Brisket Tacos: Quite disappointing, as the meat was dry and lacked any real flavor. Million Dollar Potatoes: Note for non-pork eaters, these contain bacon, which wasn't clear prior to ordering. The biggest drawback, however, is the women's restroom. The stall doors have massive gaps that completely compromise privacy, making it impossible not to see inside even when not looking. Coffee is blah and expensive ($4) which is more than Starbucks. My omelette which was supposed to have chorizo had a whole lot of onions and not much of chorizo. I wanted avocado instead of fruit salad but got fruit salad. Pancake was nothing special and left half of it there. Creamer is the individual plastic packets the kind they have in offices. Popping in for breakfast really early, I self-seated without any greeting from waitstaff. I took in the décor, music, and cleanliness before a waitress appeared. While not the friendliest, Idecided to forgo the pleasantries and order - Eggs Benny, Million dollar potatoes and hot chocolate. The Benny is made with super thin deli ham * think lunch meat) - too salty for eggs Benny IMO. The potatoes were great though! And while the hit chocolate tasted like it was made with powder and ZERO milk/cream, I just chocked it up to "not everyone can nail a good beverage". Essentially the Million dollar potatoes were the highlight of the visit. When needing my check and a to-go container, it took my waitress entirely too long to get back to me, as the waitress for the next table had her guests greeted, seated, ordered and served. Family & I went to this location on Friday August 15th @ 10:30a because we were staying at a hotel nearby. Once we looked up the menu, we wanted to give them a try because we tried other locations prior in different states. We checked the guest list because you can make a reservation online and they didn't have a wait time but once we pulled up, a lot of people were pulling up at the same time so we were able to check ourselves in on the guest list prior to the other guests to get in right away since it was a wait time. The young gentlemen seated us right away & he was friendly. Once seated our waitress came to our table to take our orders after looking at the menu for a while and ask her any questions and go from there. Our waitress Adelaide was a little busy, and when she was taking our orders, she very short and was rushing us a bit; which we did not care for. Later, on in our visit she apologized because we had to wait awhile for bill & for our to go box & bag. We had to pull the bus young man to get our to go box for us because our waitress forgot. We order the strawberries and cream French toast, the shrimp and grits and the farm fresh skillet with an upgrade of the million dollar potatoes for extra two dollars. The lavender lemonade was good and sodas needed additional CO2; so I believe the machine needed to be changed. Overall, my skillet with million potatoes was decent with the potatoes needed to be cooked longer. The shrimp and grits were OK. They need more seasoning and we will prefer it without tomatoes because it threw off the dish and the strawberries and cream French toast was good. Three of us went for breakfast -- and we were seated right away. One person had a simple omelet with fruit on the side, another had the pesto bowl, and I had the superfoods bowl -- with gluten-free bread. It came out quickly and the server was extremely friendly. Very slow service from the early time we got there waiting to have a table assigned, orders taken and even a longer waiting time to get a very simple breakfast served. I have had a good experience at a different location but this restaurant needs management. When arriving noticed several tables empty outdoors which is where we asked to sit. We were put on a wait and those same tables were never filled. On top of that when we were seated there were at least 3 tables that were never bussed while we were there. We waited a fair amount of time for a server then gave up and left. What I did notice was that the manager was just standing around inside the restaurant when he should have been tending to the disgusting dining area outside. Arriving at 7:15 AM on a cold Sunday morning, I was definitely impressed when I walked through the doors. The establishment was well lit with bright lights and the staff were very friendly. Ordering the food was quick and easy. The coffee came out hot just like I like it. I was definitely impressed with the flavors and the potions. There was plenty of seating in the establishment along with great parking as well. The restrooms were a great size, clean and they also had changing tables for babies. I was in town for brunch with my family and they told me that a First Watch had opened up on Windward where the Chili's used to be so we decided to check it out! There's plenty of parking out front but I do recommend getting there early as we had to wait a decent bit before being seated. I did appreciate though that their estimated wait time was pretty accurate (about 40 minutes). The inside is super spacious and very cute. Our server was super helpful and very attentive. I ordered a hot chocolate and then the cinnamon chip pancake platter special. I got one LARGE pancake as well as scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. We were both very impressed with the quality of our food. The portions were large as well. The turkey sausage gravy was delicious as were the potatoes. My brother said it was the best omelet he's had in years. I also love the fact that they use organic products when they can, cage-free eggs, and there's even organic sugar and stevia on the table. My daughter had the avocado toast with scrambled eggs on the side. She loved it. I also ordered the million dollar bacon. I got the roast beef half sandwich with grilled onions and horseradish and a half Cobb salad. The sandwich was pretty good, but the Cobb salad didn't have many ingredients in it or much taste. We came to this cute brunch spot on Black Friday, and we were sat right away! The vibe is casual, cute breakfast with some fun decor and a full bar. We didn't get any drinks today, but I will make sure to next time! As an appetizer, we ordered the gingerbread spice donuts - a seasonal item, served with two dips. These were a great share size and a good sweet starter - there are so many great savory items on the menu, so it was nice to have a taste of something sweet before getting my food. For the main meal, I ordered the eggs Benedict BLT style. The poached eggs were only a little runny, so an "over-medium poach," which I didn't mind, but something to keep in mind if you like extra runny eggs. Overall, though, great flavors and plenty of food. The bacon was cooked to perfection, and the avocado and greens were fresh. my side of grits was a little *too* buttery, but i'll just make sure to ask for less butter next time. My family all had great things to say about their meals, as well. My husband got the steak and bacon breakfast burrito, which he destroyed. Mom got the trifecta, which proved to be a great mix of sweet and savory flavors. Dad got the delicious chili chorizo omelette with a side of buttery grits. We got great service from Jessica - I was impressed that she not only took the time to get us more coffee, but also took our tin of creamers back to refill the specific flavors we wanted. This new First Watch on Windward is a welcome addition to the breakfast scene in greater Alpharetta that includes Nest Cafe, Gracious Plenty, Another Broken something or other, Cracker Barrel, and J. Christopher's among others. We love the space. Open and clean. The decor is modern and comfortable with booths, tables and some nice two tops with comfy chairs. Colors are warm and inviting. The place just has a nice, cozy feel inside. The host sat us quickly and asked if we wanted coffee. It was 8:30 AM, so the answer was a quick yes. Unfortunately he forgot about us, and it took a visit from our server to bring a carafe of hot coffee and some waters. After that service was efficient and our orders came out quickly and correctly. On this visit we both had the Tri-fecta. Two eggs, a pancake or waffle, and a protein priced at about $12.50. We usually order our eggs over-medium, and that is always a crap shoot. Typically "over-medium" eggs aren't. They come out over-easy, and typically they arrive with hard, overdone edges indicative of cooking too fast on too high of a heat. The eggs at First Watch were cooked absolutely perfectly, worthy of a Jacques Pepin or Julia Child "tres bien"! Our eggs were expertly cooked - firm but tender whites with no crispy over-done bits, and yolks that were just beginning to firm up. A pro in the kitchen! Kudos to the chef! We both ordered waffles today, and we both remarked how really good the waffle was, too. Golden brown with a bite that's just a little crisp. Soft whipped butter for the top. FW has a really good syrup, but they also have real maple syrup on request. Miss M got the bacon which came out nicely crisp and in a nice portion size. On the other hand my sole sausage link looked lonely on the plate, begging to be joined by at least one more link. Really? Only one link for $12.50? : ( FW coffee is good but not a reason to eat here. The good news is that the quality of the breakfast, to include the proper cooking of seemingly simple over-medium eggs and waffles, was eggceptional (pun intended). So, while the Windward First Watch is a 4 star breakfast experience, another half star is only really an extra sausage link (or two) away. I was lucky enough to catch a pre opening invitation on Facebook the weekend before they opened. I knew my wife would be more than thrilled to go a new breakfast joint. The inside looks very nice and you wouldn't even know it used to be an old chili's. Yet the outside only got a lite remodel and paint. Now the service was great but I would expect that as they pull out all the stops for the pre opening show. The food was typical of a brunch joint. I like to keep breakfast simple and got the eggs, bacon, and waffle this time. The eggs aren't the best and I'm definitely not a fan of the green onion sprinkled on them but it was tolerable. The bacon was well bacon, hard to screw that up. Lol. The Belgian waffle was fluffy and delicious and they even bring out warmed syrup. I ordered a Trifecta to go, and my order was supposed to be ready at 9:52am. I arrived on time, but the to-go bag wasn't on the shelf, so I waited. After 5 minutes, I returned to find it still wasn't there, and despite several employees seeing me, no one offered to help. At 10:15am, a woman finally came out and rudely asked another customer, who had arrived after me, who they were picking up for. Then, she brought out my cold, 30-minute-old food. To make things worse, the potatoes were burnt to a crisp--blackened and inedible. Just look at the photo! I had to leave for an appointment that my long wait almost made me late for, so I didn't have time to talk to a manager. I called the restaurant to complain, but was left on hold indefinitely and never got to a manager. The service was terrible, the food was awful, and the lack of customer care is inexcusable.
