This was my first time here. I brought my two younger children (ages 4 & 7). There was a large wait when I did my search, so I added myself to the waitlist through Yelp. It said 30-45 min, but that I should check in with the host at a certain time, which was 28 minutes from when I added myself. I am glad that I did this, as I was seated within 5 min of arrival. The entrance was extremely busy and it was confusing at first trying to check in since people were paying at the same time, but other than this small thing, this place is amazing! I am a personal trainer and very much into eating healthy food. They offer so many healthy options and even the options that are a little heavier on calories, have a healthy twist to them. I loved the salad that they paired with my BLT Eggs Benedict. The lemon vinaigrette served on this salad is so tasty and I almost enjoyed my salad more than the main part of my meal! Service was excellent and everyone was friendly. I did not taste my children's food, but they ate it so I imagine theirs was good too. Went out for breakfast at 10am today by myself. First Watch was absolutely packed with people standing outside as well. Don't let that discourage you though because the popularity is for a good reason. Awesome food and excellent service. One key feature I enjoyed, since dining alone, was the community table. An 8 person seating area that's first come first serve. Unlike a bar where you face forward towards the kitchen at other diners, you may end up across from a total stranger, where you can either strike up a conversation or do your own thing. We all ended up sharing condiments, coffee, and discussing the foods we ordered and general small talk. It was a great experience I totally wasn't expecting. The waitperson showed up with my very own pot of coffee too. I didn't have to order coffee then wait. That was a plus right off the bat while I perused the unique menu. I went for the Floridian French Toast: three massive pieces of whole wheat FT covered in bananas, strawberries, and kiwi slices. The fruit was sweet and fresh. It came with raspberry jam which I'm not partial to but if you are I'm sure it's a great addition. I added a side of sausage links which were move flavorful than expected. The breakfast food was all in all very delicious and the experience, including waitstaff service, was excellent. I even got coffee to go. Food was very good! Definitely healthy eating with flavor. This location gets packed early and stays that way through lunch on the weekends which is a testament to the food. My family has yet to have an average or less meal here. They do have a cramped waiting area and no shade outside to wait under in the Summer months. Lobby gets warm from door opening constantly. I have been eyeing this spot for breakfast. After a long friday night my sister and I crawled in here for Saturday morning breakfast. It was crowded but due to our small party of 2 we were seated in about 5 minutes. I don't drink coffee anymore but chose to indulge and was very satisfied with the coffee, creamers, and splenda available. I was able to fix myself the perfect cup. I chose a veggie omlette and of course requested no tomatoes. There is no upcharge for selecting all egg whites. The side of multigrain bread was so delicious and so was the preserve. The side of dressed greens rounded out my meal perfectly. I am so glad I was able to make it in before my trip was over. Our service was quick and attentive. This was my first time here and wanted to take my mom out for breakfast. It was very busy so that is always a good sign for me and we had a 30 minute wait but we only waited around 15 minutes. Looking at the minute everything is focused on health which was really really cool. I got the Florida french toast with a side of the millionaire bacon. Omg !!! It hit the spot. The fruit was so fresh , the French toast was on point and the bacon was to die for. I loved our waiter. Was so nice and very attentive to our needs and made sure we got everything we wanted. In experience, First Watch is one of the best places for breakfast in this area. While I don't live in the area, I'm very familiar with their food and have been to this restaurant maybe 20+ times over the years. My father lives in Riverview and we generally stop here each morning on the way to fishing or a bike ride. The staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful and always seem to be in a pleasant mood. Definitely a 5-star service experience. While I'd love to give five stars here, I just can't because the food is very inconsistent. On this trip to Tampa, I ate here three times, and each time my food was cold. I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict on two of those trips, and it was cold both times. This morning I ordered an omelette with a side of fruit, and my bread hadn't been toasted at all. Our wonderful server (I feel so bad writing this because she is so nice!) replaced the toast and explained that their toaster was broken. Unfortunately, while the replacement toast looked warm and delicious, it was also cold. My potatoes on this particular dish were lukewarm, and the melon in my fruit cup wasn't even close to ripe. I've noticed these inconsistencies in the past as well, and finally decided to write this review. I hope they're able to get this squared away because FW is one of the only places to get a higher quality, healthier meal here in this town. read more

Just went here for breakfast for the first time, nice looking place and the service was fine as well. The problem is when it came to the food, first of all it was cold like it just came out of the refrigerator, second of all, it wasn't all that tasty and third the amount of food that you get is not a lot compared to how much you are actually spending. I love having breakfast/lunch at First Watch, but this location in Brandon is sooo busy. For myself, I had to wait 20 minutes. I ordered a coffee and the "you pick 2" with the 1/2 BLT & 1/2 honey pecan salad. The food came out quickly to my surprise. The salad was amazing!!!! I ate that first and was too full to eat the 1/2 sandwich, so I took it home. Also, make sure to tell them if you want the bread on the BLT toasted, as they had to bring me out some toasted slices to replace what was on my sandwich. I paid almost $14 not including tip which is pretty expensive for one person's lunch, but don't come here often. Food is always excellent though so of course will be back again. read more

We headed to First Watch in Brandon first thing this morning before the tropical storm came our way, and what a treat it was. With it not being our typical sunny Florida morning, and the storm moving our way, we were seated right away. My husband had the shrimp & grits with andouille sausage. If he could he would have licked his plate clean. I had the AB&J waffle, which was a waffle drizzled with almond butter, topped with strawberry preserve, granula, & fresh strawberries. The server asked if I would like syrup & I said yes. I can't remember ever having waffles without smoothing it in syrup but.... I thought with all these wonderful topping, I need to try this without the syrup, and I ever glad I did. These waffles do not need syrup. I'm not sure if there are many items on their menu that you would want to cover with syrup. Service was wonderful, no long wait on the food, coffee & orange juice were perfect. And the food.... We'll be back very soon, and we purchased two gift cards for our family members to us in VA. Defiantly worth the five stars. read more

The First Watch Restraunt. Our first time visiting, 2/25/17 9:30 Am. We were welcomed with a warm greeting as we walked in. No waiting to be seated ( 2 people ). Our server was Travis who was very pleasant. Finding a place with both of these is quite rare, in the Brandon area. We were given adequate time to look over the menu. Hubby decided on the French Toast Brioche. I decided on The Trifecta with bacon & eggs. Very good portions for your money. Travis brought us warmed maple syrup and a 2L insulated crarfe of coffee. Both orders had a side of warmed raspberry jam and a dollop of unsalted butter in the middle of the Brioche & Belgian Waffle. Sorry no picture of the French Toast Brioche, it was 1/2 gone before I could get a snap of it. I did get a glimpse as it was when plated. Fluffy and browned to perfection. The Trifecta's Belgian Waffle was fluffy, with the perfect crispness around the edge. The bacon was crispy with no sheen of grease laying on the top. The eggs were as I ordered, not pre-salted or seasoned. For your coffee you have a choice of flavored creamers and sweeteners. Normally I don't order Regular water at Restraunt's I stick to mineral water. but as I looked around I was surprised to see on other customers tables crarfe's of water that looked refreshing. It was cold & tasted good, (Fresh) the ice was completely clear no haze. We finally found a Restraunt in our area with good service, & delicious food. read more

Had a wonderful experience the servers where very inventive since I always ask for some change from menu. So different from last time I was here. Good breakfast food and a reasonable price. This place likes to put a fresh spin on breakfast. The food is always good, but definitely a little small on the portions for me. I had the Bacado, it was average but could have been better. The only issue I had with this omelet is that it did not seem to have a lot of bacon or avocado. I figured that their would be a little more of both, it seemed more like a cheese omelet with some bacon and a little bit of avocado. Plus when they plated the omelet it was filed in half. It was overfilled so most of the cheese and a little of the bacon/avacdo was actually on the plate not the omelet. I added a side of Sante Fe sauce which added the flavor that I was looking for. The English muffin was barely warm, but after smothering it with strawberry jelly it was good. All in all it is another breakfast place in Brandon. Nothing fancy or special. read more

The place was busy, in a good way. They have complimentary coffee while you wait. Their coffee is good. Their service was good. My Casa Frittata plate was good. I would be giving 4 stars, but both their english muffin and rye bread were incredibly bland. I get that they are sort of a healthier place, but they buttered my breads and it still lacked real flavor. And given some of their combinations, their take on healthiness is arguable, from my experience baking, I would say it is that their bread didn't have enough salt. For the rye, it needed more caraway spice, which gives rye it's distinctive flavor. Fix your bread and you will get more stars from me. Regardless, I would eat there again in a heartbeat, better food than IHOP and just felt so much cheerier and cleaner. read more

Usually, this restaurant is wonderful. I don't know what happened something has changed. I ordered Eggs Benedict but asked for a simple change, scrambled eggs on top instead of poached eggs. When I got my plate, it was as if someone has scrambled an egg in a pan instead of using a bowl first. I know how to scramble an egg, that was not it. The hollandaise sauce had way too much lemon in it. Hollandaise sauce is supposed to be creamy, smooth, and WARM. I didn't want someone to sneeze or a booger in my food, so I kept quiet. My husband's breakfast was great. Fried eggs, bacon, toast with jelly, fried potatoes, and coffee were all very tasty. This restaurant is usually great.
