The first time we went we had a great experience. Hence, my 5 star Google review last month. This time totally different, we waited over 30 min despite making an appt. I told them I wanted builder gel full set. She starts taking off my shoes, so I tell her again, no pedi. She says ok walks away. FFW another girl is doing my nails, she was using the nail file and making me bleed. Kept getting the skin on the side of my nail, I had to keep asking her to stop. Smh my fingertips are so sore today from being knicked. Than another lady comes again and starts getting some things ready, than starts to try to give me a pedi AGAIN. She took off my nail polish off both my nail artist and I asked her what she was doing? So she rudely walks away. The girl finishes my nails, paints my toes to match. Than has the nerve to charge me for a pedi. Which they didn't do, they only painted my toes because they don't listen. They do not listen to their customers, pay no attention to whether they are hurting you or not. They were so good last time, what happened? Never again! read more

Started going to the nail shop across the street. Elegant nails wouldn't listen to what I'd actually want they just did what they wanted. Started getting awkward having to recorrect so much. They started charging me more for the same thing I'd get the past year. read more

I was hesitant about this place because of the reviews, but I had some classpass credits to use last minute so I booked a pedicure. I had a phenomenal experience- my feet had been in hiking boots for a month so the situation was dire. But they completely turned it around and did a lovely job with my pedicure. They were even short-staffed the day I went in but they really took their time to make sure it was right. And they let me stay as long as I needed to afterwards to make sure it dried. I love this place. After 7 years living outside the country, I was so pleased to find this place was still in operation. The deluxe spa pedicure is amazing; paraffin wax treatment and hot stone massage, leaves your feet so soft and feeling so cushioned. The service is always great here, and they do an amazing leg and foot massage with your pedicure. They have also recently installed new spa pedicure chairs, which are divine. They have a new price list from 12 December 2015, but even with the increase in price, it's well worth visiting. read more

First time here & it was nice experience!! They are not accepting card transaction at the moment. The good thing is they have zelle, venom or cash app as options to pay through. There's a sign placed behind the register but I think that the sign should be placed at the door so ppl can read it as they are entering & won't be surprise when it comes to pay. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I have never left a nail salon wanting to cry out of frustration ever before. 1. The shape was wrong (they looked square round rather than coffin) 2. The nail lengths were all different and I had to ask the lady to even them out because she wasn't. 3. She was rude and had attitude the whole time but I figured I'd stick it out. 4. Every time I pointed out a problem she would mumble under her breath and act fustrated and tell me it was just "my nails". 5. I literally had to leave with my nails unpainted because of how bad they looked at that point. I told her I'd pay so I can just leave and get them fixed elsewhere. And she charged me 45$! Overall avoid this place girls. You're better off going to Evons or any other place that's not this one. ***Reviews are more honest on yelp than on Google so it can be misleading. read more

I've been coming here for years and overall it's great! Reasonably priced, clean, and consistent. The best part is they give a great massage with manis or pedis. I haven't been anywhere else that does as good of a massage that's included. At other places it's like 2 min. Sometimes I just go to get a quick massage! The only downside is it seems like many of their colors are old and there's limited selection of new fresh colors. Multiple times I get my nails done, and I see bubbles/cracks that I assume are because of the old polish. So I try to find new ones. read more

Thanks to Therese's excellent review, I checked out Elegant Nails and Spa, since the places I usually go to get my brows done are closed on Mondays. Everyone who worked there was super friendly, and I was well on my way to getting my eyebrows waxed even before I walked in the door! They quickly took me to a room and had me lay down on the bed. I'd have to say the bone I have to pick with that is the strange red stains on the towel... was it blood? Ketchup? I was a bit mystified. But the woman that did my brows was absolutely sweet -- she took extra care with the wax, making sure it was spread evenly, and really made sure I was satisfied with the results! And getting my brows and lip done came to the grand total of... 10 bucks! It was definitely a satisfactory experience (sans the red stains). :) read more

It's not the best place, and it's also not the worst place. It's cheap and they get the job done. Really depends on the technician you get that day. I would say there's 1-2 really good ones and the rest are ehh. I had shellac done recently for engagement photos. The tech painted outside my nail but didn't fix it so of course after washing my hands several times it peeled. It was so annoying as it was my ring finger for my photos. They have a timer when they massage you but again some of the techs just rub your legs up and down. I finally started requesting if they can do it a little harder or might as well not do it at all. I normally visit a nail salon on my side of town for regular mani/pedi appointments with my favorite technician. However, I had a chip on one of my solar tipped nails that I kept messing with until I effectively picked it completely off. I didn't want to wait to see my technician for a simple repair and repolish, so I was looking for another salon close to my job to visit for a quick repair. I remember passing the Elegant Nail salon before so I stopped by there today (2-17-12). There was only one person being serviced and the rest of the staff were sitting around talking. I explained what I needed and after a brief conversation amongst themselves, one of the technicians tells me, "we don't do solar nails". I thought I didn't hear her correctly, so I asked her to repeat herself. She then tells me, "the guy who does 'fake nails' isn't here today." I can't believe that I asked, but I did--"ONLY ONE PERSON IN THIS PLACE DOES ARTIFICIAL NAILS?" A rude guy that other reviewer mention leans over and tells me, "Yes--he's out". I guess what little I needed done wasn't worth their effort, so they turned down my business. ?! Seeing some of the other negative comments here on YELP reassures me that in turning down my business, they really did me a favor. ^_^ read more

I've had two pedis done here. Both turned out very nice. The staff are efficient but thorough. My technician spent a lot of time fussing over the cuticles on my toes. She made sure every bit of loose cuticle was cut away. She was precise and did not cut any live skin. I love perfectionists. She did great job on the hot stone massage, and I felt very relaxed. They have a great color selection. I don't think my toes have ever been this nicely groomed. The technician used tools that were sterilized in an autoclave. I had to wait about 15 minutes for her to do this, but I didn't mind. It is for my protection, so I was able to relax and not worry about what might be lurking on the tools. All in all, a good, clean nail spa. I will be back. read more

Elegant Nails & Spa is a great place to get a quick and inexpensive manicure in a convenient area. I came across the shop there was a long wait at the two nail salons across the street (can't recall the name, but in Randall's shopping center). I went in, and was immediately seated. The place is clean and somewhat updated, but not decorative or fancy by any means.The ladies are very friendly, and there are always plenty of staff there. I got a regular manicure and brow wax for $20 and was out in 30 minutes! Elegant Nails & Spa is not where I would go to spend a relaxing day at the spa, but they get you in and out and get the job done (I've gotten just an $8 brow wax there several times and they can get you in and out the door in LITERALLY 5 minutes) read more

This may have been the first place I did a pedi in Houston, which would mean I've been there on and off for 2+ years (thinking out loud here) summary: price - on the low end, attitudes - good, cleanliness - decent (and you get your own instrument box), consistency - eh, soso long story... The first few times I visited Elegant I was sold. You're given your own box of tools that they use whenever you visit which I was very keen on. They're nice, the wait isn't usually much more than a few moments, price is very decent and the outcome is pretty darn good! My qualm is inconsistency and when it comes to the amt of time you're given (aka how fast the whole process goes, if you get much more than a short massage...etc.). My fave part of the whole pedi experience is when they really just scrub the souls of my feet! I'll admit it takes a lot not to wince from the tickling (heheh) but when the amount of scrubbing is at a minimum I get a bit disappointed... (not to much TMI I hope :p) If you are a first timer in the mani/pedi dept - this isn't the type of place that will result in feeling like you've COMPLETELY indulged but they get the job done and don't lighten your purse by a few lbs ;) read more

I will never set foot in this establishment again. Went there Sunday for mani/pedi. The nail technician asked what pedicure I would like I told her. She didn't understand me so she gave me a menu. I pointed to her exactly what I want (basic pedi $25) and mani ($35). The water was way too hot. I told her. She said she fixed it. It was still too hot so I just propped my feet up until the water cooled. The application of the polish was ok. I go to pay and the technician charges me $75. I asked why. She said I got delux mani and pedi. I said no I asked for reg pedi delux mani. "Well that's what you got". I angrily paid. Now, two days later, the mani is already chipping on several fingers and the top coat seems to be coming off most. I paid $95 for this. I understand shellac doesn't last forever but two days?! Plus the owner of the shop continuously stares customers down. read more

I have ingrown toe nail which bordered me for months. She did clean it out and I feel a lot better. She is really gentle and professional. THEY WAXED OFF MY SKIN! I went after work on Thursday and the place wasn't too busy. Most of the staff was sitting around and chatting. I walked in and told them I wanted to get my eyebrows waxed and the lady who greeted me pointed to this guy that was already working on some lady's nails, and told me to wait. I waited for a couple minutes before the guy got up and ushered me to a back room. The room was clean, no obscure stains. I'm a stickler for cleanliness/sanitation, so I definitely noticed when the guy didn't bother to wash his hands before going to work on my eyebrows (especially after working on some person's nails). I have to admit, the guy doing my eyebrows did spend a good amount of time on me, but part of me thinks it's because he had no idea what he was doing. During the waxing, I felt him pull one of the strips off and unlike the previous strips, this one hurt a lot more. After he finished, I looked in the mirror and noticed that my eyebrows did look cleaner and better shaped. It wasn't until a got home, after the redness had gone away, when I noticed a cresent shaped welt an inch below the arch of my eyebrow! The guy had waxed my skin off! I've gotten my eyebrows waxed a plenty of times before and this has never happend to me, ever. The place IS cheap though, only cost me $7 to get my eyebrows done, but it cost me some skin :( read more

Yay! This nail salon is right next to Postnet, where I go to for my mailing needs done with a smile :) Anyway, I needed some hair removal done, and they looked swamped, but they ushered me in and got me set up right away. I am wary of waxing places as I have sensitive skin, and with the face, you have to be especially careful, but the lady (Linda), was very careful, and the hot wax wasn't crazy hot, which is when you are super susceptible. She charged me $15 for eyebrow, upper lip and chin. My face doesn't look like it's in danger of burning. I think I just might come back. read more

My first visit was on a Sunday and the owner Tiffany not only seviced me, but corrected someone elses work! The staff takes their time and you're never rushed with the service you're receiving. I've been coming here for the past year. It's literally down the block from my house, and the convenience factor plus pricing was too hard to neglect. The first time I went here for a mani/pedi/eyebrow wax, I was sold. The were very thorough when it comes to cleaning your cuticles, nails, and feet. Plus, I really enjoy their hand/feet massages. Best I've ever had. The thing is, lately I feel like everything has gone a bit downhill. The girl that use to wax my eyebrows doesn't do that anymore, and the new girls are HORRIBLE! I've had my eyebrows waxed since I was 14 and know how it's suppose to feel. The last couple of times it hurt. Like really, really hurt. And it wasn't until I got home that I found out why. They actually tore my skin off. I have these little crescent shaped marks on my eyebrows where my hair (and skin!) use to be. On top of that, they trimmed them far too short. I look like I have little buzz-cuts on my eyebrows. They didn't even bother to clean the hair off my face. Really, guys? The main/pedis are still decent. I've come to realize though that they're cutting too deeply into your cuticles. My nails have been digging into where my cuticles use to be resulting in a bit of a burning and irritating, somewhat painful experience lasting roughly 3-5 days. If this has happened to you, I recommend buying some Neosporin and band-aids ASAP. Also, because of this, the cuticles and skin around my nails grows back thicker than it once was. So, how it use to be a year ago? Awesome. How it is now? Awful. The massages are still great, thus two stars vs one, but I still wouldn't recommend coming here. I'll be looking for a new place the next time I need to pamper myself. read more

Had a tech cut my big toenail at a complete diagonal ... uhhhh. trying to fix it she doesn't I leave it alone but am like WHY CANT YOU SEE THAT?! went yesterday for a mani pedi - I never get manicures, but have an event today. woke up this morning not even 12h later the whole thing is peeling off my fingernails - sloppy job all over my cuticles. This place was a disaster; pedicure was mediocre but it got worse when the technician did my refill. He did a poor, very sloppy job on my nails and disappeared for 10 minutes to do a walk-in client's eyebrows. The disaster came when another customer needed to speak with the manager for a payment problem. The employees kept shouting and screaming at each other in Vietnamese and obviously nobody was able to handle the problem. Supposedly the manager comes to the store once a week and it shows!! Manicure was great, but my pedicure was awful. The paint looked fine in the bottle, but on my nails it was bubbly/bumpy. They said it was "sand in the paint" and I had them take it off, but I was still charged for it. I also had my eyebrows done, just to clean them up and specifically said "not thin", not only are my brows thin, they're now uneven :( read more

If you are looking for a spa atmosphere this is NOT your place, but if you want a good quality mani/pedi for a reasonable price, no frills, I can vouch for this place. It is clean, the girls do good workmanship and they always give me a good neck and back rub. I do not get acrylic though so I have no opinion in that area. The one and only disappointing experience I had is with the MAN who works there so if they try to put you with him DO NOT accept it. I haven't seen him there in a really long time though so maybe they figured out that he's bad for business. read more
