Victor led installation and had the help of one other person. They finished everything in a day, and were very considerate (e.g., putting plastic down to not stain the carpet, vacuuming up dust, cleaning the windows). When we told him we were not certain about the style of doors for some of the items he urged us to sign the contract to take advantage of the discount and assured us we would be able to update via a change order. Nothing would be ordered until the choices were made and the change order was executed. We have done many remodeling projects over the years and change orders are standard so we had no reason to doubt his assurances. Since then he has overpromised and failed to deliver. Every time we texted or emailed to ask about the change order status he reiterated that it was with the office, everyone was aware, nothing would be ordered and the change order would be sent - tonight, tomorrow, next day...you get the picture. After weeks of waiting for the change order so we could move on the project, we tried to escalate a number of times because based on the reviews we expected better customer service. However, we were told we needed to resolve all the miscommunications and failed follow through with the salesman that had failed to follow through. Imagine our surprise when we got a text that some of the doors were ready for installation. The salesman was shocked as he had told us nothing would be ordered until the change order was signed. In an effort to salvage the project and because we wanted to believe the salesman, we allowed for partial installation. The installation was riddled with additional issues. Wrong hardware, wrong trim, no wood molding around the door. The salesman was apologetic and did not understand why there was a disconnect. After another few weeks of messages, emails and requests to escalate, we finally got confirmation that the salesperson and the director of revenue would come to our home at 2pm on 6/22. They arrived late 30 minutes late (even though my husband had made it clear he was meeting them during his lunch hour) and the director of revenue was defensive and put all blame on the misrepresentations made by their salesman on us. During the meeting the salesman told him that the remaining doors had not been ordered. After that meeting the company STILL had the salesman follow up to ask how we wanted to proceed. He was embarrassed at that point because he was telling us the company would be able to address our concerns and they hung him out to dry. Even though it wasn't our fault, in an effort to put this nightmare behind us and NEVER deal with them again, after a few exchanges with the director of revenue, we agreed to a resolution provided they completed the project by today. No response for over a week until this afternoon when they basically said 'thanks for agreeing to letting us do what we haven't done but keep bending over backwards so we can do it in our terms'. @owner of the company you should step in sooner and not wait for the online reviews to try justifying the experience. For all those that posted 1 star reviews in the last year we should talk about options. Based on your experiences I can tell is not the individual players. It's the company.

The process to get a quote and order our windows was quick. What was I would even label as unsatisfactory was the communication after giving the first deposit. I was often the one reaching out to the company to confirm my payment was received and to follow up on an appointment for a tech to do final measurements. Also on the day of installation, our technician never showed up and once again I was the one reaching out to the company to ask where he was to which they didn't know either. Turned out he was not coming due to personal issues but never informed the company. That was very disappointing not to mention unprofessional. I was quickly rescheduled but not until another week. The new technician did a great job installing the windows. He was on time, quick and cleaned up the mess of the old windows. Overall I would recommend DJ Windows and most likely will go with them again for our downstairs windows. I had been considering Wintorium Windows, who were honest about their timelines, and I regret not going with them. I also placed a larger order for my Torrance property: * another garden window * a 6‑ft sliding door * six stationary windows * one bathroom window A measurement tech came out, and I was scheduled for installation on 12/19. No one called to confirm the appointment or provide a time window. Two installers (Ricardo and another worker) showed up at noon and left at 4 PM, and not even close to all the work was completed. The issues were extensive: * The garden window was left sitting in my garage. * Several windows were installed without caulking. * The 6‑ft slider was manufactured too short, and the installers tried to cover the mistake with double moulding instead of acknowledging the incorrect size. * My husband, who works in construction, had to intervene because the installer insisted he could "fix" the size issue with foam--completely unacceptable for a major structural opening. * One installer was visibly ill and repeatedly blowing his nose extremely loudly throughout the job. * The bathroom window was also the wrong size, leaving several inches of moulding around it and reducing the actual glass area. It also was not the upslide window I ordered. I spoke with David (who said he was the owner), Ishmael, and Ricardo, and all three promised they would return on 12/22 to review the problems and complete installation and remeasure. At this point, after paying over $3,000, I am seriously considering requesting a full refund and hiring Wintorium instead. Based on what I've seen, I do not believe this crew is capable of installing these products correctly. I've used Bear Windows and Wintorium Windows on multiple properties and have never experienced anything like this. This has been a complete disaster from start to finish, and I cannot recommend DJ Windows and Doors.

Luckily, last week my neighbor was getting their windows replaced, and a guy named Julian from that company kindly stopped by to ask if I also needed anything done -- which was perfect timing for me. In just a few days, they finished measuring, quote, and placed the custom order. Since they have their own factory, everything moved really fast. Today, the installer, Franky, finished the installation in less than an hour. The new frame is wider and much sturdier than the old one, and this double-pane glass is at least an inch thicker than what I had before. It's also energy-efficient. Now I'm even considering replacing all the bedroom windows like my neighbor did, so the next time we get strong Santa Ana winds, I'll be able to sleep much more peacefully.

Unfortunately, our window cleaner accidentally scratched the entry door, right in my line of sight. I drove to Window HQ with photos, explaining what had happened. Jocelyn contacted the manufacturer and helped coordinate the replacement door. It wasn't a major deal but it was to us, and she checked back with us until the manufacturer completed the repair re-install. In addition, Murph made sure that the pricing was fair and he wanted to make sure it was done right. That's great customer service! Window HQ is a great company and I highly recommend their service and work...it's top notch!
