Ugh we aren't trying to get perfect teeth like out of a dental magazine, just help us maintain good oral hygiene and health. And they do that at Hakala Family Dentistry. They are professional, and the office staff are friendly and helpful. They are centrally located in Glendale area and parking is never an issue. What I appreciate most is the honesty: no pressure, no exaggerated treatment plans, and no "mystery cavities." Dr. Rosso and the team take a conservative, common-sense approach and explain things clearly. They've also helped fix issues from failed repairs done by other dentists, and the difference in quality is obvious. Highly recommend this group.

I came to the practice as a transfer from my dentist Dr. Lee. He left the state and his patients were referred to Aspen. I was assigned to Dr. R. I can't comment on the quality of care as this was just a cleaning, but I was mildly surprised when the dentist appeared before the cleaning and not after. I don't know if my 60 plus years of being a dental patient are atypical, but in all that time the dentist always checked out my teeth after the cleaning. OK, so maybe not a big deal. But strange. Worse, however, was Dr. R's chairside manner. Maybe he was in a hurry or having a bad morning. I can't say. However, I was stunned when he appeared, inspected my mouth and left all without as much as a "good morning". He never introduced himself to me!!!!! We had never met. I was new to the practice. Yet, he literally never acknowledged me as a person or a new patient. Honestly, I do not understand the complete breakdown of normal interpersonal skills. I wasn't expecting to swap personal anecdotes or a touchy feely discussion of feelings. However, common courtesy would dictate a greeting and a welcome to the practice. I might give them a second chance but won't give a third one unless things improve. If it were not such a hassle switching dentists, I honestly might not be returning.

First dentist was when I developed a tooth ache on a front bottom molar. Ut had a chipped filling, and I assumed there was decay. Dentist said no and she could top it off. She did say, however, that 2 root canals on lower molars were failing and needed to be redone and that I had periodontal disease. Turns out the tooth that ached not only had decay, but needed a root canal. The lower molar root canals were not failing, and I didn't have periodontal disease. She did miss a front tooth root canal that was failing - had an abscess at the top of the root. Another time I had a molar filling done and within 2 mo a chip came out if the filling which has gotten bigger, putting it at risk for decay. They did let that first dentist go. The positive is the endodontist who works with this group. Stellar work, and neat guy. You can tell he's passionate about his job and cares about patients.

The office is not cooperative at all in resolving my conern despite me reaching out to them multile times over the past couple of weeks with evidence and now they are threatening me that they will send my statement to a debt collection agency, effectively hampering my credit score! I feel like a victim because of this lack of communication and refusal to take responsibility!
