The turkey was flavorful, and I especially enjoyed the bacon and avocado on the toasted ciabatta bread. I've been to another location in another state for dinner but didn't realize they had brunch. While we had made a reservation, it wasn't busy here anyway. Probably could've walked in. Service was fast. Probably since it wasn't that busy. Our server was super attentive, made sure we had enough water/coffee, even offered coffee to go. She made the experience here wonderful! I got the corned beef hash while my friends got the Santa Fe omelet and the chorizo omelet. Food portions are big. But the food itself left much to be desired. My hash was skimpy on the corned beef. And for some reason it still came with a side of potatoes even though the hash already had potatoes... Honestly, the food is nothing out of the ordinary. I have positively reviewed Mimi's in the past and I will continue to do so because their food and service continues to be amazing! My last visit to Columbus, my partner and I went to Mimi's for every meal. The latest meal I enjoyed at Mimi's was their turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes (the personal sized gravy boat that came with my plate was a fun addition). My partner had the chicken parmesan, and the taste test I had was yummy and I would definitely be willing to try that dish on another visit. One dish I regret not trying was the pot roast. My partner ordered it and not only did the portion size look perfect for a smaller eater like me, but it was delicious! Meat, mashed potatoes, and carrots all in a yummy sauce? My partner kept laughing every time I stole another bite off of his plate. As for the service, every server we had was friendly, attentive, and did a great job, especially Claire, who we noted was doing amazing teaching another member of wait staff. My one critique is less of a critique and more of a questioning why the mashed potatoes that come with the turkey dish are seemingly different from the ones that come with the pot roast dish. I tried both and enjoyed the pot roast mashed potatoes way more than the turkey mashed potatoes. Both were good, but I preferred the pot roast mashed potatoes. Went there for breakfast this morning after a horrible night, our server was just phenomenal and if I could recommend a restaurant to go to, it would be this one. We had a party of five and I would say we ordered a variety from the menu, from waffles to eggs Benedict which were all delicious. I did not think to take pictures as I wasn't planning on leaving a review Anyways, our server was awesome! She refilled our beverages often, checked up on us frequently, and even offered us "to go" coffees! Every person we encountered was genuinely so friendly and we had such a nice morning there. A delightful brunch. We popped in at 12 on a Sunday. The decor is cute, like a French bistro. We had a quick 20 minute wait. We got our beverages quickly. We ordered the pineapple upside down muffin, the Lorraine quiche based on recommendation, and an omelet but I am not sure which one. Our table of five was happy with everything we ordered which ranged from chicken & waffles to jambalaya... and a number of things in between. I came here with with my family for an impromptu Thanksgiving lunch without a reservation. The lot was so full that we were afraid we'd have to wait at least an hour. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a friendly man (the owner?) who was surprised we didn't have a reservation but asked us to have a seat while he would see what he could do. He came back within 5 minutes and walked us to a clean booth. He and our server were so kind and patient on a very busy Thanksgiving. The menu on Thanksgiving was a 3-course turkey meal for $30 each -- choice of soup or salad; dark, white, or both turkey with a BUNCH of sides; a slice of pumpkin or pecan pie. The man even came back to give us an extra menu just in case one of us wasn't up for the standard turkey entree, which was so sweet. The food was all fresh and actually quick to come out. It was understandably all sliced turkey with no skin (not my fav) but it was great with all the toppings. I also had the honey peach latte, which was strong in coffee and light in sweetness, which pleasantly surprised me. The whole restaurant, including bathrooms, was very clean and pleasant. (Although the sink water was horribly cold.) The decor and warmth reminded me of an old country restaurant back in West Virginia. The man chatted with my family as we were leaving too, and we felt genuinely appreciated and welcome there. We will definitely be back. Can't wait to try their full menu! read more

My family of seven ate there yesterday for Mother's Day. We were all so disappointed with the service and quality of food. To begin: when we made the reservation, we were asked if we'd like the three-course menu or the regular. We opted for the regular, but when we got there we were told they were only offering the three-course menu today. This severely limited the menu. Then, they were out of two entrees. Later, we noticed a table behind us eating breakfast...this wasn't on the special menu. So were we lied to? Could we have ordered from the original menu? This would have definitely helped one of our family members that is a vegetarian and gluten-free! It wasn't busy, but service was slow. We all ordered a starter of either soup or salad. Two soups and one salad came out at a reasonable time, then another two salads, and finally two soups showed up about three minutes before the entrees came out. The entrees were mostly just okay; however, two ordered the beef short ribs. These were terrible! Fatty, tough, honestly inedible. We had to ask on more than one occasion for drink refills. The only thing that was noteworthy was dessert! Lava cake was good. My daughter's tiramisu was still partially frozen. That will be our last dining experience at Mimi's Cafe; there are so many restaurants near Polaris, we won't waste our money here again. I ordered the mixed beery crepes from the summer menu with scrambled eggs and corned beef hash for an upcharge. I did not find the food flavorful. It reminded me of a chain restaurant feel. The corned beef hash was overly crispy and did not find it worth the price. For the portion size, the food is overpriced due to the lack of flavors. This "French themed" restaurant offers a variety both French-inspired and casual American fare. The menu offers enough variety that most anyone should be able to find something they like. My wife likes their French onion soup while I prefer the corn chowder. One of my favorite entrees is their fish and chips. As a burger consouier, however, I should warn you that their burger (while we'll-presented with all the fixings) is a pretty generic patty of ground meat. Yet for some reason we were sat at the literal furthest table from the entrance. The complimentary bread and butter were enjoyable, I think it was French bread. For my meal I tried the seasonal specialty, Chicken Cordon Blue. For my sides I did the potatoes au gratin and broccoli. The chicken was well fried and crispy on the outside, but dry on the inside unfortunately. It also was in need of some serious salt. The potatoes were fine, I don't remember anything about them. Originally I was brought green beans (which I HATE) and had to ask for the broccoli, not a huge issue. Service was poor, especially considering how few people were in the restaurant. We had a group of 5 and they sat one person first and then the rest of us despite the first person giving explicit descriptions of the rest of our party - no biggie, we moved to one table and had THE BEST server named Gabby. I didn't complain because I was so hungry. Stand out was my niece's waffles though...I am going to order that next time! SO GOOD!
