I had Osseous surgery with bone graft. Dr Jennifer Wong was the Dentist. She was exceptional. This procedure is one that can be scary and uncomfortable but with Dr. Wong it was painless, easily tolerated and performed at the highest level. She even called me the following morning to see if I was feeling alright. I was. I had no pain or bleeding problem. I've had various dental procedures over the years and this was the easiest one of all. I am very thankful...and relieved...that my surgery was handled by Dr. Wong at Renton Modern Dentistry. read more

The worst. I scheduled a new patient appointment. I was told it would be about an hour. I got there on time - but still waited 30 minutes. When they called me back, I had the X-rays and the check in. It took maybe 50 minutes. The dentist would come and go and what not. He the said he was sending a hygienist in to start the cleaning. I wanted 40 minutes for them to show up, check in on me, give me an update- something. No one did. I had to go to work because at this point, I had been there for 2 hours and haven't gotten the cleaning. I flagged someone down and told her I had to leave. She said I had to checkout. I stood for about 5 minutes (with no one helping me) so I left. I felt bad at first and called them, no answer - left voicemail. No return call. So oh well, I guess they don't care. I tried to make another appointment online- but it said I wasn't allowed. Maybe they banned me? I don't know- but moral of the story- go somewhere else. read more

Terrrrrrrible dentists here. A complete revolving door of dentists and staff because the head dentist is sooooo cheap and terrible to work for. But then on the flip side they will WAY overcharge you for things you really don't need. I got a tooth pulled here and they charged $1700 for a "bone graft filling" and little pad that instantly fell out later that day. My friend who works at another dental office told me that is a complete SCAM. Do not go to this office. They only care about money. The head dentist lady gives dentists and business owners a bad name. This place is also filthy can tell they do not outsource cleaning and barely do it themselves. The dentists are good but the customer service is non existent. I came in for ab early morning appt to get to work on time and there were two others there. No one was at the front desk. One of the other patients tried calling the clinic on his phone to get a hold of some help. We could hear people laughing in the back room. 15 minutes later the receptionist came out with no apology. I didn't actually get seen by the hygenist until 40 min till my appointment time. This was the final straw that made me switch. First appointment- I met with a dr who had to have just graduated, he was trembling, stabbing my gums so uncomfortably and as overly talkative as you could be. He was not who I booked with and the staff made me feel like I was the one to have messed up? I've never been to this place before but I had written down in my notes who I was supposed to meet with. Their reason for the switch was that they move the Dr's around when one takes a day off. Okay, but tell me? What if that doc isn't in my insurance? Just odd. I can't leave without updating my last review. It's been a nice run but now it's time to go. The receptionists are amazing. Seriously they are personable, nice, and make things happen. But everything else is so inconsistent that I struggle. The last straw was when I needed to see the periodontist, Dr. Lee. Now, Dr. Lee is amazing. He was upfront with me, and the procedure that needed to happen occurred very easily. The issue came after. I was supposed to see Dr. Lee a month after my surgery but I had to go on business travel so Dr. Lee wouldn't be able to see me until two months after. That's because he is only at this location for this type of appointment once a month. Miss him once, wait a month. Everyone assured me it would be fine. Thing is I started experiencing challenges and so I went back twice and saw two different dentists who gave two different diagnosis and at times conflicting information. The second time I went I had to point out the surgery site and I received vague explanations as to what was happening and why my mouth was healing oddly. While the receptionists were cognizant of how many times I had been there and when the dentists were not. They appeared not to have reviewed my chart as the second and third times they both assumed I had my surgery two weeks earlier versus the four and eight weeks respectively. I had to point that out the second time since I needed sutures removed. The dentist was unaware. I was also asked if I wanted pictures of my surgery site. When I asked why would I? I was told the periodontist sometimes wants them. Well, ok, but why ask me? Shouldn't that be a known? Then when I had issues I tried reaching out and got a response that didn't answer my question. It was like asking "If I step on my brake I hear a horrible noise. Why is that?" And then being told to get headphones. It was like no, I want to understand the screeching noise not move on from it. My dentist moved away from the area and her practice stopped taking my insurance so I was looking for a new provider when I came across Renton Modern Dentistry. I completed all my paperwork prior to my appointment and showed up 10min early for my appointment. After checking in, however, I proceeded to wait for 30min past my appointment time and only told any status ("I had to clean the X-ray machines") when I went up to cancel my appointment since I was now halfway through their appointment block but hadn't actually seen any hygienists or dentists yet. I left without treatment and won't be going back again. read more

I just had my first appointment and didn't even have anything done other than X-rays and the doctor poking around a bit. I waited over an hour for them to call my insurance to check how much coverage I had. After close to an hour and a half waiting, I had enough and told them I needed to get back to a meeting which I did need to get to. The woman at the front desk condescendingly said, "Well our new patient appointments are scheduled for 90 minutes." I completely understand that, but it was 10 minutes left of that 90 minutes when she said that. If we were to actually have a 90 minute appointment, we should've started much earlier than 10 minutes before. I left without scheduling because I honestly don't think I'll go back. Maybe I'll just take the x-rays they took over to another office because this isn't good customer service. If this is a sign of the kind of care I can expect, then it's a no for me. They don't stand by their work, it's as simple as that. for over half a year I've been trying to get a refund for shoddy work done on a major filling. Every single time I try to sort this out with them, I'm met with excuses. The financial person is on vacation. The dentist who did the work is on vacation and needs to approve it. Oh yeah we submitted the refund and retraction on your insurance (only for me to find out the retraction was canceled) They even took their own x-rays and agreed that the fix was done poorly, and let me tell you about how all of that went when they were doing it. They numbed me up, and drilled the tooth, pretty standard, right? Then they set up their printer to print a filling that was supposed to match the hole in my tooth. Then the printer broke down, then they just walked away for two hours. By the time they actually got around to putting the filling chunk in there, the numbing was actually wearing off. Later on, the x-ray showed that when they put the filling in, they put way too much glue in, so that glue had squished out and pushed into the other tooth next to it, and started to trap food in between them and cause even more decay. I got all of this fixed over at Go Family Dentistry and I would urge you to start there because they've done a fantastic job, and they stand by their work. Their financial office has been extremely patient with me as well, and I'm about to settle the bill myself because Renton modern dentistry can't get their paperwork sorted out, and keeps giving me excuses on why they can't do a refund for the work they proved themselves with their own x-rays was done wrong. I hope my story can save you the headache of having to deal with them for over half a year to try to get them to do the right thing. They're definitely in no big hurry to take care of their patients. I can't wait for them to respond to this review, asking me to call them so we can figure something out. Been there, done that, I've spoken to the office so many times I feel like we've known each other forever. There's nothing to talk about, refund me and retract the claim on my insurance. I have been with this business for five years that was fine until 2023 everything going south. Below are my recent experiences. 1. Teeth cleaning is sloppy that my SonicCare electric toothbrush can do a better job. 2. I had an implant tooth installed. It took them four times to scan my teeth and three months with several failed attempts due to incorrect crown. The crown design is a defect that leaves a gap between the crown and implant screw allowing bacterial buildup that produces bad breath. 3. The billing at the front office is the worst. It bills you any amount they want that does not follow your insurance EOB guideline or contract. I questioned the 20% difference between their bill and my insurance EOB. I am told I can pay whatever and the remainder will to the collection agency. The front office staff/manage will not attempt to explain or justify the differences. read more

Awful experience everytime I've come. I just wanted Invisalign. Took a scan and was told to wait two week for a call to schedule consult. Call never came. I had called them multiple times no one knew how to handle the situation or I would never get a call back. The finally sent the scans in and wanted me to wait another few weeks before even booking consult. Called the day of my appointment to make sure everything was good. Said they'd call me back and didn't, called them again said they it was all good. Left work early and get to the appointment for them to tell I need to drop 1500 before even speaking to the provider. Update: Don't go here unless you like being lied to. I'd stay away at all costs. If i could give zero stars I would. I'm fuming. I got temporary crowns done in time for my wedding which was great. Worked out. Finally did something right. Dr. Hayes told me that after the honeymoon if I liked them I can get them permanently cemented or could do my crowns since they'll be in by then. I get back and make my appointment. All good to go. Then I get a reminder call about a week before saying that I need to bring my flipper(which I gave to the dentist) because Dr. Hayes said they need a new impression and scan for crowns because the ones they got from the lab weren't as good as they should be. At this point I just want to be done with this horrible dental office for good. So I say I'm just going get the temporaries permanently cemented. I go to my appointment this week. Guess what? They never received any crowns. My crowns were never worked on. At all. The lab told the office they couldn't do them. This was the reason she did the temporaries in time for the wedding. So not only was I lied to for the past almost 3 months about my crowns being worked on (with plenty of opportunities to tell me), but I was also lied to about the reasoning why I needed new impressions and abutments just a week ago! They were informed of this back in Jan/Early February. I'm just now finding out about it in APRIL?! Then also at this appointment she tells me my abutments might show through temporary crowns because the cement isn't as white. Why was I not told this when she SUGGESTED this option back in early February. Why was this not told to me when I JUST spoke to her a week ago?! I asked well if that does happen is that something that can be fixed afterwards and she said that it wouldn't be a problem and it might be fine. I now have two gray crowns because the abutments do show through. I am livid. I'm going to another dental office to fix it because I don't trust this office whatsoever and I suggest you don't either. This is a very shady place. I had multiple different doctors over the years. Dr. Hayes is the owner and she is extremely greedy. They did a unnecessarily procedure on me and tried to pay me off to settle with me, now I have to get this reverse which will cost me more money out of my pocket. Believe the reviews do not come here unless you want to be taken advantage of. Dr Lee is rude and an idiot who barely knows how to do his job and even communicate. Till this day they have intentionally tried to ignore my emails. They hired this bimbo receptionist who has no idea what to do. RMD has been our family's dentistry for a few years now and we have been very satisfied. They use the best technology out there and probably the most competent full-service dentistry in the area. They even have oral surgeons, and other specialists come in. As always, Dr. Hayes, her DA Rabia, and all other staff members we interacted with were great. Thank you for always being wonderful! After comparing all options in the market I have also started my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Hayes. She has been very patient with discussing and explaining options, pros, and cons, putting in replacement buttons as needed, etc. I have had crowns and root canals in the past which makes my case complicated and I would not trust any other provider with my oral health. read more

Update a couple of years later - better late than never, right? Well Brittany did smooth things over enough for me to come back in and see another dentist whom I'm sure is wonderful - wouldn't know. Saw her long enough for her to tell me I needed my wisdom teeth extracted. They also reimbursed me $200 of the out-of-pocket cost for my crown/root canal experience. I come back a few weeks later for my extraction - I am VERY clear up front to please not prescribe me any narcotics/opioids, I won't take them. I say this upfront because I'm going under general anesthesia for the procedure, and know I won't be capable of advocating for myself in that state. I also had a lingual frenectomy done at the same time. They don't have dentists on site who can do these procedures, instead specialists who come in once or twice a month and book back to back specialized procedures, and as you can imagine, it's treated as such. There is no explanation, no time to calm fears, nothing. Within minutes of hitting the chair, I'm out and "awake" before I know it. I remember having to pick myself up off the floor after falling out of the chair and putting myself in the wheelchair they brought me, apparently the assistant couldn't be bothered to ensure I made it to the chair safely. They wheeled me to the waiting room, full of other people, while I sat there, slowly attempting to come out of anesthesia and my ride collects the follow up paper work, and prescriptions. They wheel me out to the car, my ride helps me get in. At Walgreens they pick up the prescriptions. Get home and proceed to open them to find that I've been given Tramadol! It wasn't the job of my ride to ensure what I would/wouldn't take/pick up. I told the dentist and coordinator up front not to do it, did it anyways, and I got to pay for pills I flushed! Ended up taking ibuprofen instead which was fun considering I had not only the extraction to deal with, but stitches under my tongue as well. I was also given medicated mouthwash. I ended up needing a second bottle because one of the stitch ends decided to head into my gums and cause an infection. I had to go back in as well and have that dealt with in order to get said second bottle. All told, 3 weeks of recovery time from an infection caused by the stitches being cut too short/too close to the gums, and my lingual frenectomy looked like it was done with a butter knife, hacked to bits, there were little pieces of skin hanging off and floating around, that over time fell off. They wanted me to come up and start my long term care - after this, I was well and truly done. Now a few years later, I've finally found the courage to go find a new dentist, which hopefully won't cause a nightmare that makes me avoid having my teeth handled again. Just avoid this place, at all cost. Between being treated like a number, nickled and dimed into the ground, lied to, and ignored - it just makes you want to never see or trust a dentist again. read more

By far the most painful and horrific dental experience ever. I was trapped in the chair for six hours with my jaw forcibly held open. Most of this time there wasn't even anyone in the room, as they were waiting to get my crown molded in office. They advertised it would take two hours but it was three times as long. The procedure was painful and almost entirely done by the dental tech. At other places the dentist puts the crown on, but here the techs do that (and almost everything else). When I complained that things hurt, the dental tech just kept repeating the name of the procedure and became more forceful. They overcharge for crowns and I confirmed this when they told me they were able to do this because they use a "no label" crown. (Granted this was after I was overcharged for two crowns). They also froze the machine while making my crown and kept a bite block in my mouth for HOURS while they had to restart the machine and redo the molding of the crown. My jaw ached and when I complained they did nothing. You can get the same crown and much better service at Southcenter Modern Dentistry. I highly recommend driving 15 mins further south. Your mouth and your wallet will thank you. read more

No one ever called me to cancel my appointment to reschedule. And no one ever called me back from my voicemail I left. I took off work for this appointment. The first thing they ask is why am I there today? I go through my entire dental history, recent tooth pain. I tell them that I have a terrible tooth ache. They are able to take my X-rays, do a mouth inspection. Then the dentist gives me his recommendation of root canal with crown. I chose the tooth extraction because it was the cheapest (you pay upfront before getting dental care, that was the policy I was told). They tell me that they'll need to reschedule me to another day. I thought maybe they would be me a pain prescription while I wait for my next appointment. The only thing that I heard regarding after-visit dental care was to floss and brush my teeth. I could have read that at home on a simple google search. It just felt like they didn't listen when I told them I was there because of a tooth ache. Amazing clinic! I had a painful wisdom tooth situation and was looking for an urgent appointment to get it checked out. They were able to get me in for a complimentary dental exam just an hour after I had called! Luckly their oral surgeon had a spot open in his schedule too, and I was able to get my wisdom tooth extracted within minutes after the dental exam finished that same day! The staff were amazing- very friendly and professional! I didn't have health/dental insurance, so I was looking for an affordable option to pay for care out of pocket. They explained everything going on and found me some lower cost options that I can afford to pay out of pocket until my dental insurance kicks in next month and I can come back for more work. This clinic is in a really nice area inside a shopping center, lots of restaurants around and by the Seahawks training camp site. Tons of parking and easy to get to. Waiting room was really nice with complimentary beverages in the waiting room and iPads to fill out your health record history. read more

despite my lack of annual dentist visits - i, for some reason, don't really mind the dentist. you kind of always expect to hear bad news so it's pretty great when it's a "no cavity" news - even though it's been over 10 years since i've visited a dentist. RMD - was a very fast and efficient visit (both times). I ended up having to do a deep cleaning over a two day period and they were quick, straight forward and honest. And I appreciate that - I go because i have to... because i should go. And after this experience, I will continue to go because of the service, friendliness of the staff and dentist. I came here happy to try a new Dentist as I had just moved to the area. The dentist here are so rude and disrespectful to the assistants. I have never seen such disrespect between a doctor and an assistant. The assistant was so scared she was shaking picking up the equipment. The way the male Dentist spoke to her, I told myself I would never ever be back here again. I don't care who you are, you need to treat your employees first, which are your number one customers. One star only because I have no option to go lower. I originally went for a consultation with Dr. Bill about getting an implant. He talked a good game, so despite my phobia of going to dentists, he made me feel at ease and I decided to go forward. This was in 2016, Teeth extracted and I was sent home with a temporary (I was told) upper plate. Woke up the next morning, face swollen so much the skin around my nostrils and top lip had split. Went to the emergency room. Contacted Dr. Bill and was told this was normal and to come in when the swelling went down some. Then came the post insertions. One was inserted horizontally because of sheer incompetence or drunkeness. She was subsequently let go. Because the post was so close to penetrating my sinus, they decided to not remove it. With each issue they managed to convince me that they could work with me to solve the problem and in a few cases they did. This was only the beginning, there were only three posts that were actually strong enough or placed correctly to hold in the upper full implant, the implant was never stable and constantly rub my gums raw. I can now only use it with adhesive which defeats the purpose of an implant. $16,000 down the tube! I've called several times trying to get an appointment in an emergency, the latest call was today July 12th and each time I've called they only offer appointment for days other than the day I call. I've been collecting evidence since this all started and since 3 reputable dentist that I saw won't touch me because of all the shoddy work done, my only recourse is to seek legal advice. The sheer incompetence and "don't give a damn" attitude by most of the people in the office that I have had contact with is unbelievable. Along with the staff turn over. read more

I went there for just a annual cleaning. Simple as that. However, they did a lot of x-Rays. They said they do that for all new patients. Then, after seeing my x-Rays, dr. Jinita Perekn people pointed some "problems" with my teeth that surprised me. She said that I need 2 crowns and said that one of my teeth was cracked but she did not prove me that. My husband came to the room so that've could understand about the amount of money they wanted me to spend with the crowns and dr. Jinita was very disrespectful when my husband left. She asked if my husband is always strict or he's joking. We left the office feeling completely frustrated because we went there for a simple cleaning and we ended up with the need of spending crazy money for something that I've been dealing with for years because other doctors never pointed them out.
