He is 5 years old. This morning a very nice driver named Cynthia came to pick up my son. I have a few concerns . But I'll start with the positive . The drivers are always on time. I've been told all the drivers are live scanned & finger printed. The vans and carseats are clean . The drivers seem friendly and professional . However this is only our second day on the route. My first concern was that the 2 out of the 3 car seats installed were extremely loose. I did not test the third because a child was in it and I didn't want to scare him . I tested my child's car seat and it was flopping around all over the place . Not secure at all. I tested the one in front of my sons car seat hoping it was tighter so that I could let my son drive in the van . It was even looser. I decided to not allow my son to drive in the van until this issue was resolved . The driver Cynthia seemed to understand and gave me a very respectful response stating she completely understood because it was my child. I then decided to video tape what I saw so I could let the owner Frank Acosta know. Here is the video see attached. My son was not at all happy about my decision so it basically ruined our morning . Children with autism need routine and structure we had practiced the day prior and he was really looking forward to this mornings trip. My second concern was how low the child safety harness was placed on the child who was already in the van . (We had hired Tamara Garcia from CarSeatSavvyLA.com 5 years ago to give us a training on proper car seat installation and she taught us that the harness should be directly over the collarbone area. ) The child's safety harness was placed way too low just above his stomach. I adjusted it for him . I respect what Frank is doing because he seems to understand the great need for parents of children with special needs to have reliable responsible drivers for our children . I also understand that Frank dedicated this business to his son Jorge who had specials needs as well which I can truly appreciate and admire. But I think the extra time and care needs to be taken to ensure all car seats are installed properly and that all drivers are trained on how to not only install them safely and securely but how to Also make sure our kids are strapped in properly . I will give them four stars for now until I have more information. I will say Frank was very good about sending me a video showing me that he took the time to reinstall the two loose carseats . The guy driving this van flew down while students and their cars were present. My colleague said this happened before. So I looked up the business and spoke to whoever answered to report the violation. As someone who works at a school it is very concerning to see this as we are actively trying to SAFELY help students into their cars. I hope this has been fully remedied. If not, I'd reconsider giving business if their drivers don't respect important safety laws.

No confirmation was received, so I phoned James the day before my appointment to confirm my scheduled transport. James told me everything was still on, and assured me I was "in good hands". The MQMT driver arrived 26 minutes LATE, and I was forced to reschedule my appointment (doctor allows only a 15 minute grace period for late arrivals, and it would not have been possible to reach my doctor's office before 2:00 PM). This company is TOTALLY UNRELIABLE, and I will NEVER do business with them in the future. I lost my appointment because of MQMT. This company charges extremely high rates and should be avoided whenever possible. The hospitals generally do not seem to care what American Medical Response charges their patients so you must get involved in making your choice for medical transport. in this case, San Dimas Community Hospital arranged for the transport, again, non-emergent, without giving us an option to choose another more reasonable priced transport company. in the case of non-emergency transport call ahead to multiple companies and get a cost quote. The fees that they, American Medical Transport, charged us for a total time commitment by their ambulance of less than one hour came out to several hundred dollars a mile or over two thousand dollars for an hour. We have had other experiences with their competitors wherein we were charged a small fraction of the cost for much longer distance and time commitments. There are good honest medical transport companies out there so there is no reason not to choose someone other than American Medical Transport for your non-emergency medical transportation services. Beware, avoid and spread the word about the exorbitant amounts charged by American Medical Transport for simple short non-emergency medical transportation.
