[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance here was so cute[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the matchatinis were amazing!! They had a lime flavor to them as well. My meal was tasty and the service was quick (granted, I visited on a weeknight).

Love the ambiance and all of the plants! The latte I had was made with oat milk and the espresso was delicious! We did order a breakfast Sammy with turkey and that was yummy too! This is a great spot for you to just chill and bring your laptop to enjoy a good calm coffee shop environment.

I stumbled on this place after seeing it advertised on TikTok. I have never been so happy to find a niche coffee place like Roots as I am now. What a great place. Service is very speedy, the menu of food is incredibly delicious and packed full of flavors. The lattes I've had twice there already hav been brewed with skill and left me wanting another cup. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Parking is pretty easy for the city and they have some outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once inside, you have to order before you're allowed to sit at a table. This seems to be a trending triage method for Charlotte these days so if you're going with kids, be ready to not have a table until someone leaves. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the decor; so cozy and maximalist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I certainly recommend everyone to visit here at least once!! You won't regret it!!

Pulled up before a haircut - first time in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is really cool inside and has a comfortable and clean vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a breakfast burrito to go - because I wanted something fast. That was what was suggested - also got an Americano. I was in and out in probably 5 minutes. Very solid! I would come back for sure.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great food, coffee, and atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cant go wrong with any of the breakfast sandwiches and lattes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Easy grab and go or sit down and hang out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bronx breakfast sandwich is spectacular.

Leaving 4 stars because they were so slammed and took forever to get our food. I dont know the situation in the kitchen if they can fit more cooks they definitely need too but I know it's small so I dont know if they can. Didnt see what it looked back there. Otherwise food is very good and worth the wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is also very limited as well as parking[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon entering the ambiance was quiet with modern decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Server was warm, welcoming & provided input on menu options. Hummus tasted fresh & creamy. So enjoyable I almost finished it before remembering to take a pic lol. I enjoyed the pecan maple bar & caramel chocolate chip cookie equally. The blt was by far one of best I've tasted. Unfortunately, the star topper cocktail didn't taste how I'd imagined it would & left me with an off putting aftertaste.

I love Roots Cafe! It's such a vibe & I stumbled across it one day searching for coffee shops. I drive about 25 minutes just to get a bacon, egg & cheese croissant because it's so good. I've also tried their latte. There's indoor & outdoor seating. The dining area is so small but I never had issues with finding a table, regales of how crowded they seem. There's small and large tables with plugs for computers & phones. Love this place. Came here and was able to brainstorm on some projects & have a nice bite to eat on a few occasions.

Service is attentive and considerate. We sat outside on a gorgeous Saturday. The tables were very clean and nicely spaced. Our order came out very quickly. The flavor is great and the combo of veg/protein is perfect. We will return!

If you're looking for a quaint, homey coffee shop in the heart of the city.. then look no further than Roots Cafe in South End!! This location is almost hidden around the corner from the Atherton shopping center, but that factor helps create the calm ambiance of the space. I got the BELT sandwich which included bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato and the star of the show.. the pesto spread!! This delicious sandwich paired with an iced latte was a perfect brunch! The cafe had lots of parking but limited seating inside, though they did have a small patio. I'd love to go back to try one of their other sandwich options!

Best breakfast sandwich!!! I have been looking for cozy spots to grab a quick bite when down in Charlotte for appointments from time to time. This place is adorable, the people were super nice, and what I thought would be a plain Jane sandwich was A-Mazing!!! I also loved that when I asked simply for water they gave me a large container so I didn't have to always wait for refills (I drink a ton). I have found the spot! Although I don't live in the area, it looks like a peaceful place to get work done, there is also outdoor seating, but there are signs requesting you to limit your time during peak hours. I don't think that's an unreasonable request at all. Their hours are varied and they are open until 10pm some nights so I'll definitely have to head back for dinner.

I know I made it look very pretty in my photos, but don't be fooled. Here is the complete review. We found the green tomatoes bland and appeared to have been frozen before being prepared. The "Gravy Train" with the mini biscuit was inedible. The gravy itself was OK. Nothing special, not one of the three were "great." But the mini biscuits were terrible, hard, dense chunks of dough. I ate one of them and discarded the rest. The "Chicken Ditch the Waffle" was equally terrible. Whatever they did to turn the biscuit into "fake" French toast is a 100% fail. They were as dense and unappealing as the mini biscuits. The chicken itself was fine. If I was only rating the chicken I'd probably give it a 3.5. The best dish was actually the "GOAT." It was served with a Standard biscuit which we thought was still too dense and dry. I recommend finding an independent restaurant that serves real, "from scratch" food. I should point out that the service crew in the dining room who delivered the food as well as provided cleanup and assistance, were exceptional. They were friendly, courteous, and focused on customer service. I'm sure they deserve more than they are being paid. It was obvious many of them were spanish-speaking immigrants. Not everyone in the restaurant treated them with the respect and gratitude they deserve. Here's the detail of our order from their menu. They even have a "Dietary Preference" menu (look for it online), with keto, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. Some servers aren't aware of this menu, but they will see it in their Toast device if they look for it. We have landed on a couple of favorite dishes that are repeats for us. I like the Spanish Omelet keto-style. Instead of a biscuit and grits, you get a half of an avocado (sliced) and a roasted tomato. The omelet is always full of flavor, and I love it. My husband's favorite is their White Chocolate Bread Pudding Pancakes, with bacon ($2 extra). Don't let the name deter you--these pancakes aren't too thick. They are slightly chewy, and the white chocolate whiskey sauce is amazing. He rarely uses the syrup! Ruby's coffee is always good and strong, and their service is great, no matter who you get. The service is always fast and friendly, and of course, the food is good! I started with the fried green tomatoes, and they were easily the highlight of the meal. They were fried so well and topped with bacon, tomato, lettuce, and a tasty remoulade. I'm still thinking about them honestly! For my entrée, I ordered the 3 Little Pigs Omelet. Unfortunately, it was a bit underwhelming. It was smaller than I expected and didn't really resemble an omelet. It was a little messy and slightly runny for my taste. On the side, I added a single pancake and a bowl of grits, both of which were delicious though. I had a good experience and will definitely be back. I just wish the omelet had been prepared a little better.

There are enough combinations that you could come back several times and order something different each visit. I ordered the Chicken and Red Velvet Waffle. It comes with crispy fried chicken, a red velvet waffle, cream cheese drizzle, syrup, and cinnamon butter. The chicken was crispy and juicy, although a few bites were a little salty. Not every bite, and the syrup balanced it out nicely. The cinnamon butter was a nice touch. However the waffles literally disintegrated under the chi My daughter ordered the Crab Cake Benedict Biscuit, and we shared it. It comes with a crab cake, sunny side up eggs, arugula, spinach, and hollandaise on a flaky biscuit. We also shared an order of Crispy Brussels Sprouts. I had never heard of bacon jam before seeing it on the menu. If you like to customize your food, you'll have fun here. I came in expecting average and left planning my next visit. Must order: Crab Cake Benedict Biscuit, and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts. Tip: Don't skip the build-your-own options. There are enough combinations to create something every body likes.
