I have been doing smog checks for different vehicles here. Today 03/18/24, I arrived at 11:30 AM, and the young man who does the smog check was working on a car off to the side of the smog shop. I greeted him and he ignored me until I walked up to him to really get his attention. I told him I paid $50 + cert the last time (Nov,23) I was there, and he said this time it will be $68. He was rude when I told him I had paid less last time and told me he "wasn't there to negotiate prices". As he is getting into the vehicle he tells me he doesn't even know if it will pass smog because its shaking. I lost confidence in him, and I told him I would get the smog done elsewhere, so I left. Test was $55 but not sure if that's a standard price but just for a ballpark to everyone. Guy helping me out is also a vet so that is appreciated. I brought two cars here, about a week apart. The first visit went OK. Service was quick and friendly. When I brought my second car in, it was completely different. Harold was very brisk and condescending. He was perfectly pleasant and even chatty with the man in front of me. My daughter and I, however, were treated like we were inferior. I got my certificate and promised to never go back. This is sad, because I loved the former guy, George. I had been coming to see him for the past six years since I moved to California.
