Great dive bar with true dive bar vibes. The mixed drinks feature generous pours and reasonable prices. Our bartender was friendly, quick and polite, engaging in pleasant banter with us and the other customers. The bar offers live music and ample parking. First Cabin seems to have a loyal clientele of locals, many of whom seem to start out their day with a visit (see opening hours of 6 am.) Who am I to judge? Free street parking.

4++ A great neighborhood tavern / dive bar that feels like it's been around for a long time and one of those type of places where the vibe is that this is a local favorite. The service was quick and friendly as I sat down at the bar. Pretty solid spirits and beer selection, especially for the size of the space. The prices were more than reasonable so I ordered a bourbon or two neat while killing time here and the Dodgers postseason was on the television. Just a side note...this was the game where Freeman got the grand slam in extra innings! :) I was meeting up with a friend for dinner in the area and I got to the area a little early. This place popped upon my radar when I was looking for somewhere to kill a little time. I'm so glad I found this place. I found parking right across the street pretty easily on a Friday night.

Great place to bring adult children. Ha ha.

Home away from home!!! Service is awesome. Makes you feel like family. Love love love it. My only go to dive bar. Always see regulars who are all good people!!

Apple is a very charming mixologist that makes hanging around a bunch of dudes fun lol. Great place to grab a drink and relax for a bit.

Amazing!!! Great service!!! The owners love their patrons!!!! They are not judgmental at all or do not discriminate against anyone that doesn't belong there! The greatest place ever!

Sweet little bar and super friendly staff. Good music, great crowd! Reasonably priced as well. I enjoyed the old school feel here.

Bring back Cabin Fever? Bobby is a great bartender. I always feel safe there as a woman because Bobby runs a tight ship.

Does anyone know if they charge extra at night? I've been there with a friend and were charged an extra .50 per drink after the shift change. I noticed the bartender at night charging us extra twice now.

Does anyone (horseplayers, drinkers) remember the bar that was across the street from infield parking, on Colorado Place in the 70s and 80s? Rumored to be a hangout of trainers, jocks and agents.

One place around there was Marty's Westerner.

Are you reopening now that we're in yellow tier?

The establishment successfully charged their card but when it came time to return it the card was nowhere to be found. What happened afterward is what troubled me most though. Rather than taking responsibility...offering meaningful assistance or even demonstrating genuine concern....we were told that they "might have given his card to someone else," that "there was nothing they could do," and most astonishingly... that "it sucks, but it happens". But losing someones debit card while it is in your care should not simply be dismissed as something that "happens". We contacted the business through multiple platforms. We returned in person the following day to see whether the card had been found. At every opportunity we hoped someone would take ownership of the situation and make a sincere effort to help resolve it..that did not happen. And there is another piece of this experience that I cannot comfortably ignore. The person I went with was a person of color. Afterward I read other reviews describing troubling experiences at this establishment involving people of color. I cannot claim to know what motivated the way my compatriot was treated and I will not make an accusation I cannot prove. But when a pattern begins to emerge businesses should be willing to examine it rather than dismiss the people raising concerns. Ultimately this is about something very simple... dignity, accountability and the way we choose to treat one another. Mistakes happen...cards get misplaced...employees make errors but character both individual and institutional is revealed in what happens next. A business cannot always prevent a mistake but it can choose whether to respond with responsibility, compassion and respect. In this case that opportunity was there repeatedly. Unfortunately though this establishment chose not to take it. At the very least they could have offered to reverse the charge on their card to compensate for the mistake. I hope management takes these concerns seriously...not simply because of one lost debit card, but because every person who walks through the door deserves to know that if something goes wrong, their concern will matter, their property will matter, and they will be treated with the basic dignity and respect every customer deserves.

Creamy and tomato-y. Shrimp was cooked well but the mussels were a bit overcooked. Would probably get the shrimp one next time instead of house specialty. Shrimp and grits: shrimp was overcooked, grits were fine. Super cheesy! Oyster poboy: pretty good. Oyster isn't my first choice but it was done well. Came with fries but we upgraded to the clam chowder. It was only ok. Chowda tots: fries and tots were very crispy, cooked perfectly. Toppings though made it more like a salsa or loaded potato. Nothing about it felt like chowder.
