We first visited this chain in another town multiples times and it was amazing. From the million dollar bacon to the service, it was just perfect. We've been to the Southpark location twice and the first time was ok, but today, we were seated, waited a really long time to have a drink order taken, but no one ever took our order. Even the people on either side of us had their's taken. This is the first time I ever walked out of a restaurant. If the manager sees these reviews, please look at your service level on Sunday mornings. The booths by the bathrooms were also filled with employees, hanging out, instead of waiting tables. We are regulars at First Watch. We've been to many different locations, as it's our go-to breakfast/brunch spot. As usual, the food was amazing! I always get the trifecta and my husband gets the BLTE (amazing) and a chocolate chip pancake. This review is really for our server, Jillian. She was awesome!! Probably the best server we've had at any of the locations we've been to. My Turkey sausage came out borderline cold and being 33 weeks pregnant, it made me nervous to eat it. I asked if it could just be heated up, but Jillian had the kitchen fire me brand new ones and had them split them down the middle to make sure they were fully cooked. She was really busy, too, and still took the time to make sure we were taken care of. read more

I'm not normally one to be picky about the quality of my food, let alone right a review about it, but my meal here this morning was atrocious. The Elevated Egg Sandwich came out sitting in a puddle of egg yolk. There was no sign of a cooked egg anywhere on the sandwich- just two pieces of bacon and a slice of avocado. Also can't forget about the hunk of Gruyère cheese that had already fallen off the sandwich by the time is got to the table. The potatoes were hardly cooked and drenched in salt. I ate one bite of that. Having enjoyed other locations there is clearly something wrong with this one in particular. Waitress was nice but nothing special. read more

What a wonderful surprise today, when my teen daughter and I stopped in around 2pm, hungry and tired of the same old places. She loves alternative, organic, fresh foods and I love lots of choices! The hostess and server were delightful people, and though very busy, were kind and attentive. Our food came out quickly. I had the ham and gruyere omelet with skillet potatoes and whole wheat toast, and she had the Belgian waffle with chicken sausage, fruit compote and maple syrup. She also had a green drink which she loved, and I had sweet iced tea. It was a wonderful meal and we were excited to find a new favorite place. The atmosphere is comfortable and the prices reasonable. I totally recommend it and my 17 year old thought it was cool as well! Can't beat that. read more

Hickory, NC: for a party of 6 (4 adults 2 children) the bill was $90 for breakfast (no frills or extras, my 3 eggs scrambled with cheese and a side of grits cost $19.47), plates arrived 5 minutes apart and all were cold, the servers were extremely rude (one plate was incorrect and the replacement (which we said was not necessary) was all but tossed in front of us with a scowl from the server), the menu sounds fantastic but the food leaves much to be desired. I have never posted a bad review in my life but left this restaurant with such a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. Horrible restaurant. read more

What an amazing experience I had on my first visit there during Mother's Day. The wait was a little long because of the holiday but once we were inside everything was great from the server to the food. I have been back a couple of times to a few different locations and each one never disappointed me. I try something new each time ago and I haven't been let down yet. Definitely recommend this as a restaurant to experience. I have gone to several first watch locations ... but this one is not it ! -Bathroom dirty -Fruit cup came out with dirt around the rim ( wasn't presentable) -Serving old bacon that was reheated to the point the bacon just broke to pieces -The Belgian waffle did not have that fresh light taste It normally does. -The syrup bottle had syrup all over the outside of the bottle (hands very sticky ) no napkins table wasn't wiped down - eggs wasn't fluffy ... could barely pick it up with the fork Frustrating experience... left unsatisfied and hungry . read more

Me and my friends ate here this past Sunday and we split our check five ways. We each elected for a certain percentage of a tip based off of our individual bill amount. My total was including tip $20. I checked my bank account and I've been charged $33. We all did the math and turns out they did the tip percentage based off the entire bill and not the individual check amount. The lady at the front cashing us out assured us that we didn't get charged $20 for our tip, just 20% of our individual bill but that clearly was a lie. Very disappointing and I do not recommend eating here because even leaving a 20% tip was more than generous for the service we received. read more

I have been to this First Watch two times in person and two times to go and I have been disappointed every single time. It should not take 30-40 minutes from ordering to get breakfast food. It seems like they have no sense of urgency or a complete lack of management. The food is subpar compared to what it usually is at the numerous other First Watch around the country I've been too and we never have issues. This one is in a great location and we love First Watch typically so it is beyond disappointing this seems to just be poor management that will prevent us from returning. read more

The south park location does not understand how an online wait-list works. On Saturday morning, I joined the wait-list and it said it would be a 15-20 min wait. Surprising since it was 10:30 am but great. When we showed up to check in, the hostess said she couldn't give me an estimate on how long it would actually be, possibly 2 hours. The manager came over to clarify and explain to me that I shouldn't count on the online system. It doesn't take into account what is going on in the restaurant. And that my wait would likely be over an hour. The food here is okay but not worth the hassle of the wait-list issues. read more

This is absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had. There is no way this place will make it. I've never in my life had any place tell me they weren't cooking my food. But yep, that's what happened- not only did they just say they weren't cooking my food, (with no explanation) despite us being seated an hour before they closed- they didn't melt the cheese on my child's grilled cheese and somehow managed to also burn it. The staff very obviously doesn't care one bit about the customer. This was my birthday breakfast- but unfortunately I didn't even get food. Unreal. And no one even apologized. I can't believe this place has lasted as long as it has... but it won't be around long. Awful. I've never actually had a good dining experience here. Half of the time they don't even come to your table to wait on you for at least 30 minutes after you're seated. I've never been to a restaurant with more people in one place that truly just didn't care at all about the customers experience!
