We are visiting family and they wanted to take us out for dinner at the Village Tavern. Overall I would say our entire experience was meh. We ordered drinks but half the table ordered bar drinks that took forever to arrive. We ordered the onion dip and spinach dip for apps. The onion dip was missing onion and the spinach dip was blah, not much flavor. For our main I had the pimento blt which was really good but the fries were dull. Unfortunately my husband had the short ribs and they were horrible. They were drier than sawdust. My mother had a burger which was okay. My uncle enjoyed his fish and my grandmother enjoyed her ahi tuna. My aunt also had the blt and again it was very good. Unfortunately the meal as a whole just didn't measure up to the beautiful atmosphere.

My husband and I recently discovered Village Tavern on a whim not even a month ago, and we've been back 3 times already. This place is amazing! They offer so many food options and also a great Happy Hour selection. The interior reminds me of Fort Wilderness Lodge. For those that are Disney fans, you'll understand the reference. The location can get quite busy, but there is plenty of seating to handle large crowds both indoor and outdoor. The staff is amazing. We've never had someone help us that isn't polite or ready to give A+ service. I've tried so many things on the menu from their appetizers, to their dinner options, and ultimately their happy hour offerings. My current favorite appetizer is the Flash Fried Calamari. So flavorful and honestly I never want to share with my husband - it's THAT GOOD. The Happy Hour options are so filling and easily could satisfy a dinner craving for those that aren't super hungry. Try their Tuna Poke or their Firecracker Shrimp Tacos - both are AMAZING!

So, I decided to come back here since I had a good experience the first time and the food was good. I wasn't really impressed this time around, unfortunately. Service was incredibly slow. We ordered the crab dip, and honestly, I couldn't taste much of anything. I apps got the crabcakes as my entree and it was the same thing, no taste. My husband got the fish and chips and he didn't really enjoy it. The fish was had an overwhelming oil taste to it. I genuinely think this is a good spot for a family dinner, but I wasn't happy with the seafood here. Server was nice.

This has been my one our families' favorite lunch / dinner spots for years. Always great service , consistent food flavor, and relaxed atmosphere. Whether you want to sit in the full service spacious bar with tables , booths and hightops or dinner on the patio or inside dining area you will be satisfied. I am from NC where the restaurant originated and has been a go to spot for several outings. Give it a try if you have not.

Their Mediaterian Bowl has a mixture of Kale a Super Food, Grapes,Cheese,Cashews and Grilled Chicken Dish (WOW!!!!) it is a (Fantastic) very filling meal. And they sit you down right away when you have made Reservations ahead of time but there music is very much too loud and it makes you to hear the other's sitting around the table

I have been going here with my family ever since I was a child. It is truly a long standing neighborhood staple. Still quite busy even though it's been around forever, so that says something about this place. Bar area was busy with a more casual crowd. We ate on the dining room side. Service was properly attentive for a place of this caliber. Wide selection of what they call martinis but I call cosmos. Berry one much better than the pear one. Drinks similarly priced to other restaurants in the area. Our food did take a while to come out, but again, the place was quite crowded so not a big surprise. This is a place to go to linger and enjoy the ambiance and company, not to rush in and out of. My pork chop was perfectly cooked, just enough to get the pink out and still remain moist. Chutney definitely added flavor to otherwise benign mashed potatoes and green beans. I would order it again. I also love their grilled chicken Caesar salad. Tons of seating available (tables and booths), and they do take reservations for larger parties.

I came again on a business trip to Alpharetta back in September and came for lunch with a group of coworkers. Our party came staggered as two of our group were running late due to a meeting going over the allotted time. Laurel, our waitress was super cool about it and just cool in general. We ordered for our coworkers as they texted us what they wanted. The food was delicious, the service excellent. When Laurel came with our bill she had a collection of different colored pens for us to choose from... was like a rainbow. I thought that was neat! Cool place! Great food! Great Service!

Very good. We had the calamari in peanut sauce and burgers. Everything was cooked properly and was very tasty. The atmosphere is dimly lit, cozy, and comfortable. Our server Tikisha was very pleasant, nice, and professional.

This place is always packed for lunch. I just don't get it... are we starved for good places to eat around here. This is ok... it is by far not great! I had a Greek salad that was void of much besides lettuce. Including the dressing. I mean it was ok but it was very minimal and they still charged mint for basically lettuce. Service was good. They are always on top of it. My deal is that the food is just ok... it really is nothing special. My team continues to come here... I guess for convenance sake? This would not be my 1st, 4th or even 10th option... there are just so many better places!

As we pulled in front of the restaurant, I was very impressed by the modern exterior - very nice! Parking is a breeze - you can valet or self-park in the back of the restaurant. We had reservations but arrived a little early and had to wait about 5-10 minutes to be seated - not a huge deal for a busy Saturday night. Once we got to our table, we had an amazing experience. The table was sprinkled with rose petals and a card wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Our server, Tony, came promptly to take our order and noted our food allergies and restrictions. Our first course was the seafood tower, which I was able to customize with more shrimp since I'm allergic to oysters. Second, we had the lobster bisque and the burrata & beet salad. Both were divine! For the main course, I had the scallops while my husband had the filet medallions Oscar style, which comes with asparagus. We also ordered two additional sides for sharing - the crab fried rice and truffle mac. You honestly can't go wrong with either dish! We loved our meal but my husband wasn't crazy about the steak. We let our server know and the restaurant accommodated us accordingly. The service here is top notch and we cannot wait to dine here in the near future.

As for the food, it was hit-or-miss. My husband ordered the steak sliders from happy hour menu, but they were disappointing--it was just a small, thick cut of steak placed on a bun, rather than being thinly sliced, and it completely lacked any sauce. I also tried the beet salad from the regular menu, which was truly delicious, but it felt incredibly expensive for what it was. The drink options were a bit of a letdown. The happy hour cocktails seemed to be made with pretty low-end vodka, which threw the flavor profile way off. Because of that, we ended up ordering additional drinks from the regular menu instead--which defeated the whole purpose of going for happy hour. On the positive side, our server was absolutely on point and did a fantastic job, even though she was serving the entire bar by herself. The atmosphere was also lovely--the live band provided great background noise without being overpowering, so the overall vibe definitely worked. While the service and ambiance were great, the happy hour value and overall execution just weren't there for me.

In addition, I didn't care for the ten layer lasagne as there was way too much dough and barely any sauce. More sauce would've helped some but still too much dough. I'd say five layers would provide a similar presentation as the slices do look lovely and the same can be achieved with less layering and more filling and sauce. I ordered the Greggah lobster roll warm with their mustard sauce. It came on a top-loaded, buttery toasted bun filled with warm, fresh lobster. Absolute perfection. I also had the crab balls, calamari, and a house salad. The crab balls had a nice spice without going overboard and were served with a flavorful house-made sauce. The calamari was cooked well done, just how I like it--crispy, tender, and not rubbery at all. The sweet and hot sauce they serve it with is divine. The Louie sauce is my personal favorite. They make almost everything from scratch in-house, including the sauces and their slaw. The slaw is cool, creamy, tangy, and sweet--exactly like the kind I grew up eating. The house salad was generously portioned and full of crisp, fresh ingredients, all clearly prepped in-house. I came back the next day for lunch and caught the house-made clam strips special. I got the clam strip basket with sautéed vegetables--same side I had the night before because they were that good. The vegetables are crisp and vibrant, not mushy or overcooked like you sometimes get elsewhere. I also had a cup of clam chowder that was thick, creamy, and packed with flavor. You can taste the coast in every bite. The chain was founded in Carolina Beach, North Carolina, and it still carries that same coastal character. The staff here--bartenders and servers alike--are extremely friendly and helpful, which just adds to the overall experience.
