First Class Smog charges a "Groupon Processing Fee" which doubles the standard certificate fee. $16 in fees over and above what you pay for the Groupon. Wants Groupon business, but doesn't want to pay for the marketing and volume Groupon provides. Hopes you won't notice and lies about it when asked. Completely dishonest and unfair to Groupon customers. You'd pay less if you just walked up. Groupon says they are investigating and thankfully refunded my money. Took my business elsewhere and suggest you do to. **UPDATE** Owner says no record of service, because I refused to pay the fee and left. Notice he doesn't dispute the facts of my review. We actually have used his service before he charged the Groupon fee and had no complaints. If he stops charging Groupon customers a fee, I will remove my review. read more

Needed smog check to register our car. Checked Yelp for ideas. Chose First Class Smog. The actual location may seem a little sketchy, but don't let looks fool you! From the get go, Harold was efficient, professional and very polite and courteous. (Something you don't find so often nowadays among young people!) BEST smog station I've ever been to. I 10000% HATE bringing my cars for a smog check. I finally got fed up with the place I had been going to for years and saw the great reviews of this place. I was a little skeptical but I brought in my two cars anyways. Needless to say, the 5 star reviews are legit. George was polite, honest, professional and quick. I came around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and he had just finished up w/someone. He was able to check both of my cars in 30 minutes. He even gave me a discount since this was my first visit here. Unfortunately, one car did not pass so he told me what I needed to do and asked me to bring it back. I came back on a Monday around 4:30 p.m., no wait at all. So I have been a customer for many years until a situation happened during my last visit. During my visit he did not provide me with any estimate but I did give him the 26 dollar coupon. When the car failed due to a minor technical issue fix by reset from another smog person at a later date, what happened is that he charge me the regular price plus smog certificate cost and provided me with no documents on the failure of the test or paid invoice. I understand he only checks but if i am paying you I expected a paid invoice and am at failure documentation. By the way to avoid this issue you can buy obd2 reader with IM button which will tell you if the car will pass. Must are 20 bucks on eBay or Amazon like autel or foxicon brands. In fact theses smog test stations can so a ten second test without doing the full smog test to make sure the car us ready. The other guy I took it to did exactly that before he did a smog test. So I like to see a response of why you provide no paperwork and charge higher for a failed versus pass test. I did request for paperwork and was denied. I am not blaming you for the failure but when I had a failed test I got a full description so I could have it checked at a repair station that can handle reset computer and retest issues. Bummer. Plenty of other smog places that will do that for you so you do not waste your time on a full smog test. read more
