We were informed there's no pancakes and no waffles. Strike 1. We ordered the crab cake bene, the original shrimp and grits and the French toast with scramble. The French toast was fine. Nothing special. The scramble however was a complete joke. They clearly have a vat of their "side eggs" just ready for the scoopin. They were cold and oh so dry. My sister's crab cake entree was absolutely disgusting. The crab cake was orange on the inside, it was mushy and no discernible taste of crab whatsoever. It looked like a dark brown salmon patty my mama would make with a Double Q. The shrimp and grits. Wow and not in a good way. 50 percent of the bowl was onions. Both raw (and almost raw) onions and green onions. There were FOUR shrimp that were absolutely TINY (about the size of a Wild West shrimp from Longhorn) and they had the poop STILL IN THEM. Did I mention that this cost us ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS!?!?!? I want to stress again.... Our server was great. I always feel guilty writing bad reviews but I just had to be honest. My shrimp and grits were sparse on shrimp and were made with mushrooms and reminded me of ingredients found in an omelet. Not a typical flavor. I finished most but not all of it. Just a bit weird. And that 1/2 a biscuits? A lump of flavorless starch. Our server was nice but seems she wasn't as seasoned as other servers nearby. She should inform everyone of the specials. Ask your server if there are specials. Our cocktails were the best part of our meal. And the prices? That bowl of shrimp and grits, along with my simple side salad were a whopping $23. My wife's salad was comparably priced. The dogs split their bowl, which was $10 just a bit much but they did bring us a bowl of water. All-in-all average food, a bit cramped for seating, over priced and a server that needed to up her game.

We also ordered an almond croissant which was very good! I highly recommend getting it warmed up! The yogurt parfait was good once again, but had very little granola this time, unlike the first time I ordered. Unfortunately, they were out of sourdough so my daughter ordered the breakfast sandwich with a GF bagel instead (the only alternate option). She said it was just okay, but definitely had too much bread and wasn't super flavorful. Everything stated so fresh and delicious. The portions were large. The pastries were flaky. The baked goods were light and airy. It takes a lot of time and patience to make authentic French pastries. The Nectar salad has thick cut bacon, cucumber, blistered tomatoes, blue cheese, topped with toasted almonds served with their tomato vinaigrette. It had fresh mixed greens and was very good! The She Crab Bisque was flavorful but very thick - not actually a bisque texture. Backing off the thickening ingredient of their bisque would improve this soup. Lastly, I changed my original choice of Seafood Omelette once I found out their shrimp is brought in from Louisiana. I do not understand having access to fresh shrimp daily in this coastal area just off the Atlantic Ocean and opting to serve frozen, trucked in shrimp. I guess to comes down to profit? I was glad I asked my waitress, and I appreciate her checking and giving me an honest response. I'll return, but I certainly won't be ordering their shrimp unless they change their supplier to one of the local businesses.
