If you need a smog check for your car, try coming here to First class Smog in Fullerton, CA. If you also check in while you're here, Yelp will provide $20 discount for your first service (which can be applied for your smog test) and you should be in and out within half an hour. The owner was friendly and nice, offered me a seat to wait until the test was completed, and made me very comfortable as a customer. Harold ROCKS! I came in just after noon on a Saturday, and was helped right away. Small shop with a huge lot (picnic or bbq heaven I'll bet) and fair prices (standard rate for a small SUV). Got me in and out in about 10 minutes, and I passed (not that Harold can influence that, but it sure was good to hear ol' Bessie is hanging in there legally). Very clear explanation of what I was signing and what happens next: he e-filed with DMV when it passed so I'm good to go, but was also given a paper receipt to verify in case issues arise. I have done the smog in this shop for many years starting from $38 as I always have the same person doing the job. Last year, it was $40 for my other car. Somehow this time, I encountered a new person, who I told him that I paid around $40. However, he told me $47 is their price even if I shop online. He said that he already provide some discount. If not, the price is $50 something. When I came back home, I retrieved my last year receipt, which was $40. I also checked online to see if the other smog check stations went up. He taught me a lesson. I will make sure to shop around and do my homework before I take my other car for smog check next year. Never go without price checking. read more

I recently had a great experience with Action Auto and wanted to share…read more My Honda CR-Z driver-side door handle mechanism stopped working (apparently a common issue with these cars). I had already purchased an OEM replacement handle from an authorized Honda parts dealer, and initially planned to have the dealership install it. However, the dealership quoted me a very high labor cost and required me to leave my car overnight due to their busy schedule. After doing some research, I found Action Auto in Cypress and spoke with Mark. From the very first phone call, Mark was friendly, professional, and transparent. Best of all, his quote was about half the price of what the dealership wanted to charge. The convenience was a huge bonus. They told me I could bring my car in anytime between 8am-5pm (and even Sundays 8am-3pm). I dropped off my car at 8:30am, and it was ready by lunchtime the same day. On top of that, they even offered a complimentary shuttle ride home--something the dealership no longer provides. The entire experience was smooth and stress-free. Mark's customer service was outstanding both over the phone and in person. The shop itself was clean and well-organized, and I noticed several repeat customers while I was there, which says a lot about their reputation. Most importantly, my door handle works perfectly now--just like when I first bought the car. I'll definitely be coming back to Action Auto for future repairs. No sales tactics to upsell me on unneeded services, no shady "oh your filters are dirty, you should change them", etc. It looks like they were behind when I got to my appointment, but they made sure to get my car done within the quoted time of an hour - even going as far as to tell their mechanics to "catch up the Lexus - he's been waiting". I pulled in to this place, the guy pulled my car into the testing area and we began to chat as he was getting my car ready. When I finally settled in to do some reading, he was already pulling my car out. I was done; he had run the check while we were talking. Before I could even gather all my stuff, he was handing me the certificate, charging me the amount we agreed on with no nonsense or upselling and sending me on my way. Quickest, most effortless smog I've ever had and right in my neighborhood. Cheapest smog check station ive been to. Sure, I was cynical about the reviews on this place. That's alotta stars for an emissions tester. Well, it deserves every one of them. This place does everything right. It's a quick test, no wait, friendly staff--the guy even made funny faces to entertain my antsy two year old. Went to First Class Smog after seeing all the great reviews this facility had, their service was fast, friendly, and very affordable/efficient. The people working here at this facility truly do have a passion for smogging vehicles. They are very knowledgeable of smogging cars. They are extremely fast. They hold there value of there name First Class Service. I will definitely be returning back for my future smog checks along with referring my people here for smog checks if they ever need one. The service I requested was definitely met and much more. They offer snacks, water as you wait. It was time for the first smog test I had to do in decades and I was dreading the prospect. A quick search on Yelp showed this place as getting stellar reviews and I decided to give it a shot. Even though I figured it would be pretty busy, I called over to the shop and Harold said he could get me in right away. I arrived early and Harold greeted me at my car with an introduction, a handshake, and a smile. We were off to a good start. Came here to get a smog check. The gentleman here is very nice and respectful. Quality work is definitely here at First Class Smog. The work ethic they provide is extremely good. They definitely do take smog checks serious and obey all rules and regulations in compliance with the BAR. I would highly recommend any of my family and friends to this smog check station.
