This is an unstoppable chain that sources its menu items locally and has the most incredible unique and delicious breakfast/lunch menu I've ever ordered from. They go from Avocado Toast, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos to Three Berry Toast, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and a Fresh Juice Bar featuring my favorite, carrot ginger juice. They're only open from 7 AM to 2:30 daily but that's enough to satisfy me. They're not in Chicago yet so I have to catch them in the other 26 states they're in. I highly recommend them!!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. When we booked our seat online they said the wait time would be about 45 min. When we got there 30 minutes later, the hostess stated that we were 3rd in line. As we were standing there, we see about 8 groups get their seat before us. After being very frustrated, we asked when we would get out seat while waiting 45 min. Then he stated that we were 4th in line! How is that possible? We went backwards in line. They need a better system. They lie to you about what spot you're in! I bet the food is good if we could get a seat!!! read more

During covid-19, if a restaurant is going g to remove half the tables and great you with a sign of ALL that are "doing" to keep it's customers and employees safe, don't get mad when I tell you that the table you sat me at is dirty (crumbs, water things from glasses, bacon pieces). And then I remind you that means it also hasn't been sanitized, don't treat me with disdain for the rest of my visit. This is only the 2nd time we have ventured out to eat IN a restaurant and I assumed that First Watch would be ON it. I'm not confident that everyone here is following their new protocol if the table hasn't even been cleaned. The food was good (8 on a scale of 10). My critique would be the big pieces of roasted tomatoes that overpowered the flavor of the whole dish (Parma skillet). My partner ordered the Farmhouse skillet and it also had the strong tomatoes and onions that werent cooked all the way through which unfortunately makes her I'll. The bread is always delicious as well as the jam that is served with the meal. However the fruit cup contained 2 pieces of watermelon and both were mostly rind. When we got the check, I was charged for coffee which I did not order. All in all, I am not impressed with our visit. We don't come here often because it's kind of pricey for breakfast and this morning the food/service was definitely overpriced. AND the cashier just called my partner a liar when she told him it was dirty when we sat down. Extreme bad customer service. The reason the rating went from 3 to 1 stars. read more

First Watch is the breakfast spot for "foodies". You'll find your classic breakfast staples, but you'll also find a whole lot of redefined breakfast classics and seasonal creations. The interior is clean, bright and intimate without feeling too cramped. Service was wonderful and everything we tried was delicious. My favorite was the pumpkin pecan pancake and I have to give it up for their breakfast potatoes as well. I can't wait to eat here again! Don't like the waitlist if you are a walk in. There could be 4 people waiting with you but 10 people ahead of you! What looks like a short wait ends up being a30 minute wait!!! I don't appreciate having my change thrown into my hand after I paid my check. I didn't throw the money into her hand. My hand wasn't dirty and my hand is far cleaner than the money that she didn't have any problem touching. If she has a phobia to hands then she shouldn't be working the cash register. What a fun place! Very clever menu items, great service and fabulous interior design! My brother & sister-in-law took us here as we were leaving Columbus to return home to Chicago. We loved the experience! So, you're thinking, why only 3 stars? I made the mistake of ordering the Morning Meditation drink to go. After just one long sip, I got groggy and the tummy uneasy. So I napped most of the way home while my husband drove. At the rest stop, I took two more long sips, not realizing it was the drink that made me feel sick. My tummy was bad for two days. Great food and friendly staff, breakfast was perfect. They lean toward the healthier side and have a great menu with plenty to choose from. The waiter was great, brought water and drinks then took our order. Food came out quick and fresh. The portions may seem smaller but they are actually "normal" portions of food which is a breath of fresh air compared to the heaping portions at other restaurants. Until today I've not had much I haven't liked at First Watch, which is why I'm going with a3 star rating here because I'm holding on to the hope that the rest of their menus items are still fabulous. However, I was craving eggs benedict after church and this was one of the closest breakfast apps between where I was and where I was headed and I knew I could probably snag a spot quickly at the tall community table. I ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine...hollandaise, spinach, tomato, avocado, what's not to love?! Nearly everything, unfortunately. Why they switched from the traditional English muffin to a foccacia bread base I'll never understand...at least split the foccacia in half to accommodate the 2 eggs! It was nearly impossible for me to cut through, as if the bread had been sitting out all day and then casually got tossed on the end of the conveyor belt toasting cycle. By the time I was able to cut a manageable bite sized portion all of the delicious aforementioned toppings were no longer on the bread! The eggs were cooked completely though and the hollandaise was beyond scarce! The highlight of my eggs benedict this morning? Came here last week on the way to the airport for a quick bite to eat. I've been here before and I always order the same thing: the chicken changa. Delish! It's their version of a chicken chimichanga with a breakfast twist. Love it and highly recommend it. My guest had the pancakes and they looked amazingly fluffy. Love going to this first watch for Sunday brunch! They never disappoint and have a lot of healthy, yet tasty options. This weekend I got the market veg omelette, which is one of my go to items to get. My boyfriend tried the farmhouse hash and enjoyed as well. If there was a 0 start I would give it to them. They explained over the phone that there was only a 5 minute wait for our party of 6. We get there and they said just a few more minutes which was fine. 45 minutes go by they sit another party of 7 ahead of us at our table that got there later than us and then apologized again for doing that while smirking and laughing at their mistake.
