So good! I ordered the Vibrant Veggie Omelette for myself and one Proper Pancake for my daughter. (It is always nice when I can order just one pancake.) Everything was so fresh and delicious. It was truly one of the best omelette's I've ever had! The toast with homemade jam and fingerling potatoes were anything but ordinary. I ate every last bite. The pancake was really good, too. (I snagged a bite or two.) The restaurant had a really welcoming, upbeat vibe. The staff, and even other customers, were so friendly. (But, not in an annoying way.) The sandwich was good but absolutely tiny. Literally smaller than my hand. Ordering through Door Dash cost me $16 for this tiny sandwich which was absolutely a rip off. If serving fluffy French toast, it should be fluffy. I ordered once and it was the best I ever had, so I placed 3 orders for my family and it was dry. Really dry. Like eating bread with syrup. I'm so upset. It seems like restaurants are so inconsistent and just push food out not thinking of the customers time and wallet. Just enjoyed a terrific lunch here with a friend who recommended it. The owner came to greet us and check in, he couldn't have been more friendly or attentive. Service was excellent- quick and sincere. The food was fabulous. I had the Thai peanut wrap and my friend had the Mediterranean salad and added the beet patty. I adore that everything is fresh, healthy, sooo mindful of food restrictions and doesn't do it in a superior way- just offers smart, healthy food that makes sense. The menu looked amazing. So glad to have another option in Ann Arbor that will adapt to vegetarian and vegan orders. The owner and staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. As a dairy-free and gluten-free customer, ordering can be a challenge in most places. I was pleased to see several options or adjustments could be made to fit my needs. If you have dietary restrictions, as with any establishment, make sure the person who take your order knows exactly what adjustments need to made and it is conveyed correctly to the people who prepare the meals. We came in dubious. It had a 5 star rating which is why we were there at all but we defintely had a "show me" attitude. And boy, did they! Wow. I will tell you a few things to be aware of so you aren't surprised but the taste was so good... We look forward to our next visit. The taste trumps all. * The menu is limited. There are about 5-10 items to choose from. * Service was very nice, friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and they then deliver it to you. * The water is cucumber infused. (Yay, I know) * Coffee is $3 and the only gets you 1 free refill. That was disappointing. I love my coffee. * We got 2 veggie omelets and had them add bacon to both. This made the 10$ omelets, $13 omelets. But I plan to get this exact order again because the taste was perfect. My husband often hates "pretentious Ann arbor" as he feels it is often more about style than substance. But even he said " Wow!That is an omelet" * We left full but didn't have any leftovers to take home. So good portioning. * Owner came out and asked if all is well. Which we appreciated. Summary: With tip we paid almost $40 for 2 coffees and 2 omelets. We can't afford this to be our daily dimer but we will definitely come again because it was awesome. read more

Burgers I tried were so good, but I was so surprised by the deliciousness of coleslaw and sauerkraut. Regular coleslaw is always too sweet for me, but First Bite's one is the perfect sweetnesses with awesome flavor (I guess they don't use any sugar or if they do it is very little amount). Sauerkraut was also great. I had visited Germany and had sauerkraut at few restaurants, but I like First Bite's one better. I had been eyeing this place for some time and last weekend when I was craving a turkey burger I knew I had to try theirs because of how good it looked.. And the pictures do not lie!!! I decided to do pick up and everything aspect was perfect! The turkey burger patty itself has the best flavor with all of their delicious ingredients. Really good food. There aren't many places in downtown Ann Arbor that have breakfast and lunch food that tastes this fresh and carefully prepared. The menu is limited, which translates to all wheat and no chaff, so to speak. It's not cheap, but prices are not out of line with other, lower quality places nearby. First Bite just opened up, and I stopped by during the art fair to get a Green juice. Don't be scared by the green - it tastes wonderful! Altho I do love the taste of greens personally, this fresh juice had fruits in it too and tastes like you're eating pineapple more than kale. I had also tried one of the burgers (chickpea n beets burger) and it was pretty tasty. This is a great place for real food - the motto is "Food 4.0". They are non-GMO (yes!), lots of organic ingredients, and homemade sauces (I'm looking at the website.) My fave of their frozen treats is the cardamom flavor! Kinda like ice cream, but made in the traditional Indian way and good for you! Oh yeah, almost forgot about the wraps. I liked the thai peanut wrap bc the peanut sauce really brings in all the ingredients together. The decor is refreshing, filled with plants and green green everywhere! Makes me feel like the food I'm eating is how mother nature intended it - fresh, clean, and whole :) read more

I had dinner here tonight and enjoyed it a lot. Everything is fresh and healthy, the interior is beautiful and calming, and the staff was very friendly. I had the Thai peanut wrap with wedge fries, coffee cake, and a cherry berry smoothie. Everything was the bomb! I would eat all of it again. They are still working out the kinks as a new restaurant, but it's totally worth going if you're looking for something tasty and healthy. I'll start off by saying it's really nice to have another vegetarian friendly restaurant in Ann Arbor! The food was pretty decent. I split two of the vegetarian burgers with my mom - the lentil and the chickpea and beet. We definitely preferred the chickpea and beet as the lentil patty was a little dry and plain. One thing I didn't like was the minimal choice of sides - meals come with chips (which I don't really like) and basically the only other side option is potato wedges which we weren't a big fan of. The staff is friendly but I wasn't a big fan of the atmosphere. I would consider coming back, but it's not too on my list. read more

I ate here on my very first visit to Ann Arbor on a whim, and I couldn't be happier about my choice!! First off, the staff (owner/ manager?) is super nice, but beyond that the food I had was incredible!!! I ate the turkey burger which was seasoned and flavored so well, i ate the whole thing despite not being that hungry. From what I learned chatting with the manager/ owner, the ingredients here are all organic too which was great to hear. If I am back in this city I will definitely return!! Wow, what a great place. A friend and I had brunch here (first visit) last Sunday, ordering the Ann Avocado Toast and the Beany Bowl. Delicious authentic food, served hot, promptly and with a gracious smile. Pricing is reasonable. The service team at First Bite is lovely - real people who take the time to differentiate their interaction with you. They followed up with us several times during our meal and were interacting similarly with other guests. Ambience is bright and comfortable, with big and small tables and a cheerful noise level. Can't wait to come back. Take the time to read about First Bite's business model on their website - it's a commendable approach. We should have more places like this in A2!! One suggestion for the owners: your website says you're closed on Sundays but you're open, so please update this! read more

The service and the theme were great, but the food was mediocre. You order at a counter and sit yourself, but all our interactions with the staff were great. They were patient while we ordered our food, brought our food quickly, and checked up on us periodically. First Bite has a very environmental conscious philosophy with signs like "take only as many napkins as you need" and a focus on natural foods. That's why I was a little surprised when the default side is a plate of chips and either coleslaw or sauerkraut. To upgrade to a side salad (some spring mix with carrots and grape tomatoes) was $2. As was an upgrade to sweet potatoes or most other side dishes. I ended up swapping both my chips and coleslaw for a side salad, paying the $2 charge. There is a 20% discount for students, which is nice, but in total for a turkey burger with a side salad, a breakfast wrap, and a small coffee, the order came out to over $20 (discount included). The food came out quickly and both mine and the person I was with's reactions were the same: "uh. It's good. I guess." The food really left a lot to be desired. The breakfast wrap was quite soggy and didn't have much flavor (and very little bacon). The turkey burger wasn't dry, but it also didn't have any flavor. The avocado balsamic dressing tasted like any store bought balsamic dressing I've had before. However, both the tomatoes and orange slices (the breakfast wrap came with two orange slices) were very good. I'm giving four stars because the service was good and the fact that I felt healthy after the meal, but in all honesty the food is closer to 3 stars. After paying way more than the food was worth, I ended up leaving hungry and eating a second meal right afterwards. I wouldn't go again. read more

Everything was really really good, from the bun to the coleslaw, the aioli, mushrooms, and especially the burger! The coffee was smooth and not bitter. Indeed a hidden gem. We had 5 dishes and they were all super tasty, fresh, and different. Really enjoyed the chickpea and beet burger, the thai peanut wrap that incorporated a spicy bean burger, and the beanie bowl. I love that it is vegetarian friendly while still offering turkey and chicken options for the meat eaters in the crowd. We brought up the concern about limited sides options mentioned in another review, and discovered that for $2 extra you can get a side salad. Chips or salad... got cha covered. This might be new because it was not on the menu. Overall not super cheap for counter service but comparable to Frita Batidos in cost and quality (meant as a compliment) They are doing a soft launch and as such it was not crowded even on Saturday. Kind of cool to get a seat and service right away. And finally... kind of ugly entrance but has a super bright and warm interior. Worth the trip through the door to give it a try. read more

The space is adorable, staff cheery and the food delicious. We went in after a doctors appointment and before a snow storm. We were so glad we stopped by. I got the veggie omelette and my husband got the turkey burger. The veggies in the omelette were fresh and seasoned perfectly. The fingerling potataoes were delicious. My husband said his burger had a lot of flavor. We wish there were more places like this closer to Downriver and a market to support it. We'll be back again for sure. read more

I am very disappointed in how I was treated at this establishment. I visited here a number of times and was treated with respect and the food was great. However today there were new servers who were quite unprofessional. When I ordered my food and drinks through the new order service (snackpass) the server forgot our drinks (understandable). I reminded him of what the drinks were (two orange juices and a caramel macchiato) and instead received two orange juices and a regular coffee. I tried to then return the coffee for the drink I paid for and instead the server assured me that he will get me the right drink. After then ignoring me for about 20 minutes I went inside to the front door host/server and explained exactly what order number I was (to check the receipt of my purchase) and my drink that was missing. I waited outside where the female server asked me how would I like to pay for the drink I've already purchased. I explained to her that I have already purchased this and reminded her again of the order that she can review to verify my purchase. She too then proceeded to ignore me for about 30 minutes and because I was standing patiently inside the establishment with my mask on and quietly, she came to me asking if I ordered the drink hot or cold which implies to me that they never tried to review my receipt or had an intention to make my order during the 50 minutes I've been waiting. I am very sad with how I've been treated and will not be returning. Update: The owner has been most gracious and I accept their apology. I just happened to be walking by First Bite this morning, and quickly stopped to check out the breakfast menu. The manager came out and offered me 50% off breakfast this morning - so I was sold! I tried the Arbor avocado toast (with an over-easy egg on top) and a small mocha, and it was positively delicious. The egg was cooked just right, and it came with plenty of avocado. Overall, cost was not bad at all for a good breakfast/lunch place right in downtown Ann Arbor. Looking over the menu, they have quite a few vegetarian options, which is nice.
