I moved to the Tanglewood area from Cypress over a year and a half ago and had a hard time finding a salon that wasn't a rip off and did good consistent work. I found it here! I used to have acrylics but moved to OPI's gel and this place has done a wonderful job helping me get my nails back in order. Spa pedicures are awesome and whether you get a neck massage in your manicure or get your legs massaged in your pedicure, they listen! I ask for harder and they deliver. This was not good. They took me right away when I called to do a full set of colored acrylic nails which I specifically asked for on the phone. When I got there they said they don't have many colors and the lady who was going to do mine didn't like them. Fine I opted for French pink and white. She pushed for shellac which I don't like. This woman cut my nails down so short with the dog nail clipper: three nails are bleeding and now infected under the nails. The nails are thick and not pretty. I've never seen such an ugly set of nails. Short, stumpy and thick and gloopy. My nails hurt so bad, one is obviously infected badly and two aren't as bad but they hurt. My pinkie nail had already had trouble and been ripped off for months and I told her not to put a fake one on, but she said it's fine and healed enough...it ripped off today when I hugged my son and barely touched his backpack. The entire nail bed is off and exposed and bleeding. I don't know if the other finger requires me to see the doctor tomorrow. I am worried about staph infection now. The pedicure was fine but took FOR EVER! It seriously started to make me crazy :: I was at this place for two hours! read more

I went to First Boutique Nails a few days ago with some girlfriends, and we all agreed that this was one of the best places we have ever gotten a mani/pedi at. The price points were very good for the quality of service that we received. The staff were very, very nice. The interior was clean, classy and spacious, so it can accommodate a lot of people. They were well-staffed and we didn't have to wait at all. The only minor complaint - which isn't even really a complaint, is just that they took a little longer than I expected. However, it was mainly because they were very thorough. I left with flawless nails! With the manicure they also give you a short back massage that left me feeling very relaxed. If I'm in Houston again, I will only come back to First Boutique Nails. read more

I had mail nails done here for my wedding with my matron of honor. They did an amazing job on our spa pedicures and shellac manicures. The shoulder massage was practically a half body massage which was super relaxing and a nice bonus to a wonderful manicure and pedicure. The pricing is very reasonable as well. A huge disappointment. I went with a friend. She got a mani and I got a pedi. After she got a shoulder massage and I barely got a leg massage, I thought that maybe I needed to have gotten the Spa Pedi. Nope, turns out that I did get a Spa Pedi. Normally, pedis take longer than a mani but in this instance I was finished before her. All in all I was done in 1/2 hr. The polish was nicely done just not worth the lack of pampering. read more

I went into First Boutique Nail Salon after reading reviews on local nail shops around my office. Like some of the other reviews had mentioned, the salon was crowded but not to where they could not attend to me in a timely manner. I arrived around 5:30pm and they began on my nails around 5:45pm. Overall, it had a decent atmosphere, the employees were attentive, and my nail lady was friendly. I get solar nails, and I'm fairly picky about how they look. They turned out okay, but not awesome. The filing is uneven, and they didn't trim use the tool to make the nails all consistent in thickness. They didn't have me wash my hands after they put the pink and white on, which I thought was odd too. $40 for a refill is a little more expensive than I normally pay($32), but I think I can deal with it. I'm not super impressed, and I'm looking for a regular nail shop that I can go to right after work since I commute and can't make it home in time to get my nails refilled on the week days. Therefore, I will not be going back to First Boutique Nails, but I do think it's an okay place to get your nails done. read more

I have been getting my nails done here for over two years. All of the women are so sweet and do exactly what you ask of them, unlike other nail salons. Like most salons, they are very busy friday afternoons, and all day long on saturday and sundays. They just updated the salon, and now there are more chairs for pedicures too! Vivian and Rose are my favorites, Rose is just adorable, but Vivian is amazing. She is so nice, and doesn't cut or file too short, she wants to help make your nails the best they can be, and takes pride in what she does (which is exactly what you want)! They have most selection of colors in the brand OPI, some Essie, and a few other brands. As well as the CND Vinylux, and a ton of Gel colors too! Basic manicure is $15, and I believe pedicure is $35. read more

I love this place. I have been coming here for one year faithfully. I have tried several salons around the area before, and I have had bad luck at each of them other than First Boutique. Everyone is really nice. Tammy always does the threading on my eyebrows and I get tons of compliments. She also does my manicures which last a long time, and I too get compliments on those. All of the ladies that have helped me have done awesome and they are really sweet. They really take great care of my 84 year old grandmother. When my mom called asked me to meet her here for a manicure, and i jumped at the chance since my nails needed to be done.... I got there soon after and she was already in a chair... While it was crowded, it only took a few minutes for a seat open up for me. The woman who did my nails was no nonsense and did not speak a lot, which I don't mind at all. I've been here 3 times and my nails have come out perfect every time! A little pricier than other places ($25mani/$15 pedi) but you're paying for better quality. I highly recommend Mimi for manis. She is very thorough and even nags the other lady doing my pedi to do the same lol. The polish is nice and thick and lasts for at least a week for me, even longer if I am careful. This is my go to place for manipedis in Houston. You can't beat the value for your money. The quality of the nail work here is consistently high, no matter which nail tech you go to. My only complaint is that they don't always shape my nails the way I would like, but I can file down the edges myself at home. I've been coming here for years and at this point, of course, there have been better visits than others. However, today really proved why I have been loyal to such a staple business in the neighborhood. Last week, I got a set of powder acrylics filled and they were not done well. I'm not sure what was up but the lady that did them wasn't my usual tech and didn't seem comfortable with the materials she was using. Ultimately I left, nails done, but the gel was streaky, nails were left dirty, there were air bubbles around the cuticles, etc not to mention they didn't even have the first two colors I asked for and it took double the time it typically takes to fill a set. I just wasn't happy with the job she did, especially since im putting upwards of $100 into nails every few weeks, but they were busy and I didn't really have any more time to wait for them to be fixed, so I paid and went on my way. Lo and behold, a few days later the edges of the acrylic started bubbling up and separating from my nail bed. This had never happened so quickly after my previous appointments. Today, I went in, explained the situation, and they completely redid everything without even a second thought! Often nail salons don't give you the benefit of the doubt. Any issues are blamed on the patron and the techs are stingy or rush through corrections if you speak up. Not only did they correct their mistake almost a week later but they did an amazing job! Left the tech a nice tip but didn't have to pay a dime, which is how it should be, but often isn't. Not that I think this nail salon needs another positive feedback, it's always busy with well paying customers and the country club crew, but they're a great business to support! They listen and clearly want your continued patronage more than the money--a rare find in a nail salon! read more

Tried several of the popular nail places in the Memorial area, but this was, by far, the best experience. Although you can walk in and be serviced, I phoned ahead and mentioned the Yelp reviews and how I wanted to be on the 5 star service. Well, I was not dissappointed. My nail technician was polite, carefu,l and detailed oriented; and even the arm/leg/neck area massage (which is included in the mani/pedi service) was firm and productive. I've been coming here for a couple years now. It's on my way from the area I'm usually in. I usually don't make an appointment with a specific person because even if you do, they usually don't wait for the appointment times. I've had to wait up to 30 - 40 min when I used to make appointments for specific nail technicians. Hence, the quality of my work is a hit or miss. They do have a good selection of colors. I wish they had better gold glitter selections though!! The lady who runs the place is extremely sweet and works with you if there is anything you don't like. I love that they give you a massage on your shoulder at the end of the mani/pedi service but the last time I went it seems they have began to charge separately for it. I only went there because it was part of the package and the price was reasonable. Sometimes the nail techs aren't paying attention and the foot massages are barely a massage. Also I hate that they have taken down the sign of the prices and services offered. I don't always remember the prices and I feel like they try to push you to get more done without having a price visibly available to make that decision. I tried this place today after reading reviews. While I didn't dislike it, I didn't like it either. I had to wait a while at the desk while both women were taking calls. Then one of the women just walked off once she finished the call. Um ok. Finally, someone came to help me. I was surprised by the wait when I passed by the staff lounge and saw 5 techs sitting and playing cards! It was only 10am and they open at 9am so it wasn't like they would have been on lunch. My pedicure was started in a reasonable amount of time, but no one came to start my manicure. Finally, one of the ladies that was playing cards showed up to do my manicure. Not a huge deal, but it added 15 minutes to the total time after the pedicure was finished( they would have likely finished at the same time if she had come out earlier). Neither tech was overly friendly, but they were polite and did their job. The tech next to me was texting with one hand while working with the other! I paid extra for a " massage" that was ok, but lasted only about 5 minutes, not worth the extra charge. The places is old and dingy looking which makes it look dirty and someone from the card game had cooked something that smelled really strong and it was detectable in the salon. My nails and toes look ok. Nothing spectacular- I have had better and worse. No one asked about the service upon leaving- there was little customer service at all. I did notice one lady was sitting in a chair waiting for close to 20 minutes and then someone came in and immediately was helped! I don't know if she had an appointment or if it was an oversight ( it looked like no one was assigned to help the lady sitting and waiting in a pedicure chair) or not, but paired with the other mediocre service it just looked bad. All in all there was nothing to make me want to return or recommend the place as there was nothing exceptional or even good about it. Too bad, I was really looking for a close place! read more
