I have visited First Watch in Buford, GA twice. On the first visit I had the chicken avocado chop salad and a cup of tomato basil soup. The salad was very good. The soup was fair (have had as good from grocery store). On my second visit I ordered the chicken salad melt sandwich and soup. The chicken salad melt, which was posted as having "white-meat chicken salad made with apples, raisins and celery served open-faced on grilled artisan whole grain. Topped with tomato and melted Monterey Jack." What I received was a sandwich with onions (and LOTS of them) substituted for apples. I hate raw onions, so the sandwich was inedible. Waitstaff are friendly. Kitchen is slow. If want to have conversation with your companions, forget it. It's very noisy. If I want an excellent chicken salad sandwich again, I'll go to Daddy O'Brien's. read more

The hostess absolutely blew my mind she was so rude. I know not everyone is a morning person, but why work at a breakfast restaurant if you can't have a good attitude in the morning? She took our phone number to receive a text for seating, once we received the text we walked in and she immediately led us to a table for 2. We followed her and she turned around and said "what are you doing? Can I help you?" I told her we thought she was taking us to our table. She rolled her eyes and lectured us that if we wanted a table we should have said something... and she left us standing in the middle of the restaurant. The high school/younger waitstaff was so amazing and accommodating considering they were so busy compared to the middle aged grumpy host. The food was absolutely delicious! Hostess is the front line and should set the standard. You can tell this place cares about cleanliness and good customer service-aside from hostess (and girl to girl- please put some makeup on if morning shadow isn't your friend and maybe brush the hair yikes) read more

Not sure why but the few times I've been, the wait time has been super long and the the hostesses have not been friendly. They do a poor job at seating according to the wait list. The last two times I've gone, I waited an hour each time before getting sat. I'm not sure why I'm told to wait 20-30 minutes when it's actually going to be more time. The positives: atmosphere is nice, food is fresh and of high quality, coffee and drinks are great too. The employees are friendly. The negatives, well, let's just say that these are things that should be easily dealt with .....: the service is pretty slow even though the waitstaff always seemed to be hustling. Drinks came out quickly though. There were many tables that needed to be bussed and waiting for the check was very slow too. Actually it never came and I had to go inside and just ask for it. My first visit was with a group of 7 people. I put us on the waiting list 15 minutes before arriving at the restaurant. We still continued to wait for at least 30 minutes once we arrived at the restaurant. Service was polite but very lacking in efficiency. Once seated, the waiter didn't know the menu items well enough to describe what some of the items were or how they were prepared. We had to ask for creamer for the coffee and it was delivered in a juice glass - making it almost impossible to pour without a mess. Coffee ran out and we had to get up and find someone to bring us more coffee. Our order took an additional 30 minutes to prepare and, when served, one person didn't get their order and, again, we had to go and find someone to ask why and then it took another 5 minutes to get that meal delivered. The food was great but, it was hard to enjoy after waiting so long and becoming frustrated with the staff. They did comp the meal that was incredibly late to the table so that was appreciated although expected at that point in the experience. read more

We have visited the location twice. The restaurant is aesthetically attractive, nice employees, and the food is great! The food is fresh, good for us, and pleasing! The only caveat is the two times we have visited, there are lots of people waiting to be sat and there are 3-5 tables available to be cleaned. We always look around, see the tables, and wonder why does it takes so long to get them cleaned and available to folks who are ready to enjoy their wonderful menu! read more

Went in for the first time and ordered the Traditional with eggs over medium and pork sausage. The sausage was room temperature. The eggs came out fully hard with zero runny yolk. The waitress knew they were wrong but brought them out anyway and asked if I wanted them to make two more which I said yes. They remade the eggs but one was broken and running out. This is one way to ruin a $15 breakfast. Better cooks please. read more

We checked in for brunch at 11:11am today and got seated at 11:50. The long wait was expected considering that it's a Saturday peak brunch hours. But we ordered our food at noon and the food came at 12:53pm plus he server got our order wrong so who knows how long will take my husband to get the right order. I know the food is amazing and I know it's busy on the weekends but this is a restaurant. Who waits 50 minutes for food to be cooked and served at a restaurant?? Plus the server was giving us massive attitude about how busy they were. If you are this busy, maybe hire additional staff so your customers don't have to wait for over an hour for the food! I was excited to see it open, and the first opportunity I had I called an order in and picked it up. Arriving I found there was little to no parking, but didn't investigate thouroughly. I ordered the sausage gravy and buscuits with a side of bacon. It was delicious. The portion size was excellent. The second time I decided to dine in. It was a weekday at about 11 am. This issue I thought existed with parking turned out to be something that will likely keep me from going back. They are in an itty bitty area next to a Duncan donuts and a dentist. There are maybe 20 parking spaces for all the businesses. I had to drive around until someone left. The place was moderately busy. They sat me at the community table. It took a very long time for someone to take my order, then longer to get it. Once the food arrived, I unwrapped the silverware and it was dirty. Since I was at the community table I opened two more and found a set of utensils I could cobble together. I had ordered the buscuits and gravy with a side of bacon again. But this time the bacon was horrible! Greasy and tasteless. I don't know how they can make bacon tasteless, but they did. Sitting there eating, the restaurant got busy. The line was now running from the counter behind me and the people were right on top of me! Elbows hitting my head. I finally got my bill and went to put the tip down on the table but there was a teenager from a family at the table staring at the money. So I picked it up to give to the waitress but it was so busy I couldn't physically get to her. Sadly I won't be going back. Yes, they have good coffee, but that isn't enough. read more

My most recent experience at this location was Sunday May 26, 2019. My husband and I've have dined at this location multiple times over the last few years and without fail my meal is always wrong. My omelette is never accurate and over cooked, my scrambled eggs are always over cooked, and today my waffle was cold (my scrambled eggs were over cooked as well). The manager is always pleasant, accommodating and remakes our meal. When our orders are wrong the manager takes care of the meal and asks us to please give this location another chance. As of today, I can no longer patronize this location due to all of the past and present issues. Although the wait staff and manger at this location always provide quality service the kitchen staff is extremely subpar and it's most frustrating and disappointing because when meals are appropriately prepared the first time they are delicious. I'm not sure if your kitchen staff understands or cares however their errors often affect the tips for the servers. Although my husband and I tip according to the quality of the service provided by waiter/waitress other patrons may not. May 26th was indeed our last time patronizing this location. It's my hope you address this with your kitchen staff and corrections are made moving forward. read more

This is my favorite breakfast place to eat in North Georgia! Everyone is so nice and the atmosphere is good, the food is healthy, fresh, and delicious! Despite the fact that it was busy, we were sat and greeted by the server pretty fast and got our food in less than ten minutes! Okay food, really slow and bad service. We sat down for nearly 10 minutes and still no one asked for even our drink order. It's not even busy and the host had to come rather than the waitress, I guess she saw how ridiculous it was to wait this long. As you know that the kitchen is open in the back, I looked over and there were 5 workers just chilling there and talking, not acknowledging our table at all. It's unfortunate because the food is good but the service just ruins it. This is not worth it until they get better at handling crowds. They were severely understaffed. Much confusion at the door, and then when we seated, our food took about 40 minutes...well part of our food. My husband's food came (we had to send back the waffle. It looked terrible. I think someone had set a plate on top of it.) The server took the whole plate away and then brought back the cold eggs and sausage. They should have just remade the whole plate. Then AFTER his new waffle came, he was able to eat his whole meal before my food finally came. There was no manager in sight and the staff was so overwhelmed that we didn't bother to complain. It's a Sunday morning, so I expect them to be busy, but we waited over 40 minutes for our food. Then two of us got our food and our daughter sat and waited even longer! The waitress was apologetic, and I understand that it was out of her control. My potatoes and toast (is the end slice of ciabatta loaf really toast?) were covered in so much pepper, I could not eat them. I asked the server if they normally had this much pepper and she said it just depends on the cooks...which doesn't seem to make sense, but that's ok. My husband liked his potatoes, but said they were spicy even for him. My daughter loved her cinnamon chip pancakes. The woman who was working hostess/cashier was very nice and I appreciate that. Food is amazing!!! Would give 5 plus plus stars for the food only. Host did a very diligent job seating, being cheerful and organizing. Wait staff needs some training. If you order a "shareable" and 2 entrees- bring the shareable when it is ready. Didn't think I needed to specify that but saw it sitting ready for a while and they brought it with first entree and second entree was 8 minutes later. Also if you bring a shareable and no entree for me, I need a small plate so I am not eating directly from the shared plate. I thought this was all serving 101. If the food is the wait then get your cadence down of stopping by table to fill in drinks, just checking in, the standard things. Wait staff alone would get 3 stars. The food is wonderful. The problem lies in the design of the restaurant. It is incredibly small for the amount of people who absolutely flood this restaurant. You can expect a long wait time (particularly on weekends) if you do not join the waitlist early. I go here quite regularly and have consistently ran into these problems, which is no fault of the employees. The parking is probably the worst part; it is extremely cramped and the parking lot has to be shared with the Dunkin Donuts which is already bustling with people each morning as well as this place. You'll either have to park in the gravel lot or keep circling around until a spot opens up. The Discount Tire was so tired of people parking in their lot that they keep cones up due to this restaurant. Again, the food is absolutely wonderful and the general aesthetic of the restaurant is great. Plan in advance if your family wants to come here! read more
