes later, the new tire was on, all tires were refilled with air, and I was on my way. I'd certainly recommend this place based solely on how friendly the employees were and the convenience of the location. read more

I have been to several firestones and I'm not usually ever impressed, but I have the lifetime wheel alignment so I try and usually find a new location. So this week I visited this one for the first time. Hands down best one I've been to and will go again. Great customer service, professional and you can tell they know what they are doing. They kept me updated on my vehicle and I felt like they were honest with me regarding what was needed with my vehicle. I will continue to go to this Firestone for all my car needs. I hope upper management recognizes the staff at this location, and appreciates the work they put in. I found out about the screw after work and called Firestone up to see what they had available. They were able to fit me in the next day. I have not had a pleasant experience with this Firestone. My husband took his car there, later to realize on a cross country road trip that they screwed a blot on wrong. He was on the phone with a supervisor for awhile and weeks went by and we finally received compensation. I should have remembered what he went through. I just took my car in a couple days ago for an alignment. After an hour of them finishing up, they called me over to check out. They then told me that my back wheels could not be aligned, that the VW dealership had the correct tool to do so, but that my front was aligned. They made me pay full price $90.00 (b/c at the time I didn't think it would matter that my back a little off) and I drove off...only to have nothing aligned properly. Had the car in for a wheel alignment/balance with tire rotation. Staff is friendly. Waited about 2 1/2hrs for service to be completed. I requested twice for them to make sure the steering wheel is straight because the previous Firestone location did not get it done right. Now I'm back again for them to adjust the steering wheel since it's still not straight. The employees that check you in really need to pass on the info to the techs so that any issues can be solved the first time around. I'm from Jacksonville and these wonderful people really helped me out. The brakes went out on the car and they were one of the few places that were open. I thought I was going to be stranded till Monday! After having explained what the situation was they immediately went to work. I will never go anywhere else for car service. Whenever I come here they are always kind, courteous and honest. I showed up a half hour before closing, with a tire shredded to bits. It was pouring sheets of rain outside and I had my puppy because this all happened on the way home from the dog park. Not only did they run out into the pouring rain to get my car. But they stayed 2 and a half hours after close to make sure my car got taken care of. And they let my puppy stay inside with me. My first occasion I brought my Nissan Frontier in to have the air condition checked, was told it was an easy repair but would cost 300$. After two weeks my unit broke down even worse and I was told I needed a new part that would cost me 1200$, and would not be refunded any of my money. Today I brought my truck in for an oil change and dropped it off with an appointment at 8:30 am. I was told they were busy so I told them not to worry. They must have taken that as thinking it was okay to procrastinate because I show up at 5:30 pm with my truck not having moved from where I had parked it.
