    Blueberry lemon

Went to the farmers market to grab some of the blueberry lemon donuts. It is a food truck or bus I should say that is brightly colored. They take card or cash (tips welcomed). Service was excellent; you place your order, pay and move to the left like the electric slide and wait patiently for your donuts. They are freshly made...you can't beat a warm donut that just melts in your mouth. This was my second visit and the apple cider donuts are just as delicious!

[Pandemic review - 2020] A friend recommend these when I came to visit Richmond. The truck moves its location, so you will want to check their social media to know where they are at. We got up early to be among the first to get them. That day they were selling apple cider donuts and hot apple cider (see pics for the prices). I decided to go with the dozen without any dipping sauce. One of my friends did get the apple cider and liked it. I thought it was a little too expensive for what it was. The donuts were nice and hot and covered in sugar. I personally thought there was way too much sugar. I dusted off a lot of it before trying it. They tasted good fresh...but I don't think it is worth getting up early, flagging them down, and paying $10 for a dozen ($6 for 6 donuts). The donuts are medium sized. Bigger than mini donuts but smaller than say a Krispy Kreme donut. I guess if you are craving fresh donuts, these are good. Otherwise I can't really justify the price.

Had my first, first stop donuts experience at the South of the James Farmers Market! Service was super friendly. We got cider donuts and a cold apple cider. This was the best cider donut I've had! Warm, soft and chewy on the inside, and a tiny bit crispy on the outside. They are quite small but the perfect little treat!!

First Stop Donuts made a trip to the neighborhood we live in today! Sending thanks to you all coming out during this crazy time. We were able to preorder last night for a dozen donuts. My husband was able to go pick up this morning during the time we selected and they delivered to the car. The donuts came in two baggies 1/2 dozen each. They were toasty hot apple cider donuts, super delicious. Perfect amount of cinnamon and sugar covering the donuts. The only thing I would say is that I wish the donut was slightly larger... they were on the petite side. For anyone that has had an Apple Cider Donut from Carter Mountain or Carpe Donut in Charlottesville, very similar. All in all very good I would totally get their donuts again

These donuts are so delicious. Served fresh with a crunchy outside and warm center. Flavor and texture both on point. Only a short wait for them to be made fresh and great price, too.

Unfortunately after 2 of these donuts, I'm feeling like after Thanksgiving. I just want to recline in the chair and sleep til Xmas!! They put effort, time, and love into preparing everything. Their attitudes match their products. Pleasant, courteous, and the type of good mood and good energy that is contagious!!! A couple with a baby was in there and the cashier was actually talking to the baby and making her coo and laugh. The baby's mom expressed,"You're gonna need me to get the door for you." as she assisted me exiting with my 3 dozen guilty pleasures!! (I didn't eat them all. We have 5 kids and a niece living here and 2 other kids visiting that require spoiling every so often) My two complaints about the Lombardy store.... 1.) It's too damn small. The products and the attitude of the staff creates the type of atmosphere that requires a dozen or so tables for people to remain and soak enough of that good energy in, to go out and spread those good vibes around. 2.) I try to be at work at 7am and I try to bring positive energy in the door either me, especially on Mondays. The Sugar Shack doesn't open til 7am. I'd use up all that positive energy by the time I get through that downtown Richmond traffic. You guys are the greatest!! I appreciate your great donuts, lattes, and customer service!! Keep doing what you're doing!!!

Anytime I see sugar shack, I always have to grab one (donuts randomly show up at my job from time to time). The dough is more bread like than Krispy kreme or Dunkin. The flavor combinations and toppings they do are so creative and delicious! Always enjoy these!

Easily twice as big as the other guys. But... It's the taste that counts. These are simply the best donuts I've ever had. EVER!!! Taste fantastic and true to its intended flavor. If you want donuts that are a real treat not some cookie cutter franchise then give them a shot. I'll be picking some up for the Superbowl. And like Broadway Joe; I guarantee you'll love them.

Country Style Donuts was close to our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. The shop itself is a little tucked away and has limited parking out front and the building definitely feels dated, but we were still excited to try something new. We picked out a dozen donuts planning to head back to the hotel relax with some milk and enjoy a couples movie night. Unfortunately, the excitement ended petty quickly. Even though we were told the donuts were baked fresh every morning, they tasted stale and completely lacked flavor. We each took a bite of every donut in the box, hoping maybe we'd just chosen the wrong ones to start with, but all of them had the same issue. They were dry, flat-tasking, and honestly inedible. We were planning to return the next day to take some home to family but after our first few bites that went out the window. On top of that the store itself could use some updating, and the bathroom espeically left a lot to be desired. Overall, we really wanted to love this place but the donuts just didn't deliver. Next time we are in the area, we'll have to look for a different spot.
