If you are a fan of eggs benedict, you HAVE to come to First Watch to try it. I think it is the best restaurant in Columbus so far that has the best eggs Benedict that I have tried. I have also been to multiple First Watch locations and this dish has been consistently amazing and my first choice. I recently moved closer to the New Albany location so I went to try with my roommate. When you first walk in you see a lot of space and it is an inviting and comfortable environment to have breakfast / brunch at. At off peak hours I would say it would be a great spot to get work done also. It was packed since it was the day before Thanksgiving. We were seated within 10 minutes though. We sat down and waited for our waiter to come. We both asked for waters and my roommate got a coffee and I got the morning meditation. Being a tired teacher, I kept saying morning mediation instead of meditation and didn't even realize it. The waiter was confused at first until I finally realized what I had said. OOPS! He went along with it and later even made a joke about it. The morning meditation is a fresh juice with Orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet. Uhh it was absolutely DELICIOUS. I needed a little cleanse there and to start off my holiday with. My roommate got her coffee instantly and they usually give you the whole pot which is nice. We finally ordered and waited for our food for about 20 minutes. They were slammed so I didn't mind waiting. We got the eggs Benedict, the elevated egg sandwich, and a side of biscuits and gravy. When the food came out I could not be any happier to eat. Everything looked amazing and this was our first time trying their biscuits and gravy. So the eggs benedict comes with two poached eggs on top of toasted ciabatta bread with tomato and covered with hollandaise. It comes with a side salad with a lemon dressing or you can request for potatoes. My eggs were soft boiled instead of a nice poached which was slightly disappointing. When I think of eggs Benedict I think of a super runny yolk and soft egg whites. Still delicious! My roommate got the elevated egg sandwich which was over easy egg with bacon, Gruyere cheese,avocado, mayo and lemon dressed arugula on a brioche bun. It came with a side of potatoes. The presentation was amazing because the yolk was already a little runny and you could see it dripping on the side. I tried a bite and I would definitely get that in the future. Their potatoes are to die for. I was glad she got some potatoes so I could take some! The biscuits and gravy was DELICIOUS. It wasn't super heavy and there was a hint of spicy-ness that I appreciated. The only thing was that our meal was about 2 hours and never once did our waiter refill our water. We were so thirsty and he maybe checked in on us twice? After waiting about 15 minutes after our meal, I had asked him for a to go container for the food and the coffee and also the check. He came back with the to go containers about 10 minutes later, but no check. We probably waited a good 20 minutes for the check. I get it he was busy, but honestly we just needed some water!! My roommate used to be a waitress so she understood the business, but also mentioned he could've brought us more water. He was still very nice :) Always willing to come back though!! read more

Very quick service! Our server was very nice!! I ordered the shrimp & grits. The overall presentation was beautiful! I'm not used to the andouille sausage but it was different. The roasted tomato's were also an interesting surprise. It lightened up the overall dish. The onions were cut pretty big but overall it was a very nice experience. I usually do not have any problems with dining here from different locations, however, this location sent my food out that looked like it was missing half the pancake. It was a pancake with filling and was rolled , so when I lifted it up it looked as though a piece was missing. I was reassured that was not the case as the manager explained that sometimes the cake explodes during the cooking process because how the filling is put in. I still was not able to eat it and just ate the home style potatoes. They did not charge me and tried to fix it, but if you send something like that out knowing that it was not right,, I don't expect that the redo will be any better. read more

I found First Watch on a google search when looking for breakfast options for myself and my mother. The menu looked promising so we decided to try it. When we arrived we were seated quickly. I love First Watch! We went on a Thursday around 11 and were surprised that there was a wait given that it was a weekday. I got the Mexican street corn hash, which I loved!! It has potatoes, corn, cheese, chorizo, egg (over hard), chipotle sauce (I got it on the side), and avocado. We also got a side of the million dollar bacon, which we asked for well done. The hash was $11.79, and the bacon was $5.49. I would definitely get the hash again, but I feel the bacon was a little expensive for 4 pieces. Overall, I'm happy with my experience here! read more

Welp, Yelpers. It was ok. Not bad, just ok. Be prepared to pay for a carafe of hot coffee when your wait staff asks if you wish to start with coffee. There is flavored non-dairy packets on the table and if you ask for some half and half, you will receive a juice glass full of the creamer. Perhaps this is a safer way of handling coffee or perhaps this is their way of having everyone feel special. There is a charge for this that is not explained. Be prepared for the home fries to not be fully cooked and tepid in temperature. Be prepared for the Million $ Bacon to be fatty (I do love some fat on the bacon, but in this instances seems wrong) with stickiness that is presumably a sweetener, but no flavor and lots of black pepper. The omelet was ok. A bit oily, but that could be the Chorizo. Lastly, when asked, "was everything ok" and I started to answer, the woman cashing me out had a distinct change to her happy facial expression and then offered to comp them entire order worth nearly $21 for one person. It was very yummy! The eggs were cooked exactly how I like them , and they give you a great helping of potatoes. The preserve that comes with the toast is super tasty, as well. However, at ~$10.50, I wouldn't say it was extraordinary. Just a good, filling breakfast! But one I could get elsewhere for less money. This is the best and healthier breakfast spots. The wait time and service is great. New and healthy options to choose from. My go to meal is a veg'd out omelet with egg whites, potatos and Multigrain toast. I am always served with a large container of fresh coffee and water. The only drawback is the parking. If it's early enough during the workweek or on the weekend it's ok but later morning on a Saturday or Sunday can be tricky. Overflow parking near Kohls is a good alternative. read more

I will say that when I first starting going to First Watch, that it was not my favorite place. Whenever anyone would suggest that we go there, I always signed and rolled my eyes to the back of my head with partial disgust. This occured one day at the point in which I shifted my position. I recall begrudgingly sitting down and looking at the menu to see what manner of toast I was going to get. When I saw someone eating grits. I was like wait a minute, when the hell they started serving grits? I then turned and saw another patron's bacon. Now this might sound weird but the bacon they had previously was thicker and most of the time undercooked and chewy. Now I was intrigued. I decided to give the grits and bacon a try. Oh my goodness I thought to myself, these grits and bacon were freaking fantastic. The grits were flavorful to the point I didn't even have to add anything extra like butter to them. The bacon was crispy but not burned just the way that I like it. However I was I was not done. For some reason, I decided to give the waffles a try. I didn't like the waffles before because it was like bread disguising itself as a waffle. This new recipe though, is incredible. They cook the waffle to golden brown perfection with a slight crisp to it and it has the right amount and sweet and savory, especially when you add the butter and syrup to put it over the top. read more

I haven't been here in quite a while. Fortunately, I remember that you could check in to the waitlist via Yelp, before you even get to the restaurant. By the time we pulled up our table was ready. I was pleased to see that they have done some major upgrades to the interior. I really like that their eating area is now more open than it was before. They have even updated the walls with rustic decorations. These updates have transitioned this place into a more "grown up" vibe situation. We had the pleasure of being served by Dalton. I loved his attentiveness and upbeat attitude. He truly made sure that we were taken care of and didn't need much during our visit. If I could, I'd ask for him every time. :) I had what I always have, because I'm a crazy person that doesn't like new things. Haha. The TriFecta was great.
