Courtney Larson miscalculated the payoff of my mortgage. Manager, Kallie Castro was rude and refused to help.

Key Highlights: 1. Exceptional Team: I've had the pleasure of working with Wilsen, Ahyeza, Chris, Patricia, Jana, Fiona, Nikki, and Ramiro. They are professional, attentive, and easy to collaborate with. 2. Problem Solvers: One of their greatest strengths is that they never shy away from a hard problem. Whether it's a maintenance issue or a tenant concern, they tackle it head-on with a level of responsiveness that is hard to find. 3. Trusted Partnership: When you are looking for a partner to manage an investment property, creating an empathetic and caring relationship with the tenants is the most important factor. They have proven themselves to be reliable stewards of my property. Pro-Tip for Owners: Because they manage a diverse portfolio of both condos and houses, I found that providing clear context on my specific expectations for house-level marketing and maintenance from the start created a great feedback loop. Their receptiveness to this high level of communication is exactly why our partnership works so well; it ensures everyone is aligned from day one. Overall: If you need a team that is responsive and capable of handling the complexities of the Bay Area rental market, I highly recommend The Cal Agents.

Whitney came highly recommended by a friend, and after meeting with multiple Realtors while deciding who to work with, we ultimately chose him--and we're so glad we did. From the very beginning, he demonstrated deep expertise in the Marin County real estate market and a clear strategy for selling my parents' home in Mill Valley. He guided us through pricing, preparation, and timing with thoughtful advice that made the entire process smooth and successful. We also used the concierge service offered by Own Marin, which was incredibly helpful. It made it easy to cover the upfront costs for additional work and improvements that helped the property stand out before going to market. What really sets Whitney apart is his responsiveness, professionalism, and attention to detail. He kept us informed every step of the way, handled every challenge calmly and efficiently, and made what can be a stressful process feel organized and manageable. His knowledge of Mill Valley real estate and the broader Marin County housing market, along with his marketing strategy and strong network, clearly helped attract serious buyers and achieve a fantastic outcome. If you're searching for a top Marin County Realtor and someone you can truly trust to guide you through selling a home in Marin, we highly recommend Whitney Potter. Our house is reborn…read more We have a cedar shingle house that was looking significantly worn and the integrity of the siding was starting to fail. We were torn between restoring the shingle siding or ripping it off and fully replacing. We are SO glad that we chose to restore with Marin Wood. Paul and Romy were amazing to work with - true professionals and artisans. They restored our shingles to perfection while resealing interfaces, and the restaining is a serious upgrade to the look of our house. We feel like we were able to maintain the architectural integrity of our home - even improve it - while not sacrificing visually or structurally. And all of this for a fraction of what it would have cost (in contractor woes and money) to re-side the house. We look forward to continuing to work with Marin Wood. 10/10

We can't say enough good things about Marin Wood Restoration and Painting…read more From our very first contact through project completion, Paul and Romy have been friendly, professional, and always there when we had questions. Romy did the estimate and made recommendations as to the type of finish to use (stain vs solid stain vs paint) for our project. He also helped us pick out a great color. The workmen were fantastic - skilled at their jobs and very efficient. They treated our house like it was their own, down to washing window screens after they finished staining around the windows. Romy was out daily to check on their work, which we really appreciated. One section of the wall wasn't taking the stain as well as the rest of the house, so he had them do additional coats until it met with his approval. Our house looks better than it ever has in the 20+ years we've been in it. Marin Wood's prices may be a bit higher than the big companies in the area, but you're not going to get this kind of personalized service from them. We highly recommend them without reservation.

BEWARE!!!! I had a horrific experience with Marshall & Co…read more Property Management (specifically working with Sarah Jainchill and Dakota from Laguna Vista Apartments in Tiburon) that felt discriminatory from the very beginning. When I initially inquired about an apartment, Sarah wouldn't even let me fill out an application the moment I mentioned I had a Section 8 voucher. They only came back to me after their other applicants backed down. After waiting an entire month to move in with my family, I arrived at the move in inspection to a complete nightmare. The listing explicitly promised "New beige waffle weave carpet to be installed in all bedrooms" and "luxury vinyl flooring." In one bedroom, management left sharp debris and trash all over the floor from a recent window or paint repair, completely unvacuumed. Dakota explicitly lied to my face, claiming the new carpets were to be taken care of by move in date, only to later shift the blame entirely onto Sarah. The bedroom carpets were never replaced. Instead, the apartment was delivered completely filthy and in the exact same neglected state as when I first viewed it. the appliances in the unit are severely neglected and broken and need replacement. The kickplate at the bottom of the dishwasher was broken and poorly masked with a large piece of red tape. It completely fell apart upon inspection and requires full replacement. Stove and oven was heavily rusted, caked in thick, old grease, and still contained dirty aluminum foil left behind by the previous tenant. The paint was peeling off the range hood from age and severe grease buildup, posing a fire and another health hazard. I noticed a thick, unsanitary buildup of dust and filth along the sides of the refrigerator. Furthermore, the unit had a cracked toilet seat covered in urine, a broken front door sweeper, broken thermostat, severe mirror rot, and cracked, lifting bathroom flooring. Most alarming of all, there was severe black water damage and suspected mold under the kitchen sink, a major health hazard for my kids. The place seemed as if it had not been cleaned in years!!! When I pointed these out, Dakota dismissed these health and safety issues as "cosmetic or minor maintenance matters." I even offered my own time to clean the unit a day early, but they refused to give me the keys for "liability purposes," yet expected my family to move into a filthy construction zone and live out of boxes until they could finally schedule carpet installers days later. Management showed zero empathy, never apologized, and tried to push me to sign the inspection sheet just to get the keys. Fortunately, I stood my ground, refused to sign, and immediately contacted the MHA, who backed me up completely to cancel the contract. Please beware of Marshall & Co. They misrepresented the property, lied about updates, and tried to force a family into a sub standard, unsafe apartment!

We recently worked with Vikrant Goel and the Flat Fee Buyers team, and they exceeded our expectations from start to finish. We initially assumed that choosing a flat-fee brokerage would mean compromising on service. We couldn't have been more wrong. Their level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail was better than many traditional real estate agents we've worked with or heard about. The entire team was incredibly responsive and communicative throughout the process. They had a clear system in place, kept us updated at every stage, and always responded quickly whenever we had questions. Everything felt organized and efficient, which made what is usually a stressful process much easier to navigate. Vikrant was especially valuable during the offer and negotiation stage. He took the time to walk us through different strategies, connected us with great lenders, and stayed in close contact with the listing agent to keep things moving. We always felt like he was looking out for our best interests and working hard to give us the strongest possible chance. What impressed us the most was that we never felt like just another transaction. Everyone on the team genuinely cared, and it showed in every interaction. If you're hesitant about using a flat-fee buyer's agent because you think you'll get less service, don't be. Our experience was the complete opposite. We received exceptional service, worked with an experienced and highly organized team, and saved a significant amount of money in the process. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vikrant Goel and the Flat Fee Buyers team to anyone looking to buy a home.
