Super high quality work definitely worth every penny. I see so many peoples fences that look like a rush job or something behind a track home. My fence now lets me be way more prideful in owning my home and I can't stress enough the ease it took to get my project going. UPDATE!!! 10/6/20 Buyer Beware!!! We had a good experience with Chris initially when we had our automatic gate replaced approximately 2 years ago. Since then ALL of our calls and texts have gone unanswered & Ignored! We have had nothing but problems with the gate and opener. Over the past 24 months we have had at least 3 other gate people look at it. Each one has told us the work is POORLY done and needs to be re-done. We are looking at at several thousand dollars to fix a gate we spent over $5000 just shy of two years ago. The work we had done on the gate, and opener is absolutely awful. The responsiveness to problems by the owner and this company is even worse (non existent). We are so disappointed with our experience. One more thing... Chris and his team at First Class Fence did a phenomenal job with putting in new fencing for us in our backyard, along with a complicated retaining wall, gorgeous ironwood fencing and gates around the pool, a separate iron gate separating an upper yard area from the lower yard, and replacing two front gates and a deck gate. We discovered some additional things that we needed to have done, as well, and Chris and his team immediately took those projects on, as well. It truly makes me sad to have to update this with a one-star review. If you read through my first review, I posted when the horse fence I had installed had just been done and before my horses began to live in the paddock. This next review is to update that within 30 days the fence failed due to poor workmanship on my install. Chris Ramsey is going to rebut my review saying how poor the product was that he was contracted to install and how much he hates the Centaur components. On the contrary and as the final end user, the product is working exactly as it should, but Mr. Ramsey rushed the job, did not follow instructions, and did not follow construction standards. Additionally, he was informed on 12.3 the fence failed, and as of today, 2/7/2019, he has made no effort to make repairs. Mr. Ramsey simply did not follow the manufacturers instructions when doing the install - so much so that the manufacturer is refusing to issue me a product warranty based on the install by First Class Fence. As a result of decisions he made on my roller brackets, several of the fence components have failed. They were installed backward and upside down. He used the wrong bracing for the termination posts on the tension fence which has caused failures and line post listing. He cut corners on the depth of my posts and now they are listing and bending. Mr. Ramsey was informed at the time of the estimate that this was a clay soil, a flood plain, and I was concerned that there would be issues if the posts were not deep and set correctly. He did not listen to my concerns from the beginning and claimed when we met on 12/21/18 that the entire fence was going to fail and admitted he did it wrong. I can not in good conscience recommend Chris Ramsey or First Class Fence to anyone. Every review about rushing work, not following instructions, not following up with issues, and never coming back to make repairs is absolutely true. If you move forward with this company, you do so at your peril. As of the date of this updated review, I have informed Mr. Ramsey that I have filed a complaint with the CA Contractors License Board due to his poor workmanship and abandonment of repairs. read more

We contacted First Class Fence to schedule an appointment for an estimate, and Chris was able to fit us in that same day. He was very professional and gave us many options and solutions to our problem we were trying to solve, which was a fence that you could not see through. (We have dogs that love to bark at everyone walking by!) He presented us with a very reasonable quote and we decided to move forward with Chris! WORST experience EVER! Hired Chris to build two gates. The premium redwood we paid for turned out to be rough scrap wood. When I brought my concerns up to him he tried telling me it was the best out there. He's a scam artist and does not stand by his work. He would disappear for days. He refuses to answer our calls and our gates do not even function correctly! They look like a DIY gone wrong. Plus he overcharged is! SO disappointed I fell for his load of crap! Hiring Chris Ramsey with First Class Fence was a huge disappointment. To be fair, the actual fence did come out nicely but the retaining wall was a complete disaster. He did not perform the job we agreed upon. It was an afterthought and unacceptable. I can hardly get through to the other side and the metal posts are not ground down so that I'm afraid of ripping my leg open. My neighbors have made numerous attempts to contact Chris on my behalf but he does not return the calls. So, if everything goes well, you're in luck. If not, you're stuck. So.... my experience with Chris from first class fence was a good one. He was the first to call me. He was the first to quote me. And he was the first to come out and actually build the fence. After the fence was done... it did need another board where it met the next fence so as to prevent my dog and the neighbor's dog to be nose to nose ... he came right out that following Monday morning and fixed it without any hassles. Called to get a estimate on repairing my gate, Chris came out when promised, said he would pick up parts on the way. He showed up without the parts or tools needed to do the repair, I showed him other gate worked needed, was told he would be back with the correct parts and do the repair later in the week, I called after a few days to confirm he was still coming and get a complete est. for all work. The biggest mistake I made all year was having First Class Fence in my yard. Chris, the owner, is very charismatic at first, but does not do what he says he'll do. His work is shoddy, done way too quickly to be done right. Boards, support posts and rails are out of level, and leaning. Cheap quality "redwood" was full of knots and splits. I cannot adequately describe how bad this job looked when he finished. I sent him photos of what was wrong, and instead of fixing it promptly, he wanted to engage in silly debates about what a good job he does. He also painted the fence, but didn't do it well, the paint is splotchy and uneven, and he charged a small fortune for the job. It took well over a week to get a receipt or to get the hardware installed. Chris left a mess, and left wood splinters, nails, and junk laying on the ground. He left a HUGE gap under one of the gates, and then acted like he just couldn't imagine why I though that was a problem, never considering that I have a small dog, and the large gap was a real danger. Word to the wise, shop around and don't rely on reviews, they are just not reliable. Save your money til you find someone who will give you a job worth your hard earned money. This job was a terrible waste of almost $4000. read more

This company was quick out to the gate to get a quote to us for repairs to our commercial property. The quote said that they would start work with in a few days. A week went by before the work started. The quote stated that the work would be complete in two weeks. The work took over a month to get done and it wasn't done correctly. When they were contacted regarding issues with their workmanship, they ignored requests to come out to repair.
