Egg..selent place for breakfast. Cool interior, family friendly, outstanding service (Cam was awesome) and the food was spot on! 1st time in, and will definitely be back!

Food always great Service was great by Yatziri ! Such a cute cafe experience. This was our Sunday spot to go to when we lived in Georgia. If we're ever back we'd stop by!!

    Sourdough toast

Food came out cold, they never checked up on us after 20 minutes, we had to call the server over for the check. She acted like we were an annoyance; this was the server with the dyed red hair. Cafe mocha was loaded with huge ice, maybe only half the glass had coffee if even that. Server was impatient and rude. I got the chorizo scrambler. Cold, but chorizo was good I guess. The toast that came with it was just dolloped with too much butter, not even an attempt to spread it around. Won't be coming back.

Stopped in for breakfast on a Thursday morning, service was excellent and the food was decent. I thought the servings were a good size for the price. The Eggs Benedict had a good taste but I was mildly disappointed that the eggs were overcooked (solid yolk). The food was well seasoned but my potatoes didn't have the crunchy exterior I was expecting.

This place isn't good at all .. if you want basic eggs then go ahead. The ambiance is pretty nice. It's clean and gives you an ld diner feel. The people at every friendly. They greet you at the door and this place is pretty packed. The serves works really hard to ensure everyone is okay

I had an absolute great time here. I was greeted quickly and sat quickly. My server came over and I got my coffee and then looked over the menu. There was only 2 servers and a few tables sat so I took my time and didn't mind if my server wasn't suuuuuper attentive to me. Times are harder and it's holiday season so why not give grace. Anyways , when she came back to me I gave my order and my food came out fairly quickly. Shrimp and grits bowl may not look the best but it was amazing and I'm going to order it every time I come back. The Baja chicken omelette had a ton of chicken inside and was flavorful!! The crema sauce on it really brought it together nicely and omg the banana pudding French toast!!!! I would order all of it again. Please order that if you love banana pudding. My server was great, food was great, plenty of space for large parties as well as tons of booths for smaller seating families and friends. And everything was reasonably priced. Nothing over the top. Plus tons of options on the menu. Loved it here

The space itself is a great size with plenty of seating both inside and out. The covered patio is key - you get the outdoor energy without the sun beaming down on you the entire meal. I went with the lamb chops served over garlic mashed potatoes, paired with the crispy sweet chili brussel sprouts and creamy mac and cheese. Every single thing hit. The lamb was tender, well-seasoned, and sat on top of some of the smoothest, most flavorful mashed potatoes I've had in a minute. The brussel sprouts actually stayed crispy, and the mac and cheese was rich and creamy. On top of that, the portions are serious - you're definitely getting your money's worth. For dessert, I tried the red velvet cheesecake. It turned out to be an actual slice of cheesecake sandwiched directly between two slices of red velvet cake. A little wild, but ridiculous in the best way possible. Great vibes, top-tier food, and generous portions. Just make sure you don't have major plans afterward, because a food coma is guaranteed.

The atmosphere was another highlight. The music set the perfect brunch vibe, and I loved the decor featuring artwork of iconic music artists. To me that is suitable to split amongst 8 people. The hash was delicious. Tiny roasted veg topped with your style of eggs. I chose sunny side and it was a perfect pour right into the dish. The music playing was coming from a vinyl record player and was at a reasonable volume to allow you to have a pleasant conversation. We both ordered a ham panini and while it took a little longer than I anticipated for the order to come out (but not unreasonably so), the sandwiches were hot and fresh. The cheese was gooey as cheese should be and the sandwiches were perfectly toasted. I got a fresh fruit cup for my side, and while that may seem like a simple task - it's amazing how many times you get sad looking fruit with minimal variety. Not here! My cup had a mix of strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and red and green grapes; everything looked absolutely fresh and perfectly ripe. My husband ordered a side of sweet potato chips. We actually thought they were homemade because they came out warm with just a little give to the chip. I actually asked them if they were made in-house and the clerk admitted that they weren't but that they warm them up to make them more tasty. I have to admit, it was a special treat and was a perfect accompaniment to the hot sandwich. Sadly, this place isn't really close to where we live, we just happened to be in the area for some business; however, I would actually make a special trip for this place. Unfortunately, our excitement quickly faded before we were even seated. When I walked into the restaurant, I was completely ignored by a young blonde employee named Claudia who was standing behind the counter in the waiting area. She looked directly at me and continued what she was doing without so much as a greeting or an acknowledgment. A simple, "Good morning, someone will be right with you," would have gone a long way. Since no one else was in the lobby and I noticed a clipboard on the counter, I politely asked if there was a waitlist. Claudia responded with an attitude that she "wasn't the hostess." I calmly asked where the hostess was, and she simply replied that she was clearing tables. There was no offer to help, no explanation of the process, and no attempt to assist me. She continued interacting with other staff members while I stood there feeling like an inconvenience. Thankfully, another employee who appeared to be a waiter noticed me. He immediately picked up the same clipboard that had been sitting on the counter, took my name and phone number with a cheerful attitude, and let me know it would be about a 15-minute wait. His professionalism completely contrasted with the poor customer service I had just experienced. Once seated, our waiter was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was also very good. I ordered the Chicken Sausage Scramble with hash browns, and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Catfish and Grits and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The food and our waiter helped redeem the experience, but first impressions matter. Management should ensure that every employee understands that providing basic courtesy and hospitality is everyone's responsibility, not just the hostess's. Even if greeting guests or managing the waitlist wasn't Claudia's primary role, there was no excuse for being dismissive or rude to someone walking through your front door. Alpharetta has no shortage of excellent brunch spots with both great food and outstanding customer service. Sadly, because of the way I was treated before I was even seated, I won't be returning to The Southern Porch. I also won't feel comfortable recommending it to friends or family. It's disappointing because the kitchen and our waiter did their jobs well, but one employee's attitude overshadowed what could have been an otherwise enjoyable brunch.
