This place is on a canal, waterfront seating, if you can get it. Del Prado is right there, so it can have road noise. Inside is quiet little seating areas that have TV's at every table. It is a clean place to go have happy hour for $2.50 beer. The food is awesome. The onion rings, fried mushrooms and tater tot pork is great for under $8. We walked in and were told by the waitress to sit anywhere. The only booths available were corner booths so that's were my husband and I sat. The same waitress came back with plates in her hand and asked us how many more in our party. I told her it was just us and she proceeded to roll her eyes at me. Visited with my family and the food was great. If only for the food the rating will be a 4 star. As for the service, the server (a female) was rude from the onset and made us felt like we should not be there. (I was wearing my Mexico cap and I can only assume that the server had a problem with that or maybe with my accent) I did not want to make a scene so I just let it go. My husband and another couple arrived here for dinner last night (Saturday) around 8pm. Although the parking lot appeared very crowded there were plenty of tables inside and out. We sat outside on the waterfront deck. Our server was very good and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered hot wings (excellent!) and drinks (Angry Orchard, two pitchers of beer). The menu was extensive for what I assumed was a "burger and beer" type of place. I ordered a hamburger with onion and avocado (unusual for a place like this to have avocado), my husband ordered fried mushrooms, and our friends ordered the basa fish and the bruschetta chicken dinner. I loved my burger, but my husband was unhappy with the portion size of the mushrooms (shown in photo), so he ordered a burger just like mine. My friend felt her fish was "too soft," and I agree that it was soft, but the flavor was good. I didn't try the bruschetta chicken but my friend said it was "different and interesting." We ordered a piece of chocolate cake and it was to die for. The prices were affordable and the staff was friendly. There was a television in the women's restroom, which struck me as very odd. Also, there was a neon light above us on the deck, and when it got dark we began getting pelted by June (and other) bugs, so keep this in mind if you're uncomfortable with bugs. My husband and I have been looking for our hangout spot since moving to the Cape... and we have found it!! I LOVE FRD! The food is excellent, the servers are nice, and the drinks are cheap! We come here at least once a week. They are always showing all the games (NFL, etc.) on the TVs. We usually eat at the bar, but on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays it gets really crowded, so we usually venture in on weeknights. Haven't had a bad meal yet. Have not sat outside, so cannot comment. I would say that it would be better if they had entertainment... but you know what? No, it wouldn't. This place is to be loved for what it is: a sports bar. Nothing more, nothing less. They have tons of TVA that the will tune in to the sports event that you want- we wanted a basketball game on the same day the Packers played the Giants in football. Excellent service and a friendly crowd. I had the fried shrimp which was better than the cheesy stuff I had FRiday at a seafood place. My wife has some Carmel/chocolate cake that was wonderful. Not a bad spot for a quick bite. Ordered a beef dip that had decent flavor. The prime rib used was a bit tough and they put so much provolone cheese on top that it muted the sauteed onions and the au jus. The fries were awesome and fresh! I first came here a couple years ago with my dad when I moved into town from Cali. I very much enjoyed myself, but subsequently forgot to return. Until last week. Finally remembered I'd been intending to return and very much loved the whole place. The inside is comfortable and the staff is very courteous. We went a little early for dinner, but found the place was already half-full, which is an indication that it's a well-respected establishment. Our food was superb. Hmm.. Not what we were expecting. Typical sports bar with tons of tv ..but with an older crowd. Customers were all 65+ years of age so we felt a bit odd being the youngest at the bar. None of the guests fit the sport bar "target audience" per se. It was just odd. We figured locals just came here for the cheap food, not for the actual sports or bar. Food is nothing to rave about. This place was a great surprise. We were looking for seafood/burger without the sky high prices. First Round is close to home so we decided to gie it a try. My wife had the fish wrap and i had the Buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were delicious! Our private tv at our table for my toddler was a bonus. He is a bit wild at times so it helped him keep calm. We wanted to sit outside on the covered patio overlookng the canal bit apparently so did everyone else. The place had a nicer atmosphere than i would have guessed from the curb. We really like this place and always sit outside on the deck. No so average bar food actually. The Ahi Tuna is really good and the Grilled Romaine Salad is superb! Not crazy about the fish bites and anything else they use that kind of fish for, but everything else has been good. My husband has tried several different burgers, and has never been disappointed. During one visit, I ordered a Colorado Bulldog, and was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable cost. The staff has always been friendly, and remembers my family. There are several TVs and it can get quite crowded on a Sunday during football season, so get a seat early. I am allergic to smoke, so I have never dined on their patio, but people always seem to be having a good time. I have had to return an item once to the kitchen, but it was quickly replaced with a smile. My husband would recommend their homemade chips as an alternative to fries. Ok so here is my deal! We are spending 3 months in Cape Coral and eating out a LOT! The 3 months are almost over and I am now reviewing the restaurants we have visited. First Round Draft would be one of the Top ones if not our First choice! We and our friends from Ohio have probably had most of the items on the menu and I want to tell you we have NEVER been disappointed . Service has been great ,food even greater! We hesitate to recommend restaurants as they then usually fall short for the friends we recommend them to. First Round is the exception!
