Popping in for breakfast really early, I self-seated without any greeting from waitstaff. I took in the décor, music, and cleanliness before a waitress appeared. While not the friendliest, Idecided to forgo the pleasantries and order - Eggs Benny, Million dollar potatoes and hot chocolate. The Benny is made with super thin deli ham * think lunch meat) - too salty for eggs Benny IMO. The potatoes were great though! And while the hit chocolate tasted like it was made with powder and ZERO milk/cream, I just chocked it up to "not everyone can nail a good beverage". Essentially the Million dollar potatoes were the highlight of the visit. When needing my check and a to-go container, it took my waitress entirely too long to get back to me, as the waitress for the next table had her guests greeted, seated, ordered and served. On an odd note, they are replicas of one another... young brunettes in jeans and trim tops - discerning them was fun :/ Overall, I'd stick with Snooze due better breakfast.

Family & I went to this location on Friday August 15th @ 10:30a because we were staying at a hotel nearby. Once we looked up the menu, we wanted to give them a try because we tried other locations prior in different states. We checked the guest list because you can make a reservation online and they didn't have a wait time but once we pulled up, a lot of people were pulling up at the same time so we were able to check ourselves in on the guest list prior to the other guests to get in right away since it was a wait time. The young gentlemen seated us right away & he was friendly. Once seated our waitress came to our table to take our orders after looking at the menu for a while and ask her any questions and go from there. Our waitress Adelaide was a little busy, and when she was taking our orders, she very short and was rushing us a bit; which we did not care for. Later, on in our visit she apologized because we had to wait awhile for bill & for our to go box & bag. We had to pull the bus young man to get our to go box for us because our waitress forgot. We order the strawberries and cream French toast, the shrimp and grits and the farm fresh skillet with an upgrade of the million dollar potatoes for extra two dollars. The lavender lemonade was good and sodas needed additional CO2; so I believe the machine needed to be changed. Overall, my skillet with million potatoes was decent with the potatoes needed to be cooked longer. The shrimp and grits were OK. They need more seasoning and we will prefer it without tomatoes because it threw off the dish and the strawberries and cream French toast was good. Also a tip sign up for the email club for additional specials and offers

Food great new menus for spring. I had the soak Cal breakfast hash. Make sure you ask for the potatoes to be very well done mine were not and it didn't taste as good. I left a lot on the plate cause it didn't taste cooked all the way. I think if they could cook the potato separately, it would be a much better offering Service Courtney very attentive Ambiance new clean attached a great video of the new clean refreshing ambience

Three of us went for breakfast -- and we were seated right away. One person had a simple omelet with fruit on the side, another had the pesto bowl, and I had the superfoods bowl -- with gluten-free bread. It came out quickly and the server was extremely friendly. It could be a Georgia thing, but she made sure we were happy with the food, our waters were filled, and we didn't need anything. It looked like other servers were also doing this at other tables. It was comfy and if we lived closer, this would be a good place to come back to.

Are you an early bird for breakfast? If the answer is YES, " First Watch " on Windward Parkway is the way to go. Arriving at 7:15 AM on a cold Sunday morning, I was definitely impressed when I walked through the doors. The establishment was well lit with bright lights and the staff were very friendly. Ordering the food was quick and easy. The coffee came out hot just like I like it. I was definitely impressed with the flavors and the potions. There was plenty of seating in the establishment along with great parking as well. The restrooms were a great size, clean and they also had changing tables for babies. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch if you're in the area. They also have cocktails! I will definitely stop by again to try something new. See you soon.

Back to First Watch for breakfast today. Sat at the bar as always and enjoyed food and coffee. My husband had the Chile Chorizo and I tried the Quinoa with Chicken. Yum! Kudos to Adriana who always makes sure people are being attended and kudos to Kanesha at the bar who is on top of everything with a nice smile! The place was busy and service was timely.

I was in town for brunch with my family and they told me that a First Watch had opened up on Windward where the Chili's used to be so we decided to check it out! There's plenty of parking out front but I do recommend getting there early as we had to wait a decent bit before being seated. I did appreciate though that their estimated wait time was pretty accurate (about 40 minutes). The inside is super spacious and very cute. Our server was super helpful and very attentive. I ordered a hot chocolate and then the cinnamon chip pancake platter special. I got one LARGE pancake as well as scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. The pancake was so delicious and the perfect amount of sweet. The eggs were fluffy and the sausage was so flavorful. Overall, really delicious food and I would definitely come back!!

I took my family for our first visit to FW. We are big on breakfast and love trying new places. The restaurant is spacious with a cozy atmosphere. I ordered a FARMHOUSE SKILLET and it was excellent. Others had a breakfast sandwich, waffle , biscuits & gravy. All of the selections were delicious. The donuts holes were also very good. Our server was very nice and checked on us several times.

Unfortunately, our excitement quickly faded before we were even seated. When I walked into the restaurant, I was completely ignored by a young blonde employee named Claudia who was standing behind the counter in the waiting area. She looked directly at me and continued what she was doing without so much as a greeting or an acknowledgment. A simple, "Good morning, someone will be right with you," would have gone a long way. Since no one else was in the lobby and I noticed a clipboard on the counter, I politely asked if there was a waitlist. Claudia responded with an attitude that she "wasn't the hostess." I calmly asked where the hostess was, and she simply replied that she was clearing tables. There was no offer to help, no explanation of the process, and no attempt to assist me. She continued interacting with other staff members while I stood there feeling like an inconvenience. Thankfully, another employee who appeared to be a waiter noticed me. He immediately picked up the same clipboard that had been sitting on the counter, took my name and phone number with a cheerful attitude, and let me know it would be about a 15-minute wait. His professionalism completely contrasted with the poor customer service I had just experienced. Once seated, our waiter was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was also very good. I ordered the Chicken Sausage Scramble with hash browns, and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Catfish and Grits and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The food and our waiter helped redeem the experience, but first impressions matter. Management should ensure that every employee understands that providing basic courtesy and hospitality is everyone's responsibility, not just the hostess's. Even if greeting guests or managing the waitlist wasn't Claudia's primary role, there was no excuse for being dismissive or rude to someone walking through your front door. Alpharetta has no shortage of excellent brunch spots with both great food and outstanding customer service. Sadly, because of the way I was treated before I was even seated, I won't be returning to The Southern Porch. I also won't feel comfortable recommending it to friends or family. It's disappointing because the kitchen and our waiter did their jobs well, but one employee's attitude overshadowed what could have been an otherwise enjoyable brunch.

It's a small, popular place, and the wait can be long, especially during brunch hours. Some of my friends had to wait for almost 2hrs for the table. That said, it's a family-run style restaurant with a cozy, homey vibe, and the food is good. They serve classic Southern breakfast and brunch dishes, and most items are flavorful and comforting but compared to other brunch places the portion sizes are small. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is friendly, though service can feel a bit slow when it's busy. Overall, it's a good spot if you're craving Southern comfort food, but go with patience--or try visiting on a weekday to avoid the long wait.

My fiancé immediately said the atmosphere reminded him of a café in New York City, and I completely understood what he meant. I ordered the tiramisu, which was delicious, and my fiancé got the cookies and cream cheesecake, which he gave a solid 10/10. The dessert selection alone makes it worth stopping in, especially when you want something sweet after dinner without committing to another full meal. Our service was quick and kind, but what we really appreciated was that we were able to just sit, enjoy our desserts, and spend time together without constantly being interrupted. Our server was attentive when we needed something but otherwise let us enjoy our evening, which was exactly what we wanted. They also have a full bar along with their extensive coffee selection, which makes this such a fun late night spot. Even my fiancé, who rarely comments on restaurant decor, kept pointing out how cool the space was. Between the atmosphere, huge dessert selection, great service, and the fact that you can stop in later in the evening for coffee, cocktails, and something sweet, Café Intermezzo is such a great addition to a night at Avalon.
