We came here in a Tuesday night for a business dinner. The place feels upper scale and the staff makes you feel appreciated. I have a garlic allergy and my waitress made sure to check with the kitchen to make sure that what I was ordering was custom made. I had the bison filet and it was cooked just right to my liking. The sides were very good as well. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meal and the wait staff was great at refilling drinks. I would definitely come back. Fortunately my server Kayla was fabulous and that's why I'm rounding up. (Otherwise this might be a two or three star review). She might be the most friendly waitress I've ever met! The wedge was great and on par with the reviews I read so my expectations were high for the brisket.... Well it was unfortunately shockingly disappointingly and curiously bland - as were the garlic mashed potatoes and carrots. The pickles kept me coming back over the past couple years after a not so great first experience and now this has been my go to place for a good, consistent surf and turf. I typically dine here during off hours or mid week when it's not packed and there's no wait. The atmosphere during those times is very nice ... not packed, music is at a reasonable level, kitchen isn't crazy (it's an open kitchen) and I can enjoy my meal. Even during off hours this place does a solid business with a full/full-ish dining room. The booths are nice and cozy and feel private with high backs. This time I got the short rib and it was very good ... almost fall off the bone but could have been a little more tender. (I judge short rib tenderness based on if I need a knife or not.) The mashed potatoes are always smooth and creamy and the broccoli is cooked perfectly. They also have high quality to go containers for left overs rather than the horrible styrofoam junk. (Don't forget to ask for more pickles so you can take some home). Service is excellent as well with consistently friendly servers and bartenders. If the short rib was a little more tender this would be hands down a 5 star review but based on price point I have a higher bar for a perfect rating. Nonetheless I will continue to enjoy Ted's. Like most restaurants, Ted's has been stripping stuff out of their menu. It's a single page, now. Mostly burgers. If you like expensive burgers, I guess this is your spot. Went and had a Delmonico ribeye last night that was mostly a mass of fat and gristle soaked for about a week in meat tenderizer. I've had better steaks at Waffle House. Very disappointing. The blue creek is what I got this time - I do wish they gave more bleu cheese as that flavor got a little lost in the meatiness of the burger but still delicious. Usually Ted's is a place you can really count on for solid ambiance, great service and really solid food experience as well. The most recent trip there, they really slipped. On a Friday night they didn't have any fish?? And it wasn't late on a Friday night either. It took forever to get my drink. And the server seem to really rushed. I never had the short ribs and I don't think I'll have them again. They weren't terrible but they weren't memorable at all, they just didn't have a lot of flavor really. Other items at Ted's just do a lot better. I asked for coffee and I finally got it and it was pretty marginal. I'm always amazed at restaurants who don't serve good coffee. My husband and I were heading home after a fun weekend in Buford, Georgia, celebrating my cousin's 50th birthday. After looking at several options, we decided to get lunch at Ted's Montana Grill because the menu looked good and it was three miles away from the hotel where we stayed. It was sitting on the corner of a strip mall building, across the way from Costco. We arrived before the big lunch crowd arrived, so we got a great booth near the HUGE bison head on the wall. It was pretty cool to see. Our server, Kelly, welcomed us and thanked us for visiting Ted's before we hit the road back home. She let us know about the specials, told us about how everything was "small plates", fresh, and made when you request it, and then she helped us make our lunch selections. My husband got the Ted's bacon cheeseburger with half fries and half onion rings, along with an Arnold Palmer (tea and lemonade mix), which he loves. I chose the Red Rock sandwich with fries, and a mango lemonade. Kelly promptly brought out our drinks and left us to enjoy them while our food was being prepared. The kitchen was open to the public, so you could see fire blaze up on the grill from time to time. Our food was ready in about 10 minutes or so. She brought our food over directly from the grill and made sure we had everything we needed. She got my husband another Arnold Palmer and left us to enjoy the food, coming to check on us a couple of times while we ate. My only regret is that I did not get pictures. The food was very flavorful and had a really good smoky note to it. I snagged one of my husband's onion rings and it had a great crunch to it. The sauce they had for the onion rings was tasty too. Kelly came back when we were half through and told us about the apple pecan crisp dessert. She let us know that it would need about 10 minutes in the oven if we wanted it. I checked with the driver to see what he wanted to do, and he said, "Let's do it." She came back in 10 minutes with a piping hot bowl of apple pecan crisp dessert with one scoop of ice cream on top. The Granny Smith apples tasted like the chefs had just sliced them off the core, and the crumble on top was excellent. The vanilla ice cream made it all the better. We were able to share the dessert with no problems. We had phenomenal service, great food, and a laid-back, calming atmosphere. We live so close, and finally decided to try Ted's. Ordered Bison short ribs, with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. The ribs were done perfectly, very tender and delicious. Potatoes and broccoli were good, but the bison was the star. Wife ordered the same thing, and agreed that it was a great choice. Atmosphere is nice, and staff is friendly. Our server was Taylor, and I suggest you ask to be at one of her tables. She was very good. All in all, it's an excellent choice for dinner. Many say, it's great for lunch. I just can't comment on that without experience. I do plan to visit during lunch at some point. For now, I highly recommend Ted's for dinner. read more

We arrived on Friday at 6:00 PM. Sadly, we did not get into eat as we were told there was a 30-minute wait despite literally every table except one being open. They claimed reservations were coming. First, I did not even know they started taking reservations. Second, Really, this is a burger joint. Seems like every visit here in the last year has been problematic in one way or another. So off to Bubba 33, they were actually busy with only a few open tables, but we were seated and helped right away. Oh, everyone one here is smiling and friendly. I have been to Ted's many times, just a few weeks ago we went to the one at Avalon north Atlanta....love the classic steakhouse atmosphere and design, they give you free the absolute best classic dill pickles, they are crunchy and fat free, the real New York taste, I had their fantastic large fish sandwich that is lightly fried with soft inter fish, their onion rings are top notch on a par with the best steakhouse in the country, my wife had one of their fancy large hamburgers that was a feast and top quality...all the iced tea I could want...our waitress did her level best and was very nice....a great experience at a fair price...here is a terrific place one can go once a week and be happy...great deal read more

I would give a negative star if it was an option. We had a reservation for 6:30pm. We weren't seated until 7pm. They acted as though we didn't have a reservation. . We didn't want to be seated by the bathroom or front door which was on the reservation. Then once we were seated the waiter (Nathan) didn't introduce himself. When we ordered 2 of us ordered the 9 Oz Salmon. When it came out it was visibly that 1 of them was not 9 oz. The "chef" Chris came out and said with a raised voice "who was it that said their salmon wasn't 9 oz? Then he went into that he weighs them himself before they are sent out. Then he sits down a 5oz. salmon. Never have I gone to a restaurant and "reprimanded" for saying the obvious. Even the waitress that brought it out agreed. We had to ask several times for things such as butter, gravy, loaded potato ingredientssince it wasn'ton the potatoes. Told us they don't give bread but the table behind us had a basket of bread. Never refilled the tea. So when we were ending the meal Nathan came to the table and said the Manager (Chris) was giving us deserts on the house. Gave me a menu. But when the check came only 1 desert was comped. We talked to Nathan and he said only the person with the salmon issue was getting a free desert. Now 4 people at the table heard it differently. Why did he give me the menu? I wasn't the one with the small salmon. So Nathan said he wasn't going to argue. So we asked for the Manager. The manager said the same thing Nathan said but after it was explained again he said he would remove it but it was just for the one whose meal was messed up. Glad Chris took it off but I will never come back to this location again. It was bad from the walking in to the walking out. The food was mediocre and the service was awful. With all the restaurants in Atlanta why would I want to spend my money someplace that wouldn't even apologize for the mistakes they made. Ruined the experience. read more

Upon entry I was not greeted and waited 10 minutes to be seated. I was seated at a booth which is one of their options of seating, including a bar and regular tables. I was hosted by Kelly who showed me amazing service. Waiter showed up frequently and wait times between orders and food delivery were longer than anticipated. However being there on Valentine's Day, one of their busiest days of the year, makes up for that. The food was excellent. The photos I have attached show my order: Ted's Bacon Cheeseburger, a Wildberry Cheesecake, and a chocolate milkshake. All three were delightful and I definitely recommend them. Great service, delicious food and nice ambiance. It was our first time trying Ted's Montana Grill and we had a great experience. We were seated right away and then after a few minutes the waitress came to introduce herself and take our drink orders. She brought our waters, took our orders and brought some pickles that I think were homemade. The food took a little while to come. My husband ordered Bison Filet with fries and asparagus and I ordered a burger with fries. When our food arrived the waitress told me that the fries would be coming soon, but I ended up finishing the burger and the fries didn't arrive (I ate some of my husband's fries). The waitress came and apologized and went back in to check/get my fries. She brought me a plate with fresh fries and she was very sweet and gave me a dessert as an apology for the delay. Our food was very delicious! My burger tasted great, I tried some of my husband's steak and it was tender and juicy and my husband was impressed with it for being from a chain restaurant. The asparagus were perfect! The dessert was also very good! We'll definitely be coming back. read more

I've come alone at sat at the bar, even brought some boys from the football team here for burgers- they had never had bison and always ordered well done so I taught them how to eat meat right.... .salt pepper medium rare or rare!!!! They loved the burgers and fries and knocked bison off their bucket lists.... ( when they write one). Classy place, nice booths that are private -ish.. , great service and impeccable food. My husband and I visited for the first time today, for lunch. I got the Avalon beef burger with 50/50 onion rings and fries. Our server Margo suggested their creamy horseradish sauce with the onion rings and she wasn't wrong. It was delicious! My burger was juicy and divine. My husband got the Ted's burger with fries and gobbled it up. Margo was very attentive, knowledgeable and nice. The restaurant is decorated beautifully with pictures of Montana. Great dinner spot near Mall of Georgia. I stay down the street from this Ted's whenever I am in town for work and I eat dinner here almost every night I'm there. Incredible staff. I order the exact same thing whenever I go. I don't even have to order, they know what I'm getting as soon as I sit down. We moved back to the area so we wanted to go to Teds from the past it was always good, reasonably priced and the service was great. On our first visit back it was as we remembered and as always you have to try the pickles. Unique and delicious. The onion rings lightly breaded and crispy just the right amount of seasonings.
