They have connections to all the trades and can get a plumber, handyman etc over to my property often the same day, which is critical to keeping up the level of service I want for my guests. (Producing a repair person on the same day is no mean feat in the islands.) They are personable and professional, a pleasure to work with, and charge far less than a traditional property management company. I recommend them highly to any vacation rental owner.

The bedroom had a slit of windows up near the ceiling facing the common hallway so as you are in the bedroom you hear everyone walking by. And the list goes on. We stayed 30 minutes and then booked our vacation at a beautiful hotel in Wailea getting the last room available. Complained to CB Vacation Rentals and was blown off multiple times. Jeremiah, Manager, was a joke! So we have now filed formal complaints with multiple jurisdictions and have demanded a full refund from VRBO and CB Rentals. Consumer misrepresentation is a crime and we will not sit back and be victimized by either party. If you see CB Vacation Rentals as a host - RUN away as fast as your feet will carry you. We are seasoned global travelers and have never experienced anything remotely like this. And we travel 1/2 the year to remote places where even in remote Patagonia, India, Mongolia, the Mekong...have never experienced such lies.

I did see the other 1-star reviews, however, they are older dates. Maybe management has changed. I was very pleased. We are reserving vacation condo with CB Island vacations again next year.

Some of the angles were a little awkward, and I felt several photos needed additional retouching. I reached out to them, and they were very responsive. They happily retouched the photos I requested and even upgraded my photo package, which I really appreciated. Their willingness to make things right showed that they genuinely care about customer satisfaction. While I'd rate the photos themselves around 4 stars, I'd give their customer service 4.5 to 5 stars. They try to charge you three times the security deposit to see how much they can get out of you financially, which is ILLEGAL, and believe me they know it too. When I refused to pay it, they gladly accepted one month deposit. Once you rent from them, you will experience intrusive behavior with them needing to inspect your rental every month or so including Christmas Day. When you move out, you will not see your deposit again. They are notorious for withholding money. Toward the end of my lease they suddenly wanted to increase my rent by $500 which is illegal also. When I refused to pay it, they raised it by $250 instead. The rental I had was roach infested when I moved in, the three dressers had broken handles and missing drawers, the couch was broken, the cutlery wasn't clean, the faucet in the guest bathroom room didn't work and they refused to fix it until it almost overflowed one time when a friend of mine got it to finally work and couldn't turn it off. The staff of Pali Kai also spy on you each time you come and go from your unit with the on-site security camera. They don't like you having guests or friends over to visit and they email you to tell you how often your friend visited you. They would not let me begin my rent on the first of the month and told me I had to start my rental agreement immediately and pay a pro-rated amount in which there were 8 days remaining before the first of the next month. These people are desperate and use every manipulative tactic out there. True con-artists at best. Beware of Bob Jilek and Josh Guthrie in particular. They are the rudest people I have ever dealt with as far as landlords. Renting from them can turn you off living on Maui for good.

The day after booking and paying for this property we get an email from Patricia requesting another almost $500 or she will cancel our booking! We contact VRBO who tells us not to pay because she has a legally binding contract with us for the price that we paid since we had already paid. They say they are contacting her and everything will be worked out. Well four days later Patricia cancels our rental now we are searching for another rental with even slimmer pickings in Maui for Christmas. After reading other reviews I'm so glad we aren't staying in anything under her management. She is running a scam trying to get more money after entering a contact with paid customers.
