The waffles with fried chicken seemed to be their specialty since just about every table has at least one order of them so I decided to try them. is all I can say. Mini waffles with 3 fried chicken wings fried to perfection . The drinks were good but the coffee you should skip. Service was good, she checked on us frequently. I have not given any place 5 starts in a very long home but trust me this place deserves it. On a quick girls weekend to visit my friend we decided to hit up this spot. She lives in Florence now and has been heading about them for months, so we showed up hungry on this good Sunday morning. We were immediately seated and out served Jason came over and greeted us with a smile and compliments. The restaurant is black owned which is wonderful to me. The aesthetic is so pretty. There's roses(faux) all over the ceiling and photos all around incorporating the first of the month them(I wish I got some pics of that) but folks were enjoying the goodness. Anywho we ordered the friend wings and mini waffles and a side of the potatoes...oh and let's not forget the pitcher of Passion Fruit Mimosa which gave us each three glasses. Whew!! Anywho I couldn't finish all of my waffles so I got them to go and plan on indulging in the am!! While eating we overheard a customer(new like us) stating to his family that "Cracker Barrel ain't got "ish on this place". lol. And I am not a fan of CB but I agree! I hope this place stay around for the long haul. And as we were wrapping up for breakfast they were starting to serve their lunch money. Definitely going back for that and there's a fill bar. When you walk in you are greeted by staff and a wall full of roses! The decor is a chill feeling with music that's a little below talking levels. The food didn't take too long to come out but everything was lukewarm. It wasn't terribly cold but we did expect it to be hot. Another table had a similar complaint. The French toast was really good however and I'm not sure of the cream sauce but it was really good ! Lamb chops had a tangy sauce which made it really sweet tasty. The eggs are definitely not a fan favorite. The strawberry lemonade was not great so it was subbed for another drink but very limited options. The mimosa was strong and good ( should do better mixing the syrup though). Overall it's a new spot in the area that has garner a lot of attention! Would return to try other options. read more

I found this place. Wow, searching for a breakfast spot, heading back from a family trip. I have to admit it was much better than I expected. Being that it had seemed new, uh. But, uh, the overall experience was amazing. The food was delicious. Um, the robot blew my mind delivering the breakfast. The waiter was a delight pleasant and happy, young man. And this is definitely a place that I could serve as a romantic spot for breakfast. Dinner, it's just amazing. We're definitely going again. read more

Amazing place! Chicken and Waffles were the star of the show. The chicken is very tender and fall of the bone with an amazing peach lemon pepper glaze. Also ordered the taco trio. Fun dish with pancake, scrambled eggs and bacon. I dipped the taco into syrup. Love the roses on the ceiling. Definitely worth eating at. read more

First I want to mention our lovely server Shalone. True southern hospitality, incredibly kind and always had this beautiful smile on her face. NOW.....THE FOOD! OH. MY. GOODNESS!!!! I got the fish and grits and it was on point! The homemade creole sauce was delish! My husband got the Lamb Spam and it looked phenomenal, so I had to give it a try because I'm not partial to lamb. THE BEST lamb chops I've ever had! The chef 'put his feet' in it! He took the time to explain to us how they prepare the meat. THEN the dessert......they had bread pudding available! Made with fresh bread and NOT stale bread as traditionally made. We will make the hour long trip to dine here again! The restaurant is also beautiful! The chairs are very comfortable. We visited First of the Month Eatery on Palmetto Street in Florence, SC this evening with a group that was expected to be between 8 and 10 people. Since plans were still being finalized, we provided an estimate at the door. Unfortunately, the interaction with the doorman/security staff member was very unpleasant. He was rude and went as far as accusing us of being dishonest about our party size, which was unprofessional and immediately set a negative tone for the evening. There is a respectful way to communicate policies, and calling guests liars is unacceptable. Once inside, I did speak with the host, who explained that they were following management's directions. I appreciated her approach, as she came to our table, spoke respectfully, and clearly explained the situation, which I completely understood. That type of communication made a difference. However, when additional members of our party arrived, the handling of seating was frustrating. When one person arrived later, making our total seven, she was not allowed to sit with us and was instead directed to sit at the bar. When the eighth person arrived, there was clear hesitation about seating him with our table as well. This created unnecessary awkwardness and discomfort for our group. I want to give special recognition to our waitress, Shalom (a young woman with glasses and locs), who was kind, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. She ultimately made sure that everyone in our party was seated together, and her effort was greatly appreciated. Service overall was slow, and my food arrived cold, which was disappointing. The drinks, including the alcohol tower, were good. While the night itself was not ruined, the attitude of the door staff and the seating issues took away from what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. I hope management addresses these concerns, as first impressions and respectful customer service matter greatly. read more

First time experience with my family at this wonderful establishment. Really like the name and theme of this place. Our hostess/server Mariah greeted us immediately and made us feel very welcomed. She explained how things operated and allowed us enough time to make our decisions and then order. We didn't have a long wait time for our food which was great. The food was served hot and fresh, no complaints whatsoever. The management came over to our table to say hello and made sure we were doing well. The menu had a great variety of items to choose from to include regular and adult beverages. I had the special of the day which was "Spots" and grits, they were great. Everyone else enjoyed what they selected and we all left satisfied with smiles. I highly recommend this establishment. The staff, decor and atmosphere are very welcoming with the feeling of appreciation. Give First of the Month a try, you will be glad you did. read more

Went to have lunch on Saturday Nov 22 around 11:30. First time there. The front staff were friendly as we were seated at the first booth on the right . The decor was nice but the restaurant wasn't full maybe four or five tables were occupied until people start coming in. We ordered our drinks and they came pretty quick. We ordered our food maybe 5 minutes after we received drinks. So we looked around and people were getting served their food that came in after we arrived. I told my husband ok maybe they had a special order or something cool then it happened again and again people were getting served their order and we were still sitting there after 20 minutes passed no food. Finally the waitress came around and said your order didn't show up on the screen so I have to reorder it then she asked us to repeat our orders. I asked if she could bring me a mimosa while we continue to wait. Now I could see the bartender make the drink and it was just sitting on the counter.So we wait 10 more minutes and here comes the robot with food on it with no top cover. I'm thinking finally but it passed by us and stopped to the table next to us for the people who came it at least 15 minutes after we did. I looked at the kitchen and saw the cook sneezing with no gloves or hairnet and a male server eating and licking his fingers and serving food. Still no drink its sitting on the bar. I had enough and I told my husband it's time to go. I left and my husband explained to the hostess our concerns and the waitress had a nerve to ask if you want your drink now (really). It was about 12:30 by then. If you want your food rolling around on a robot cart uncovered through the restaurant this is the place for you with no gloves or hairnet this is the place for you. Dining alone you have to sit at the bar, where there is not room to even eat your food. Staff was eating right in my face, she opened her mouth and I saw her tonsils, literally!! She even said she wasn't suppose to be doing that, but she was hungry..... I ordered chicken and waffles, presentation was nice for the food, however what ever sauce placed on my waffles made them very sweet and just nasty, powered sugar covered my plate, both is a no go for me. If you're going..... take someone with you so you can be seated at a table, not right up under someone with no room to even enjoy yourself. Nope I did not eat all my food.
