I needed to get a smog check and First Class Smog was recommended by family. I requested a quote through Yelp and George replied with a flat-rate price that included the Yelp discount within a few hours. No appointment necessary so I rolled up to the STAR Certified/Test-Only smog service the next morning and was greeted by George. I mentioned the quote he gave me and he set me up to get the truck tested next. It wasn't busy on a weekday morning so the wait wasn't bad at all. I passed with flying colors. I paid George and he had the results electronically sent to the DMV on the spot. The private parking lot is small, but there is some side-street parking if there are no spots in the main lot. As the owner of a 2012 model that was like new, the car was in good condition and had its smog checked here every year. However, this year, the price was $70 and they suggested we negotiate. They said it wouldn't go below $60, but then they lowered it to $55, but Yelp and Google ads said it was $40, which was strange, but they said they would do it for $50 and said they couldn't do it anymore. So I got a smog check for $50 and thought I'd look into other places next year for prices. read more

They charge an arm and a leg for your smog check and tell you that your vehicle did not pass and that you can comeback for retest in 14 days and you will only pay $8.00 for certificate. When you go back for retest since you will only pay $8.00 they will refused you saying that their computer is down, over and over again coz they don't want to do anything for $8.00. First time needed a smog check. Called First Class Smog and got no answer. Less then a minute later Harold returned my called. He apologized that he was with a customer and missed my call. Not a big deal at all my man! He was super nice answered all my questions and walked me through everything. I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. DISHONEST/ SCAMMERS Harutune (Harold) didn't even hook up the cable to get my smog check yet he says that it failed because my gas cap from fuel tank is cracked and leaking fuel. I asked him how does he know it failed due to that when I stood there watching him check under my hood without hooking anything up to my car to run the smog check. He never even looked at the gas cap prior to giving me the BS about my car failing the smog check. He tried to sell me the gas cap for $25 which I turned down and asked him to run the smog check. He never did a smog check yet he gave me a certificate that says it failed (see picture). Charged me 41.75 for some bogus service which he never did (see photo). Awful people to scam a customer. Provide the service you are licensed to do. I maybe a woman but I'm definitely not stupid. So I drove down a few blocks away to get my smog checked at another location. I watched them hook up the cable and administered a smog check. It passed (see photo). I am not shocked that the owner, the one who scammed me, has the time to respond to this a few minutes after posting my review. You continue to provide a poor dishonest service to customers so you will never do well in your business. You claim I changed my gas cap, see the photo, it's the original gas cap that's still stuck to its attachment. You also lied about wanting to give me a free re-inspection. Look at your receipt that you gave me. It's in red. You circled the amount that you'll charge me if I do decide to go back to you for the re-inspection. You are an awful person. read more
