I had the avocado toast which was ok, the topping is a lot (bonus) but some of the avocados were brown. I took them off, but it definitely took away from the entree. Great open fresh farm to table breakfast and brunch location. Friendly host to wait staff that were super knowledgeable and patient in menu review and ordering process. Specialty menu and extensive Standard menu availabile to order from the simple to super fancy flavor combinations. This first visit we tried the Million Dollar Bacon as an appetizer to start, followed by the Parmasean Prosciutto Toast and Honey Caramel Crunch ice coffee from special menu, along with the Biscuits with Turkey Sausage and gravey, with eggs and potatoes. All came out quickly and plated to definitely eat with your eyes first. This is definitely a location to go back to over and over again to really try more of their menus. We were sat at a dirty table - the bill for four (no alcoholic drinks) was $101. $9 for one pancake. Had to return the eggs on the Benedict as they were cooked through. Half of the food was delivered five minutes before the rest of the table. Our "to share" items came out at the end of our meal. Bacon was substituted for sausage without any mention they were out of sausages. The "sauces" for the donuts were filled about 1/10th of the way. Great experience! We went on a Sunday morning at 8:00 and there was plenty of seating- not crowded at all. There is a big parking lot too with spots even reserved for the restaurant (you don't need to mess with the parking deck that's there.) The menu was extensive and there were lots of options as well as seasonal options. They even make fresh juices!! There was definitely something for everyone and they even had a 'healthier options' section and a full bar with breakfast drinks. I got the pancakes- one plain and one carrot cake with pecan which were both good! I liked that they gave us our own carafe of coffee when we ordered it so we could refill ourselves when needed. They also gave us a couple pitchers of water so we could refill ourselves. They had several items on the menu that they mentioned were organic or all natural which I loved!!! They even had the option to get real maple syrup for a couple extra dollars which I went for and it came in a cute little bottle! The food was good and quick and the server was attentive. read more

Visited on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. The restaurant was moderately busy, and we waited about 15 minutes for a table, which was reasonable. Our table was clean, but it took about 8-10 minutes for our server to greet us. I ordered the breakfast tacos with a side of black beans, and this was easily the highlight of the meal. The flavors were solid, and everything was prepared well. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn't meet expectations. We shared the "Million Dollar Potatoes," which looked great on the outside but were undercooked and still crunchy inside. It seemed like they were cooked at too high a temperature, browned on the outside but not given enough time to cook through. My guest ordered avocado toast with two eggs over medium. While the eggs initially looked fine, the whites were undercooked and runny once cut into, making them inedible. Again, it felt like the food was rushed off a very hot griddle rather than properly prepared. The avocado toast itself had good components, real avocado and hearty multigrain bread, but was overwhelmed by an excessive drizzle of olive oil, which made it unpleasant. Service was also lacking. Even as the restaurant slowed down, our server never checked back with us until bringing the bill. At that point, we mentioned the issue with the eggs, and to their credit, management comped that dish. Maybe it was a bad day for them, they were very nice otherwise. That said, with current dining prices, it's frustrating to pay a premium for basic dishes that aren't cooked properly. I've had a great experience at another First Watch location in Raleigh, but this visit has definitely lowered my confidence in this location. Overall, a good start, but inconsistent execution and lack of attention to detail. I wouldn't return to this location without improvements in kitchen oversight and service. read more

I go here with my nieces everytime we come to town. The chorizo tacos and avocado toast are delicious. Also, they have yummy iced coffee. You can get your name on a waitlist before heading over too. My only complaint is that it's pretty pricey for basic food. read more

This was my first visit to a First Watch location, and it will be my last. Our party of six was quoted a 20-25-minute wait, but we were not seated for about 55 minutes. After being seated, no one even took our drink order for 20 minutes, and it took over 35 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. 9/12 Started off my birthday with Brunch! This is my favorite First Watch location. There was no wait and our server was friendly and attentive. I was able to sample the pomegranate pear punch to know I definitely wanted to try the new pomegranate sunrise cocktail. I always get the trifecta but went with the pumpkin pancake instead of my usual chocolate chip pancake. I still substitutes potatoes for my eggs and everything was delicious. Hubby ordered the Trifecta as well with a pumpkin pancake. He we was excited to try the Honey Carmel Crunch Iced Coffee. He thought it wasn't caffeinated enough but it was a delicious sweet treat. The only negative is that the toffee pieces get stuck in the straw if you mix the drink. Great way to start my day! read more

This location is 5 mins from my house. My wife and I now drive 20 mins to go to a different first watch because this one is so awful. Everything about this location is great, except for the service. The service is so bad, and consistent among so many servers, that I cannot give above one star. I do not know how first watch operates, but they seem to have no manager. If that's the case, this one desperately needs one. I gave this location no less than 6 chances to change my mind, and the service got worse every time. The servers are rude, inattentive, and just make you feel incredibly unwelcome. There is no way I will ever eat here again. One of the staple brunch places in our area. Always a bit busy come Sunday or Saturday before noon regardless of the location I have been to. Great service from staff at all locations so fat which is a plus! The food here for me is a bit average, falling on comfort and familiar favorites rather than anything adventourous or instagramamble (is that a word ha) but honestly that's okay and that's what you want going to brunch to catch up with friends or family before the adventure this place is perfect for that. The food: We started with a roast coffee for the table -- simple and hit the spot. I had the Parma hash: "two cage-free eggs any style atop fresh, seasoned potatoes, Italian sausage, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with melted Parmesan, Mozzarella and fresh herbs. Served with our whole grain artisan toast." I chose poached eggs, which were cooked nicely. The highlights for me were the sausage, veggies, runny eggs, and toast. The bread was fresh, toasted well, and lightly buttered. One downside is that some of the potatoes were slightly hard on the inside. Slightly inconsistent. Had to stop by my attorney's office to sign some paperwork and upon leaving, I realized First Watch was literally attached to the building. Since I was hungry, why not try it out. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and seated. A waitress came over and asked if we had ever seen eaten there before and gave us the rundown on the menu. I got one of the egg options with avocado and bacon, then added a pancake and French toast as sides so I could try it. They had this awesome blueberry marinade that was almost better than the syrup but I had to have my syrup too, lol. This review is long overdue. I live in the neighborhood of this First Watch and I have been there 20-25 times in the past year...I want so badly to become a "regular" as the food is good at this location and most First Watch's are typically good in ALL regards. Today, again the food was good, but there were 5 strikes, all which point towards poor management. The table I was sat at was dirty, the silverware was dirty, the pineapple brought out was inedible (white), I received the wrong check, and (per their intended process) there is no host or cashier. The last item regularly results in unnecessary waiting to get seated and to depart. These type of issues happen on nearly every visit and as mentioned earlier all tie to management training, decision making, and oversight. C'mon First Watch South Park - you can be better than this and those of us in the area want to be regulars! read more

Nice staff but the food itself is just kind of good. Definitely not great. The pancakes were really big, but I thought they were a little dry. I had to use way more syrup than I wanted to just to add flavor. The grits to me weren't very good, and I probably would not get them again. However, the pork sausage links were great! read more

I like first watch, but I think because it's a chain, your experience can be very hit or miss. When I first tried FW in Daytona Beach I could not get enough, but sadly my first visit to a location here in Charlotte was disappointing. I've since been to a Huntersville location and enjoyed my visit. Since this location was nearby I decided to grab breakfast to go. I ordered the Tri-Athlete which based on the photo and description is served with bread and a side of fruit. What I didn't realize is that you can change your side when you order online, and instead of fruit, the default is a lemon-dressed side salad. So I go to pick up my order and was pretty impressed by the decor inside, it's very nice, what you would expect to see in south park. The employees were friendly, but the first issue for me was that when they brought my order to me, I was told that the juice I ordered wasn't available and in fact they didn't have ingredients to make any fresh juice but offered me coffee, soda or juice instead. I asked if they had iced coffee which they did- so I took that. Fast forward to me sitting at my desk and opening the bag and I realized that the toast was missing from my order. It wasn't a huge meal to begin with so I really wanted toast so I could stay full until lunchtime. This is also when I noticed the side salad - literally greens with NO dressing. I called them and ultimately spoke with a supervisor or manager named Irene who apologized for the mixup and told me to come back the next day and she would make it right. So I did, and I was greeted by someone who told me there was no manager named Irene. Confusing ..but then another individual nearby chimed in who turned out to be the GM Justin - and he was awesome. I believe o previously spoke with the Kitchen mgr. Justin re-ordered what I wanted from the day before and they had juice that day which was great, so I was able to get the watermelon wake-up. So good! You wouldn't believe it, but when I got home I opened my food and realized that the pico de gallo was missing this time around. And it really enhanced the omelet, so I was disappointed in that. I digress. I feel like this location has been open long enough to have a better rhythm going, but I'm not exactly sure what's going on in the kitchen. I probably would return, but if you order to go like me, I would definitely recommend checking your order before you walk out of the door. Always great service and food here at the Page Rd. I went for brunch the other day and had the spiked lavender lemonade and breakfast chicken tacos. You can tell they really take pride in using fresh ingredients. All locations do not offer cocktails so I would check the specific location before I go if that's what you want. One of our orders was wrong: potatoes not substituted by grits, eggs requested poached medium were literally raw. We love First Watch and are "regulars," going once every other week. Some are definitely better than others. We were excited about this new one opening in SouthPark because the area lacks breakfast/brunch options. It looks like they've expanded the parking from what the previous burger restaurant had in this same location. Walking into First Watch, we were impressed with the decor, as it's a little fancier than typical First Watch restaurants. Maybe it's the new look they're giving new locations. There are a LOT of windows, allowing a lot of natural light into the restaurant, which was welcoming. The food was delicious and hot, but there are still some growing pains that the restaurant needs to go through. For one, our server was a bit slow for having only two 2-top tables and not very familiar with the menu. She was super friendly, though. Also, the manager walking around wasn't wearing a face mask for the ongoing pandemic, despite the mandate by the city of Charlotte and the sign on the restaurant door. All of the hostesses and servers had masks on, but the manager apparently thought he was above that, so we weren't impressed. Also, many of the cooks in the kitchen weren't wearing them either. I'm glad First Watch is available here now, but we won't be going back for awhile until the kinks are worked out (and maybe new management who cares about customers' health is hired). read more

I know its a chain but I can't believe I haven't been until now! It was poppin on a Sunday morning but the wait for a table was very reasonable. I got to try their smoked salmon and roasted vegetable frittata which was pretty solid! They gave a sizable amount of smoked salmon which was nicely seasoned and mixed it with grilled onions/other veggies. My friend's crab and avocado toast had a generous amount of avocado mash and crab but I wish it was seasoned a little bit more. Also got to try their sausage patty which was pretty tasty/well seasoned and waffle which was pretty standard. The Purple Haze drink was very aesthetic with the butterfly pea tea but it was wayyy too sweet with the lavender syrup. There was a little mess up with someone else's order so my table actually got extra food but the service was great and pretty quick. My go-to favorite is the Morning Meditation. My favorite entrees are their brunch plates. This was my first time trying the Skillet Hash. I'm satisfied with it. Combine good food with a farmhouse-style interior and lots of natural light. That'll get you motivated! First Watch has locations in other states. This one is new. I'm happy First Watch opened a Research Triangle location. This will be a good spot if you want something good before a road trip out east or catching a flight at RDU. read more
