    Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl
    Ashley V.

This was my first visit to this First Watch location. Arrived around 1pm on Friday for lunch with about a 10 minute wait. Service was mid. Sat for a few minutes before our server checked in and got our drink order. Once drinks arrived it took a little longer for them to come back and take our food order. Not particularly friendly or attentive, just came back once to see how the food was. I guess all of this to say service wasn't good or bad, but it took a long time for Friday lunch visit--I wouldn't want to come during work because one might not get in and out on time. Food and drinks were good. Tasted my mom's ham & gruyère sandwich and tomato basil soup, both delicious. Sampled her Morning Meditation juice and I liked that as well. I had the Purple Haze tea which I loved. I ate the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl which was alright but it was lighter on the kale (quite literally two little pieces) than I would have liked. The restaurant was loud and very full. The seating feels kind of awkward and tight. Walking to the bathroom felt precarious. Not only was I brushing into people's winter jackets and bags hanging from their chairs, but the floor in the restaurant was greasy and slippery.

I recently had breakfast at First Watch. We were immediately seated and ordered coffee. I do recommend the coffee but it is pricey at almost $4. I ordered the Avacado Toast which comes with 2 eggs which I ordered over easy. I also ordered a side order of toast. The Avacado Toast was good but did not have as much Avacado as some of the pictures on Yelp. The eggs were good and the toast was good with a heavy grain texture, The service was great.

First of all, I would check the wait-time on their website and get on that waitlist so you're not spending too much time in your car before they text you that your table is ready. I've been there when the wait is an hour and another time when I was seated right away. I really do enjoy their food and cocktails there. I had the Pomegranate Sunrise which is tequila, pomegranate, fresh lime, and agave nectar and it was amazing. My boyfriend drank the Morning Glory which had vodka, orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger and agave nectar. If you like turmeric and ginger, then Morning Glory is for you! To eat we both got the Carnitas Burrito and it was delicious. It had carnitas (obviously), potatoes, eggs, cheese, beans, and avocado wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla and smothered in tomatillo sauce. They have a fairly large menu but I do try to get their limited time specials!

Too expensive, too crowded, waiter too weird, lol. But if you're traveling and need something besides donuts or McDonald's for breakfast one day out of five, it's probably a good bet. Oh, it smells like garbage truck juice out on the patio. : ( Boo.

Since the last time I couldn't stop thinking about the Lobster Bisque and unfortunately this visit something changed with the recipe or preparation. So this most likely changed my entire perception of everything, but there is one thing that my wife and agreed on and that was the complimentary bread. It had no flavor and tasted dry and stale at room temperature and what ruined it was ice-cold unsalted butter. My salad house salad was okay and the white French dressing was just okay. My wife enjoyed her Caesar Salad. Our appetizer was the highlight of the evening as their version of Bang Bang Shrimp was AMAZING enveloped in filo pastry with a cheese mixture inside that surprised us. The dipping sauce wasn't even needed. My wife enjoyed her Surf and Turf. My Ribeye was more on the rare side which I ordered Med Rare so I took 75% home with me and just cooked it. Because dessert for us. We were impressed that they offered us complimentary Prosecco which added a nice touch. We had great service and impressed that the owner once again came over to our table to check on us multiple times. I'm unsure what happened to that outstanding Lobster Bisque!!!!

The menu is HUGE and they have a bit of everything. The chicken was extremely tender, seasoned well and juicy. I had no idea what dirty rice was but you get two sides with the dinner and most of the options were variations of a potato. Rice had bits of meat and reminded me of a Mediterranean spice, heavy heavy flavor with mostly a cardamom and all spice flavor upfront. The Brussel sprouts, which happened to be the veggie of the day, were delicious. Simple glaze on them did the trick. A few were a little crispier (maybe even burnt) than you would have liked but overall they were a great compliment to the chicken. Someone I was with got the boneless chicken wings and they were gigantic, the biggest I've ever seen. Tender white meat throughout. Could have been two pounds of meat on the plate for one order (either 10 or 12 I can't remember).
